Surrounded by the beauty of Alleghany County and nestled amongst the mountains, Mennefer exists in its own bubble. The sprawling 18-acre estate is full of rustic charm and romance. The grand four-story home was built in 1875 by the Low Moor Iron Company and used as a lodge for traveling executives. Mennefer has undergone an extensive renovation that aims to preserve its history while adding modern amenities and facilities. It is a beautiful space for weddings, events, and various other celebrations.
Mennefer offers two breathtaking and lavish spaces for wedding celebrations. The Mansion dining space can accommodate 20 seated guests and can be found on the home's main floor. This area also boasts a beautiful entryway and piano parlor, perfect for mingling before dinner. Their beautiful Ballroom can host up to 200 guests, making it a perfect space for a grand celebration. The Ballroom has a private get-ready suite, a commercial catering kitchen, and overlooks the greenhouse. Vows can also be exchanged in the lush garden spaces, a picturesque and romantic backdrop. Mennefer also offers wedding planning and event design services, taking the pressure off your shoulders and ensuring a seamless wedding day.

Originally tech professionals based out of Florida we stopped into Clifton Forge on our way to Snowshoe Mountain and immediately fell in love and relocated to the area. Since then we have been investing in helping to rebuild the area's homes. Having remodeled over 10 homes in the area MenNefer was our greatest challenge and reward. The estate was in disrepair when we started bringing it back to original glory. The more we discovered about its history, the more we fell in love. We are so blessed to be stewards to this Alleghany County gem.

So thankful we decided to go with Mennefer for our daughter’s wedding. The owners went over and beyond to help my daughter’s Vision come true. Kimberly and John have a true dedication to their property and their passion for creating something...
beautiful. We used the garden for cocktail hour and the ballroom for the reception. There is many options on the ground for unique photographs; including a miniature highland cow. We had guest travel 3-4 hours without a problem. The scenic drive there is also a highlight. Overall can’t say enough good things about the people, the professionalism, and amenities. People are still talking about it!

The outdoor ceremony space is absolutely stunning! The large oak trees on the property provided the perfect setting...
for our vows. We had approximately 125 guests for our garden ceremony. The guests loved the horse drawn carriages. Cocktail hour was lovely, a string quartet played and the guests had the chance to roam the estate.
This elegant wedding venue is a true gem. Its breathtaking beauty, exceptional service, and unforgettable ambiance make it the ideal place to begin a lifetime of memories. We are beyond grateful for the magical experience they provided and wholeheartedly recommend it to any couple seeking a wedding venue that is nothing short of perfection.
