I cannot rave enough about our experience with Janie Rocek. I live out of state and having hired Janie sight unseen I was a bit nervous and unsure of what to expect. I can safely say she blew my socks off. I had a particular vision in mind (as most brides do) but did a terrible job putting that vision into words. Janie asked a few simple questions, looked at a few photos and executed my "vision" flawlessly at the trial. A few weeks before the wedding (after my trial) I left my final dress fitting wanting something a bit different than we had originally done at the trial. She was so open to the changes and again pulled them off without a flaw. I received SO many compliments on my hair and make-up. My bridesmaids, my mom and mother in law have since been raving about Janie nonstop as well. Not only does she do wonderful work, she was so nice to have around on wedding morning. She is exceptionally easy going, go with the flow and kind. She felt like one of the girls from the very beginning and is a calm, breath of fresh air. From a logistics stand point she is exceptionally organized which was very helpful. She put together a timeline to keep us on track and on schedule. She even had a member of her team steaming our dresses which was amazing! Janie is a woman of many talents! Not only did she have my wedding party looking fabulous, she also hand painted the most beautiful map of Vail with special custom icons for our events. We attached them to our welcome gifts and they were such a hit! We now have the original framed in our home and will treasure it forever. I cannot recommend Janie enough, we feel so lucky that we had the opportunity to work with her.

Janie was wonderful to work with. My hair looked absolutely gorgeous on my wedding day, and so did all my bridesmaids. And she did a spectacular makeup application on my maid of honor. Love her personality and positive energy. Really enjoyed having her be a part of my wedding day!

Being from out of state and doing a destination wedding it was important for me to find someone that were easy to work with and trustworthy because most of all our contact was via phone. I was thoroughly impressed with Janie the moment I went in for my initial trial back in February of last year. She and her team did an excellent job not only on my hair and makeup but also on the 15 other women who she helped get "wedding ready" for on my wedding day. I received compliments all night - even after my updo started to fall out a bit after the ceremony! She will do a wonderful job and highly recommend her to anyone who wants to look and feel beautiful on their wedding day.

Janie styled my hair and makeup for the big day, and also my mom's. We were so thrilled with the final look. Janie did such a great job! I am not a huge makeup wearer so she helped me through getting over that, and what different techniques she would use to achieve a natural look. We did a trial a few weeks before the wedding to perfect the hairstyle I wanted, and she recreated exactly what I had researched! On the wedding day, she came on time, brought an awesome gift pack to keep me fresh throughout the night, and we had a relaxed morning of getting ready. Janie is one of the most respected stylists in Colorado, known for her unique flair in using a mix of vintage, natural, and modern elements to create her looks. Her personality makes her someone you look forward to working with and someone you can confide your wedding stress in! We insisted on taking her with us to Mexico for our wedding, and she exceeded every expectation. Every time I look at our glorious photos (her husband is THE best photographer) I am grateful that we hired her and that she took the time to really listen to what I wanted. I am normally not picky on my hair and make-up, but for my wedding day I wanted a polished and sophisticated look that could have easily walked the red carpet. I also wanted my bridal party and the mothers to relax in a hotel room and drink bubbly while we all got ready. I found Janie through The Knot local vendor reviews and contacted her through her website. We cliqued instantly when we met, I was able to point out styles and looks from her blog that I loved for my trial. She was able to accommodate my trial to coincide with my mother and aunt's visit, even though it was far in advance of the wedding itself. During the trial she made sure all of us enjoyed the final look, and then took a lot of photos in different lighting to make sure it still looked fantastic. Right before the wedding she contacted me to see if I wanted any changes to the look. She also supplied a schedule breakdown for getting ready and came prepared with a second artist to help with my large group of girls. We had so much FUN! There was music, laughing, the bridal party popped a bottle of bubbly...Janie kicked major booty with everyone's make-up and hair requests from french twists, sexy cat-eyes, big lashes, romantic up-dos, and even channeling Bettie Paige. Everyone looked gorgeous. Janie followed us through the pictures and ceremony, touching us up and fixing my veil/train. She even kept watch over the boys (some of the pocket squares needed a skilled hand!). Booking Janie Rocek was one of the better decisions for my wedding day, I highly advise any Colorado bride to let Janie Rocek be a part of your day!

