My partner and I had our wedding reception at Madera Kitchen on June 4, 2022. We also rented the AirBnB affiliated with the venue for 3 nights leading up to the wedding day and an extra night after.
Knowing that the perfect venue doesn't exist, we were most interested in ensuring a convenient location for out of town guests--i.e., not having guests drive 3.5 hours after flying--and fantastic food and drinks. Madera fit the bill. It's not in the most beautiful neighborhood, but the interior makes up for it. Because we also were not particular about picking out tables, chairs, linens, etc, we loved that Madera came with so much already. The decor is fun, bright, modern, and a bit boho, but honestly, after scrolling through thousands of wedding photos at this venue, it can really be turned into whatever you envision. There is so much greenery and art within the venue itself already, we didn't have to bring too much extra. In fact, we didn't even hire a florist. We had friends help with floral arrangements.
Because we didn't get to try some things and hadn't finalized our entrees after the first tasting, Jennifer, the events manager, was also very accommodating about scheduling us a second tasting. Joshua was another in-house manager who oversaw the tastings and actually was there the day of our event. He was very helpful at both tastings with helping us map out tables, where desserts should go, the welcome table, etc... Though I barely saw him, everything went smoothly on our wedding day, and we have a lot of reason to believe that this was due to Josh's experience hosting so many events. Milton, the owner, was also very generous with upgrading our dessert bar after we got a lot of last minute cancellations due to covid.
Overall, we had a fantastic wedding day, and many guests raved about how the food and especially the cocktails were among the best they've had at weddings.
Unfortunately, I can't recommend Madera for a wedding venue. Despite it being a charming location with good drinks and food, the event management soured the planning experience for us.
We hired the restaurant's in-house planner, Jenn, but had to fire her and hire someone else a month before the wedding because we weren't satisfied with her planning services. We paid her her whole fee anyway without argument. Nonetheless, she still showed up at our wedding, despite saying she would not. It was awkward to say the least.
Additionally, the photo booth that we paid extra for, which was central to our guest party favor, did not function properly for most of the night.
We also paid a mandatory 20% service charge (over $3K) that was supposed to go toward gratuity according to our contract, but we were told the day before our wedding that if we didn't allow tip jars on the bar, the bartenders (who were wonderful) would not get any tip. It put us and our guests in an awkward position.
Finally, we also rented the house owned by the restaurant owner to get ready in. While nice, the day after our wedding we got a call asking for more money to clean, despite paying a cleaning fee already, because we left two boxes by the garbage can.
It was just one thing after another. There are lots of beautiful venues in LA. Just make sure the management is up to the task of not ruining your experience.
My wife and I got married at the Madera 8/6/21. We would happily recommend it to any other couple planning their wedding. Not only is the venue unique and beautiful, all of the staff did an excellent job and the restaurant quality food was delicious!
I DJ'd for a wedding at Madera Kitchen earlier this year (on 04/30/2021). I've performed for many venues throughout Southern California, but Madera Kitchen stood out as one of my favorites!
The venue has a beautiful, welcoming atmosphere. It also has the perfect location in the heart of Hollywood. After their wedding ceremony at a nearby church, the couple was able to fit in wedding photos at Griffith Park and throughout Hollywood, all before cocktail hour started at Madera Kitchen.
Madera's staff was professional, friendly, and helpful as well. They were very conscious of all the details that make a wedding perfect for a couple and their guests. Jennifer in particular was great with her communication, and she made the planning process way easier for me as a wedding vendor. The couple was very happy with their wedding as well!
I recommend Madera Kitchen to anyone who's looking for a great atmosphere, location, and service for their wedding!

I cannot begin to express my gratitude towards Madera. My wedding, like many others, was ruined by COVID. We were postponed from April 19, 2020 to October 11, 2020. We lost our original reception venue. We lost deposits. We were truly broken hearted and ready to give up. We accepted that a big wedding celebration just wasn’t it the cards. We almost settled for the chapel elopement with zoom streaming which is what I absolutely did not want. We were just looking for a place to eat with outdoor seating for after.
Well, yelp lead me to Madera’s website and the first thing I saw was a pop up that said they were taking micro event and had special pricing for couple’s who’s weddings have been ruined by Covid. Talk about a SIGN. Everything moved very fast from that point. I immediately emailed event director Jenn Laskey to get more info. I didn’t have much hope tbh because we didn’t have much left to spend. Well, Jenn being the angel that she is really made every effort to work with me. I was sold from the customer service alone and that didn’t disappear after we signed the contract and paid the deposit. Jenn stayed on top of everything from start to finish, even after! We had 6 weeks to pull Plan C together- an intimate 37 guest (All family) micro-wedding. We moved everything to Madera completely including the ceremony.
