who could tell us what was going on, who would be taking over in the process, and feeling like we might be starting over after nearly a year of planning our big day. Finally, the venue put us in touch with our new contact (after many unanswered calls and emails). Overall, the biggest hurdle was lack of communication and disorganization on the venue’s part specifically due to the change in ownership. In the end, thankfully, our event went off pretty darn close to the way we envisioned with only minor hiccups on day-of (which I feel is inevitable) but I can’t say the planning process was stress-free. I hope this transition phase is officially over for the Kolo Klub so any new couples planning their wedding there don’t go through what we and several others went through. Beside those issues, I can confirm that the food was FANTASTIC, the drinks were amazing, the venue was clean and arranged pretty close to how we agreed in our previous walk through, and the staff were all super friendly and attentive at the event. We had a blast and we know our guests did too. We definitely are happy we chose Kolo Klub and feel we got a great value, but feel like we had some unfortunate timing with the transition of ownership of the venue by losing the original staff we worked with so closely when we booked it. Hope this is helpful for anyone considering Kolo Klub going forward.

. We went through five or six different contacts and people "taking care" of our wedding who fell off the face of the earth the next day. Communication was NOT their strong suit, truly stressing out a bride 3 weeks before my wedding - causing panic attacks and many tears. However, the space is great, the food DELICIOUS (still getting rave reviews from guests). Liz, the new event manager started two days before our wedding. She was very nice, but definitely new. Room was set up exactly as discussed based on layout and she was open to conversation and talked about my plan at depth, but luckily I am very organized so that helped. During the day, they communicated with my DJ on timing, but still didn't start serving food or dessert until late. Definitely hire a day of coordinator if you love the space and that will help with some things that caused me stress. We had a beautiful day and they were very helpful and kind. I bet she is going to do great there, just difficult starting two days before my wedding. And again, the FOOD was great!!

ut to by the location and only was made aware due to the kindness of past management. All current ownership should be ashamed of themselves. You work in the hospitality industry and have ruined the most important day of mine and probably many other lives. I will never be a patron at Pilsner Biergarten or Kolo Klub again.

The service was also impeccable - another thing we heard from multiple people - they had enough bartenders so there was never a line at the bar, all the wait staff were so friendly and helpful. We also didn't do a seating chart to keep things a little more casual (and this is what they recommend) and it ended up working just fine - there were plenty of seats for everyone and the staff did a great job at making sure the buffet line never got too long and it was spaced out when people got food. Overall, the vibe, food, service, everything was everything we wanted.

n't want anything super traditional or a venue where we'd be paying for a bunch of services we weren't using. The Kolo Klub was a perfect choice. Vince and Gianna worked with us to design the day and made helpful suggestions along the way based on their experience but never forced anything we didn't want. We also had some specific requests to ensure the safety of our guests during the pandemic and they were very respectful and accommodating. We had so many family and friends comment on how good the food, how nice the space was, and how impressed they were by the bartenders knowledge and excellent service. We loved every minute of our wedding celebration and are so happy we chose the Kolo Klub - it was the perfect venue.

Vince and Gianna could not have been easier to work with, more professional, kinder, more empathetic during the process of postponing due to COVID... we could go on forever. Kolo Klub feels like family at this point. We felt welcomed, respected, and listened to, at every turn. We had zero party planning experience and very little time due to our demanding jobs, and not once did we feel stressed out while planning this event. Vince and Gianna's expertise and years of wedding-planning knowledge made it so that the time spent planning this event was purely fun and exciting, and never stressful. When it came to planning our event, Vince was absolutely amazing and provided such invaluable guidance to me and my fiance. He and Gianna both helped us walk through all the details and had everything in-hand day-of. Once we arrived after our ceremony, I didn't have to think about a single thing! Vince was fully present for our event and communicated with all of our vendors to make sure everything flowed seamlessly. The food was to die for, the bar was full stocked and well serviced, and our guests were never without food or drink. I can't imagine a more perfect wedding day! You will not regret booking with Kolo Klub!

and it's such an interesting choice for couples who want to do something a little different. Everything came together perfectly and my only regret is that we don't have another event coming up soon enough to use the space again. Don't sleep on this hidden gem in Hoboken!

