party was amazing and we couldn't have had more fun. Jenna was absolutely awesome taking care of my wife and I at every step and making sure we were fully enjoying the experience. DJ Malcom spun great beats and kept the dance floor full. Sava took over for Jenna and continued the high quality service ensuring we were fed and had drinks throughout the night. People raved to us about the beautiful venue and the tasty food. Lastly, Freddy checked on us multiple times to make sure every request or want was addressed. Overall the entire team made the night so perfect and without a hitch! Thank you wedgwood team!!!

completely overdelivered! Our florals from Emerald & Ivy were stunning (you will have to pay for florals other than centerpieces). The food was absolutely delicious and our bartender did a fantastic job (a little too fantastic judging by the number of hangovers the next day haha)! Our DJ from dj Maestro, Zareen, absolutely killed it - so many of our guests said they were sore for days after the wedding from dancing so much! Sugarbears, the bakery, made the most delicious and gorgeous lemon wedding cake; seriously still dreaming about how good it was. Marlo, our officiant from Your Wedding Belles, led us through a heartfelt and beautifully written ceremony. And the glue holding this all together was the incredible Wedgewood team - they worked like CLOCKWORK. This is one of the huge benefits of booking a team of that works together often with the same vendors; they all know exactly what to do and how to work together efficiently. The result is a seamless wedding that flows beautifully. I have to give a special shoutout to our day-of coordinator, Bree. She was INCREDIBLE. She was there with a glass of champagne whenever I needed it, she made sure my husband and I ate, and she even printed out and framed a picture of our first kiss and gave it to us along with a handwritten note before she left for the evening. These are the touches that make you feel cared for, and make such a difference. I can't speak to other venue's teams, but if you book the La Jolla Cove Rooftop through Wedgewood, you will be soooo thankful you did!

We had just under 150 guests, and I think that's the magic number because the rooftop is large, so we filled out the space nicely without being crowded. Everything is true about the wedding planning process being like a second job, but WedgeWood has an amazing website, resources and checklists that helped us stay on top of everything and the team was so helpful as well. The day of was a dream and the team was professional and on-top of everything so all we had to do was enjoy our day. DJ Malcolm, Love Note Media, Paige Hill Photography, Sugar Bears and Moments in Bloom were all the perfect vendors and executed everything exactly how we hoped and they are all so so kind. Also the WedgeWood food was so good, we got compliments for the apps (bacon wrapped scallops were #1) and the buffet with amazing options. We couldn't be more grateful to all those involved, 10/10 wedding on the rooftop!!!!!

She made me feel so comfortable that our wedding day was going to go perfect and I completely trusted her. She executed our vision exactly how I dreamed and I couldn't have asked for a better planner! As expected, uncontrollable things came up during the wedding day and she handled and navigated these issues like a pro. Katelyn also helped Jenna the day of and handled one of our pre-meetings and did wonderful as well. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't change a thing. this venue and location are unmatched, especially at sunset. Other pros: - While wedding planning, I frequently texted and emailed the Wedgewood team and they were always very quick to respond! - There was a hiccup with our contracted bakery for the week of our wedding. Robert quickly helped us find another bakery and made the transition entirely seamless. We didn't have to lift a finger. - Bartenders, servers, and security were all so kind and our guests appreciated their hospitality. - The cocktails were great and we appreciated the wide variety of drink selection for the bar. - Ample clean and modern bathrooms. - Guests enjoyed the fire pits and photobooth. - People liked the appetizers and dinner (we selected a duet plate of salmon and beef short rib for our entree). - The staff made sure that as bride and groom we had appetizers at cocktail hour. Throughout the night they checked in on if we wanted a drink, and packed us up some food at the end of the reception! Things to know/consider: - From when we booked the venue to the time of our wedding, some of the Wedgewood contracted vendors had changed (bakery, DJ). My two cents is don't be afraid to use your own vendors if you find one you really want to work with. It may even save you money to achieve your same vision, for example, our florals. -Your guests will likely need to find street parking or use a nearby parking garage. - The rain contingency plan isn't the greatest. There isn't an alternate indoor space and umbrellas will be used for the reception if it rains. The city does not allow for tents on the rooftop. - Luckily it rained the day before our wedding day so we did not experience this, but there is sometimes a fishy smell in the air due to the sea lions at the cove. Not sure if it could be better during certain months of the year vs others? - During our wedding day, the newer elevator was out of order. The older elevator was quite slow and many guests took the stairs up to the rooftop - There is no bridal or groom suite, so we booked 2 nights at a newly remodeled hotel suite with La Jolla Cove Hotel (Shores VIP Corner Penthouse Suite). This worked perfectly for getting ready and was convenient throughout the day. It was about $1k per night though if you are watching your wedding budget. And some of the older/more cost effective rooms at the hotel don't have the best reviews... due to this, we did not recommend this as a hotel to out-of-town guests for lodging. - Day of coordinator leaves at the beginning of the reception and then the banquet captain takes over. Our banquet captain was busy serving food so our DJ was key in helping to move the reception along. - A listed benefit is that you receive help with wedding planning. The 3 planning meetings primarily give structure in planning the key elements of your wedding. Thinking of other details required my own research and time to make the wedding feel more personalized. - The venue website says a capacity of 200 guests. Our wedding was 130 people and that was about the amount of guests that could comfortably fit under the covered ceremony space. It also seemed like there was just the right amount of space for our reception tables to be near the dance floor.

