I had hired Elizabeth in an emergency situation because our original hair and makeup lady had to cancel just days before our event. It was for 4 of us originally, and I paid $150 deposit. A day before the event, I had a death in the family and ...forgot all about letting Elizabeth know that we may only need 2 out of 4 ladies hair service. I notified Elizabeth when she reached. The mother of the groom (aunt) was priority, so I told her to get her hair done first. LITERALLY after about 15 mins max, my aunt came downstairs with a HORRIBLE bun. I don’t know if Elizabeth did a horrible job because she was upset that we cut down to 2 ladies for service, or because her skills are really that bad. Because I was pressed against time, and because I was in emotional distress between a wedding reception and recent death, I respectfully asked Elizabeth to leave and that we I can no longer waste more time in trial and error. I asked her for a deposit refund minus her travels, which she said she will fulfill. GUESS WHAT? It’s almost a month later, she hasn’t refunded my money, nor responded to my messages, calls, or refund requests through Venmo. It is plain evil to take advantage of a situation, and completely unprofessional to no refund money for unsatisfied clients. I had NEVER done updos/buns in life before, but I spent the next hour watching YouTube videos and doing my aunt’s and mother’s hair—which turned out beautiful. My sister and ended up not attending the event because we ran out of time to get ready. Elizabeth, because of you, I was embarrassed for hiring you. The least you could have done in this situation was to return my money—thief and unprofessional. Please try to find a lesson and success with my $150 deposit.
The left image is the bun that she did, the right bun with the hair pins is the bun that I did.
