We postponed our wedding by an entire year due to Covid, and Jackie was very understanding of our situation and kind enough to not charge us extra which we really appreciated. She and MyMy were punctual and professional. Not sure how she does it, but hers was the only makeup I've EVER had that did not streak or smudge the entire day despite dancing all night. Jackie really knows how to play up her brides' features and hide the things they feel insecure about. I got compliments about my hair and makeup all day, with people saying my skin looked like glass. I normally feel very self conscious about how I look in photos, but Jackie worked her magic and I love my look in our wedding photos! Jackie was able to make my hair look voluminous and exactly the way I envisioned it despite me not having a ton of hair. I was impressed at how well it stayed put and how the curls in the front of my updo laid well and did not fall in the front of my face even after dancing. So glad I entrusted her on our wedding day!

ds down Jackie was the first person I knew I needed to have. I checked in with her very early on in my planning just to secure her for my big day and was willing to change my date just to have her! (this alone speaks VOLUMES). If you are Asian, I am sure you have googled "asian makeup artists near me" at one point or another because you want to be 100% confident that your makeup artist not only understands the unique features and skin tone/texture of an Asian face, but can enhance them in the most beautiful way. Jackie is that person for you! I recently received the professional photos from my wedding and now, reflecting on these photos, I am so glad I went with Jackie. I looked like me, but the best version of me on that day. My last comment is this: I know weddings can become costly--fast and, in your most stressful moment, you might even convince yourself/be tempted to do your own hair and makeup in a frantic effort to save money. But consider this: sure, it's only one day, but the photos truly are a lifetime. Jackie is a vendor worth investing in. Her patience, kindness, and attention to every minute detail are worth it. covid leaving Jackie to do HMU for not only me but both my sister and mom. This was not part of the original scope as Jackie was only contracted to do my HMU. She let me know of the situation right away and graciously offered to take on the additional work which we so appreciated!! Even though we didn’t know until about a week before my wedding, she made me feel a sense of comfort knowing she could handle the 3 of us regardless. This helped so much as there are so many other moving parts leading up to a wedding, so having been able not to worry about HMU was so helpful! Even though we had to start super early that morning, Jackie wanted to make sure she took her time with each of us and transformed my mom and sister completely. We so appreciated this and did not feel rushed whatsoever! I had never seen my mom so happy being dolled up and I know she enjoyed the experience with Jackie. My sister also said even being a bridesmaid previously she’s never had her HMU done like this before. Jackie did her thing! We were able to get our HMU done in the comfort of my own home and Jackie made it easy getting here on time, setting up quickly and finishing on time. When I tell you it was more than I imagined, it literally was the case as I went through this with NO trial. I trusted Jackie enough by looking at her reviews and pictures. Full transparency: Another reason I passed on the trial was also the price as Jackie alone is on the higher end, BUT was well worth it on my special day. We had previous conversations about what I wanted and it was almost like she read my mind, that’s how I knew we were going to execute my vision and she certainly did just that. I received so many compliments that day and night and my make up and hair stayed on almost until the next day! I’d recommend JackieSuArtistry to any bride in the SoCal region. Thanks again Jackie!!