They went above and beyond to ensure our wedding was nothing short of stunning - this location has the most breathtaking views, the venue itself is a large space so it feels roomy, and everything is newly renovated. Despite some unexpected challenges, such as navigating the bakery vendor closing down their doors one week before our wedding, the coordinators handled everything with such professionalism and care. They even covered the cost of our final cake, which was both beautiful and delicious—a testament to their dedication to their clients. The team curated beautiful design elements throughout the night and even surprised us with a framed photo of us during the ceremony placed at our sweetheart table. We are so grateful to Wedgewood Weddings for making our wedding day truly unforgettable.

ooking Wedgewood didn't disappoint! I got to spend my year advancing my career, hobbies, traveling, and being with my fiance, and STILL had a wonderful wedding day, despite the VERY little thought I put into any details at all. We had a lot of family and friends travel from out of town to attend, and we got so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was, and smoothly everything went. Casey Burke was our coordinator, and she knocked it out of the park! She was so sweet, did an excellent job coordinating with my wedding party so I didn't have to, and was very professional and efficient. I really appreciated having her. The venue is stunning and that's great news because you can get away with very little extra decorations and thinking about every annoying decoration detail. To me, the price point is very reasonable considering the fact that it's right on the beach in La Jolla, and almost everything is included. The time saving, I think, is the most valuable. Overall, I totally recommend this venue and the coordination services included!

