Where do I even begin?! Working with the Ida Rose team was the best decision we made in our wedding planning process. We got married in June 2024 in Charleston, SC - so, a destination wedding given my husband and I live in DC. We worked with Edwin as our lead planner, and I can genuinely say that he became a close friend (dare I say best friend) by time it was actually our big day. I have a very demanding job, which prevented me from making progress. But, I am also quite Type A, so I had a hard time letting go of the reins. Edwin understood this and helped me organize all wedding-related details. He took the time to learn how I worked (I am very visual) and presented ideas and proposals to me in a way that allowed me to make decisions. His calming nature took away a lot of stress from a naturally stressful process.
Edwin is such a fun person so all of our planning meetings were refreshing. In addition, Edwin has impeccable style and a great eye, so you know your event will be jaw-dropping from the florals to the tables. He is also very great at understanding what is most important to the couple on the day and strives hard to make your "must-haves" and even "nice-to-haves" all come true in some way, shape, or form.
While we worked closely with Edwin for over a year to prepare, we also got to work with Laura (founder), Erica (she was my bridal concierge), Lauren (she made social media content), and Hayley (she was the groom's concierge) throughout the entire wedding weekend. We had a jam-packed weekend with multiple events, and I must say they are truly the A team! My friends and family felt so taken care of throughout the wedding events, and everyone was well-informed of where to go and what to do. They run a tight ship to make sure the events go as smoothly as possible, while remaining incredibly respectful and professional. So many of my guests gave compliments on how they were impressed with the team. My father, who I must admit thought I was crazy for spending money on a wedding planner, ate his words once he saw how well the Ida Rose team executed our wedding weekend. He doesn't give compliments easily, and he gave many to Edwin - it was lovely to see! My mother, aunt, and friends were all obsessed with Edwin and the rest of the Ida Rose team by the end of the events. Shoutout to Laura for also being so inspirational as a boss female business-owner!
I was so sad when the weekend was over because it meant that I no longer got to speak Edwin and the Ida Rose team every week :( no worries though, I still stay close to the team because they have become an important part of our life - they can't get rid of me now ;)
If you're thinking of hiring Ida Rose for your wedding, stop looking elsewhere and book right away. Every team member is an amazing event planner, and they are all even better people :)

