Irresistible Mess Bridal Hair & Makeup

Where to begin. Tara is the nicest, sweetest, most talented hair stylist. I have long, straight, doesn't hold a curl hair. And of course, I wanted half up/half down all curled hair for my wedding. I was amazed at my trial when my hair (well most of it) was still holding a curl the next day. Knowing I have hard to curl hair, Tara had me check in with her to let her know how my hair was doing throughout the day. Let her know a few pieces fell, but for the most part it was holding strong. Day of the wedding, she had a game plan to make sure my hair held for as long as possible - setting my hair in curls early (grandma hair) and styling last. After all of the photos and dancing, my hair was still holding a curl at 11:30pm. Magic!! I truly had the best experience with Tara! I would hire her again, and again. She was also amazing with my two flower girls. One of my flower girls HATES people touching her hair, but Tara was able to curl her hair and give her two braids. Her IG is actually where I found her - lots of great photos there of her work. She hadn't released her 2022 calendar when I was looking to book her. She can do any hair style, but her boho, slightly rustic vibe was everything I wanted. I think I booked her the day she opened up her 2022 calendar. No regrets; one of the best decisions.

Tara and Jamie were the sweetest ladies I got to work with! I had a trial look months before the wedding and they really listened to what I hoped to achieve on the wedding day. They were so fun to be around and we talked about life like I've known them before. On the day of, they were very professional and made sure everyone was taken care of. The schedule sent to me was followed accordingly and we weren't behind at all. Tara made sure to work with me on the schedule because there were people traveling far so we had to accomplish a different time for them. Jamie worked her magic on my make up, and we built it until it was the perfect shade for me! My makeup complimented my skin, in a way that it didn't take over my face completely. I wanted the natural but bronzy look and she did just that! I really loved the look and it wasn't hard to do a touch up on because it stayed for a long time! For my hair, I had 3 different looks for 3 different outfits and somehow, Tara was able to make those possible for me in a one day event. I loved the look because it was able to enhance my dress in a way I could have never imagined! The best thing about them is that they're great at communicating! That was super important for wedding planning. I can go on and on but I think they did an amazing job overall and really helped me look my best and very pretty on our wedding day!

I truly had the best experience with Tara and would hire her again in a heartbeat! My hair is very straight and does not hold a curl. I wanted a half-up/half-down design (most of which feature curls) and have had bad experiences in the past with other stylists. Tara is as sweet as she is knowledgeable and absolutely knocked it out of the park. My hair held all day (even after many hours on the dance floor) and genuinely enjoyed my trial because I felt so heard by Tara. We played around with different styles during my trial and had so much fun. Come my wedding day, Tara perfectly recreated what we had discussed a few weeks prior, which limited my stress the day-of. All of my bridesmaids loved her too. I could go on and on - I really don't have enough positive things to say about Tara :)

Without a doubt, book Tara (and Jamie) for your hair and makeup for your wedding day. Tara and her team did my hair and makeup along with 8 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, and two mothers and we were all so blown away by their talent, professionalism, and timing of everything. A year ago, after some Covid 2020 tension we were actually able to have my son’s wedding! We were all SO grateful that it was all actually happening and sweet Jamie and Tara were such a delightful addition to the day! So.....talent aside, having the RIGHT people in the brides room is essential! These ladies were such a sweet, calm and encouraging presence for all of us. AND, they made this 50+ year old mama feel so pretty. Of course the whole party of teens and 20 somethings were complete knockouts and the bride was particularly breathtaking when Jamie and Tara got through with them. And the mama of the bride was stunning. We would all highly recommend trusting them on your big day, both are such good listeners to each request, are so creative, talented and a ton of fun to be around!

