As a British expat, I came to the us to play soccer in college where I met my husband, and the rest as they say, is history! I live in Birmingham Alabama with my husband Luigi and Pup Bentley!
Photography has been a passion throughout my life, and documenting the craziness of my own life has been so fun to look back over years. We cannot recommend Ellie enough! From the moment we met her, we knew she was the right photographer for our wedding. She made everyone feel so comfortable and at ease on the big day, which is such a gift when you're in front of the camera. Ellie really listened to our requests and was able to capture every moment exactly how we envisioned, while also bringing her own creative touch to the photos.
Her style was a perfect match for our fall wedding – cool, romantic, and timeless. The colors and lighting in the photos are just gorgeous, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Every shot is a work of art!

Ellie was a phenomenal photographer- she sent us our "sneak peak" back with 100s of photos! And when we got to full gallery, I was just so overwhelmed with joy that she was able to capture so many beautiful moments throughout the day.
Ellie is kind, hard-working, and does a great job at posing you and helping you feel comfortable throughout the day! I could not be happier with the photos we received. Definitely consider her :)

Ellie was the most amazing photographer for our big day. She had to work around a huge wedding party, the rain, and was so flexible with all the last minute changes. She also catered to me and knew which angles I preferred, and knew exactly the vibe I was going for. Besides her talent, she was incredibly kind, always smiling, and was just so easy to work with. I feel so lucky knowing she captured my wedding day!

Ellie is genuinely one of the kindest people that I have ever met! She was so easy to work with and made all of our interactions fun and exciting. From our very first phone call all the way to getting our gallery back, Ellie communicated clearly and quickly and was always willing to answer questions. I don't think I would have survived the wedding day without her hype and encouragement! My husband and I both agree that we cannot pick our favorite photo because they are all just THAT good. If you are looking for a photographer, I 100% recommend using McKenzie Studios for whatever the occasion may be!!

Ellie was absolutely everything I was looking for in a photographer for my wedding. From the very first phone call she was super sweet, very accommodating, and overall wonderful to work with. She put my mind at ease by being organized and quick to follow up whenever I had questions or concerns. Our engagement and wedding photos came out so beautifully and I am IN LOVE!!! Having Ellie as our photographer was one of our best choices for our wedding! She was so incredibly kind and paid attention to every detail. She was invested in her work but also in us as a couple. It felt like we had an extra friend hanging out with us all day really paying attention to all the moments most important to us. She got the preview photos to us in less than a week and they are absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone in this area looking for someone!

Ellie was amazing and captured the most beautiful photos!
We were looking for a wedding photographer that could capture elegant photos because we were getting married in a gorgeous Chapel. We didn’t like overly saturated photos and came across McKenzie Studios. We loved her wedding catalogs and after a phone call decided she would be a great fit!
We did an engagement shoot with her and instantly felt comfortable. We adored the engagement shoot photos and had so many to choose from. Ellie goes out of her way to make sure she gets all the shots!
We also had her shoot our wedding photos and they turned out so elegant! We were both blown away by the shots she was able to get. She was also so great dealing with difficult family members as we admittedly have a couple. You can’t go wrong with hiring McKenzie Studios and we are so grateful to her for capturing our special day! You can’t go wrong with Ellie!

Ellie is seriously the best photographer out there! She took our engagement photos and wedding photos. When we told her we wanted our engagement photos in a coffee shop/record store she was immediately down and took our idea and made it 10x better than we could’ve imagined! Ellie is so professional, personal to her couples, and makes sure her couples are enjoying their time will taking pictures. Her and her second shooter made our wedding photos feel fun and not staged and made our wedding day so much more enjoyable! Our wedding photos look straight out of a movie and she completely exceeded our expectations! We would recommend Ellie to anyone and everyone! Can’t wait to have her take more pictures for us in the future!!!

Ellie was an absolute joy to work with! Her professionalism is unmatched. Her prices are incredibly reasonable. Her personality and humor is top notch. She helped to make what could have been a stressful part of the day fun.
My now-husband is incredibly shy behind the camera, but she made us both feel so comfortable and at ease. The wedding party loved her and we received multiple compliments (from family, guests, and other vendors) throughout the wedding (and afterwards) about how wonderful it was to work with her.
Ellie has such a beautiful and artistic moody style that was exactly what I was looking for. The pictures are breathtaking. I cannot recommend McKenzie Studios enough!

Ellie is the best photographer I’ve ever worked with. We hired her as our wedding photographer and couldn’t have worked with someone better! Her demeanor is so relaxed and encouraging while she captures magical, moody shots. Ellie captured portraits, candids, and interestingly framed special moments (like a shot through the trees of us saying our vows!). Her pricing is reasonable, communication is top tier, and style is perfect for the big day! We’re so grateful to you and highly recommend!

To say that McKenzie and her secondary photographer did a great job would be an absolute understatement. On top of the high professionalism, they made sure to adjust poses, messy hair, and other things to make the end result top tier. These 2 are who you want on your team when trying to accomplish the beast that is a wedding. Cannot recommend McKenzie enough. +10 points for the complementary engagement shoot.

Ellie from the beginning was so easy to communicate with. Even navigating a country we were not familiar with she took the time to write up maps on where to meet her. Ellie made us feel comfortable and made the photo shoot a fun part of our vacation. Our engagement photos turned out so beautiful and captured memories we will look back on for many years to come. I can't say enough about Ellie and her gorgeous pictures. From the very first phone call until the final photos were delivered she was so helpful, nice, and professional. By the time the wedding was over and all the guests had left I felt like Ellie was "one of the family." She and her assistant made all of us feel at ease and the pictures showcase her ability to capture all the "little" moments that meant so much to us. I would recommend McKenzie Studios over and over again.

To say Ellie is amazing would be an understatement. My now fiancé worked with Ellie to plan a “photoshoot” for a surprise proposal. I had mentioned that I wanted our photos to not look “autumn-y” which was a big ask considering it was beginning of November. Somehow she made it happen and our photos came out exactly how I wanted. As for the additional work she put in to the proposal prep, she went above and beyond helping my fiancé set up the picnic and overall story line to get me to the point of the proposal without any idea of what was to come. She is just such a genuine person and I would recommend her to ANYONE looking for a photographer in the Birmingham area!
