Unfortunately I'm going to be extremely biased in my review, as Steve is a personal friend of mine in the Baltimore DJ scene. He did an absolutely amazing job, especially considering I didn't even touch the portal or log in once (sorry!) but provided him with a run of show and song selection a few days before. He was super easygoing the day of, especially considering I'm a DJ myself and had a lot of in-the-moment requests/updates to the run of show- he did great and went with the flow! I had my brothers singing our first dance song live, and plugging them in with mics and 1/4 inch jacks for their instruments was no sweat for Steve! He went off-list when it mattered to keep the dance floor alive, and I don't think there was a moment when it died at ALL (and again, as a DJ myself that's the most important part!) Everyone has told me it was the most fun reception they've ever been to- and I know that's because of the music- so A+ for Steve, give him a raise, a promotion- everything! :)

Working with Neil at Maryland's DJ was a great experience! We had several planning calls where he was responsive and respectful in helping us talk through the vibe we wanted from the wedding, he checked in with us in the months leading up to the wedding, and absolutely kept the party going at the wedding itself. Highly recommend!
Oh my gosh, our DJ, Harvey, was a 10 on everything!!! And the photo booth turned out better than I expected. It was amazing working with Harvey, he was basically our wedding coordinator! Everyone complimented his dj skills and my husband and I loved his transitions and making sure that we're still on schedule or if anything needed to be changed around due to time.

We had the BEST time working with DJ Steve! He was so much fun to ideate with and delivered on all of our requests. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed his set and found him to be very personable! We had a few last minute requests that Steve was able to adjust and make work beautifully. I cannot recommend him enough and would love to work with him again in the future if the opportunity ever presented itself!
Maryland DJ’s were amazing! When I called I spoke to Jordan and gave him a run down of what we were looking for, he said “I got the perfect DJ for you guys!”. Jordan set us up with DJ Neil Feldman. We spoke with Neil multiple times leaving up to the wedding over video call. We gave him our style of music we like and some of our favorite songs. Dj Neil told us from the start that he does not just play a premade playlist that is created by the couple, but that he will take our music and the vibe of the wedding and create music on the spot to keep people dancing and the vibes up. Leading up to the wedding and on the wedding day, Dj Neil was very professional and attentive.
Dj Neil lived up to his hype and some. We dance the entire time. Even a week after our wedding we still have people telling us how much fun they had and how good the Dj was.
Neil and the rest of the team was AMAZING! We truly would not have changed a thing. Our guests stayed out on the dance floor all night long which is exactly what we wanted. We’ve had so many people tell us how awesome our DJ was and how great the music selections were. My husband and I had an absolute blast, we are so thankful to Neil and the team for making our night perfect. I’d give him an 11/10, he was very responsive through the entire planning process and delivered exactly what he said he would. He totally exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much to your team for being such an important part on our day!
Marylands DJs was great to work with from start to finish. I really enjoyed my consult call with Taylor who matched us up with our DJ Steve. Steve made the entire process super easy, seamless, & not stressful! He was a perfect match for us. We loved how chill he was. His personality is great & he is extremely knowledgable when it comes to music. Our wedding was a hit, our dance floor was packed & he navigated the requests he knew we would not like perfectly. First I talked with Jordan about what I had in mind for the dance floor vibes and he paired me with a perfect DJ! Brian had everyone on the dance floor all night. Perfect isn’t enough to describe the energy he brought. We are so grateful!!!
We had a great experience working with Maryland's DJ! Brian (our DJ) and Chris (on saxophone) were an absolute dream team. From the planning stages to the big day, they were professional, responsive, and easy to work with. On the day of the event, they nailed it- reading the vibe of the crowd flawlessly and delivering exactly the kind of music we envisioned. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the energy, the music, and especially Chris on sax- he stole the show!
Steve did a PHENOMENAL job!!! Right from the start, he did such a good job figuring out what vibe we were looking for and even provided his number for any last minute updates we would need. His playlist during dinner (which we had little input on besides acoustic modern songs) was amazing and people were coming up to us asking for his playlist 😂. Then, he captured exactly what we wanted in terms of songs on the dance floor and kept the energy extremely high which was SO important to me. I literally danced to every single song. We would give him a 10/10!!
Without a doubt, he’s the best DJ we ever got. He never hesitated one time even when we switch things up he just wait with it. Kept the party going all night was so nice and accommodating to all my guest. Brian is in must have for a DJ I can’t talk enough about him. He was great. Maryland's DJ was professional and reliable, and super responsive to emails. We worked with Alex who was awesome! It was super easy-we made a playlist on Spotify of the type of songs we wanted and he went with it. Our dance floor was so fun and was exactly what we had envisioned. Would definitely recommend them for a DJ!
Steve was the DJ at our wedding and was awesome! Through the whole process he was very communicative and responsive. On our actual wedding day, he did a great job at reading the crowd and playing music accordingly. We could not have asked for a better DJ. We had an absolutely fantastic time working with Maryland DJ! We got married this past weekend and had about 140 guests in attendance. We worked with DJ Neil, and he was an absolute professional throughout the day.
Our ceremony went on without a hitch, even with our family friend playing the keyboard at our outside ceremony space with support from Neil. He executed any announcements that we had flawlessly and made sure all of our guests knew exactly what was going on throughout the evening.
When it came to the dance floor, Neil knew exactly how to keep the party going. I am very particular about the music played on the dance floor, and Neil took my playlist and really made it into his own. I felt that all the songs that I wanted to hear were played, and Neil masterfully read the room and played songs that he knew would elevate it to the next level. The dance floor was completely full the entire time, it was truly a wonderful experience.
I would enthusiastically recommend Maryland DJ for your event, they really came through for us! Thanks again Neil!