I would highly recommend Irresistible Mess to anyone looking for a bridal stylist! I booked Tara for myself, three moms and four bridesmaids for my wedding in San Marcos. She did an AMAZING job with everyone and genuinely cared about making sure everyone was 100% satisfied with their hair. Everyone wanted a different style and she completely nailed it…everyone looked so beautiful! I received so many compliments, and it still looked perfect by the end of the night! I wanted to write this review because the service I received was beyond anything I could have ever wanted on my wedding day. And if you are looking for who to ask for, make the smart move and ask for Tara. Tara from the moment I met her made me feel comfortable and put me at ease. I went to her for my consultation nervous that she would not be able to tame my crazy hair and I would have to just settle on a style. But she took her time and made me feel special, wanted to hear my opinion and showed me different styles until I said yes. On my wedding day she came to my hotel to work on my brides maids where she continued to make everyone feel comfortable and happy to be there. She made us smile and laugh with her personality. Tara then met us at the venue and worked on my hair still bringing her positivity to what can be a stressful day. Her prices were more than fair and I received five star celebrity treatment. I would recommend her every time to every person I meet. Thank you Tara for making me feel beautiful on my wedding day.

My fiancé and I just had to cancel our wedding due to a travel ban/coronavirus issues, but I still want to leave reviews for the people we worked with during the planning process. Tara was so awesome, and I had an amazing bridal preview experience with her. My hair and makeup were perfect! I am not local to San Diego and she was so accommodating of my schedule and might be the nicest person I've ever met. She also planned a great timeline to complete all the hair and makeup for my bridesmaids, without having to force everyone to wake up too early. I'm bummed that we didn't get to work with each other on my wedding day, but I based on my bridal preview I know my hair and makeup would have been stunning!

Tara is AMAZING! First of all, she is literally the sweetest person! She did my hair for my wedding this past October and it was absolutely perfect! It held all night and I didn't have to worry about it at all. All my bridesmaids also loved their hair and were so happy with how it turned out. Tara and Jamie were the fantastic duo who helped me and my mom get ready for my recent wedding. We were running quite a bit behind (through no fault of theirs) and Tara was an absolutely life saver, going above and beyond to make sure all the little details were taken care of - steaming my mother’s dress, taking the dog out for a walk and making two separate trips to first drive me and then my mother to the wedding venue. This is all on top of the wonderful job Tara and Jamie did with our hair and makeup. I couldn’t have picked a better team to get me ready for my wedding. I've already deleted what I wrote twice because nothing seems to be good enough. Tara is not only talented at doing hair, but her as a person, let me tell you...100!!!!!! She is the sweetest, most excepting, calm, beautiful woman I have met in a long time! I am so lucky to have found her to do my hair on such a special day. Just being there calmed me (cuz I was emotional and exhausted), and she knew just the right things to say. This kind of personality ended up meaning more to me then how my hair turned out. Now, let's not forget about her team. She knows and works with some talented ladies. One of her girls named Gina did my makeup and was just as calming as she was. She allowed me to critique every step of the way with absolutely no annoyances. All they both wanted was for me as the bride to feel beautiful no matter how the process went. We worked together as a team and it all turned out perfect! Ladies, I can't rave about her enough!!! Hire her. That's all I have to say!

Tara was such a joy to work with! She is the sweetest ever and it is apparent how deeply she cares about doing her best to make sure she meets every expectation for your hair. When I saw myself in the mirror for the first time, I could not even believe how amazing my hair looked- I felt like a princess and she gave me exactly what I had asked for. Tara is the sweetest and an absolute joy all around! She responds to emails/texts in a flash, punctual, knows what she’s doing, and has so much fun doing it. Tara is amazing! I live in Seattle and was able to squeeze in a trial run with her while in town a few months before the wedding. Okay brides, listen up... When I was searching for a hair stylist I was FREAKING OUT! My hairdresser recently just moved and I had to find another person to do my hair for the wedding. I came across Tara's page on The Knot and immediately contacted her. She responded right away within a day which made me feel very pleased. I scheduled a wedding hair trial with Tara and I felt super comfortable with her. She was so happy and sweet. I loved that because I didn't want someone who made me feel not comfortable especially, on my wedding day. When we were finished with my hair trial, I knew that I wanted Tara for my wedding day. A week or so before the wedding, Tara texted me an outline of the hair schedule for each bridesmaid and me (the bride). I loved that because it was one less thing I had to worry about. On the wedding day, she arrived on time and was ecstatic just as much as everyone else. Everyone looked absolutely beautiful and stunning! I highly recommend Tara! Tara is an amazing hairstylist. Those are hard to come by these days. She is professional, organized and a great listener. She is everything a bride could ask for.
