t was good to have the engagement photos to get a chance to work with Layla as a practice round to be comfortable with her prior to our wedding. She is passionate about her work and we were pleasantly surprised to receive our photos back in a month after our wedding. Her edited photos were very beautifully done and in focus. I really enjoyed the engagement photos she did for us, a good variety in poses, change in location and very accommodating. My only comment would be that there were a good amount of "scenery" photos of us in the session we took post ceremony. (where we were photographed smaller and a bigger backdrop) A few of those is great but I felt like there was not a lot of variety in the photos in that session. Some more close ups of us I think would have been better in the mix of photos. On the other hand with our engagement photos there were more close ups of my husband and I and a variety in the poses. It might just be situational, but that was my only thought. I think I could crop some of the photos since the quality is high either way. Overall beautiful work, I recommend Layla!

She was prompt with responding to emails and she was extremely professional with a friendly touch. We began with our engagement photos on what seemed to be the coldest day ever but she was full of energy the whole time and helped us come out of our proverbial shells as we are not a couple who enjoy being in the spotlight or showing much public affection. The photos were gorgeous, especially with the sunrise! She was also very flexible and rescheduled for rainy weather on previous scheduled shoot days. For the wedding day itself, she made the right call to encourage a second photographer, and she was great as well! She made sure that she got all of the family/friends groups in photos off of our checklist. My husband's family is HUGE and three of his siblings and two cousins had recently had weddings. My husband's family were all impressed with Layla's professionalism, organization, and efficiency and they said that she was the best they had seen, which is saying a lot. She goes to great lengths to capture the perfect shot, climbing on tables and chairs, wiping away spider webs with her bare hands, moving goose poop so it wouldn't get on my dress because it was the perfect lighting to get a picture. She works so meticulously and swiftly to make sure everyone and everything in the shot looks fantastic. She always answered my emails promptly, is always professional, and in the weeks leading up to the wedding we discussed what shots we wanted so there would be no time lost on the day of trying to decide what kind of pictures we wanted. When we returned from our honeymoon there was a package from her with a personalized thank you box with a handwritten note and a USB drive with all of our high-def pictures waiting. I highly recommend Layla to anyone who wants one of a kind pictures for their special day. She works for herself so all the booking, communication, planning, shooting, editing and retouching is done by her, not by a company. I've noticed other brides that have used larger photography companies have more basic/standard shots that don't really capture the personalities or vibes from the day. The usb and the encasement of everything was an adorable presentation that essentially is a keepsake :) Our album is beyond words. After meeting her, we immediately knew she was the one and wanted to cancel all of our meetings with other photographers (what was the point?! Layla was perfect for the job). A few months later, we ended up cancelling our traditional wedding in favor of changing to a destination wedding in Punta Cana. Her photos are a true depiction of what actually happened at our wedding. The photos immediately evoked tears. While going through the photos, it was like I was reliving my wedding day. Every shot was sequential and comprehensive... like a movie. I am in love with every single picture she took. I have something like over 800 photos stored in my favorites on her client website... and that is me narrowing them down a million times. She's a hard worker, fun to get along with and she has a great attitude - our wedding took place on her birthday but she seemed like she wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else. Finally, the price is great for the responsiveness, quality, professionalism and personality you get with Layla. The package we bought, which included our engagement and wedding shoots, online albums, USB drives with high-quality images, and a wedding album, was completely worth it. We have no reservations about recommending Layla wholeheartedly. She is the best.