Our tasting was scheduled quickly. The food was fantastic from start to finish and bartender AJ worked with us to create two killer featured cocktails that could be ordered virgin as well! Green dolphin and Rosemary Jane were our cocktail winners! We met the owner Milton who was nice as ever and our future site manager for the day of- Marco (also so nice!). The venue itself IS STUNNING AND NEEDS MINIMAL ADDITIONAL DÉCOR. They own their own beautiful wood tables and chivari chairs plus a bunch of mix and match eclectic lounge furniture! All of that would’ve been a massive extra expense if rented! The venue is dripping in greenery and romantic lights, a true modern boho dream! Both my fiancé and I fell in love during our first walk through!
Our big day couldn’t have gone smoother, then venue took extra safety precautions in regards to COVID. The guest tables were generously spaced out and limited to less than 8 per table all seated with household members. Party dancing was unfortunately not allowed for safety reasons but Jenn and Milton allowed us to keep all our ceremonial milestone dances (first dance, mother-son, father-daughter). Servers were all in masks during the duration of the event, temp checks were done, and all food was served rather than presented buffet style. Both Jenn and Marco were present as our site reps and hands on the whole night. I had such a STRESS FREE WEDDING DAY it almost seemed unreal! The venue was ready when I arrived! My wedding photos are CINEMATIC because the venue. Our guests were fed non-stop the entire night. Welcome champagne then tray passes, opening course, main entrée, then multiple desserts and after dinner coffee/tea! Our guests are STILL talking about how INSANE the food and drinks were! Jenn checked on us constantly throughout the night. Our wedding was intimate, & perfect. It was Quality over Quantity. We were able to spoil our smaller guest list and have a more magical and memorable night than we ever imagined. I’m so grateful for Jenn and the entire MADERA TEAM! If you’re considering Madera for your big day, don’t hesitate. You’re making a great choice!
We had our wedding at Madera Kitchen this past June. From the time we toured the location and tasted the food for the first time we knew Madera was the perfect venue for us! We received so many compliments from guests about how beautiful the venue was and how wonderful the food and drinks were. The food and drink presentation was out of this world, it felt like foodie heaven! They re-designed their vine wall this past spring which made for an amazing backdrop for our ceremony. The venue is so versatile and flexible, the staff at Madera were incredible and the coordinating services provided by Jennifer Laskey were amazing! We couldn't have imagined our special day going any better.
An amazing place! Totally flexible space where all the furniture is on wheels to make the rooms whatever you want. This makes socializing and party throwing super easy. Although we didn't have a wedding here, it's a wonderful place for one. It's a naturally romantic atmosphere. If you are looking for an outdoor feeling but nervous about the weather this is the place for you. It feels outdoors, but it's all covered. Since everything is on wheels, you can easily change the set up of the space. We held a party for my daughter. Things couldn't have gone any better. The food and drinks were delicious and plentiful. The passed apps kept coming. We had a buffet dinner that flowed well. We got compliments from all the guests as to how terrific the service, food and drink was. The space itself is beautiful and easy to be in. The special events coordinator, Jennifer, and the assistant manager, Josh, made the evening flawless. Looking for an excuse to throw another party. For now, we'll have to settle for another delicious dinner there
What a wedding reception!! The minute I saw Madera Kitchen I knew, stylistically, it was perfect for us. What I didn't know, was how amazing the experience was going to be! The staff were absolutely amazing, Jen was a huge part of making everything perfect, and the food was beyond anything I could have hoped for! Our guests all gushed about how delicious it was, and how full they were!! Which was my goal, too many weddings I have been to leave you running for the nearest fast-food joint out of starvation. That certainly was not the case here. So beautiful, so accommodating and shockingly enough was the best and fairest price for what we got! Thank you Madera and Jen!
Our 11/11/18 wedding at Madera was everything we could have hoped for! It was the first venue we looked at, and right away we knew it was something special. Working with Jenn was amazing. After telling myself I would be a "cool, casual bride" I did an about-face a few months ahead of our wedding, and became extremely detail oriented and particular. Jenn handled my 2am emails, and lists upon lists of questions with patience and grace. We couldn't have asked for a better person to plan our special day with. She helped us for MONTHS, was easy to communicate with and fun to bounce design ideas off of. She made the most stressful moments of planning feel easy and manageable. It was incredibly helpful to have someone who knows the venue so well- everything was beautiful and ran smoothly from our point of view, and it is a testament to how hard Jenn worked behind the scenes to make the evening so special. She helped bring my vision to life, and the space was beyond beautiful!
