I was so nervous to try on wedding dresses, but working with Autumn extinguished that fear immediately. She created such a relaxing and welcoming environment, and she provided me so much comfort with her support and unwavering encouragement. I LOVE my wedding dress, and I can’t thank her enough for helping me find the dress of my dreams!
I cannot fully express what a wonderful experience we have had with Margo's! Tracee was so helpful on multiple occasions helping me look for various dresses and sizes that could be ordered. Margo made my dress fit flawlessly and helped me find the perfect veil to go with it. They were also very accommodating with appointment times, as I live out of town. My mother and I have now used Margo's to have several other dresses fitted for weddings, and the work is flawless every time. Highly recommend! Thank you Tracee and Margo!!!
Margo and her staff were good to work with from selecting a dress to final fitting.
Weekends are busy in the shop, so I would recommend weekdays for appointments.
I chose a dress by Essenes of Australia. I ordered in February which was cutting it close for completion for the wedding on August 24, but it was ready! It was very pricey (in my opinion), but worth it. Basic alterations were included in the cost and completed by Margo herself.
The had two issues: 1) The bustle would not stay in place throughout the evening and I had to have it secured with safety pins, so it wouldn't come apart on the dance floor. 2) Long clear threads on the dress that I asked about at every fitting and was ensured they would be clipped during the final steam. They were not and we spent some time clipping them before photos began.
I purchased my dream wedding dress from Margo's. Everyone was very nice to work with. The only "bad" thing I would have to say is that I didn't feel like I got a super personal experience since there was usually only 1 person working and they would be taking care of everyone in the salon. Overall, I had a great experience there and would definitely recommend it to any brides.
I got my wedding dress from Margos because they had the dress I wanted and the other shop I looked at didn’t. Some family had gone there and loved them so I thought I was in good hands. First, she didn’t take measurements of me, she just went with the size that fit me in an entirely different dress. When ordered, I was told my dress would arrive in 12-20 weeks. 20 weeks passed and I hadn’t heard anything. I called them the next week and they said it would be here in a few more weeks. No big deal since I still had 5 months until the wedding. When it came in I got fitted once and mentioned I’d be losing more weight on this detox so to wait taking in my waist. My next fitting after the detox that she scheduled with me, she wasn’t even there so her assistant pinned my dress where it needed to be taken in. My next fitting, the dress still felt baggy on me (trumpet style) and I asked if we could take it in some more. She said she couldn’t because of the lace. I was devastated that I paid over $1600 for a dress that didn’t fit me right. Luckily, my mother in laws friend owns a bridal salon (Wedding Creations) so I went to her for a second opinion. She said it definitely didn’t fit me, that she wouldn’t have left me leave her shop with it looking like that and she was able to take it in unlike what Margo said. She had it done within the 2 weeks before my wedding. So Margos had more of a selection that I was looking for in bridal gowns, but I definitely feel like I got jipped with customer service and being lied to about not taking in my dream dress some more.
Margo made my dreams come true! She completely restructured my dress (by removing the sleeves) to be exactly what I wanted. She then helped complete my look by removing the lace decals from the dress' sleeves, and added them to my veil, creating a perfect look.
I have gotten so many compliments on my dress, and many have asked where they can get it, but it was custom for me! :)
They are truly the best. Excellent friendly service. Great selection and price points. My sister got all her wedding items here and everything was perfect. Going back with a friend for the 3rd time - wouldn't go anywhere else.
I went to the St. Louis Bride and Groom Wedding Show in August, 2015. I ordered a veil from Margo's. The purchase was 50% off of a new veil, if you bought at the wedding show. No refunds. I was so excited. It was a very unique style. The veil that I tried on had some wear and tear at the attachment to the comb, and I remember running my finger across it while I was making my decision. The people were nice, so I decided to go ahead with the purchase. The shop was supposed to get the veil in 4 weeks, notify me of it's arrival, and send me the veil at this point. At the four week mark, my mother called the shop to ask about the veil. They said the veil had just arrived that day, and they would ship it to me immediately. I received the veil a few days later. The veil came folded tightly in a small box with tissue paper and a leopard print bag. This was obviously not a manufacturer's packaging. Also, the veil was dingy and had soiled spots. I emailed the shop to let them know the status of the veil. They apologized and said they had never had a problem with the manufacturer before. I needed to wait to return the veil, as I had scheduled my hair trial around the veil's delivery. They said I could use the veil for the trial and send it back, and meanwhile, they would order a new one right away. When I got the veil out for the trial, I was holding it and ran my finger across the comb. It was at this point that I realized that they sent me the veil from the wedding show. I got a hold of Margo's a week or two later, and let them know I was waiting for the new veil to arrive and would then ship the other veil back to them. They then told me that there had been a misunderstanding and they were waiting for the old veil to come to them before ordering another. At this point, I was completely disgusted. I drove the hour out to Union, to straighten it out. The new veil was pristine and in the manufacturer's packaging. It didn't even look like the same veil. I had paid $20 extra at the bridal show for shipping for my veil, in the first place. I asked the sales associate for the shipping cost back, as the veil was obviously not shipped from the manufacturer as originally agreed upon. They would not refund the shipping. I asked to speak to the owner, who had been confirmed to be at the store. She would not come out and speak to me, and the sales associate would not negotiate any money returned to me. In the end, I paid $20 extra for a lot of hassle. I was shown no respect, and I was lied to - on several occasions. Of all the things to worry about while planning a wedding, I feel that the veil should be pretty low on the priority list. For a company that deals with this on a daily basis, I felt completely scammed. I would never go back to Margo's, and I will be sure to let others know about my terrible experience.
I tried on dresses here and found a dress I liked. However, we were on our own on the 2 occasions I visited. My mom and/or sister had to help me into/out of the dresses. Also we went downstairs to see other dresses and there were straight pins on the floor which was scary with bare feet. They had a good selection of dresses.
I wanted to use this shop, because I liked their 10% off if you buy 3 major things (dress, tux, bridesmaid) and I grew up around the area. Margo helped to find my dress and decided to start using this designer so I could get it from her. My bridesmaids dresses and my wedding dress all arrived on time, early actually. They were available to do alterations and did a great job. They were busy on Saturdays, and sometimes had difficuly keeping someone's attention even if I did have an appt. In the end, I was very satisfied with the shop.
I live out in St. Peters and drove all the way to Union, MO (almost an hour) just to pick out my dress. Not only was my dress given a nice discount because it was bought in a bulk order of Maggie Sottero dresses, but the cost of my dress included alterations. And I mean ANY alterations. Margo and Rachel were great to work with and with how difficult my dress was to get bustled and altered, they did a fabulous job. It's nice to go to a little shop, that has a large amount of dresses, and just be treated so wonderfully.
very professional honest and organized
