Disappointing service on two separate occasions.
First visit was to have my G-Shock watch looked at to have its battery replaced. Saleswoman held it with her fingers like she would get a communicable disease from it (it was not dirty at all, with a white band, it would be noticeable if it had been), and took it in the back. A few minutes later, she came back and said they wouldn't work on it. I inquired as to why, and she shrugged and said they just wouldn't work on it. I asked about having the battery changed and she said no. By this time, there were three sales people nearby staring at me, and making the visit uncomfortable. I got the impression that I wasn't "culturef enough to be welcome in their establishment, so I said thank you for your help and left.
Fast forward several months later, when I thought I'd give them another shot with a separate watch I had just gotten a few hours before. I needed to have links taken out, so I took it in. A different sales person this time, whom didn't bother with any niceties, and just asked how she could help me. Okay, I thought, maybe she's having a bad day. I opened the case my watch came in, and explained that I had just received it, and needed to have links removed please. She took it in the back and in a matter of moments, I heard what sounded like someone beating on a desk with a mallet (I'm aware that to get the pins out, sometimes they need to put a bit of oomph into it, but this seemed excessive). Shortly thereafter, the saleswoman returns, and thrusts my watch at me, loudly telling me it was defective and I needed to return it, acting like it was a cheap piece of crap (which it absolutely was not). I asked why and she said that they couldn't get the pins out, and it repeated loudly that it was defective. Now, that watch was the 3rd one of that brand that I've had (I've gotten different ones over the years because I like them, not due to any issues), and there has NEVER been any issues with pin removal. The kicker to this visit?? Before taking the watch in the back, I was quoted $20.00 to have links removed. At this point, I'm wondering if she over quoted in an effort to get me to leave, in a similar attitude to my first visit, that I wasn't a high enough paying customer to suit them.
At neither time was I welcomed graciously to the store, and with both of these visits, I've chosen to take my business elsewhere. The only reason I went there was because I hoped that Kingoff's staff could live up to how wonderful the Albert F. Rhodes staff had been. I was extremely disappointed.
Ultimately, I did get both of my watches fixed, no thanks to the staff at Kingoffs.