Our wedding at Madera Kitchen on 10/20/18 was truly above and beyond what I could have imagined. It was the first (and only!) venue we looked at. We weren't interested in traditional venue halls, and we knew right away Madera was the vibe what we wanted. It's such a unique venue. We had been there so many times throughout the planning process but once it's transformed the day of your wedding it feels like you walked into a brand new (magical!) place. We had 119 guests with a ceremony in front of the wine barrel wall (coolest backdrop ever) and outdoor dinner/reception. So many of our guests said they had never been to a wedding like it. Jenn Laskey is their Director of Special events. We also hired her as our wedding coordinator (Weddings by Jennifer Laskey). She made everything run SO smoothly. It was all a blur haha but we have people telling us it was the best wedding they've ever been to! So much fun. Everything looked SO stunning and beautiful. I didn't have a clear vision and am terrible at design, so we basically left a lot of setup design to Jenn, and everything looked more amazing than I could have imagined. Our design lent itself perfectly to the existing Madera decor which is already pretty magical. Jenn was so patient, had great communication throughout the planning process, has amazing attention to detail, and an amazing eye for design. She is wonderful and so good at what she does! Madera was the best!
We instantly loved the atmosphere at Madera Kitchen. This venue has great indoor and outdoor space, tasty food, and delicious cocktails. The space is perfectly laid out in way that is intimate but does not feel crowded. Madera Kitchen is already such a beautiful space (plenty of greenery, gorgeous lighting, an amazing mural, and exposed brick and wood) that we were able to keep additional decoration to a minimum.
For the day of, Jennifer was essential. We never had to stress about a single detail or the timing of anything. She handled communication with all the vendors and made sure things were setup and happening on time. Everything ran smoothly thanks to her and her team at Madera.
My husband & I initially had a different venue booked, which we realized was not suited to us. We ended up canceling that venue & had looked at many, many others in search of somewhere we felt comfortable with. We did this all from afar, from Colorado. We were in town & had the chance to see the venue & met with Jenn, & we immediately knew this was it! Everything from beginning to end was amazing. Jenn went above & beyond in every way possible, & we know the day could not have been carried out without her! We honestly feel that we would not have been able to navigate our wedding without Jenn. She was there for us every step of the way & was always thinking ahead & managing whatever we needed. I absolutely recommend Madera as a venue, it is a great space & completely customizable! It is a turn-key venue, but we were able to add our own special touches. It is truly gorgeous, & the food & drinks are amazing!
If these pictures fit the vibe of your wedding, you just have to go in person and see it! It was the only venue my husband and i saw and we absolutely loved it. All of our guests were so impressed with the unique choice for a wedding venue with its decor, ambiance, and food! since its almost all inclusive; not having to deal with catering, bartenders, service help, valet, etc gave us so much peace of mind. we didnt have to spend a ton on decor to make it feel romantic and warm. The weather was perfect. Of course we hired Jenn as our day of Coordinator and was one of the best decisions. The ONLY thing i would have wished for was just a little more TLC in the restrooms to give a complete luxurious feel to match the beautiful space. Not a deal breaker obviously. Also there are really pretty new hotels around that area of hollywood now so your choices are plenty! Best part of having your wedding at a restaurant venue is that you can revisit anytime you want for drinks and a meal!!
JENN IS A ROCKSTAR!! We hired her to be our wedding coordinator for our wedding at Madera, and were absolutely blown away by her attention to detail, excellent vendor referral, and overall fun / helpful demeanor. When I arrived at the venue, all of the decor was exactly as I had dreamed - I was endlessly grateful for her eye for design on our big day! Throughout the evening, Jenn would quietly give us cues for whatever was coming up next - and made sure that Madera staff were in place to accommodate. There are so many details and moving parts that go into a wedding day - Jenn made sure that everything flowed smoothly - so that I could focus on sharing the moment with my husband and our guests. Best night of our lives!
Words cannot express our gratitude for jenn and Madera staff. We had 130people wedding at madera with jenn as coordinator. It was the PERFECT wedding and it's all because of them. Jenn was very helpful as my coordinator .
Also, On the day of wedding madera staff has made us feel they had everything 100% under control. Trust me, you want this for your wedding venue! The day of the wedding ran so smoothly. Everything, every person, every moment...Our guests made so many compliments about food and drinks and were all stunned by how beautiful the venue it was.. We would soooo recommend JENN and Madera Kitchen to anyone looking to plan a wedding or other event. .