Highly recommend Ida Rose for your event planning needs! Our planner Edwin was so wonderful to collaborate with throughout our entire wedding planning process. He helped line us up with a very clear and concise timeline that ensured we were on-top of hiring vendors in a specific order and hit all targeted “planning goals” so we were ahead of the game and never had to compromise with our vision or budget. He also was ESSENTIAL in coordinating everything the month prior to our wedding — and of course while on-site that weekend — so all my husband and I had to do was sit back and enjoy. Edwin was also fully invested in my overall “design vision” and ensured every visual detail was perfectly executed, which as an interior designer I am very grateful for.
I got married on 10/15/22 and I am so happy we hired IDA ROSE! I ended up choosing their partial planning package because I had researched and hired all of the vendors myself (originally was just going to get a month-of coordinator) but I needed help with design and the rest of the planning details. Edwin Hernandez was our Lead Event Planner & Designer and I absolutely LOVE him! I wanted someone who was going to take my vision and make it a reality and he and his team did exactly that. One of the main reasons my husband and I hired a wedding planner was because we wanted to be 100% present and be able to enjoy our wedding day instead of having to run around handling crises or logistics and we loved that Edwin had a team working him the day of the wedding and they handled absolutely everything! Shout out to Natalie who was my bridal concierge who bustled my dress, held my lipstick, fixed my hair, acted as a bee catcher, and literally changed and tied my shoes for me when it was time for dancing. My husband and I agree that hiring IDA ROSE was a great decision. The venue looked beautiful, Edwin handled all of the vendors, issues, decor set up, and timing, and we got to fully enjoy our wedding day and it was exactly how we hoped it would turn out. 10/10 recommend!
Simply put, Laura and her team at Ida Rose Events and Design ensured that our daughter's wedding was absolutely perfect -- beyond perfect, enchanted. From planning the event to managing the wedding day itself, every detail, no matter how small, was masterfully handled. Anytime we needed something, they were right at hand. And perhaps most important, they were a constant, calming influence. We could not recommend Ida Rose Events more highly!
I seriously don't know what I would've done without Edwin by my side throughout this wedding planning process. Not only is he a true professional at what he does, he was able to create a safe, calm space that connected us to him in a way that we will cherish him as a lifelong friend. Our wedding felt like a dream filled with so much love and joy. Of course there'd be hiccups throughout, but it truly felt perfect. Everyone kept on telling us how they felt all of the love and happiness not only in us but amongst all of our guests which was the most important! We're so appreciative of the entire Ida Rose team for making such a special day the best day it could be. We already miss it and can't wait for the next event we get to plan with them!
Where do I even begin? The lead planner Edwin was a godsend during my wedding planning. Planning a wedding during covid/ let alone in 4 months was stressful. Edwin was there not only as my planner but as a true friend and made the whole experience fun! He gave me many fun ideas and helped bring my vision to life. When it came to the day of the wedding my only focus was enjoying it all, I didnt have a worry in the world. Everything else was being taken care of behind the scenes, he was always one step ahead . Aside from the professionalism, and amazing eye for detail, he has such a big heart and truly wants the best for you! OH and he made sure my husband and I ate our entire dinner and were fully hydrated before the party started.
We had the pleasure of working with Edwin from The IDA Rose team and let me tell you that to this day my husband and I both agree it was the best decision we made. We had our wedding in the fall of 2020 and with a pandemic everything seemed like it was falling apart even our venue closed down and so we opted to move our wedding to our new home that was undergoing some remodeling but also due to covid delays was not gonna be ready in time for the wedding. Edwin came in and saw our vision amidst the missing wall in our kitchen. When We look back we laugh wondering what he really thought but he not once let it show that this was a problem. We hired Edwin for month of coordination and let tell you that within that month our wedding truly came together because of him. Once Edwin took over all the missing things fell into place. I had scouted all over for a last minute videographer Edwin found me 3 options in under 24 hours that were available and ready to go for our wedding date. When we didn’t have draping Edwin found us the person for the look that we wanted.
Edwin took our open concept and created what felt like different rooms with different atmospheres come to life. When things didn’t fall into our original design I let him make the decisions for what he thought would be best and he did not disappoint. No rehearsal for ceremony? no problem! with Edwin’s cues it went flawlessly. Everything was absolutely perfect. He gathered all of our wedding vendors from florist, rentals, catering, hair and makeup and created a flawless timeline and let me tell you that day I really didn’t have to worry about a thing. I woke up with a smile and went to bed with a smile knowing everything was taken care of and thanks to one of the assistants of the IDA rose team I even had left over appetizers to snack on for later hahaha it was absolute perfection. To this day we think of Edwin as our friend and design god and cannot wait to work with him again and if he’s reading this to maybe hang out with us just because hehe that’s just how great of a person he is. The person that isn’t just there because it’s his job but that person that makes you feel like he’s that friend that is there no matter what. The friend you can laugh and cry with. Don’t think about hiring Edwin or the IDA rose team twice. They are the absolute best!
We initially planned on handling all the planning ourselves and using a relative for day of coordination. What a mistake! We found out about 4 months out we desperately needed some professional help and finding Ida Rose Events for Month and Day of Planning was the best decision we made.
We worked with Erica at Ida Rose as our month of and day of coordinator, and boy did she save our butts. We would not have made it through the last few weeks and the chaos of the day without her expert guidance and amazing support. Especially as the stress of all the little details began taking their toll.
Erica hit the ground running just about the 1 month out mark and immediately helped calm our nerves taking over most of the direct communications with our vendors and helping us make key late-in-the game decisions, especially when we had minor challenges reaching our venue coordinator with questions and some key deadlines approaching to provide them required information. Erica was instrumental especially in getting the walkthrough set up with the venue on a short turnaround, and leading that walkthrough, which took a lot of stress off of us!
On the day of, Erica was a wizard. She was bending time and space to be everywhere she was needed (especially with the Bride who, admittedly, was a bit overwhelmed the entire day and would probably not have enjoyed it if not for Erica’s reassuring presence)! Everything went smoothly, even when our other vendors tried to hijack the timeline a little, and made sure we as close to on schedule as possible, and were well taken care of throughout the day.
Our reception space was decorated perfectly to the bride’s expectation and as communicated. Everything was beautiful and we received many a compliment from guests on decor, which Erica and team basically handled with very little direction from us! We appreciated their selections and placement for the copious amounts of decorations we brought with us. Everything looked spectacular.
We also just have to say thank you for her patience! It wasn’t the easiest of group of personalities (/cough our mothers in particular), and she handled everything perfectly. She made sure we were enjoying ourselves first and foremost, which we greatly appreciated, and shielded us where necessary from potential stressors.
Also, her Tetris skills are very commendable, as I’ve never seen someone pack more stuff so efficiently in a car after the reception to make sure everything found its way back to us post-cleanup.

