The costs were daunting, the styles we had seen didn't seem to match our personalities, and we were overwhelmed by the sheer number of things we needed to plan for. It was the thought of having video of our oldest and youngest family memebers that kept bringing us back thinking we should do this, and then the clouds parted and we found Lauren with Lovebug Pictures. First of all, Lauren is the best. When you’re planning your wedding and need to meet a ton of vendors and pick the right ones for you it can start to feel exhausting, but from the beginning Lauren was a clear standout. She made us feel seen and heard, like she immediately bought into our vision and was going to make it happen. Her ease and personability made us fast friends, and having her with us on the day of the wedding felt so easy, like she was one of the gang. Lauren was able to capture very authentic moments because she got to know us and we felt so comfortable around her. Beyond videography it felt like she was in our corner, helping us find moments to unwind and escape from the hubbub of the event. The video itself blew us away. The quality was outstanding and she really managed to capture what our wedding felt like. It gave us the chance to re-experience a day that went by way too fast. And we were so proud to share it with our friends and family who couldn’t make it, knowing it was the next best thing to actually being there. Lauren is the best! Not only did she create a timeless wedding video for us to share with our family and friends, but she was a pleasure to work with and made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera..not that we even remotely conscious we were being filmed on our wedding day, lol. If I thought screaming my love for Lovebug Pictures from a mountain top would be an effective way to leave a review, I would do it. I cannot fully express my gratitude for Lauren and what she provided for my husband and me on our wedding day. I honestly don't think of myself as comfortable in front of the camera, but Lauren is so sweet, so fun, so cool, so confident behind the camera, that one of my favorite parts of our big day was the moment when we got to sneak off with her and our photographer. And the end product! Oh my god! If you are on the fence about whether a videographer is worth it - LAUREN IS WORTH IT. So many wedding videos are cookie cutter, but Lauren's are unique and clearly crafted to fit each couple. Her energy is infectious and working with her was truly a joy! If you are reading this, this is your sign to hire Lauren of Love Bug Pictures for your big day! I have a lot to say so I've split this review into 3 parts: 1. Lauren's Talent and Professional Background I am a filmmaker and have an MFA in Film and Television Production from the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts. As shooting my own wedding seemed like not a realistic option, I began my search online for that special someone. We didn't want some cheesy video of us we would cringe to watch, we wanted something fun, poetic, energizing... something that captures our spirit and excitement as our new family carves our own path. I searched and I searched through many a teary-eyed traditional "I do" before stumbling onto Lauren's work. When I was searching for someone to capture our wedding, I wanted someone who not only had talent, but who had that "thing." That special sauce of vision, creativity, humour, and excellent vibes. In a wedding-obsessed culture, I wanted someone who saw the humanity in it all - the mess, the chaos, the humour, the real-lifeness. Lauren is the whole package. Not only is she a blast to work with, but she also has a passion for storytelling, which shines through in her incredible body of work. She has a background in documentary film and truly knows her stuff. Her eye for capturing real moments and weaving them into a story is beautiful, touching, and often hilarious. 2. Our experience with Lauren Our relationship with Lauren went the distance! As many a pandemic wedding couple experienced, our wedding date was postponed. Lauren was incredibly flexible and gracious and worked with us as we found our new date, a year later. Beyond that, Lauren brought her unique vision and shared our excitement. Lauren truly BROUGHT IT on our wedding weekend. She is energetic, observant, self-sufficient, and an absolute pleasure to be around. Technically, she is also skilled: Lauren had a drone, a Super 8 Camera, her own lighting and audio set up... list goes on. Let's just say I was very impressed. With Lauren and her camera around, I felt like we were in super good hands (and as I am a film micro-manager and true creative bossypants I felt I could relinquish creative control to Lauren and that all would be okay). Trusting Lauren to do her damn thing was the best thing and we were rewarded by this trust, because our video is spectacular. 3. The final video I sometimes watch the film Lauren made and just stare at it in awe.I can't believe it's our video. It's so perfect in every way. From the music, to the edits, all of it is superb. Wow. We had the pleasure to work with Lauren as our videographer and as soon as we FaceTimed over the phone for our intro call, we knew she was the one for us. Working with Lauren is an absolute joy. We had her cover our traditional tea ceremony, as well as our wedding ceremony and reception a couple days later. Lauren absolutely crushed it on both accounts. Lauren has an exceptional eye for detail and those precious split-second moments. She is so so good at telling your story, the way you want it to be told. Since the moment my husband and I met Lauren at the Portland Wedding Crawl (2 years before our 8.26.22 wedding), we knew we wanted her to capture our day. Anyone who's met her knows how friendly, funny, easy going and creative she is. Follow her instagram and you'll be amazed by her talent! From our first meeting to the day of, we knew we were in good hands with her. Leading up to the big day, she was always accessible for any questions we had. On the day of the wedding, she helped guide some of our movements - which we were so thankful for bc we had no idea how to not look awkward on camera lol. She has this perfect balance of somehow blending into the background while also feeling like one of your besties always by your side. Now how do I put into words the emotion our wedding video evokes in me? We knew her final work of art would be amazing, but we were still blown away when we got our first glimpse! We have rewatched it over and over again and love it a little more each time. We are so grateful we met Lauren and overall so happy with our decision to have a videographer in addition to a photographer. If you are on the fence, take the leap of faith with Lovebug Pictures!