We had an amazing experiencing having our wedding at Madera this past February. Our guests have not stopped telling us how beautiful the venue was and how amazing the food and drinks were.
I can't emphasize enough how amazing working with Madera's Director of Special Events Jennifer for our wedding was. We are SO glad we hired her as our wedding coordinator. She knows weddings inside and out. She is very detail oriented - she thought of all the things we didn't think to think of and thank goodness she did.
When it comes to planning a wedding, you don't realize all the details that go into it in the beginning. We quickly realized how much there was to do and if we hadn't had Jennifer to help us navigate vendors, pick decor details and decide on the day of timeline... I honestly don't know what would have happened. We probably wouldn't have had as beautiful and meaningful of a wedding as she was able to coordinate for us.
She quickly got to know us and directed us towards details she thought would be a good fit, and she was right about it all. She has a top notch list of Los Angeles vendors that she has worked with and we couldn't have been more satisfied with everything.
The day of the wedding, we were able to truly relax and just enjoy because Jennifer was behind the scenes running everything efficiently and expertly.
The BEST decision we made when planning our wedding was to hire Jennifer as our wedding coordinator. It would have been impossible to navigate all the intricate details ourselves and our wedding would not have had as much of our personal flair without Jennifer's artistic mind.
I cannot begin to describe my gratitude for how thorough, beautiful, accommodating, and FUN Madera Kitchen and it's staff were for our 104-person wedding last weekend. Working with Marco (GM) and Jenn (Event Manager) made things seamless and easy, and I never had to worry about a thing. I was "lucky" enough to have a rainy wedding day, but the night before, the staff at Madera was all hands on deck, making sure the venue was water-ready and cozy for our big day. Not only was Madera an incredible and stunning venue, it was unique, warm, and flexible to whatever needed to be done to make my wedding a dream come true.
The food was amazing, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the drinks were tasty (the shots were our favorite part - drinker beware, they do not pour them small!) We got the the brussel sprouts, artisan cheese plate, watercress salad, goat cheese ravioli, NY rib-eye and the "magic" chicken - all were delicious. They also made sure to make special portions for my vegan guests and guests with food allergies.
Aside from the big details, the care and attention to detail the entire group at Madera was impeccable. Every inch of the venue was customized for us, and it really showed. Multiple guests came up to me and said they had never been to a wedding that was so fun or beautiful. I am so lucky to have had such a wonderful place to say "I Do" and recommend it wholly.
We had our wedding reception at Madera Kitchen for about 140 people and it was such a perfect venue for us. As soon as we stepped into the venue, we knew that we had to have our wedding there - it was so beautiful and exactly the vibe we were looking for. The venue is half indoors and half covered patio and a great partition that opens up to blend the two spaces together. The place has a lot of wood, greens, and candles, which altogether creates the perfect setting for a rustic, cozy wedding. All of our guests were raving about the food, drinks, ambiance, and staff. Jenn Laskey, their event coordinator, is amazing and definitely anticipates any needs beforehand. I highly recommend this venue.
We just had our 80-person wedding at Madera and it was absolutely perfect -- our ultimate dream party! Our guests could not stop raving about the food and drinks and were all stunned by how beautiful the venue was. We have eaten there so many times now during the planning process and literally everything we have consumed has been delicious. Jenn was a fantastic guide to navigating all the event details and she has the most beautiful bohemian taste. We cannot recommend Madera enough.
We just had our wedding at Madera on Nov 4, 2017 and it was great. We couldn't have asked for more from the staff or our coordinator - Jenn Laskey. The food and drinks were on point, and everyone had a great time. The space is beautiful and cozy, requiring little in terms of decoration. They host weddings all the time, so it's a well oiled machine. On top of that, it's reasonable, which is unusual of a space like this in LA. They've more or less got you covered when it comes to everything - so no need for rentals, which was great. There are also a ton of hotels in the area which makes things easy for out of town guests. There is some street noise because it's right on Cahuenga, but you can get a sense for that when you visit. It wasn't an issue for us.
