I am Mia, an award winning, woman owned, documentary & fine art photographer, based in Brewster on Cape Cod and Brooklyn New York. I am so excited to meet you and hear your love story. My approach is documentary in style, to capture your love story in split-second organic moments. I incorporate what I learn about you as a couple over the months leading up to your day, to create not only stunning, but meaningful, enduring photographs. I’ll help you stay in the moment and during the candid moments- you won’t even know I’m there. I have shot for The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times and National Geographic. I've lived in Russia, France and Senegal. Every aspect of my life not only as a photographer, but as a mother, wife, daughter and friend inform each image I make. I spot the emotions you are experiencing, creating spaces for you to really hold that experience and capture them in images. On your wedding day I will be there for you, every step of the way, from getting ready, to closing dances. I'll creating the more formal portraits with enthusiasm and gentle direction. The rest of the time, I will be as invisible as possible, capturing all the special moments for you to re experience! I conference with you before your wedding day helping create a timeline so you can be assured you will be enjoying your wedding & not worried about what is happening next. Build your own "package" including options for an engagement session, second photographer and wedding album. After your wedding, when it's time to kick back with a glass of wine and write those thank you notes, go through your wedding gallery and decide on wedding prints, I'm available to help you with printing ideas, gifts, wedding albums.

Mia photographed our Cape Cod wedding in June and was amazing. She is enthusiastic, attentive, and talented. She went above and beyond and made me feel like her only client. While planning, we had several phone calls and met for a walk through of the venue 2 months before. Our wedding weekend, she came the day before to pick our first look location and came to our rehearsal as well! The day of, she showed up in a big rain coat, ready for any weather (which luckily cleared!!). She was everywhere, getting EVERY shot. As a bride who felt uncomfortable in front of the camera, she was patient and encouraging. She was happy to take as many (golden hour- more portraits please!) or as little (moment after ceremony- private) photos I wanted. In the end, I was amazed at both the quality and quantity of photos she captured. I highly recommend Mia if you want hundreds and hundreds of beautiful photos to remember the big day!

Mia was an amazing choice for a photographer. We reached out to Mia because of the style of her photos and they seemed to capture so much emotion of the weddings she was photographing. From the very beginning she wanted to get to know us and find out what was most important to us in our photos. We had multiple meetings to discuss our visons and priorities, create a dream timeline together, and ensure that we were all on the same page. We got married at Ocean Edge and she was familiar with the venue and was able to suggest great places to take photos that had great lighting. My wife and I are very analytical and she was able to really create the shot and make us feel comfortable throughout the whole process. She was so helpful ensuring and prioritizing exactly what we wanted in the timeline preparation. We wanted specific photos that felt candid and captured our personality and she helped us ensure the timeline was what we wanted. As part of our package we were able to do an engagement photoshoot such that we could meet in person before wedding day, get used to taking photos, and have beautiful photos of the two of us to use for save dates/invitations and other announcements. Mia comes to the rehearsal to make sure that everyone is on the same page in terms of timeline for wedding day, and organizes the most efficient way to take photos such that there is no chaos on wedding day. On wedding day, she was with us for the entire day and was snapping pictures all night to ensure every perfect moment was captured. She brought along a second photographer to ensure she captured the most important moments! Mia takes amazing photos and knows how to get the shot. When we look at our photos we feel all the same emotions that we felt on wedding day and she truly captured everything as it was. Her work is truly immaculate. We have received countless compliments on the photos and there are photos of everyone at the wedding so all of our guests got great photos taken too! Mia was a wonderful wedding photographer! The photos were absolutely gorgeous and we have gotten so much positive feedback about how the pictures turned out. Additionally, Mia was a great communicator and reached out to us about all of the details of our day. She went above and beyond looking for first look locations near our venue and found the perfect spot! She was flexible when it started raining during our pictures time and helped to assure us that everything would work out! We are so pleased to have had Mia as our photographer!

I was really glad Mia captured my daughter's wedding. It was well planned with several pre- event consults on site to concept. She is creative with great vision, good at getting candids, and really good with getting people relaxed and natural. And many, many pics! Be glad you don’t pay by the photo!!

We hired Jacqueline Mia Foster for a family photo shoot on a trip to Cape Cod. She was absolutely wonderful: friendly and fun, yet totally professional, She was particularly good at dealing with the 4 children (ages 7 months to 5 years), as well as the dog. Her photos were beautiful, and she captured everyone perfectly. She also provided excellent after service, helping those such as myself who are lacking in technical proficiency! I would recommend her enthusiastically.

What a wonderful experience we had working with Mia! She was our photographer for a family photo shoot in Chatham, MA. She knew the perfect location and time to schedule our appointment to capture the best lighting and backgrounds. Mia is kind and funny and put everyone at ease immediately. This is captured in the numerous beautiful photos she took of our family. It was so hard to choose the best ones to print. I can only imagine how fun it would be to use her as a wedding photographer. I am certain the experience we had with her would make her the perfect addition to a wedding day.