He and his terrific staff went above and beyond to make us and our guests comfortable and confident in our health and safety, and we had an amazing celebration. And our guests are still talking about how great the food was!

The wait staff and bartenders were also top notch. When the night was was winding down, we had them bring out plates of the pretzels from the Pilsner Haus which is located below and that was a huge hit!

Our tasting was beautiful, they truly made that an event for us as well which was super nice. Back to the wedding - it was spectacular, best day of my life! Vince, Melissa and their team were extremely professional, yet super fun and very accommodating. I was worried about the change over from ceremony to cocktail hour and Melissa told me not to worry - it was seamless as she said! Since we got married in January, taking pictures outside is difficult. They were very accommodating and allowed us to come in early to take pictures - suggest not doing that cause you'll have too many people in the space and trying coordinate with them while the Klub team is setting up is just too stressful. Find a location to do pictures if at all possible. Melissa made sure everything was perfect before I walked down the aisle and it really was perfect. The bartenders were awesome, ended up dancing/rapping to Jay Z and jumping around with them. We brought in a surprise groom's cake and donuts for dessert, again everything went off without a hitch! The best part, I was struggling to book our after party downstairs in the Pilsner Haus Beirgarten since their manager wanted a $1k beverage minimum - ha! But Melissa handled it and I had nothing to worry about. When they wedding ended we had a personal security guard walking us the back staircase to our reserved table - it was PERFECT! I could go on and on and I hope I put in all the important stuff in here but seriously, if you're looking for a unique venue for your wedding look no further! The space is stunning, the food is insanely delicious and their team is impeccable! A few things: -no dedicated space/bridal suite so make your wedding party small so you can hide in a small area they have upstairs -make it a buffet, you'll get more space in the room -dont expect a maitre d type of experience, they truly do the best they can and it's truly all you need but you'll do a little more work than you expect which can be stressful -other than a few minor communication delays in the beginning, they quickly turned the delays around and answered my one million questions

mount of seating during the ceremony, everyone else stood and a buffet dinner without formal seating. This allowed for people to flow, as they pleased, around the room. Kolo Klub has some really gorgeous chairs and chaise lounges, along with stools and seats. It is such a unique space in Hoboken! On the day of our wedding, we were greeted with a full out downpour, which threw our schedule to the wayside. Our full wedding party and some extended family arrived early to the venue and Becky took it all in stride. They typically don't like the wedding party to come too early as Becky likes them to arrive to a designed space. I plan events as well, so I'm aware that I can be a bit detail oriented and time conscious. I did check in a couple of times during the night to see where we were on timing, but that's just me being me, and Becky moved things along well. In terms of planning, the Kolo Klub requests you use Hoboken's Anthony David's as the caterer. If not, Becky will provide a list of a couple of other caterers they have worked with. We took the ambitious route and went with vendors they had not worked with before: Hoboken's Taco Truck as our caterer, my husband's cousin for our cake jars, and Greenery NYC for our floral arrangements. (Note: if you use an outside caterer, they will not have access to the kitchen.) Everything was fine, just make sure you keep everyone in communication with one another. Because Kolo Klub is located above the beer garden, try to remember your timing. I think the band downstairs mayyy have started a few minutes early as we heard the base through the floorboards during our ceremony. I don't remember if this was an issue during the speeches later in the night. I also don't necessarily remember hearing our music (we created our own playlist through Spotify and played with an iPad) during the dinner portion of our event, but it likely depended on where in the space you were at any given time. My only regret is not getting a picture with Becky or the bartenders (who remember us now that we've gone back once or twice since the wedding). Also, get pictures with the great furniture - sad I didn't take advantage of this as well. But really, everything was amazing!
