My husband Mike and I got married 10/20/18 and thank our lucky stars we chose the Hyatt Regency at Exchange Place for our reception, room block and next-day brunch! In the lead-up, we worked with Nicole and Melissa, who are both lovely, creativ...e, and ultra-organized. They and their team are true professionals with a clear passion and talent for what they do. Each step of the planning process was made so clear and simple, we enjoyed every second of it. And what is more, each member of the Hyatt team you meet are the same way: so kind, and so polished - and that goes for every time we’ve visited for a Sunday breakfast, weekend evening drinks, and our wedding weekend. The reception staff, the restaurant staff and bartenders, the valet team - all really represent the best.
Both Nicole and Melissa were on hand and incredible the day of the wedding, but really that day our main point of contact was Daniel. We loved him and cannot say enough about him. Oh wow, does he know how to make what can be a hectic morning into a total breeze. He was such a beautiful and vital part of our wedding day, we are so grateful to him. With a quick wit and charm, he is patient, knowledgeable and so competent - he perfectly coordinated our photographer, the guest buses, the limos, moving us (separately) into the suite on the day-of, our band - everything. He brought us some cocktail hour goodies while Mike and I enjoyed a quiet moment on our suite balcony looking down at our guests enjoying themselves, made sure we got special poses in pictures based on his experience, helped us to navigate the cake cutting (we wanted to cut it, but without breaking up the party, so he guided us just as dinner was ending), loads of other things, and most memorable of all: saved the day before our first dance! When we visited the reception space just before the guests came up, we realized the dancefloor was as slick against Mikes brand new tux shoes. We panicked, knowing he couldn’t possibly dance that way - but Daniel quickly said “I know what to do, we’ve got this.” Drawing on his years as a dancer and actor, dipped a napkin in Coca Cola and coated the soles of Mikes shoes and let them dry for a minute... complete success. We sailed through our dance, and enjoyed every second.
The food and alcohol at the Hyatt are top of the line. The food really is incredible - we cannot day enough about the chef. The tasting was a blast and it was hard to narrow down to our favorites (went with ribeye and hazelnut apricot chicken,), and the hors d’oeuvres were all divine. The cake from Carlos (carrot cake for 2 layers and chocolate ganache/fresh strawberries for the other) was included in the package and was beautiful and delicious - so soft and fresh.
We had guests from around the world visiting for our wedding - and everyone is still raving about the incredible time they had! It was the best time, and we will cherish each memory. The view, the ballroom, guestrooms, lobby bar, staff, and everything about this hotel is perfect. The team are incredibly hard working and excellent at their jobs - we absolutely recommend them for weddings and all other events. They were a big part in making our wedding day perfect - thank you! -Kathleen and Michael
