Before signing the contract with Life Gallery Studio all the way up to the week of our wedding, we had actually received wonderful service from the company representative/co-owner Scott. However, on our wedding day, we found that our photograph...er, Rhonda, did not exactly live up to what we had come to expect from our communication with Scott. Although Rhonda seemed to be putting forth a bit of effort in capturing all of the special moments during our ceremony, once we were settled in at our reception venue, Rhonda settled in as well, in the back corner behind our table (where she remained for about 2.5 of the 3 hours she was there). When she was actually taking photos, she had the most difficult time pronouncing my name (which is only four letters, by the way) and started calling me by a completely different name, even seconds after my husband corrected her. (This may seem trivial and although we laughed it off in the moment, to consistently call the bride by the wrong name shows how little she cared and how poorly focused her attention was.) 45 minutes before my husband and I were set to make our “grand exit,” Rhonda asked us if we wanted her to stick around. Given that she wasn’t doing much anyway and it seemed that she did not want to be there, we told her that she could leave.
We were concerned that Rhonda did not take enough photos of our guests (we only had around 40 people in attendance, so we had hoped to have a few nice photos of everyone); however, we decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and wait to see the photos instead of going directly to Scott with our complaints. Once we had a look at the photos, not only did we find that there were hardly any pictures of our guests from our reception, but that a large amount of the pictures had people’s faces cut off or hidden by objects. We took our complaints to Scott and instead of receiving an apology, which was all we were looking for, Scott had an argument in favor of Rhonda for almost every issue we brought up, and those issues he did not have an argument for, he ignored completely. He even went as far as to blame the small size and layout of our wedding for the poor quality of the photos. As for remembering our names, he called my husband by the wrong name (Jason instead of Justin) in his response email to our complaints and made no apologies when I corrected him.
As I understand from other reviews, people have had great experiences with the photographers of Life Gallery Studio, including Rhonda. Our experience may have been an outlier. However, the way in we were treated by both Rhonda and Scott shows the complete disregard they had for how we felt. If proper service is important to you, it may be best to look elsewhere.