Janie is your go-to girl. We LOVED her for our wedding. She made all my bridesmaids look absolutely gorgeous and everyone was complimenting me on my hair ALL NIGHT LONG. She has a true eye for beauty and is so talented. She helped keep my hem nice from stickers (mountain wedding), she touched me up all night, she made the whole experience amazing for me and my girls. We had a blast getting ready- let me tell you she comes prepared! You will be taking care of on your day with this lovely lady. If I could get my beauty done by her everyday- I WOULD!

Janie is amazing!!! This was a destination wedding for us so I had to find someone to do our makeup from afar and I like to do A LOT of research before I go with something/someone. Just looking through Janie's previous weddings that she'd styled had me sold but after talking to her on the phone I felt completely at ease, she is so nice and down to earth. We only had her for makeup because I am a hairstylist and had my coworkers for our hair but would have had Janie do that as well in a heartbeat! She is so talented in so many ways, I completely trusted her to do what she thought best, if you look at her work you'll see why! I didn't have time for a trial run but had no worries that she would make us looking nothing short of amazing. My mother was not so sure about having her makeup done but I insisted and she loved it! As well as my bridesmaids, I know as a it's typical for the wedding party to be told how nice they look on a wedding day but we seriously had so many compliments on our makeup! I can honestly say that day is the most beautiful I've ever felt. Thank you Janie!!!

Janie is amazing. I worked with her for a short film shoot I was directing almost a year before my wedding. She is better than most on-set makeup artists I've worked with in LA: she has a great eye for detail, but a great instinct for when something doesn't really need to be fixed. I felt so lucky and honored to have Janie by my side on my big day. She is such a calm, friendly, wonderful person. She put all of my bridesmaids at ease-- from the one who never wears makeup to the one who is extremely particular and allergic to a lot of makeup. She even put our moms, who also never wear makeup, at ease. She did an amazing job of making the makeup look very natural-- especially on those who don't normally wear it. Everyone looked like themselves! Janie is also a master at hair. I felt really comfortable asking her to make changes, and she executed them amazingly-- even better than what I had imagined! She was so great to work with on all fronts, and I was so happy to be around her for the majority of my wedding day!

My daughter had found Janie for some other events she had and simply fell in love with her and her work. We contracted with Janie to do the hair and make-up of the Bridal Party. Janie has a great ability to not only hear the brides wishes, but contribute to the creative thought and bring the brides dream to life. Her attention to the little details during the dressing for the ceremony as well as photos is simply outstanding. She caught and corrected little things in how clothing may have been laying or a simple hair out of place that we didn't even see and made a huge difference in every photo and memory being absolutely perfect. Strong quality work with a great personality. I highly recommend Janie.

