Maggie J Makeup is a Professional Makeup Artist with over 13 years in the industry, starting her career in NYC working in Education and Training for top brands such as Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, NARS, Sephora EDU and Tom Ford Beauty. During her time as Education Executive for NYC she led campaign photoshoots, NYFW and Bridal Fashion Week events for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics.
Returning to MN, she saw a need for softer, more natural looking makeup in area which led her to build an amazing team of talented artists. With over 6 years of growth here in the Minneapolis metro area, she has a team of 14 MUAs, averaging over 175 weddings a season.

Being an educator for Bobbi Brown has taught me it's not about doing over the top looks that will make someone feel amazing, usually it's focusing on enhancing her features, keeping the mood light and fun and remembering why you are so excited to walk down the aisle. I love the moments right before a bride opens the gift from her groom or right as I touch up her lip before walking down the aisle, those are the moments that are so special to be apart of any brides big day with her & her bridal party!

I worked with only Tia as I had a small getting ready party. She traveled to the venue day of and did a trial the month before. She is so sweet and easy to work with. Makeup isn't something you want to go cheap on in my opinion, so this was worth the splurge. The pictures turned out great and everyone looked and felt amazing!

I cannot say enough good things about Maggie. From the minute I met her at my trial she listened, gave really great advice and made me feel so comfortable. The trial was perfect, I walked out loving my makeup and I also gave it the ultimate test, I went out to a nice dinner and I also slept in it 😅 it held up flawlessly.
On my wedding day all my bridesmaids could not stop talking about how amazing Maggie and Alexa were. We had people of all ethnicities in my bridal party and they navigated through all the skin types perfectly. I highly recommend Maggie and her team. SHES AMAZING!!

Maggie and the EVRY Makeup team were all so amazing to work with, throughout every step of the process in planning my wedding. I was looking for a makeup artist that specialized in "natural glam", and Maggie and her team absolutely nailed it! All of my bridesmaids felt so beautiful - and the EVRY team worked with each of them to create a look that fit their style and met their specific needs.
We had such a great time getting ready in the EVRY studio space as well - the space is perfect for a bridal party or any event. We comfortably had 15 gals getting ready, plus room for lounging and snacking.
Will absolutely be recommending Maggie and the EVRY Makeup team to all my friends getting married in the future!

I hired Maggie J Makeup for my wedding makeup and hair. Kao Hlee and Ashley, the makeup and hair artists, did a great job! I had 4 bridesmaids and a flower girl in my bridal party. They got everyone’s makeup and hair done in plenty of time before the ceremony. My bridal party and I were all very happy with how we looked! It was an overall great experience.

Kao Hlee was absolutely amazing!! Bubbly and sweet and such a talented makeup artist! Made everyone feel and look great! I loved the way she glammed us up, but in a natural beautiful way. The eyelashes were my favorite part! She used individual clumps that felt so light and so well applied that I didn’t even notice them.

I hired Maggie and her assistant Leah to do my wedding day makeup and makeup for my bridesmaids, personal attendants, and moms. Maggie and her team did an outstanding job!! She does such a beautiful natural look that stayed all day long! All of the girls loved their makeup and kept getting compliments from guests all night long! Maggie truly made me feel beautiful and confident on my wedding day. Five stars all the way! I LOVE (and I mean LOVE) all things about makeup! It was a no- brainer to have my bachelorette party here! The ladies and I did a makeup lesson, and we had SO much fun! As much as I try to follow trends and do my makeup (FULL glam, every day), even I learned some new things! KaoHlee was our artist for my wedding, and she was FABULOUS! SO much fun to work with and did an AMAZING job. I highly recommend for any makeup needs!

Maggie absolutely made my wedding makeup dreams come true!! She listened intently to my vision and then worked her magic to create a look that was both stunning and completely me. Not only was my makeup flawless, but it also lasted the entire day, through all the tears, laughter, and dancing. Beyond her talent, Maggie is an absolute joy to be around. She had a calming presence that made getting ready on my wedding day a true pleasure. She’s professional, organized, and always up for a chat which is exactly what I needed to feel pampered and prepared for the big day. I booked Maggie J Makeup for my wedding in Sep 2023. Maggie herself was booked, so I was connected with one of her team, Taylor. Taylor came to my home for a trial and she was warm, kind, and lovely. I am a tomboy when it comes to makeup and I didn't have the vocabulary to express what I wanted done differently. I arranged a follow up call with Maggie and she took the time to talk through makeup vocabulary and helped me find the right words for the look I was seeking. On the day of the wedding, Taylor nailed the look I was hoping for. I felt absolutely stunning and my girls looked 10 outta 10. The day turned out to be really hot, with a thousand percent humidity and everyone said my makeup looked perfectly fresh the entire night, so.... Taylor is clearly a witch.
I cannot recommend Maggie and Taylor highly enough! Kind, caring, talented, capable folks.