I ended up doing a trial with her for my engagement shoot and booked her and her team for myself and a few of my bridesmaids for my big day. I have truly never felt more beautiful! Brides - good hair and makeup is NOT something you want to skimp out on. You spend so much time, effort, and money into planning your big day, and it is so important to feel your best! You want hair and make up that is going to last all day, photograph well, and make you feel beautiful. Jackie was able to accomplish all of that. During the trial, I had specific requests and wanted my makeup certain way which was different from what Jackie usually did but she was very patient with me and made adjustments for me. And of course, my hair and makeup on the wedding day looked gorgeous! She did it exactly the way I wanted it! It stayed on the whole day and I never had to fix anything. I don't usually wear much makeup and my fiance was nervous because he likes a more natural look on me without false lashes and contouring etc. but he loved how Vanessa did my makeup! She perfectly captured what I was going for in a timely manner. You can tell that she prides herself on her work and I am happy to have worked with her. I did have a bit of trouble getting a hold of the owner Jackie, who handled the business end of everything, but once I started texting her instead of trying to communicate through email things went much more smoothly. BIG DAY and gave me great suggestions on my hair and makeup. I got overwhelmed with too many choices on pinterests and basically wanted them all (the greedy bride). Jackie totally understood and found a hairstyle that perfectly matched the theme and style of my wedding dress. In the end, I had baby breaths interwoven into a single braid. It was simple, yet exquisite. The hair stayed perfectly in place throughout the entire day, despite the exhaustive lists of activities that day. My makeup was flawless as well. I had super dry skin that day, probably because of the lack of sleep that my body had endured while planning the wedding, so I was worried that my skin would look horrible. Jackie made it work though. The makeup was natural and it was everything I had hoped for. My bridesmaids loved their hair and makeup as well. Jackie’s team was prompt and was very professional. As I 'Heart' one after the other, I noticed that the trending photos linked back to a user by the handle of 'JackieSuArtistry.' I perused and perused through the rows of photos, each client with flawless hair and makeup. I eventually contacted Jackie for a price list. I was slightly on a time (and budget) crunch as my engagement shoot was approaching. Since I was a bit apprehensive about spending money to have my makeup done, I decided to have a Beauty Stylist at Nordstroms do my makeup instead. While it turned out okay, I was not completely content with the turnout. Some weeks pass by and I finally decided to reach out to Jackie for a trial session. Jackie is an amazing artist to work with! She is patient, soft-spoken, easy going, and excels immensely in her craft. During the trial, I shared with Jackie some photos of makeup and hairstyles that I was interested in. After a brief consultation, Jackie began her magic. Unlike some hair stylists that I've encountered, I appreciated Jackie's gentle approach in handling my hair. She treated each strand and section with caution. When it came time to my makeup, I liked how Jackie gradually worked towards the look I wanted. She listened, suggested and explain why some looks/technique worked and why some wouldn't. A wedding is a day where the bride will be heavily photographed, so I truly appreciated her input in ensuring that I look nothing less than flawless. I left Jackie's fully content with my trial and had no qualms nor hesitation to book her for my wedding. My only regret was not reaching out to her earlier for my engagement shoot! On the day of my wedding, Jackie did not only my hair and makeup, but the makeup of two of my bridesmaids as well! Everyone gave rave feedback on how happy they were with their looks, one of the gals even kept the makeup on til the next day (I definitely would have done the same!) It's been a couple of weeks since the wedding and my Mom mentioned again how she thought Jackie did a great job with all of our makeup! She commented how our skins looked smooth and flawless, even at the tail end of the evening. I am so happy that I didn't fickle around and drive myself crazy contemplating on who to do my wedding makeup. I'm a gal of instinct and glad I went with Jackie! first. She is so sweet and easy to talk to, it was like talking to a friend. I showed her a few images of the hair and makeup that I wanted done and she looked at them and gave me what I wanted. I also told her that my second location was going to be at Laguna Beach so she curled my hair tighter and advised me that the saltwater will loosen up my hair dramatically so if possible, to shoot at the beach last. She also gave me many tips and advice on skincare and makeup. She is so nice. Once the engagement shoot was over and I saw how wonderful the hair and makeup looked on film, I booked her for my wedding. Jackie was easy to get in contact with by email and by phone. I would text her in the later evenings and she would get back to me quickly. I hired her to do the hair and makeup for myself, my mom, my sister (not involved with bridal party), my 3 bridesmaids, and the flower girl's hair only. Jackie and her team arrived at our hotel room exactly at 5am and started to work on our hair and makeup. They did a wonderful job, I loved the makeup and hair on my bridesmaids. My hair and makeup was perfect and lasted all day. I definitely recommend Jackie for weddings and any other special occasions you may have. Jackie focused on me on my special day. She knows what she is doing and is a true professional. it was 95 degrees during my wedding ceremony and my makeup stayed on the ENTIRE night. She provides you with a touch-up kit also just in case! Amazing job Jackie. Jackie WILL make you look and feel amazing. I Promise!