TLDR: Hire Lauren immediately. For those of you that want more detail, Lauren created the most stunning piece of art for us! The video she made is just so US. As you’ll see from her work, she creates very diverse videos for the folks she works with. She has an amazing ability to pick up on your vibe as a couple almost instantly. She’s also terrific at matching energy. We loved to dance, so she had us dance all day. We love to be goofy, so there’s a lot of that, too. There’s also beautifully shot b-roll and hugely romantic moments that she captured. This is the best money we spent on our wedding. Thank you for capturing us and our day so perfectly, Lauren. Hands down, the best wedding decision we made was hiring Lauren. She is ridiculously talented, a ton of fun to work with, and can take a kernel of your vision and literally make your entire life flash before your eyes. We chose Lauren because her portfolio shows love stories unfolding between super interesting characters. You really feel like you get to know the people getting married rather than just basic venue drone shots and a flowing veil. Her work includes your wedding day, but tells a much bigger story about your personalities and relationship. We chose to invest in having Lauren with us the day before the wedding as well to capture our family and friends playing at the beach and having happy hour at a brewery. It really helped us get relaxed in front of the camera before the wedding and the footage turned out so awesome!!! Just a different dimension when everyone is goofing around in swimsuits vs tuxedos. Early on, we talked with Lauren about creating something that would incorporate childhood footage of us and our families. We wanted it to feel like a documentary that would be an heirloom for our kids and grandkids to recognize themselves in one day. She combed through dozens of hours of archival footage and wove it into our story so beautifully! She found the most incredible little frames of detail from our childhoods and connected them to our vows in ways that just made us both feel so seen and captured. Watching it back literally feels like she is inside our memories, and I can feel all these little pieces of myself surfacing during such a special life milestone. Our parents absolutely treasure this too. Words don’t do her work justice, but you will not regret investing in her art. Every other part of our wedding was kind of a blur - the venue, the food, the flowers, the music, etc. They were all lovely, but video captures everything in a way you can actually keep with you and re-experience forever. Can’t recommend Lovebug Pictures enough!

Our experience with Lovebug Pictures was so dang GOOD! We really debated whether or not we wanted a wedding video. A lot of wedding videos weren't our style and it is a pretty significant investment for us. But when we found Lauren's website we knew we finally had a real contender! Our initial phone call went so great and I think we talked 20 minutes longer than planned because we got along so well. She really understood what we were looking for and was willing to get creative with us. She incorporated different mediums and went above and beyond what we could have imagined. Not only is Lauren incredibly multi-talented, but she is the type of person you would love to have around during such an important, fun, and at times stressful day! She really felt like a friend and we never felt like we had a camera in our faces or like the video was taking away from the moment we were having. Lauren was very gracious with her time and did everything she could to make us feel taken care of. We are so glad we invested in a wedding video because it really brings the wedding back to life in a unique way that compliments our photos so well. We seriously can't thank her enough for documenting all the important moments & speeches, and for capturing the essence of our wedding so beautifully. I was hesitant to hire a videographer for my wedding because of budget but took the leap with Lovebug and am soooo glad I did! Lauren is truly talented and wonderful to work with. Her professionalism, eye for creativity, and genuine personality made the process effortless and SO much fun. Your memories should be as beautiful and authentic as the day itself and Lauren delivers. She has a way of evaporating jitters, evoking laughter, and drawing out our best selves to capture not just what happened that day but who we are as individuals and as a couple. Lauren is one of those few people that is able to capture who each couple is individually. There are so many videographers that have their aesthetic and focus on that through each wedding. Not Lauren. She's focused on capturing the day and the personalities of each person and couple. My wife and I's day was very wet and gloomy; we definitely planned it this way because we got married at a waterfall here in the PNW and fall is our season. Lauren did not complain at all and was able to improvise through the rain. Our wedding was very small and personal and she was able to capture small moments on camera that were so special to us. Without knowing us much, Lauren was able to capture our love story in a short 7-minute film. She's a super cool, outgoing and caring individual. She takes the time to make your wedding film unique and special. Lauren isn't just a wedding videographer she's a cinematographer who uses her creativity to create a timeless film for each couple she works with. She's the absolute best!