Maggie made me feel beautiful. She made me feel exactly how I wanted to feel on my wedding day, a bride but still like myself. From the initial emails to the trial to the big day, she made everything so easy. Maggie talked through what I wanted to vibe of my makeup to be, and then knocked it out of the park. She was able to add an assistant to the day when that wasn't the original plan. Maggie isn't just a "vendor" you hire - she's the bestie you've never known but can trust immediately! I'm so incredibly thankful Maggie was a part of my day.

Maggie and her team were so amazing to work with! Not only was my makeup exactly what I wanted - natural glam, but Maggie made me feel so beautiful, she’s so fun to work with, and she took stress out of the planning process knowing that everything was taken care of for the big day. I cannot put into words how much I absolutely adore Maggie. She is so extremely talented, easy going and fun to be around. She made day of adjustments and was flexible with her timing. She even agreed to squeeze my Mom in for touch ups/lashes super last minute which meant the WORLD to my mom. I have also never felt prettier in my life than after she did my look. She did my entire bridal party and the all looked stunning! So natural looking but noticeably elevated. I wish I could do it all over again!

Maggie was incredibly easy to work with for my wedding day. Annie (Annaliese) was our MU for the big day and she was absolutely amazing. She made me look/ feel absolutely stunning, but not overdone and I couldn't have asked for a better person to be there for this special day. I can't say enough wonderful things about my experience with Maggie J Makeup, specifically my artist Pahoua! I found them when getting my makeup done for my sister in law's wedding in July of 2022, they did a phenomenal job as a team and everyone looked STUNNING in almost 100 degree heat. For my wedding in June 2023 Pahoua not only did another trial with me beforehand, but remembered every little detail we planned, gave me tips as we went for my own routine, and is just an all around lovely person. She totally understood that I'm a stickler about things and an absolute perfectionist and she was meticulous, and patient. On the day of, she was a cool cucumber, she did 7 faces, different ages and skin tones, all flawless. I have never been more relaxed sitting in a makeup chair. I knew I was in good hands and was able to enjoy the last little bit of calm before our day got going. What a gift! I got a beautiful glowing glam look, that showed up beautifully in photos and I felt so confident, and the best part about it is my makeup STAYED in melting humid 90 degree heat we were not expecting. Thank you Pahoua!

It stayed on all night and I love how it looked in photos. Her team is very professional, talented, and fun and took a lot of the wedding day stress off our shoulders. Maggie exceeded all my expectations! She is professional while being so fun and easy to work with. I had my bridal makeup trial in her gorgeous new studio space, EVRY Makeup Studio, where she helped me find my perfect french-inspired, "soft glam" look, that still reminded me of me. On our big day, Maggie's patient, easy-going personality put me at ease. Her work was absolutely stunning and me, my bridesmaids, my mom, and my new MIL, all felt like our most beautiful selves all day long. Maggie really listened to my mom, in particular, who was a bit nervous about getting her makeup done for my wedding. My mom was so happy with her final look and got so many compliments!
I HIGHLY recommend Maggie for your wedding, or really any occasion, and I cannot wait to visit her studio and work with her again!

Her options, process, and pricing are clear and transparent, and she's so easy to work with.
My trial experience was amazing - she makes you feel totally comfortable to give feedback to find your absolute perfect look.
I chose Maggie because her work looked very "natural" for bridal makeup and I was not disappointed. I felt so beautiful and received so many compliments about how radiant and true to myself I looked. Her team is also a dream for makeup-shy moms like mine. They are so patient and make everyone feel comfortable.
And if you aren't convinced, Maggie literally SAVED our wedding day by covering up the black eye my husband got the night before our wedding (absolutely dumb accident, not a bar fight). She stayed late to color-correct and cover it up and it did NOT show up in pictures all night, despite him crying through the entire ceremony.
I simply cannot recommend her enough!