From his responsiveness, to ensuring the sound quality of an outside ceremony, to making sure that the dance floor was always packed with guests of all ages, we couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. Maryland DJ was our wedding DJ and it was the best! Steve Hartka was friendly, professional, and had great communication throughout the whole planning process. The online platform was so easy to use and add our favorite songs along with our do not plays. At the reception, Steve kept the party going all night long. He read the room and knew just what to play to get everyone out on the dance floor! I would highly recommend anyone planning a wedding to hire a DJ from here!
Maryland’s DJ was INCREDIBLE. Before our event, there was really good communication from everyone on the team, including the automated reminder emails, personal emails, and our original intake. We really liked that we had so many options of DJs to choose from, too. We also really liked the portal and how we could sort through/choose songs in there. Neil, who actually worked our event, was the absolute best. He met with us several times to make sure things were just right. He matched our vibe and kept people on the dance floor throughout the night. The transitions between songs were awesome. He was a guiding presence to the guests and kept the spotlight on us. People said music was one of the best parts of our wedding. Can’t recommend Maryland’s DJ enough!

When my spouse and I were looking into wedding DJs, we were not sure what to expect. We were investing money into what we hoped would be a good time. The moment we met the folks at Maryland's DJ, we knew we had found the right place. They were friendly, attentive, and professional, matching us with the perfect DJ based on our preferences. As my spouse and I love early 2000s pop punk, we got matched with Steve Hartka.
Friends, Steve is the MAN. His enthusiasm for his job is infectious, and he took such care to get to know us as a couple. He was able to balance our preferences with curating the perfect party that felt like ours. He did not miss a beat, no lull, not even one. He started with party favorites to get everyone dancing, moving to dance hits to keep everyone dancing, ending with well-chosen rock. The songs blended well and felt like the work of a true professional.
Steve did such an amazing job that we had people complimenting us all night. By the end, nearly our entire wedding was praising Steve by name. Our evening was absolutely amazing, a large part due to Steve.

We cannot say enough great things about DJ Steve! From the moment we connected, he was incredibly friendly, professional, and easy to work with. He truly listened to our vision for the wedding and brought it to life with his amazing DJ skills.
Steve perfectly set the tone for every part of the evening. During the cocktail hour, he played timeless classics by Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald, creating an elegant and classic vibe. As dinner began, he transitioned seamlessly into some lively swing music, which added so much energy to the room. When it was time to party, Steve went through the decades, playing all the hits from the ‘80s, ‘90s, and 2000s. We sang and danced our hearts out to all of our favorites. He read the crowd perfectly, and the dance floor was packed all night long! Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how much fun they had and how sore they were from all the dancing, and we owe so much of that to Steve’s ability to keep the energy going all night. People only really took breaks to grab another drink.