ould be the easiest/most cost-effective option. What would follow was by far the most difficult, time-consuming process. They were so minimally involved, and fought us on everything - we were forced to get a wedding planner to represent us. In addition to the elite package that we purchased, we had to spend A LOT more money, adding quality vendors, decorations, and solutions for what they lacked, misrepresented, and were plain unwilling to accommodate. We had to fight them each step of the way. You WILL need a wedding planner to fight on your behalf, so make sure to account for that in the cost. We also had to replace their dirty cushions by the firepits and removed the chair located at the bar entrance, as all of it was filthy. Their table #'s were beat up so take that cost into account. Before booking, we were warned they are impossible to work with, but proceeded due to the promises made during the sales pitch: "venue includes cake, food, florals, DJ, etc..." We had maybe 2/3 meetings with Wedgewood and I can say with full confidence, we would not have been able to pull off our wedding without a planner. She was a partial planner, but she had to do Wedgwood's job as well. It was like pulling teeth to extract information like, "when is our rehearsal?" "When can we try the food we will be serving?" ...Things like that. They simply don't care about the details. They also promised things they had no intention of delivering (zaffa&candles). Wedgewood is a good option if you're throwing a corporate event or a BBQ picnic style wedding, if you don't care about details. Most emails are eventually answered by whomever gets to it first, ensuring that no one is up to speed on anything discussed during prior meetings creating for additional dialogue and wasted time playing catch up). - Table flip takes place pre-ceremony so guests are seated next to tables. Because of the nature of the space and the slow elevators (plan to tell guests to arrive an hour early, as waiting for elevators adds at least 30min and guests WILL arrive late because they have to wait to get up to the rooftop." We tried to fight them on this (looked super tacky), but ultimately lost that battle. - Florals: Michelle at Emerald and Ivy - florals were very poor quality and she was incredibly rude and insisted on taking my husband (then fiancé) off every single email, adding attitude wherever she could and took a lot of time providing a quote. We also could not get a gauge for what she was planning to provide, and every "we received was far above the amount allotted, which was not disclosed, until after we asked about taking the funds allocated for a Florals. ($3 per person) so we decided to take out $350, YES. $350 and put that towards quality florals... We went with someone so much better, so it worked out, but it also cost us a ton more than expected. - The cake was the easiest part of the process and cute cakes was easy to work with, their work was quality. They insist on having the cake out on the bar, since seagulls will eat it if outside, and they also have no where else to put it! Also something we were informed of about two weeks out from the wedding. - Food: Wedgewood has two events per year for their "clients" to come taste the food, where they can also be a captive audience for all of their preferred vendors... We missed the event before our wedding, so we couldnt taste the food we'd serve (they asked us to choose it a few weeks before the wedding)... When we asked when we could taste the food they told us the next event would be in September...our wedding was in July. They were unwilling to accommodate, so we had to go to Temecula 3 weeks before our wedding to try "some of the same food options" for our wedding. We made our selection, as the food at the event wasn't too bad. That's because the food they served at the wedding was nothing like what we tasted. The mashed potatoes were way too salty, salmon was bone dry, and the food was pretty nasty. We did get good feedback on the appetizers, which I didn't try because Wedgewood didn't think to put any of the apps aside for my husband and I at the wedding. - Photo Booth: they had a very cheap setup and they insisted on putting the Wedgewood logo on the prints and GM, Nick wouldn't budge. If u can tolerate their attempt at free marketing, the booth was fun but we used our own background since theirs was beat up. - DJ: this is also included thru dancing DJ productions, an agency which assigns a DJ to you. There was no one who could play Egyptian music, so we were assigned a different "ethnic" DJ. He was horrible and didn't prep at all, didn't play the songs we requested. We specifically said no song requests. He still took requests.. from the kids... - It was also difficult to find a photographer willing to work with Wedgewood

contacts, which each told us different things. biggest issues: 1) They only have 2 elevator in the building. One is fairly small and works, but the other elevator, in the pines buildings, breaks a lot. My husband and I were stuck in it during our wedding for at least 10-15min and we had multiple guests get stuck throughout the night. When I mentioned to the Event manager, Alma, she told me she was working on it and/or did not have the authority to put a do not use sign. It took a few hours and a few more guests to get stuck before they put a do not use sin on the elevator. And my vendors had to carry large tables up and down 5 flights of stairs because the day before/after the event the elevator was not working. I also emailed her about this after the event and was told that "it was reset and working fine" and they put up the do not use sign after the 2nd guest was stuck in it. 2) My husband and I paid $2.50 extra per person to serve Pacifico instead of Corona, which was not brought up to the bar until an hour and a half into the bar being open. I spoke to the bartenders after the event and they told me on the list the hotel provided them that there was no Pacifico on the list. I email the venue after the event and asked for a partial refund since we paid extra for it and it was not provide for some time, and the response Alma provided was "we have no obligation to provide an item for the duration of the event." Even though we paid extra for it, they will not issue a partial refund. 3) venue lighting. When we first toured the venue (about a year before our wedding) I noticed there little lighting, and when I asked if there was lighting on the rooftop, the sales manager at the time told us there was lighting. I went back to the venue 3 weeks before my wedding and asked again about the lighting and was told by someone else there was "too much lighting guests normally ask to turn it down". We went back 4 days before the wedding and the new sales manager, Alma, told us that there actually was no lighting on one side of the venue/stairs leading up to the bathroom. Days leading up to the event, I was trying to work with the venue to figure out the lighting situation, the event manager took a day off (2 days before the wedding) and the accounting manager, Gus, was helpful but he refused to provide me with a backup plan if the lighting was not fixed on the event. He repeatedly kept saying "it will be fixed" but wouldn't provide a backup solution if the electrician was not able to fix it. It eventually ended up being fine, but added much additional stress the week of the wedding. Lastly, the sales manager Alma was fairly rude to me, my MOH, and a few other friends that were helping set up. She seemed very stressed out the entire event.