Alex Berry was the lead planner for our wedding in Washington, DC in March. We initially hired Alex for month of wedding coordination only, then broadened her scope of work to include finding and booking vendors for transportation and entertainment.
Alex is positive and punctual, and good at thinking on her feet. She made our lives easier! When we asked for help finding a bus company and DJ, Alex gave us a small selection of quality options that fit our budget and helped us make quick decisions on both. Her suggestions for budgeting out food and drinks for the reception were on target. And Alex handled the majority of contact with our vendors and venues in the final weeks before our wedding taking some work off of our plates.
Alex’s day of plan was thorough and thoughtful and her day of team was great as well. With Alex’s help, our guests moved seamlessly and on time across the city between the hotel, ceremony, reception and to the afterparty. Alex and her team were a useful extra set of hands to coordinate our vendors and help them and our families as needed throughout the day.
Alex gets an A+ in our book. We would recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding planner in the DC area!
I ended up hiring Laura for a full wedding planning package - she helped with every part of the experience. The only thing she didn't do was make our invitation list... Everything else was handled! Both me and my now husband are busy professionals, so Laura quickly picked up on what we wanted and brought it to life with limited management. She designed everything, managed all the logistics, and tracked down everything she needed to make it happen. During the wedding day, one of her people was always right around the corner. It was an absolute delight working with Laura and her team!

I was a little nervous about hiring a Day of Event Coordinator because I am so Type A and it was the first wedding out of our daughters but I hired Laura and I don't regret it for one minute. Laura is on top of everything, every detail, and her goal was to help make this day perfect and she did that. I was able to let go and enjoy my daughter getting married. She is extremely professional and very nice on top of that. The groom said he felt like he had known her for a long time. Her team was terrific and they made our venue even prettier with their touches. I will definitely use her for my two other daughters. Best decision ever!!!
The best decision we made during our wedding planning process was hiring Laura and Ida Rose Events. Laura is the real life Olivia Pope. She is incredibly professional and remains calm no matter what comes her way. I cannot recommend Laura and her team enough. They are hands down the best there is.

We love Laura of IdaRose Events! She made one of the best days of our lives so much easier and more beautiful than we even dreamed possible! Laura has an innate ability to take glimmers of an idea and turn them into amazing reality. My daughter and I had different visions of what her wedding should be like and Laura was able to find many ways that our ideas could blend and become a day that we were all happy with. I had to be talked into hiring a wedding coordinator, but it was truly the best use of our wedding budget and resulted in tremendous peace of mind on what could’ve been a frantic day. Laura is a total delight to work with! She is thoughtful, efficient and focused, and makes you feel like your event is the most important one on her mind at all times. She also has wonderful resources and vendors. I have 2 more daughters and I hope we’ll have other weddings to work on together some day!
I ended up planning my DC wedding from Texas, and interviewed several planners and very well-known event design companies. I couldn't be happier that I went with Laura. Not only did our styles completely click, she absolutely anticipated any need I (or my family) might have during the whole process. She was great about working with me to find the best deals while really preserving the look and feel that I wanted for my wedding. She can do it all, from ultra glam, to rustic or modern casual. Honestly, she was the best money we spent on the whole thing, and I literally don't know how I could have done it without her. She is the epitome of what you want in a wedding planner, coordinator AND event designer, I couldn't recommend her or IDA ROSE more.

Was very happy and satisfied with Laura and her entire team. She was very responsive, and it was harder to get us on the phone than her on the phone! When you, as a couple or a family, are spending a large sum on a very special day, it makes a lot of sense and provides a much peace of mind to have Laura guiding you through it. Our venue provided a lot of the wedding aspects like linens and catering, and Laura's day-of wedding planning was perfect for us in terms of having her interact with the vendors we had already chosen (as opposed to a wedding planner from Day One choosing the vendors for/with us). The expense was absolutely worth it, and there were aspects she thought of that we never did or would have. Highly recommend.
Laura absolutely crushed it for our wedding. She made everything run smoothly and to plan, and kept us above the stress. Not only is she just lovely to be around, she clearly knows her stuff, can handle even the most annoying logistical issues quickly and with grace. Looking back, I probably would have leaned on her a bit more during the months before the wedding!
We got married at a somewhat nontraditional venue with a lot of rules that made your standard event planning process a bit more difficult. Laura helped us figure out the best way to handle transportation, set up, deliveries, everything even when the venue folks were less than helpful.
My husband and I had such an amazing time at our wedding and everything was absolutely exactly what we had hoped, due in large part to Laura and her team.