This was hands down the best experience I've had working with a videographer. Lauren created a promotional video for a weekly event we hold at my store. As a business owner, finding someone who you trust to bring your vision to life is hard. There is an idea swirling around in your head but will someone else be able to see the same vision? Lauren was able to combine all of the ideas I had and add in elements I didn't even know I wanted but now can not imagine the video without. We stayed on budget and she was personable and easy to work with throughout the entire process.

She was so good at creating something that really reflected my husband and I’s personalities. We had booked her as a videographer prior to the pandemic and ended up using her services for a film for our mini-wedding adjusted to precautions in addition to booking her for a later date post-covid. My wife and I went on a few wedding venue crawls when we were doing all the fun planning things and met with a number of videographers and there is definitely no shortage of them out there which can be very overwhelming. We were hesitant to even get a videographer but after hearing some good things from our photographer we decided to meet with Lauren at lovebug and have a beer and see if we liked her vibe. Needless to say we immediately clicked with her and said we would love to move forward with her. With everything pandemic related to say it was a typical experience would be far from the truth but despite everything Lauren was able to step up time and time again even when the fires in the PNW made things that much more hectic. We had a teaser video within a week after the wedding that blew us away. We are excited to see the finished product and would absolutely recommend/use her for any future filming needs!

We haven’t received our final footage yet, but we just got married and I needed to tell everyone how amazing Lauren is. First of all, we booked her very last minute because of our change of plans (dang Covid). She was very helpful, we talked on the phone about how we met and she learned a little bit about us and we learned about her. I really loved this, because I felt that she was invested and cared about our individual story. She cares so much about everyone I can’t even begin to describe her energetic, corky, fun, passionate attitude! I’d definitely use her again if we ever needed video footage for future events. She’s extremely easy to work with and wants you to love your product, tell her how you feel and she’s beyond helpful. A little about the event, Lauren helped guide us in the right direction with her amazing ideas. Lauren is an outstanding videographer and photographer. I hired her to do both (a rare combination). She did engagement photos/video the day before the wedding and my wedding, as well. She is a true artist. I can't tell you how many people have said--"Who did your photos? They are out of Vogue!" She traveled to Chicago for my wedding. Lauren's cinematography style caught my eye instantly, it was unique, timeless, and artistic. We even met at a wedding crawl, to add to the fun! Having a wedding during a pandemic, we wanted to make sure we could share our special day with those who couldn’t be with us. Our short videos were pure ART! Lauren got us hyped up from day one! My husband and I have our own version of how we met on Instagram. She creatively incorporated how my husband slid into my DM. You’ll have to go back and watch it! I did a lot of research on videographers for our wedding because I know it's one of the biggest and most important investments couples make. Once I found Lauren it was a no brainer to hire her. Then the pandemic hit; our plans changed around quite a lot. Lauren was the first person to reach out and see how she can help. She rolled with it all while maintaining positive and supportive energy. Leading up to and throughout our big day Lauren made us feel so comfortable (we are v awkward usually in front of the camera) and laugh the entire time. Lauren was creative and flexible from day 1. Neither of us wanted the traditional slowmo thing, so we were excited to find someone like Lauren who was excited to experiment and have fun with it. After our original wedding plans got cancelled due to COVID, Lauren was so flexible and let us completely change our plans up until just a couple days before our Plan B elopement. We couldn't have friends and family come celebrate with us, but we were so happy to have this amazing video to share with them. I never realized how important a wedding video would be to me until Lauren showed us the first cut of our film. She so beautifully captured the spirit of the day and all of the small details we spent so much time designing/planning. Before the big day we met twice to discuss what was most important for her to capture and the general style/feeling I liked. In this respect I found that she was very flexible and the whole process really felt like a collaboration. The actual day was such a whirlwind, so I loved seeing the whole event from getting dressed to dancing at the end, all over again. Now we'll remember this special day for a lifetime!