t as far as a wedding with a view goes. The hotel and the event planner at the hotel was super accommodating and extremely helpful! The only downside was the hotel is under construction so there were some difficulties. The bar on the rooftop was not finished and there was only 1 working elevator on the far end which made it tough for some guests. Aside from the construction, we really had an amazing time. The rooms in the pine are BEAUTIFUL and spacious! They have rooms that have a floor to ceiling sliding door that opens up to the patio for a beautiful ocean view. We had the brides get ready in one of the queen suites and there was plenty of room for everyone.

ng women who made my event seamless and flowing. I got ready at the penthouse suite and they placed me on the highest floor which made it easy for me to arrive at the rooftop ceremony without going up or down flights of stairs. The penthouse suite was absolutely beautiful and all the rooms in my room block had equally beautiful oceanfront views. The venue is perfect and I am excited to visit the venue when the bartending room is completely finished with construction. Thankfully it was covered by a gorgeous greenery fence which made for nice pictures. There is a parking fee of $20 or $25, I forgot which one it was! But I would relive this day at this venue every time. I got so many compliments and everyone was so in love with the views. It was worth every penny!

we received from the staff. The smell from the Cove could be smelled throughout the property so that was a little unpleasant, but the location, amenities and their special terrace suites were well worth the trip. We loved the big Terrace Suite with the best view, right next to Starbucks, and had plenty of room for our whole family to come by and hang out. The saltwater pool was kept well in use and the rooftop accommodated us for so many occasions! We loved the area and the central location. There is so much to do and there are plenty of delicious places to walk to and eat at, too. Our guests had so many great things to say about this property.

ke your breath away. The majority of our wedding guests were from out of state and we could not have picked a more perfect place to really showcase the beauty of San Diego. La Jolla Cove Hotel and Suites has the space for both a ceremony and reception onsite and provides large spaces for the bridal parties to get ready in. It also conveniently included tables and chairs. Their events manager, Patricia, was extremely responsive and helpful throughout the wedding planning process and went above and beyond to ensure that our special day went smoothly. Thank you La Jolla Cove Hotel and Suites for providing the most gorgeous venue for our dream wedding!!

r the rooftop view is amazing. The backdrop of the cove and the ocean is just gorgeous! Also I loved that they have an all glass window room for backup so that way if the weather is bad you can still see a magnificent view of the ocean as your backdrop!

point. It provides 180 degree panoramic view of beautiful La Jolla ocean. You are so close you can hear the seals barking. Plus, we were able to use all the amazing spots around the hotel for pictures, including walking down to the beach. The staff was absolutely amazing and worked so hard to make our vision a reality. They were professional and really made us feel incredibly special. Joy in particular was a life saver throughout the entire wedding planning process. She was so organized really catered to all our needs. She is so knowledgable of what we would need and thought of all the little details we never would remember. She also is so great with communication and always gets back to you SUPER fast, which I definitely appreciated. I highly recommend the bridal suite as well...it was a great place to get ready with all the bridesmaids. Most of our wedding party came from out of town and all we heard about was how great the wedding was. Over half our friends changed their facebook profile pic to one from the venue! That's how you know it is good! Overall, two thumbs up and we already can't wait to go back to celebrate our one year anniversary!

smallest things. They 'comp' nothing despite the thousands of dollars your event brings to their hotel. My band stated they've never worked a venue with such strict regulations. enowned tourist destination, which all of our east coast guests just LOVED! We had the most spectacular sunset that night. The venue is quite pricey but so worth it to have the reception outdoors versus inside a stuffy ballroom. My only complaint is the hassle we had with our vendors. The hotel required that every vendor have an insurance liability policy, which we only discovered one month before the big day! Luckily, we got it all sorted, but if you plan on using vendors not on their "preferred list", plan on dealing with the insurance issue. Other than that, the view is magical :)

you had the view of the beach and ocean and the comfort of the hotel and rooftop. Tracy White was the coordinator and she was very helpful and answered all of our questions. Even gave us a list of vendor they work with on a regular basis. Unfortunately, our wedding was on 10/21/2007, the day the wildfires started. The hotel accommodated the best they could under the circumstances, taking down the trellises so the wind wouldn't catch them, etc. And later we had trouble with an unwelcome guest and security helped them leave the premises. They were great and our wedding was memorable thanks to their help!
