When my husband I were planning our wedding, we talked a lot about the food. We had been to weddings in the past where the food was cold or undercooked, and all the guests could do...
was complain. We wanted our guests to enjoy themselves and their meals. Lockkeepers' blew us and our guests away with the food and drinks that were served!! Guests are still writing me and telling me how much they enjoyed not only the food, but the venue so much. Stefani was incredible and so easy to work with. It was so convenient to have the food, the drinks, the dance floor, the linens, the silverware, etc all through one vendor. I found in my research that it was also much more cost efficient. We stuck to our budget and our wedding was a blast! We are so fortunate that they were available for our day!
My wedding party and immediate family went to Lockkeepers after our afternoon reception for dinner. The service was impeccable! Stefani Crider came down several times to check on...
everything; our servers were helpful, attentive and extremely professional. The food was exactly as we ordered, and it was delicious! Everyone loved their meal. The bill was exactly what we anticipated and it was very detailed, so we could quickly check it as we were leaving. We absolutely loved working with Stefani and eating at Lockkeepers!
Choosing to stick to a budget is always hard for a wedding especially when you only get one day to do it. LockKeepers staff not only provided amazing food and a elegant decor, they...
also catered to some of the little things we wanted (customized dessert choices and wine selection). We went for mainly the food and to have an elegant night. The italian buffet is also very affordable at $30 pp where most places are way over that. Come here for amazing food and an elegant night to celebrate with family.
We had a lovely afternoon reception at Lockkeeper's. It's now almost 3 weeks since the wedding, and we continue to get compliments on how amazing the food was. Many saying (many ...
times) that it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. "You guys really treated us [your guests] well at your wedding!"
What did I love?
The food:
The quality of food is amazing at Lockkeeper's. The taste, the presentation, everything. While Lockkeeper's is an expensive restaurant, by having an afternoon reception (with the plated lunch option) we were able to have great food for our guests without breaking our budget.
The printed menu:
At Lockkeeper's, we were able to choose 3-4 entree items that were then used to create a printed menu for each of our guests. I loved that my guests weren't stuck with the usual buffet line of chicken and beef. Instead they could chose a dish they wanted the day of the event. For our menu, we chose Baked Atlantic Salmon, Pork Saltimbocca, Chicken Piccata, and Lasagna. Each was a big hit.
The space:
The space they have upstairs for private dining is beautiful, and Lockkeeper's itself is beautiful. Our wedding was during the holidays so it was further decorated for the holidays, such that I did not even add anything decor-wise for our wedding. That was just my personal choice though. You definitely can add to the decor to personalize it for your wedding. For simplicity, I just chose not to.
The photography options:
Lockkeeper's is beautiful, so inherently all the candid reception pictures look amazing. Plus, there's many spaces within the restaurant to take staged pictures. The staircase, the sommelier room, downstairs in the entryways, etc.
Valet:
Lockkeeper's has (optional) valet. It was definitely a nice touch for our wedding, and I know many made use of it.
So what did I not love?
Our day-of coordinator:
We worked with their head of private dining leading up to the event and looked forward to working with her the day of our event. When we arrived though, we had someone else assigned to work with us. A woman named Laura. If I had at least been informed beforehand, it would not have been an issue. But I would have much preferred the opportunity to talk with that person at least once before the event. And as it was, we were not as impressed with this person as we had been with the head of private dining. To be fair, she may have run plenty of the behind-the-scenes items fine, but our interaction with her was not smooth. We had a hard time finding her much of the time and did not enjoy her general attitude. Not an easy person to work with. I would request someone else if given a do-over.
The cake cutting:
We had 66 guests and a cake for 75 people. Lockkeeper's cut the cake in SUCH thin slices that we had almost half the cake leftover! This was very disappointing.
You owe it to yourself to look at Lockkeepers for your wedding. We had guests from Manhatten to San Franciso and they exclaimed over the food and the service. "We were made to feel...
so special with so many details" was the common assessment I heard. Ms. Stefani Crider was simply remarkable in helping guide us to even that indeed become the wedding of my dreams. FABULOUS only begins to capture the multiple and quality of the food served warm. Professional and amicable describes the service that I did not realize was even a possibility. LOVED IT AND THEM!
wonderful food and service