Maryland's DJ ere amazing. It was very easy to communicate with them and they asked all the right questions to make our event a wonderful one. Our DJ Steve understood our vision immediately and was able to deliver to it flawlessly. They were very flexible and helped up think through a lot of details. The wedding was a success to Steve and his team. The portal to add songs is super helpful as well as the form to pin down the specifics of both the ceremony and the reception. Just want to start by saying thank you for how amazing the entire Maryland’s DJ has been. From our initial conversation to the wedding night, we’ve felt comfortable knowing you guys had us covered. With the hundred other wedding things we were managing, not worrying about the DJ situation was a massive plus. So a kudos to you for your professionalism and the help you showed us when we were still shopping around and trying to get a sense of things.
Most of the credit should go to Steve. What a legend. I’m not sure he even knew where Moldova was on a map before our wedding day but they’d give him a citizenship after the party he threw for us all. 10/10 service, will recommend Steve and you guys for any weddings our friends have.
We weren’t the most organized bunch, but he sat down with us and went through all the forms and song choices. We felt that we really aligned on our music preferences and he understood the wedding vibe we were going for. We also had a few traditions we needed to do and he helped us through it all! The party was so great we even made arrangements with him to stay later.

Working with Maryland's DJ was great from Day 1. From the initial contact and discussions with Taylor and Steve about the vision for our night, we knew that we were in good hands. We had some issues with USPS and check delivery/cashing, but they quickly worked out a solution with us as soon as issues were discovered. Even with a diverse music taste and a wide age range, Steve kept the dance floor hopping from start to finish. He was even able to adjust on the fly to my wedding party's last-minute entrance changes. Our guests RAVED about the music and I can't recommend Steve and the team enough for any occasion. Thank you for making our special day so amazing.
We got married on 10/12 and Brian was easy to work with, consultative when necessary, and a great time at our wedding. He made our experience stress free and our group had a great time. Highly recommend!
We had an amazing experience with Maryland's DJ! John and Laz did a great job of keeping the momentum going and the party didn't lose energy once which was important to us. We have gotten SO many compliments from guests about the DJing, everyone loved them and had a fantastic time. We also were so pleased with the photo booth (which we initially considered not getting), our guests really loved it and the photos were very high-quality -- as the bride I actually wish I took more!

It was a very organized process and I felt super cared for from the start! We were lucky enough to have Harvey as our DJ and he exceeded all of our expectations!! There was clear communication within the days leading up and then the actual wedding was a dream! The music was awesome and Maryland’s DJ and Harvey were incredible to work with! I would highly recommend them to anyone!!

The wedding was AMAZING! Brian did a phenomenal job picking songs off the must play list that kept people dancing. We got great feedback on the song choices and he clearly listened to us when we were discussing volume/ the Horah. Tyler and I were worried about music too loud; Brian did a wonderful job with that. On the dance floor, we could hear everything fine and by the tables we could talk at a good level! Moreover, for the Horah we asked for the moms/ dads to be lifted together and he did that, too. No complaints! During the ceremony and introductions he played all the correct songs, too! :D
In conclusion, we were thrilled with the services and glad I asked my friend for her DJ company from her wedding in September of 2023. We will be recommending y'all!
Absolute 10/10. Taylor was so helpful from the beginning to help coordinate our big day and introduce us to Neil, then Neil was an absolute rockstar throughout the entire day. He listened to all of our requests (separate speakers inside, ways of cutting certain songs, bringing extra mics, etc.), offered fun ideas like walk-up songs leading into toasts, and made sure the people were having a blast all night long. We received so many compliments on our DJ throughout the event and the following day.

We'd absolutely recommend the team at Maryland's DJ. Steve, our DJ, took the time to meet with us to understand the vibe we were going for at our wedding and knew exactly how to keep people dancing all night. The team was easy to work with, responsive, and highly professional.
We had an amazing time and Steve was an incredible DJ. We had a good feeling about him from our very first meeting, but he really pulled it all together for a great event. We know he was supposed to have some help, which unfortunately fell through, but we honestly had no idea until after the party. Steve went above and beyond and made it a very special event. He made us the center of attention, he had a perfect playlist, and mixed in our requests as well. We honestly can’t think of anything that didn’t go perfectly with Steve.
On a scale of 1-10, Steve was a true 11. Throughout the entire process he was communicative, attentive, and understood our vision.

Brian crushed it 10/10. Based upon the songs we listed, he did a great job curating music for the evening that got people on the dance floor. He was great and one of the team members got an awesome video that was emailed to us after the wedding, which was so kind and I'm so glad we have that memory to relive!! Definitely recommend.

