Kay and Haley and their incredible team crafted a custom menu highlighting our food traditions here in Birmingham and the groom's food traditions from Shreveport, Louisiana. The dishes were delicious as well as inventive ... passed filet mignon... bites with balsamic syrup; butternut squash tarts with goat cheese mousse; bite-size oyster po'boys; perfectly roasted shrimp and Alabama grit cakes; a biscuit bar with barbecue pork hand pies, hot chicken biscuits and an orange-bourbon cane syrup biscuit; a beautiful noshing table for the cocktail time with smoked trout mousse on sweet potato chips, black eye pea hummus, Alabama-made sausage and amazing cheeses. They also created two signature cocktails, which were delicious. People are still talking about this food! Iz took care of all the tables and chairs and linen and serve ware rentals and brought beautiful, substantial things; we loved the large wine glasses. Also, I should note that they took very good care of the bride and groom with a private dinner during the guests' cocktail time. Finally, they had to move everything inside our venue at the last minute because of the threat of rain (Hurricane Nate), and they did so seamlessly. The new layout worked perfectly! As the mother of the bride, it was so wonderful to know that they were taking charge and making any necessary adjustments. I didn't have to worry about a single thing. Each server was friendly and helpful and didn't seem at all fazed by the last-minute changes. I knew Iz Catering would do a great job, but, really, they all exceeded my expectations. This was the most fun wedding I've ever attended ... and the most delicious!