Janie and her team are extremely professional and talented. Not only does Janie know what she is doing she makes sure her clients are always happy. Janie can either creatively come up with ideas for styling, makeup, and hair or she can reference pictures the client brings in and make the necessary changes needed to make sure the looks great on the client. Janie really allowed for my friends, family, and myself look great for my wedding day. I not only used Janie for my wedding but engagement and family pictures. I had to plan my wedding from Maryland and needed to find a hairstylist/makeup artist I could trust in CO. After reading the many rav reviews and seeing Janie's amazing hairdos and makeup, I knew she was the one. She was also super professional and cool on the phone, and I was left feeling great with every conversation. I had so much fun with her for the bridal trial and then day of with all my girlfriends. Everyone looked stunning and I still can't believe how incredible my hair turned out. I truly felt like a princess for the day. I also want to point out that she truly listens to what you want and does not intimidate you - if you want lighter looking makeup, she'll do that! I love how she told me she was going to try something out during the trial, but if I didn't like to let her know. I felt so comfortable with Janie!! I came across Janie and her website while planning my wedding and was immediately impressed by her website and professionalism. I had contacted other make-up and hair artists in regards to my wedding and all of them either never returned my call or said I was booking too far in advance...what?? Give a bride a break, I was trying to be on top of it! But Janie returned my call and we discussed my ideas and desires for my wedding day look. She put my date down in her planner and told me she would pencil me in until I knew if I wanted to commit. How GREAT! That gave me such a sense of relief to know I had options and that she was committed to me! Needless to say, I made my deposit a few days later and invested in her services! We scheduled my trial for a few months prior to the wedding because of my crazy schedule and Janie was more than accommodating. I admittedly realized that maybe I wanted a different look and Janie totally went with it and took my comments and needs to heart and made me feel like a beauty queen on the day of my wedding. I'm not kidding- I had people tell me I looked like a beauty queen! :) Thank you Janie for taking the time to make me feel and look beautiful on my wedding day! No one can appreciate Janie Rocek more than a mother of the bride like me – someone who possesses a somewhat extreme attention to detail who wanted the best wedding experience for our daughter, Aubrey. I so appreciate that Janie has even more attention to detail than me! We enjoyed a fabulous wedding day for Aubrey and Kyle, in large part to Janie and Chesney. Janie’s knowledge and experience with hair, makeup, and weddings provided much needed guidance as to the pre-ceremony prep process and timeline. Janie and Chesney were wonderful to work with on the wedding day – fun and focused at the same time. The results were spectacular! The bride and her bridesmaids were stunning! Janie’s presence for the photos was priceless – again, her attention to detail ensured Aubrey’s dress, veil, hair, and makeup were perfect for each photo. She also kept an eye on the wedding party and family members as well to ensure nothing was out of place. Janie is worth every dollar for a mother of the bride’s peace of mind! When I went for a trial with Janie she instantly made me feel comfortable and was clearly listening to what I wanted. Because of her knowledge/passion of styling she was able to perfectly match my look to the overall style of my wedding. You will spend hours and hours with your hair and makeup artist on your big day. The importance of their role in all my wedding planning was often overshadowed by meal preferences, wording on the invitations, and finding the perfect pair of shoes. This should not be the case. They are, in my mind, as important as choosing the perfect dress. I am so grateful that the ladies that did my flowers highly recommended Janie. She is one incredible gal inside and out. Her experience, her personality, and attention to detail blows my mind! Janie brought out even more beauty of the most loved women in my life, handling every personality from age six to seventy as if they were the most important person of the day. She was understanding, listened to the diverse requests from all nine of us, and worked her but off non-stop from 8am on to the evening. Janie stood with me before I walked down the isle making sure I looked perfect. I felt amazing, and Janie was the one that made me glow even brighter. The details of the name plates, candy bar, programs, thank you cards, I Spy card, signage, bar menu, was ALL her creative brilliance. She was able to take my frantic last minute visions and turn them into rustic elegance on the most beautiful, fun, amazing day of my life. Her ideas for pictures are among some of my favorites. I honestly can't say enough about Janie! She is so talented, kind, and professional, and I was one super lucky bride to have been handed her card.

Working with Janie was such a delight---although we had just met, I felt like I was working with an old friend. I used Janie for a trial hair and make up run before our engagement photos, day-of hair and make up for myself and the bridal party, and then on-site styling during photos and a freshen-up after the ceremony. Janie brings an amazing balance of warmth and professionalism and I trust her amazing eye so much! Janie helped me to feel absolutely beautiful on my wedding day which is a priceless gift! My husband and I had an outdoor wedding with a little (okay...a lot!) of rain---knowing that Janie was there to fix my dress, hair, make up seriously made me feel so much more relaxed. Prior to our wedding, I thought that booking a stylist like Janie was a bit of a splurge. Janie was absolutely amazing! I had her do hair and make-up for 3 of my bridesmaids, my mom, and me and we all looked just amazing! She also stayed through the ceremony and pictures. She was able to help position me for pictures and did a really good job at seeing things that the photographer didn't. She also fixed my flower girls hair after the ceremony for pictures even though we never paid for that. She also did an amazing job at keeping me calm during my bridezilla-ish moments. She was also very accommodating. I decided about a week before the wedding that I wanted my hair different than what was done for the trial. If you are looking to find someone to exceed all your expectations when it comes to hair and makeup look no further. I hired Janie over the phone from thousands of miles away for my destination wedding in Colorado and it was by far one of the best decisions I made. Since my now husband and I were stationed in Delaware and we were having our wedding in Colorado I was not able to meet Janie face-to-face till the day of the wedding but she was still able to do my hair and makeup exactly the way I had envisioned and more. She also did my bridal partie’s hair and the mother of the groom’s hair. They all did different styles and it turned out amazing and even the next day I had people telling me how wonderful Janie did. I also hired Janie for some on-site styling for our big day so she was able to be there for the ceremony and pictures. Just having her there to help assist the photographer with posing and fixing my train and just hanging out with all of us girl before we all walked down the aisle made a world of difference. By the end of the day Janie truly had become a great friend and I know my day would not have been as beautiful and fun without her there. Please take my advice and hire Janie to be a part of your wedding day or any special occasion where you want to look and feel fabulous because that is what you will get. Janie does nothing but the best.

