Had a beautiful wedding day here, however there were Pros and there was Cons
We'll start with the Pros - this is a BEAUTIFUL venue, the grounds are gorgeous as well as the building. Tammie and Becca are wonderful people and I just loved their families story about all the venues and the history. They did an absolute fantastic job on the floral arrangements, they were able to capture my vision completely. Dessert is a PRO as well, the peach cobbler had many compliments and where they got the donuts from got Rave reviews from all my guests.
Onto the Cons:
Wedding Planner - she was always missing, anytime we needed her we needed to ask someone where she was and wait for her to show up (the venue had another party that night across the street not sure if she was working both but that would explain why she was hard to find)
Food - was served cold, bacon around asparagus not cooked thoroughly
Service - the crew to bus the tables were not quick to come out and clear plates from tables, which left people who were not dancing to talk over half eaten food (this is one of things we had find the planner to get the plates cleared)
Fireplace - we asked that the outside fireplace be lit - we had to find someone to get this done but instead of lighting it they left the matches in front of it and we had to light it
Morning of - Food was promptly set up for us while getting ready but outside brides room, nothing brought upstairs for the groomsmen, so if they wanted anything they had to make trips down, which us not wanting a first look we had to make sure there were no accidental encounters.
Mimosa and drinks for men took awhile to get brought in as well
Bar - bartender seem to be not knowledgable about making drinks (didn't know a simple vodka/tonic its two ingredients) were told by some guests he was rude as well
I'm not going to sugar coat things, we had an unruly guest, which I was hoping to be able to rectify by removing said guest but instead police were called and bar was shut down and wrong guest was pinpointed as the culprit. This caused may of the guests to leave early thinking the whole venue was being shut down. I wish things could've been handled differently, a lot of this I blame the officers that came and not the venue. We still had a wonderful night with our DJ and Photo Booth from Platinum entertainment, totally recommend then as well as Vicki from B Short Photography.
We had a great wedding at Mathew’s Manor. They are more than just a venue, they also help you plan the wedding, cater, and, and floral. Planning the wedding through then went great, and they helped get all the details we were looking to include. I will say I wish we would have had a few more meetings with the day of director just so we could have had the schedule go a little more smoothly, but overall still a fantastic experience.
Awesome group to work with. They were so helpful along the planning process. We loved the feel of Micah’s Meadow barn area and the indoor/outdoor environment.
Any questions?
Mathew’s Manor made our day perfect. They are extremely easy to work with, flexible, talented, and friendly. Everything was thought of….everything was beautiful….everything was perfect. We even encountered some rain and they still delivered a perfect day for our family. You could not go wrong using this venue for a special occasion. 5 stars all the way around. - Mother-of-the-Bride.
We are very happy that we chose Mathew’s Manor for our wedding. It was a beautiful place and exactly what we envisioned aesthetically. Everyone we worked with was very nice and helpful and worked hard to make sure everything was the way we wanted it. They are very helpful to work within your budget and make sure your vision comes to life. Food was delicious, flowers were gorgeous, nothing I would change. It made it very helpful to have all the flowers, food, decorations, and planning in one place so you only have to coordinate with one person and everyone knows your vision. It was a fun process and we felt like family by the end.
Man, working with these sweet people was a DREAM. They all made everything so easy! I didn't worry about a thing. They also listened to every single detail I wanted and followed through. My wedding day was exactly how I dreamed it would look. Brittany, Tammy, Sandy, everyone - thank you all so much for your patience, knowledge, and kindness.
I had my ceremony and reception at Mathews Manor and I don't think there is a better venue in the Birmingham area. The team at Mathews does just about everything for you (planning, food, flowers, and cake). They were the least stressful part of the wedding planning process. Brittany was our wedding planner, Tammy was the florist, and our day of coordinator was Francis. These ladies are ROCKSTARS!! I met monthly with Brittany and/or Tammy and on the day of seeing my vision come into fruition was the most amazing thing. They all did SUCH an amazing job!! Everyone has told me how beautiful the flowers and decorations were. Oh and the food was DELICIOUS! We were also Francis' first wedding as the lead coordinator and if she had not told me that I would have NEVER known! She did such a stellar job keeping everyone on track and ensuring that we weren't forgetting anything. She even had an issue with her car that caused her to call a tow truck and she was more concerned about our wedding going smoothly!!! We were both so impressed with the team at Mathews Manor and cannot say enough great things about them! If you book them for your wedding day you will absolutely NOT regret it!!! They will take care of you!! If I could rate this company more than 5 stars, I would!
Everyone at Mathews Manor was amazing to work with! They made sure that everything was taken care of, from the decor we were bringing to all the weather issues we had on the day of the wedding. I can not recommend them enough!!