I starting feeling nervous about doing this myself and started searching for a makeup artist. I had hired a makeup artist for my mom, mother in law, and maid of honor, so why not one for myself, right? Two weeks before my wedding, I booked an appointment with Jackie for the trial. I loved that she listened to my concerns, but more importantly, I was impressed by her talent. Jackie answered all my frantic emails promptly and professionally. I kept changing things on her, making suggestions, and requesting different things days leading up to my wedding and she remained sweet and understanding. Never did she respond frustrated or rudely. Jackie arrived to the venue 15 minutes early and was so sweet! More importantly, she did an extraordinary job with my makeup. She airbrushed me and my skin, the contouring, the blush, highlighting and all looked flawless. I could have never accomplished that look with my own makeup, let alone cover all the imperfections. Since I have hooded eyes, the eyeshadow application was one of my biggest concerns. That was not a problem for Jackie. My hooded eyelids have never been so happy and pretty! Haha I provided Jackie with my own eye makeup because there are certain brands and products I prefer over others, and that was not a problem for her. She used them, but she has excellent products as well. I bought my own eyelashes from Mac (but she has her own) and she applied them on me. They never fell out (unlike my maid of honor's). (-_-) They wouldn't come off the next day either...which is a good thing. I'd rather struggle to take them off than to run 15 minutes before the ceremony to the nearest drug store to buy glue for my eyelashes, ugh! Bridal makeup is not in my comfort zone, that's why it's a once in a lifetime deal, so the day of the trial I felt strange and uncomfortable. My husband loved it and so did I, but it's important to remember that this dramatic look is necessary for the pictures. I disagreed with this for a long time, but now I understand what they mean. On my wedding day, I felt and looked beautiful. I was the most skeptical and critical of professional bridal makeup, but thanks to Jackie, I felt gorgeous and confident (the snug dress is a completely different story)! My only regret is not hiring her to do my hair as well. The trial hair wasn't what I wanted, but that's why it's important to book with sufficient time so you can play around with different styles and communicate that to your hairstylist. That was not my case, but if I could do it all over, I'd trust her with my hair and stop being so picky and just let her do her job. She knows what she is doing. If I wouldn't have been so picky during the trial, I'm sure she would have fixed my hair up nicely. Unfortunately, I didn't give her the chance. Jackie, if you're reading this, know that I love your work and will hire you again for future events and I am referring you to all my friends and family. I also had a trial with her which I highly recommend as it lets her narrow down what you want and doesn't waste any time on your special day! They were super accommodating and listened to what each girl wanted and made sure that everyone felt beautiful! They started make-up at 7:30am and no one needed any touch-ups (except lipstick) for the whole day (my wedding ended close to midnight). I highly recommend Jackie - very friendly, professional, great products, listens to you, and tries to give you exactly what you want. Thank you for making me and my girls feel so beautiful!

After my trial with Jackie I knew immediately that I was going to book her the makeup was just perfect and the hair too . I brought her a picture of how i wanted my hair and makeup and she copied it exactly.. whole time also making sure i liked everything or if wanted anything changed.. Her prices are also very reasonable. I am so happy to have her be a part of my wedding!! I got soooooo many compliments on the makeup and everyone was asking me who did the makeup and hair cuz it was amazing!!!.. Jackie is very sweet and so is her staff .They arrived on time and were polite and easy t to work with. I cant wait to go to another event so I can have Jackie do my hair and Makeup again. !! All my bridesmaids also brought pics of the hair and make up they wanted and Jackie and her staff did exactly what they wanted they were all happy and looked gorgeous. ugh, and incredibly talented! Even before I met my husband, I knew exactly how I wanted my hair and makeup for my wedding. I was very picky about what I wanted. I have very fine hair and wanted big volume and long curls (what I call "Disney Princess" hair) and Jackie delivered just that, without making me look cartoonish. I truly looked glamorous. I normally hate attention, but she made me look so beautiful that I was beaming with confidence. The photographer would show me pictures as she took them and every time I would gasp "Wow, is that me??" Jackie also did my bridesmaids and mother, and all were so happy with her work and her assistant Julie's. We started early in the morning (5:30am) and Jackie was punctual and energetic. I highly, highly recommend her!

On the day of my wedding, Jackie arrived promptly and got started right away. My final look was AMAZING. It was so much more than I could have imagined. She created a look that I have envisioned but could not put into words. My hair up-do was so unique, chic but had a touch of vintage/couture. I was in love with it. I had so many compliments and felt so beautiful and comfortable. She even had to make last minute changes because I'm such an indecisive bride. My makeup stayed on ALL DAY. My biggest problem with makeup is that it does not stay and eventually will flake or become blotchy. I was so surprised that from 9am to 11PM, my makeup held up and I was still looking good! wishes. Jackie is very dedicated and it shows through how she does her business and her work. My makeup was everything that I wanted and my hair stayed on tack the whole night. I just felt really beautiful and so elegant that day. My one concern about bridal makeup was having air brush foundation and as weird as it felt applying to the face, Jackie was so careful. I wish I can apply makeup as well as she does, but I am so grateful and happy that she was available on my wedding date. Jackie is truly talented at what she does. She is a beautiful person inside and out and it was such a delight to be working with her. I hope to take one of classes sometimes. =)

eyes. After searching through Yelp, I found Jackie and was immediately drawn in with her before and after photos. I never wear makeup and it was very important for me to find someone that would make me feel comfortable and not insecure with being too made-up. Jackie responded right away to my inquiry and was very responsive through my entire wedding planning. She was so sweet to accommodate me during the weekday, taking time away from her day job and come to my place to do my hair and make up for the engagement session. I was beyond pleased with the quality of work and quickly booked her for my wedding. For my wedding, Jackie showed up on time and started right away without any delay. She was exact with the time schedule and was able to get myself, bridesmaids, and moms all done in time for the scheduled first look. I was beyond thrilled on how Jackie was able copy a hair style I just found and made it last all night long. My makeup even lasted through the 90 degree heat and the rest of the long night. I am so thankful to Jackie for making me feel beautiful on my special day and cannot wait to recommend her to anyone looking!