Mia is amazing and she was such an asset to our big day! Mia was very accommodating from the beginning. We talked several times in the months before the wedding and we met with in person before the big day to plan how the day would run. I honestly didn't know how the day would come together and Mia was so helpful with planning out the timeline for photos. I was so pleased with how the photos turned out! They are all absolutely amazing and we are currently working to put together our wedding album with Mia's help. Mia made sure that every aspect of our day was represented! She is such a professional and knew when she had the shot she wanted. We had a small wedding (approximately 25 guests) and we are so fortunate to have photos of everyone. She helped us to plan our first look which came out beautiful and her attention to detail ensured that every shot we have came out flawless. My husband and I are so happy with our photography experience with Mia and have photos that we absolutely treasure!

I met Mia when researching photographers to shoot our son's wedding last summer. Her ideas were creative and I was immediately taken by her upbeat personality. Mia photographed three wedding events for us and easily adapted to our complicated COVID schedule. She mixed easily with our guests, while snapping both posed and candid photos. The resulting photos captured the spirit of our wedding week in a beautifully creative fashion. When compiling the final album, Mia was a great help in choosing which pictures would look best in what sequence. We have received many compliments on the wedding album. I recommend Mia's talents with the utmost confidence.

Mia's unique and extensive photo journalism background, combined with her easy-going, yet diligent approach created a memorable and phenomenal wedding experience. Mia was eager to research and understand our relationship, dynamic, and goals for the big day. She was willing to go above and beyond at every moment, lend a helping hand, offer advice (e.g. urging me to request a redo of my hair with the makeup team because it differed from the trial run), calm jitters, and be a friend . As a bride, there are a number of overwhelming moments throughout a wedding weekend and Mia was a wonderful extra resource throughout it all, reminding me to pause, smile, and soak it in. She thinks outside the box, is thorough, creative, and not cookie cutter. I can't recommend Mia enough - my husband and I are not planners and despite the semi last minute request, Mia found a way to accomodate our wedding. She was a joy to work with from the planning process through final images. She really takes the time to get to know the couple and what we were looking for and truly helped to make our wedding day special - with gorgeous photos to last us a lifetime!

Mia was absolutely spectacular at capturing our wedding in the most professional and loving way. She was easy to communicate with, thoughtful, and felt like a part of our family by the end of our time together. I would highly recommend Mia. Above and Beyond! Professional, charismatic, and warm! We were so impressed and blown away by our amazing photographer and wedding photos. Mia has the rare ability to set everyone at ease, be present in the moment and let the images tell the story. We were so happy to share this special day with such a top notch person. The process was fun, easy and while the day went by in a whirlwind, we will forever have our memorable moments immortalized. I would not recommend anyone else for such an important day. The final product was prompt and of the highest quality! Mia is the BEST!

I hired Mia to take engagement photos. I interviewed 4 other photographers before getting on the phone with Mia. I liked her work, but chatting with her really confirmed that she was the right photographer for us. She had secret locations around Provincetown and Wellfleet, understood what I wanted and was really helpful thinking through the shoot. She was great during the photoshoot as well. I had actually planned the photoshoot secretly for the same day as the engagement. I proposed at sunrise that morning, and it was a long day with many conversations and excitement. So when my fiancée and I got to the photoshoot we were really excited, but also pretty worn out from an eventful day. Mia was great at giving direction, giving us ideas on how to pose and not have to think too much about it. She knows how to get great photos out of her subjects, which is the most important trait of a great photographer. The photos came out great, highly recommend Mia.

Mia is not just a wedding photographer, she is an artist that uses digital media as her canvas, your desires as her inspiration coupled with the colors of the world around us. She not only captures moments and portraits but she captures the story of your love. Mia will never say "ok, we're done" instead she'll say "wait, just one more", "oh, the light, just one more". From start to finish, working with Jacqueline (Mia) was a pleasure. We still marvel at the beauty of the images she created . She provided her photographic expertise, but she also helped to create the wedding. She used her knowledge of Cape Cod and giving us with several alternative locations for the wedding ceremony, including our ultimate choice, Lieutenant Island in Wellfleet. I highly recommend her.

Mia was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. I interviewed multiple photographers and loved her from the first conversation. She spent a great deal of time planning with us over the phone before we arrived at the cape so that she understood exactly the timing, the plan, the scene, the feeling of our wedding day. She is a true journalistic, story-telling, photographer, so it was very important to her to know the background, the people, and our narrative. She worked tirelessly; she never stopped shooting and editing, until she had that perfect shot. Our wedding was intimate, with only 19 people. Mia completely understood our vision and worked with us to keep that feeling, both in the moment, as a professional, and to represent it, in our photographs. Mia never gives up. She'll work until you are perfectly satisfied. She is a truly lovely person to partner with. We felt very connected to her and happy to have such a joyful presence at our celebration.
