I was very disappointed with Lovely Cakes. She was recommended to me and I wish I had gone with a different vendor. She doesn’t offer tastings unless you are serving 80 or more. Charged extra money per cupcake for fancier icing on top. No confi...rmation call or touching base before wedding and no confirmation or thank you upon receipt of full payment. Every other vendor touched base within two weeks of wedding to confirm details, thank us for giving them business, and to wish us a happy wedding day.
The worst was when I arrived at the venue, the cupcakes, Anniversary cake and stand had been delivered to a different venue at the same beach. Upon delivery to the wrong (empty) venue, no call was made to inquire out to confirm delivery. I was told that the deliverer refused to bring to the right venue a ten minute walk or 30 seconds drive away. So my father, who is in his 70’s, along with my sister, had to move the entire cake stand on foot across the beach, and the Anniversary cake fell on my father’s face. I was SO ANGRY to hear about this terrible service. A miscommunication must have occurred but any other vendor would have happily brought the cupcakes to the correct venue, I can’t even believe that they didn’t correct the situation and that the father of the bride dressed for the occasion was carrying a 30 on cake stand in excessive heat across a beach because the vendor wouldn’t do it. Unbelievable…what’s more the cupcakes were nothing special. Very small: 1” high cake, 1/2” of frosting on top…$4 each. I could have done the icing, did not look like pictures and was not the flavor I ordered, or if it was it did not taste like it. Honestly, Whole Foods has better cupcakes re: flavor, design, size and price point.
The only positive is that the watercolor buttercream Anniversary cake was exactly what I wanted, it was lovely. Did not make you for the mediocre cupcakes and terrible service.