I was so nervous finding someone to do hair and makeup for my sisters wedding; 1) because I live on the other side of the country and 2) my sister and I have different ideas of hair and makeup. I reviewed Janie's portfolio and work online and took the plunge. Sooooo happy I did. Not only was the work she did amazing, but she was fun, stress free, knew how to give each person what they wanted and was able to fit in some extras last minute. Janie did my wedding day hair and makeup for me, my MOH and my mother. She was wonderful. She came right to our home and set up every last detail. She has such a talent for colors and really makes your best features stand out. I was so impressed how natural she made my 'updo' look and my makeup was flawless. For someone who doesn't wear a lot of makeup, she made me feel comfortable with our 'look' and reassured me that it would look great. It def did. Janie traveled on sight to my best friend's wedding this summer. She did the bride's hair and make-up, 4 bridesmaid and the mothers of bride and groom's hair and make-up as well. I was really impressed by Janie's talent!! She really enhanced our best assets and made us all look like the best versions of ourselves. Janie was professional, super sweet, and talented. Our airbrushed make up and fabulous hair dos lasted all day and night!

Janie did my hair and makeup for my wedding and I cannot find enough good things to say about the experience! Regarding my hair, I told her the basics of what I envisioned and she nailed it. I received so many compliments on my hair and it was one of my favorite things from my wedding day. With the makeup, again I told her basically what I wanted and when I saw the final product I was so excited! I would recommend Janie to anyone looking for a wonderful hair and makeup stylist. Janie is an amazing stylist. I decided on her because she has lots of experience. I am Japanese, and I had never used an American beauty salon before so I didn't know what to expect. I knew my hair is especially unique and hard to handle, but when I saw Janie had experience with Korean and Indian ladies, I knew she could handle the most important date in my life. I had pre-setup beforehand, and it worked great! She came to our house, so I could save my time since I worked full time. My husband and I started preparing wedding stuff pretty late compared to average, but she was sweet and efficient. I could tell her how I wanted my hair to be, she changed a little, and we were ready for the wedding! I showed her my ideal hair (actually thinking it might be hard because the model was not an Asian lady), and, surprisingly, Janie set up exactly same hair style with the model! I was really impressed and had NO regret choosing her.

Janie is a phenomenal hairstylist and makeup artist. She is professional, attentive, creative, intuitive, genuine and very very talented. Janie's experience showed throughout my experience with her and the final product was more than I could have asked for. Janie does an amazing job at keeping up with current trends and techniques. My groom wanted my hair down while I wanted a more intricate updo. Janie came up with the solution and created a gorgeous convertible style to satisfy both of our visions. My hair was down with finger waves for the ceremony and she fashioned a gorgeous sweeping updo for the reception. Seriously, perfect! I love Janie and still go to her for any all of my hair and makeup needs!

Janie is excellent at what she does. She is happy to listen to your suggestions, and create exactly what you want. And she is also great at getting creative if you aren't sure what you want. She is very calm, experienced and professional, as well as high energy and great at making you feel like the most important person in the world. Janie did my hair and makeup for my own wedding, as well as a few other weddings that I have been a part of, and every time, I felt absolutely beautiful! I highly recommend her.