Maryland’s DJ was the absolute best! They were extremely responsive, personable, and easy to work with. Taylor was extremely on top of things and very responsive. Brian our DJ truly listened and made our party flow and really banged out some tunes! Exactly what we had wanted! He kept our reception moving after getting behind due to a transportation issue which delayed the wedding. He was able to readjust and make sure the essentials happened, and happened well! It was the best dance party! Our only regret was that we didn’t get to experience it longer due to the timeline delay! But thank you Brian and Maryland’s DJ for helping make our wedding extremely memorable and the most special day! We would definitely recommend you!
We would rate their service a 10- best money we spent on our wedding! our DJ Laz worked the room and kept everyone hyped and engaged throughout our wedding! We were pleasantly surprised by his personalized entertainment and ability to exceed our wishes!

Multiple guests talked about how fun the DJ was (Laz), the lighting was PERFECT for both the ceremony and the dance party, and the Photo Booth was a big hit.
Our DJ, Brian, was incredible! He was very receptive to our wishes on our wedding day and made sure everything flowed perfectly. He excelled at making sure there was always open communication about what he needed from us and tailoring the song choices to our needs. He was able to read the room to help keep the energy up and make sure everyone was singing and dancing their hearts out on our wedding dance floor!
The only issue we had with Maryland's DJ was that the backdrop we chose for our photo booth is not the one that arrived on our wedding day. In the grand scheme of things, this was not the worst thing that could have happened.
All in all, we are very pleased with Maryland's DJ and a huge THANK YOU to Brian for keeping a packed dance floor and making our wedding day perfect!
Maryland’s DJ was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. Taylor was very helpful when booking and planning. Neil and his day of crew were also great. We spoke to Neil a few times leading up to our wedding day and he really got a good picture of what we wanted to hear all through the day and he delivered. We had the most amazing wedding/ dance party that we have ever been to! So many of our guests told us they haven’t danced so long and enjoyed themselves as much as they did at our wedding! The Photo Booth also went so well and we loved getting all the mini videos and pictures from that a few days later. We can’t recommend Maryland’s DJ enough!!!!
Our DJ (Thiery Banks) was outstanding. Every communication we had leading up to the wedding was professional but also personal. He was flexible about which portions of the wedding we defined completely and which portions he would run autonomously based on our tastes (collected through our phone conversations and the songs we submitted as must-play or by request). He kept people engaged and having fun all night! If you can book Thiery, absolutely do so!!
By contrast, our dealings with Jordan Solander (owner of Maryland’s DJ) were terrible. He did not show up for scheduled calls, forgot all about us, and was generally unpleasant to work with. But that’s nothing compared to the scammy way our contract was handled. In January, Jordan sent us a contract with a total cost of $3200. We signed the contract and were required to pay 50% upfront, so we immediately sent a check for $1600. The remainder was due 30 days before the wedding, so we again paid $1600 on that date. Several days later, Jordan emailed and said we hadn’t paid our full bill and that we owed $1200. We replied with our contract, showing an agreed price of $3200 and evidence of two payments totaling $3200. Jordan wrote back and claimed that he’d made a mistake in the contract and that it should have been $1200 higher in order to get the Photo Booth option we’d discussed and which was promised in our contract. We asked him to uphold his end of the signed contract, and he refused. In further discussions, he mentioned that he’d had this problem multiple times with other clients.
If he’d contacted us immediately in January and said, “This payment is not 50% of the total,” we would have had time to consider whether we would accept a contract at $4400. Because Jordan waited until just a few weeks before our wedding, we had no choice but to keep our contract for the DJ but get a photo booth from another vendor.
Since he admitted that he’s done this multiple times, Jordan is either negligent in addressing a known issue or scamming people for more money by springing additional charges on them when the wedding is imminent. The latter seems far more likely to me, given Jordan’s overall demeanor and lack of professionalism.
I would absolutely hire Thiery Banks again as a DJ, but only if I could book him directly or through another company. I would never do business again with Jordan Solander.
Neil was amazing. I asked him to play TJ Oshie’s goal song before I walked down the aisle (we are HUGE Caps fans) and he did it. He kept the everyone dancing all party and was so easy to work with! I would go back to this company in a heartbeat!
We hired Maryland's DJ for our wedding and I cannot recommend them enough! For those of you who like more control over the type of music played, Maryland's DJ's portal has an excellent layout in which you could list your favorite songs to suit any mood, or different phases of the night, and the DJ we got, Mike Q, did an absolutely excellent job mixing it all together! Guests constantly commented on how good the DJ was. Thanks Maryland's DJ!