If you’re thinking about hiring Maggie for your big day… DO IT! She makes you feel confident in your own skin, and talks to you as if you're know each other for years. If you have even the slightest concern she will stop and listen. With such a big wedding party I was trying to find someone who could do anything from a natural look to a soft glam. She absolutely nailed it and my girls were drop dead gorgeous!! I couldn’t have felt more beautiful on my special day 🤍

Maggie and her team were absolutely amazing!! I had a large bridal party (10 bridesmaids) and Maggie and the other artist were able to get all of us done on time and even had time for touch-ups if needed! Maggie was professional and easy to contact throughout the whole process. She was so fun to have there on the day of and was accommodating to everyone’s needs. Maggie went above and beyond to make sure me and my wedding party were taken care of. I worked with Annie who was so down to earth and understood exactly what I wanted for my wedding day in terms of a makeup look. Maggie and her team made me and my entire wedding party feel so beautiful. They did an amazing job listening to each of our preferences for how we wanted our make up. Everyone looked and felt so good, they tailored each of our looks to best enhancing our natural features while keeping everyone looking cohesive. Our wedding day was completely outside in a sail cloth tent and we had the craziest weather, drizzling rain before the ceremony/during photos, extreme humidity throughout the ceremony and cocktail hour, more rain during dinner and dances, and then we all jumped in the pool at the end of the night AND MY MAKE UP STILL LOOKED FLAWLESS when I got to our hotel at the end of the night - I was completely blown away. I wish I could give Maggie more than 5 stars, she is that amazing!!! If she has your date available book her right now!

Scheduling and communication was incredible and the makeup artistry itself was absolutely phenomenal. My party was lucky to have Grace do their makeup for them and it looked stunning. Grace listened to each person and delivered exactly what they wanted. I would 10/10 definitely recommend Maggie J Makeup and her amazing team. Also very affordable for couples on a budget.

We loved working with Maggie and Katelyn! Maggie was super accommodating and willing to travel and set up in the salon we chose for hair. She and Katelyn were sooo friendly and really put me at ease. The makeup application was beautiful and tasteful, and the false eyelashes were amazing - I was a dancer and cheerleader and I've never had false eyelashes stay on as long and as well as when Maggie applied them. I would recommend her to anyone!

Maggie is magic! She did such a tremendous job with my makeup for my wedding. She does a trial with you beforehand where she really listens to you and makes sure you look exactly how you want to. I cannot believe how great my makeup turned out and stayed all day and all night! I still looked like me which was important to me. Her partner, Annie, did our bridal party's makeup and was amazing as well. I couldn't have been happier with my wedding day makeup and would recommend Maggie a thousand times over!

I loved having Maggie with me on my wedding day.! I had gotten a spray tan (darker than planned) and she matched the color perfectly, even with the trial being completely different foundation, etc.! Also, she was friendly, outgoing, and put my mind at ease. Loved the mix between natural and glam!

Loved working with Maggie. She did makeup for my boudoir and wedding. Not only did she make me look flawless for my wedding, but the makeup lasted all night! Her personality is so easy to work with and she absolutely knows what she is doing when it comes to make up. My wedding makeup was soft yet sexy at the same time ;) Highly recommend Maggie!!!

Maggie was so pleasant and easy to talk to both during my makeup trial and day of the wedding! She listened to my ideas and even agreed to a second makeup trial because I changed my mind on how I wanted my look. I couldn't say enough about how talented Maggie is, and can make you as glamorous or as natural of a look that you wanted. No need to keep looking for a makeup artist--Maggie is the real deal.

Maggie J was a highlight to my wedding day- I cannot brag enough about her!!!! Not only was my makeup flawless all day on a hot July day. Her presence the morning of our day was more than I could ask for, she was calm, confident and danced along to our morning playlist. When myself and bridesmaids sat in her chair it felt like we had been friends for years, she is so easy to talk to. Maggie’s makeup knowledge and skin care was SO helpful. When I met her at the trial she gave me tips and it keep me glowing for my pre wedding events and of course on the big day. I cannot recommend her LOUD enough, you and you’re bridal party will not regret getting glam with Maggie and her team!!

Maggie did a fabulous job!! Loved the way that my makeup turned out!
Not only is she professional and easy to work with, she is incredibly kind and thoughtful. She's a great listener! She listened to what I wanted, and accented my features well while not overdoing it.