Whether you want an intimate cocktail wedding or a sit down formal event, this venue is absolutely STUNNING! I recently had my wedding at Madera Kitchen with only 27 people and very small budget. The venue needed no decoration and is simply beautiful on its own. I also do not live in the US so i was able to arrange the entire event from across the globe with the help of events planner Jen. She was fantastic in ensuring all my needs were covered and the day was exactly as i had planned without even attending the venue. The food was amazing and all our guests who had all travelled to be at the event, commented on how great the venue and the food were. It was all-round the perfect night and i wouldnt have had it any other way! Thank you Madera Kitchen
My husband and I loved the venue. We didn't want a big stuffy ceremony. Instead we opted for fewer than 50 guests and we wanted a relaxed inviting space and Madera was perfect for that. The space is so pretty that we didn't feel the need to decorate with more than minimal florals. Our guests loved the food and the staff handled everything very efficiently and they were so friendly. In fact, I spilled pesto on my dress during cocktail hour and wanted to cry but one of the managers knew exactly how to get out the stain and saved my wedding dress! I want to give the venue 5 stars but my one drawback was communication. It could be a bit clearer and faster but take that as you will. I was planning an out-of-town wedding with a short engagement so I think I was particularly sensitive if I didn't get an answer that day or didn't feel like I had a super comprehensive answer. I would just say as with anything always ask all your questions, make sure you're clear on all points, and pay close attention to details of your contract. Like I said the day of went off without a hitch and we had a an absolute blast.
Madera Kitchen is most spectacular!
We just celebrated our wedding last weekend, and it was nothing short of magical.
From the moment you step onto the property you are captured by all the unique details. The mixture of natural elements, like the vine wall and hanging plants, to the velvet love seat in front of the fireplace, everything complement each other seamlessly.
Not only is the place a dream, but the venue coordinator Jennifer and the event manager were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Even the chef made a special effort for our gluten free guest.
Beyond the pre-planning which was done with ease with a special thanks to Jennifer for all her hard work, both Jennifer and the event manager made an additional effort during our wedding to check in with us to make sure everything was as we wished.
I would highly recommend Madera Kitchen to any one! It was beyond what I could have imagined for our wedding!
Also, can't forget to say that the food and drinks were top of the line and we can't wait to go back and celebrate our one year anniversary!!!!
I couldn't recommend Jenn more highly for planning an event - she miraculously brought my wedding together in one month and I don't know who else would have the skills, poise, knowledge-base, and energy to pull of what Jenn did.
My now-husband and I were very particular about wanting a personalized, unique wedding ceremony. We wanted to host it at a restaurant so we wouldn't have to bring in any rentals, and searched the city of Los Angeles for one that was big enough to host a sit-down wedding for 100+ and beautiful enough not to need extensive wedding decorations. We found a great place...and a month before our wedding, it shut down.
With a month left till our wedding, we found Jenn online both in her personal capacity as a wedding/event planner, and as the in-house event planner for Madera Kitchen. Everything clicked almost immediately, and she made it so easy. She responded to us right away, and we went from panicked and near-hysterical to truly believing that we had been led to Jenn and Madera Kitchen for a reason. Jenn didn't try to talk us out of our non-traditional wedding, and didn't make us feel weird about what we envisioned. But she was also straight to the point and realistic. She made our poorly thought-out plans better, and let us know what really wouldn't work (we had timed the different events wayyyy too close together. she also had ideas for making sure there was never a long line at the bar, too much time between courses, good timing for the speeches, etc).
Our wedding at Madera Kitchen was everything we wanted it to be. The outside patio is beautiful, and had plants and lights and was perfect for the cocktail party. There is an outside bar and long inside bar, so our guests didn't have to wait for drinks (the worst). The inside is also beautiful, with cute yellow banquets and a gorgeous tiles on the bar. We were able to seat our guests at long tables, and walk down a make-shift aisle before standing and getting married before dinner. The staff was amazing - kind to the guests, friendly and welcoming during tastings, and effective at making the transitions seamless. We didn't have to bring anything in - they made a dessert bar (churro ice cream sandwich station!), had a microphone and sound system, and created a seated dinner, cocktail party, and dance floor for us. Also, the food and cocktails are amazing (and it's LA - they were great with accommodation our vegan/vegetarian/gluten free guests but still let us have steak, chicken, pasta, the works...).
We've been back to Madera Kitchen just for the food, and will always be grateful to Jenn and the restaurant for saving the day. If you're considering either/both for an event, please feel free to reach out to me via this site.
Thanks,
Anna
We got married at Madera Kitchen July, 2016. It was such a great venue for our 99 guest wedding. We really wanted a beautiful setting with great food and drink and wow, did Madera deliver. Not only that but the staff is incredibly accommodating and kind. This is the kind of establishment that takes good care of their workers and it shows in the personalized service you get.
Our guests raved about the food and drink and the beautiful setting of our wedding for the weeks that followed the wedding. I have no regrets and nothing but wonderful things to say about Madera Kitchen.
I was also lucky enough to use their event coordinator, Jennifer Laskey as my wedding planner - who is seasoned and amazing at everything she touches.
