NO STARS IF POSSIBLE...
This pertains to the Bay Shore, NY location only as I cannot comment on the others.
We have probably the worst menswear experience I have heard of thus far.
My husband was fitted for a tuxedo about a month or so before our wedding. It came in about a week later but the shirt, vest, and jacket did not fit and it came in with the wrong color shoes. He was remeasured and a new order put in (supposedly). We went back a week later when they said it would be in but it wasn't...because the order was never placed.
So my husband was told it would be in the next week, the DAY BEFORE the wedding. Now, this was a specialty suit so he didn't even know how it would look on him yet.
He took a half a day off of work before the wedding to be there when the truck came in and of course, the suit wasn't on it. So, they gave him a piecemeal suit with a jacket that didn't properly fit and shoes that were too small and said they would FedEx it overnight and he could pick it up at 10:00 AM the next day, THE DAY OF OUR WEDDING!
Of course, he had a few choice words about that considering how many mistakes they had made, how many needless times he had been there, and the little fact that he would be with our photographer and videographer getting ready the time they wanted him to pick up the suit.
So, we had to run all over to buy another suit from top to bottom in case they never got it in when we should have been getting ready for the next day instead. Luckily, they did get it in and delivered it to his house so that some of the pictures of him at the house have him wearing the tux but the whole thing was an utter disaster. They redeemed themselves in the end but this all could have been avoided. We will NEVER use Men's Wearhouse again.
My husband got his tux as well as all of the groomsmen suits from men's wear house. Everyone in he bridal party lives in different parts of the country so this was the most convenient option. They rented their suits and picked them up a couple of days before the wedding. My husbands tuxedo was too big and they solved the issue before the wedding by getting him a smaller size. Overall process was easy.
My husband got his 3 piece suit from here, for a good price. They did the alterations needed very fast.
I would like to start off with their customer service is terrible. There are 2 managers that are always conflicting. One says one thing and the other says another. I had the advantage of the buy one get one free and the 3rd 50% off deal. It was not worth trying to save a penny. I had a total of 6 groomsmen and what I thought would be simple turned into a nightmare. The sales rep was unorganized and I had to constantly tell him over and over my information whenever my guys had to go and get measured and pick up.
The tailoring service was also horrible. Some of my guys had to go to a second tailor to get there pants readjusted.
Overall I do not recommend this men's wear house location at ALL!
My husband and I tried several different Men’s Wearhouse locations before choosing this one.
While the suits were nice and tailored to perfection, they need to re-evaluate their sales tactics.
The salespeople were quite pushy in trying to get the groom, his father, and groomsmen to buy extras such as shoes, ties, pocket squares, cufflinks and even plain white shirts that were very overpriced. Identical white shirts could be purchased elsewhere at a far better value. Even the best man became quite flustered with how he was being pressured into buying unneeded extras. He had to be very clear and emphatic to say NO.
I was very surprised that these salespeople were so pushy as I never experienced anything like it, even when shopping for my own wedding dress. It sounded kind of desperate and was very unappealing.
Additionally, there was a miscommunication that resulted in the suits being a different color than we expected. Be warned that the MW website has photos that are NOT true to color. Because they didn’t have that particular color on hand, the actual result was much lighter than expected.
If you are just looking for the most convenient option, come to MW. If you have a little more time, keep looking.
My Husband had a great experience when renting his tux for the wedding. They were very helpful and understanding of his constant mind changing.
The service was good in the beginning, once my party and i went to pick up our suits. The grooms tux was not ready. They said it had not gotten to them and it was still in delivery the day before wedding . They accommodated me with a free suit but i had to go back and forth for alterations. Overall it was ok. The suit i was given fit me perfect.
You can't beat them for selection. The location is convenient. Everything was fine.
Good costumer service
They messed up my order, and I had to go back the next day, but everything worked out! Overall good service, I would definitely use them again.