Absolutely THE best staff to work with. It really helps that they provide the catering, florist, and the staff the set up and tear down. The food is amazing too!
Everyone at Mathews Manor went above and beyond for us. From using old family recipes for our cakes to last minute ceremony location change due to weather, they were absolutely incredible every step of the way.
Mathews Manor was absolutely beautiful. They have a great staff who helped us plan the big day, and were very quick to answer questions. We went with Rebecca’s Garden, which is a gazebo and outdoor venue. The archway for the gazebo was done by the venue and was breathtakingly gorgeous! They would be receiving 5 stars if it weren’t for the sound system having issues during my ceremony. We also felt like the rehearsal could’ve gone more smoothly to better prepare us for the big day. These things aside, it was absolutely a dream.
Everything looked beautiful! Our only wish is that we could have used an app ursine cateror. The food was presented awesome and there was plenty for everyone but the the quality just isn’t there (especially considering they charge as much as any catering company). But everything else was above and beyond. The venue was even more beautiful than we hoped and the flowers were phenomenal.
Absolutely amazing. The crew at Mathews Manor is wonderful. Tammy, Traci, and Brittany were all so helpful and accommodating. They made our wedding so much better than I could have pictured.
Best wedding ceremony site and people to work with. My wedding day was a dream and went off without a hitch. Tammy decorated everything so beautifully and Carolyn my director was fabulous and worked so hard to make my day perfect! I highly recommend Mathews Manor.
This venue was the absolute perfect pick for us. Both our director and planner were absolutely wonderful and so kind. We will not be forgetting the wonderful day they made happen any time soon!
AMAZING customer service! Incredible people. They went above and beyond to make our big day perfect! We would recommend them to anyone.
Our daughter was married in Rebecca Gardens April 25, 2015. Everything was beautiful; everyone was so helpful and nice. The food was amazing! The flowers were so pretty. The rehearsal dinner was also at Mathews Manor. Again, the food was delicious and the staff was great! I'm so glad the good Lord led us to Mathews Manor. Our experience was better than we ever dreamed it would be. I highly recommend Mathews Manor. Shout out to Sydney(coordinator) & Jill(director). You guys are blessings to be around!!
We held our ceremony and reception in Grace Hall at Mathew's Manor. The ceremony was outside and was beautiful with the natural landscape and flowers that the wonderful staff provided. The reception was exceptional from the food to the hospitality. Mathew's Manor took care of all of our wedding needs. Stephanie, our wedding coordinator, was hands down the BEST! Ashley, our wedding director, listened to each of us and our important aspects of the day. Our guests continue to rave to this day about the food and cake. We could not have asked for a more perfect day!
I chose this location after my brother had his wedding there. Stephanie and Carol were fantastic! The location is gorgeous and they were so accommodating. And the price is one of the best around!
I chose MM because I fell in love with the beauty of Grace Hall. However they do not allow ANY outside caterers, bakers etc and I was disappointed with the quality of the food and my cakes.
Stephanie was awesome! She helped me with everything. She was always there when I needed something. The place itself is gorgeous. My wedding was indoors with the reception to follow in the same place. The transition went smoothly/perfectly. They had lemonade outside under an awning while the inside was changing into the reception area. I have not heard any complaints! I would recommend this place!
Mathews Manor was SO great to work with. We got married after only planning for 3 months and they were so accommodating and got the ball rolling for us immediately! They help you all along the way and answer ANY questions. They were great for our fast planning because they do the cake, food AND flowers! And all of it was better than we could have even gone out and hired on our own. They have a wedding day coordinator that takes care of EVERYTHING the day of. I literally had to take care of nothing - she made sure everyone knew not to bother the bride and groom and she answered everyone's questions and took care of the rest of our venders too. Our wedding turned out exactly how we wanted it - romantic & fun. The great thing about MM is that you can have a black tie wedding or a backyard wedding. We personally used Micah's Meadow for the ceremony and Rebecca's Garden for the reception. They have multiple options for you to use for your special day. Overall I would recommend this to any and everyone planning to get married!
Mathews Manor was wonderful! Everyone there was so nice and helpful. They made planning the wedding go very smoothly and made the wedding day stress free.
Mathews Manor is beautiful and has several locations for a wedding, indoor and outdoor. They do just about everything, from the flowers, the food, cakes, decor, etc. Tammy (the coordinator) made sure that everything ran smoothly so I didn't have to worry about a thing. I would definitely recommend it!
Will go above and beyond to make sure that you have everything you want. The decorating, cakes, food, everything is spectacular and you couldn't ask for nicer people to work with.
Mathews Manor is a wonderful venue. Beautiful!! Staff is very helpful and makes everyting stress free. Food is great.
