There are not enough words to express how wonderful the Hotel Sorrento team is and how beautiful the space was for our wedding day! Beside the timeless beauty and historical charm of Hotel Sorrento, the staff inside went above and beyond all expectations to make our wedding day incredibly special. The most remarkable aspect of this all was the fact that Hotel Sorrento helped us plan a whole new reception in six weeks. Due to COVID-19, we found ourselves without a reception venue and scrambling to understand any options we had. Hotel Sorrento kindly met with us as we discussed realistic options and expectations. It took us moments to decide to move forward with them because of the experience and dedication of their team. In the weeks leading up to the big day, they did not disappoint. The team was professional, prompt with communication, and sincerely invested in making our day amazing. They eased our minds with all normal logistics, but were always on top of the ever-changing COVID-19 guidelines and mandates. They implemented temperature checks, masks, social distancing and made our small group feel safe and healthy. Hotel Sorrento made the weeks beforehand stress-free and the day was beyond our wildest dreams! They worked with our vendors seamlessly and our only focus was getting married. The day was perfect and the dinner on the rooftop patio was amazing. The food and drinks were so delicious and the views of the city at sunset were even more beautiful than we imagined. Sue, Shannon, Tiffany, and Jason are the best in the industry and will make couples constantly feel taken care of. They truly prioritize their couples and showed us kindness and hospitality we didn't experience at other venues. Hotel Sorrento will forever have our sincerest gratitude. If they can make a wedding day this breathtaking in six weeks during a global pandemic, I can't even imagine how fantastic weddings will be when the world is back to normal. We cannot recommend Hotel Sorrento enough to future couples! They are beyond amazing!
Andrea and Heather, and their team, were amazing to work with! There were a few hiccups along the way as with any wedding, but everything turned out PERFECT!
Hotel Sorrento was the perfect Seattle wedding venue for us! We wanted a boutique-style historic hotel in the city that we live in and love! It was also important to us for our venue to have a kitchen/offer a catering option where we didn’t have to worry about our guests’ meals. Our touchpoint at the hotel ended up being their Director of Sales & Catering (Andrea) who was just phenomenal. She was so helpful and responsive; we adored working with her! We also had the pleasure of working with both Kevin and Keith throughout the weekend for our reception meal and next-day brunch! All employees exceeded our expectations. Everyone that we encountered at the hotel was friendly and helpful. We wish we could get married again and relive the whole experience! Highly recommend!
Any questions?
We had our wedding ceremony on the rooftop and reception cocktail in the Penthouse at the Hotel Sorrento and it was amazing! The staff was very professional and did a great job setting up both rooms. I would highly recommend this venue! There was change in staff last minute, but Andrea stepped right in and assured us that we would be taken care of and had nothing to worry about
The Sorrento catered to all our requests even though we were a small group they treated us like we were their biggest event happening-really honoring the moment being the BIGGEST event of OUR lives <3.
My fiancé and I chose this venue because we loved the charm of the hotel, but the added stress of managing the unprofessionalism of the staff led me to nearly cancel the booking a few weeks before the wedding. Communication was a challenge and the arrogant demeanor of the catering/sales team was lackluster - not to mention the series of errors on the day of the event. If a friend was asking for a recommendation, I would strongly advise them against booking the Sorrento.
We booked the Sorrento for our wedding and were very happy with the quality and responsiveness of the service we got from Happiness and her staff. The food was absolutely delicious and we were able to work with them to ensure that beer from our friend's brewery was available for guests. The prime rib was fantastic, we selected the buffet option and it couldn't have gone better.
Happiness was very detailed and provided thorough paperwork, drawings, diagrams, layouts and seating chart tables which were all very useful during the planning process.
Our guest list was 100 and that was the limit of what we could fit, we felt very comfortable with that number of people and the entire venue felt full and energetic throughout the wedding.
The view from the balcony was a wonderful place for wedding photography and we got lucky that the rain decided to stop briefly and were able to take some very nice pictures.
When my fiancé and I toured the Sorrento Hotel for the first time, we were impressed by its old Europe charm. A beautiful historic hotel, we seriously considered wedding here, especially after meeting Lisa and getting a good idea of how enthusiastic and accommodating she would have been in hosting our wedding. We loved the penthouse, especially the balcony, with its specular view of the city and the sound. Ultimately the time of night that we would have had to wrap up festivities is what caused us to wed elsewhere, but we would have had very fond memories of the Sorrento.
Oh my gosh the most comfortable bed I ever slept in. The room me and my husband had was so big that it was the same size as our apartment, it even had to big LCD tv's.
My husband and I knew The Sorrento Hotel was the venue we wanted when we first walked into the hotel. This Seattle landmark on first hill has a very intimate, romantic feel, with dark woods and dark red/ gold carpets/ decor. Perfect for a smaller wedding, we tightly fit 100 guests, would not recommend more than that. However, we were dissapointed by the unreliable staff and organization at the hotel for our wedding.
PROS- the building, the food, the Seattle landscape views, easy valet parking for guests. CONS- 1. Turn around of director of events. We loved the initial director of events who was to oversee our wedding. However, there was a great deal of turn around in the 6 months prior to our wedding, and we were on our third director by the time our wedding occurred. (The last change occuring just 1 week before our wedding). The person who ended up "overseeing" our wedding was a fill-in. We felt this definitely affected the flow and organization of our wedding. Thank goodness we had a good DOW coordinator. 2. The hotel reservations department. Many of our guests wanted to spend the night, many had difficulties making reservations (booked in multiple rooms, or the wrong type of room, or could not "find" our discounted room rate promised when we signed our contract. 3. Set up/ clean up service. I requested to see the ceremony room before the wedding and reception. However, I could not find the "director" to let me in the room when it was finished, before guests arrived. The next morning, we had to look through piles of the hotels linens to find our rented chair covers to return. Also, the cake platter we rented was missing and took over an hour to find, as we were checking out.
Overall, our wedding day was great because my husband and I were surrounded by great family and friends, and most of our vendors were very helpful. However, as much as I love the Sorrento as a hotel and landmark I could not reccomend it for a wedding due to the lack of organization and reliability.
It was elegant and the staff was very accommodating.;When you have your wedding/reception at sorrento, you also recieve the penthouse suite for the evening...it was fantastic!
