r initially via the Knot website. She quickly responded and we set up a time to meet during my next upcoming visit to Nola. I loved her from jump, however, she still needed to meet the other half of this dynamic duo for final approval. Michelle let us know that she was visiting NYC, where she had an opportunity to meet Jessica and the rest is history! Michelle is the very BEST, there was no one better suited who could have helped plan and execute our wedding day under such severe circumstances! As a queer couple, we didn't have much familial support, and Michelle understood this and showed up for us day-in and day-out. From numerous calls, texts, and endless laughs Michelle became part of the planning, she became our family. Michelle is honest, fun, very detail-oriented, dedicated, and just an overall amazing human! She took our original fun-filled, romantic getaway weekend plans and added classic flare and beautiful touches, and turned our wedding day into a magazine-worthy dream! ebsite and I was sold. I went to her Instagram and read the news of her brother's passing and saw how open and transparent she was about her personal life. I love honest and real individuals and that was Michelle. Someone I definitely wanted to work with. During our first call, we didn’t event talk about my wedding. We chatted away and got to know each other on a personal level. It was like I was speaking to a friend I hadn’t spoken to in years. Now back to the wedding. What I wanted was an experience and adventure for our two families who come from very different backgrounds. I am hispanic and my husband is a native New Orleanian. My husband and I love the outdoors, adventures and love to travel. So, all of these details had to be considered and integrated into the planning. From the Save the Date’s Michelle nailed it! It was subtle but it was if you know us you immediately got it. And if you didn’t it was simply beautiful. Guests thought our Save the Dates were the invitations! This attention to detail carried over to every aspect of our wedding. Michelle's creativity was beyond what I had imagined. She would share an idea and it was like magic. Our super intimate, private estate, Covid wedding of 25 at my parents home went off without a hitch. If it weren’t for Michelle and her team I don’t know what I would have done. A huge weight was lifted off my shoulders and she went above and beyond anything I would have ever dreamed of. She is expensive, however, worth every penny and some. I have no regrets and would pay double for the piece of mind and calm spirit that she is able to bring during such a beautiful but also stressful time. To go above and beyond does not even come close to describe how amazing Michelle is. We were simply over the moon when we discovered she had organized an all day romantic kayaking adventure for two in Aialik Bay! Kayaking near immense glaciers surrounded by bergy bits and growlers (small chunks of floating ice) was an adventure my husband and I will never forget! Her opinions are strong and her designs are beautiful. Just trust her and let her work her magic, you will not be disappointed. Shelby and Michelle we love you both so much. You are now a part of the family. Thank you for making our Alaska wedding dream a reality.

on wedding during a pandemic is a nightmare, but Michelle was with us every step of the way as we had to pivot from our “dream” wedding. Since Michelle is so well-connected and knowledgeable about the wedding industry in New Orleans, the transition was very smooth. Our wedding day was magical and truly a DREAM come true despite the changes we made due to the pandemic. This is all because of Michelle. Her execution was flawless and still amazes me almost a year later. When our caterer walked out 3 weeks before the big day, Michelle handled the situation with power and poise. She was able to recover our deposit and find us a phenomenal caterer with 3 weeks notice. I truly cannot speak more highly of our experience with Michelle. We feel like we gained more than just a wedding planner, but also a friend.

Every little detail was thought of, and none of that was me, it was all Michelle. She is the most genuine and hardworking person that I have ever met. We are a couple based in London, who were adamant about having our wedding in New Orleans, after visiting once and Michelle made everything seamless and enjoyable! We didn't have any other contacts in New Orleans, so Michelle was our point of contact between every single vendor. We had specific requirements including wanting Southern BBQ food, daiquiris, and a courtyard wedding. We trusted Michelle and her team with every single detail. She went above and beyond for me as the bride, including booking and attending my hair and makeup trial. Having never met Michelle before we booked her, we now consider her a friend and would never hesitate to recommend her to anyone. We have told our recently engaged friends to consider using Michelle, as she is International. told her we needed a regale, multi tier cake with feathers? She found us the perfect cake shop. When we decided we needed Darth Vader and Two Stormtroopers to show up. She found and coordinated Darth and his Stormtroopers. It was a May 4th wedding. When we decided we needed Burlesque dancers? She made sure they showed up and showed out. And when we got shut down for a noise complaint, Michelle got the party rolling again. But there are so many other things. She is just a wonderful person who genuinely cares. My husband and I were able to focus on each other and not the nonsense. My guests were taken care of from start to finish. She will let you know when it’s time to worry and when everything is going to be fine. I have to say I was sad that after the wedding we wouldn’t be working together any longer. She’s just that good.

I was stressed with wedding planning and she came at the exact right time with the level of support I needed. Michelle played not only the coordinator role, but that of a close friend! First, Michelle goes above and beyond planning services: she treats her clients and their guests like gold. This a testament to her loving her job (to the point she even drove us to the airport afterward and we hugged goodbye)! She handles this intense job and everyone’s emotions with a calm, collected and fun demeanor. We had an intimate wedding, and having someone who could fit into the wedding events with such warm energy and a sense of humor was super important to us. Our guests raved about Michelle–my brother's girlfriend even asked if she traveled to do their future wedding! Second, Michelle has that ultimate inside perspective in the industry. You TRUST her advice, a super important intangible in a planner. She has a superb group of vendor contacts, which alone is worth thousands of dollars and will save your much-needed energy. Michelle was responsible for half of our vendors (we hired the other half before we met her). Pre-Michelle, I spent a lot of time second guessing decisions. When you are spending this kind of money, the feeling of hiring the right team is PRICELESS. Third, Michelle is a super savvy problem solver. My husband and I reached out to her in a pinch many times and she was able to help us quickly problem solve. She’s really responsive (under 24 hours) and makes herself available no matter the level of service! She advised us on table decor and space set up, rehearsal dinner and after-party location, etc. We had two near disasters the week of: rain – we dodged that bullet, but Michelle liaised with a tent vendor on our behalf; and marriage license – we forgot our vitals documents, and Michelle smoothed it over and sat with us most of the day to rectify it. Fourth, execution on the day of was exceptionally smooth – her staff treated our guests with superior quality and executed the logistics with perfection, including “flipping” the venue between the ceremony and reception. All of this was done on schedule and intuitively–we wanted someone who could be flexible to changes and go with the event vibe. Her team was also well-synchronized with our caterer and photographer, the trio you want to work together. Finally, Michelle’s prices are very reasonable. We only hired her for month-of services (not full-time planning), and yet she did so much! She allows you to send packages if you are a destination couple, holds regular phone calls, and responds to many emails in between. If I were to redo anything, I would hire her as my full-time planner. But if budget doesn’t allow, I would recommend her month-of services and NO LESS. She kicks in a lot of the coordination in the month prior to the wedding, which is when you need it the most. HIRE MICHELLE ASAP, she is a A+ leader in the industry! She will make your heart light up on your wedding day and your eyes tear up like mine when you write your review!

I can honestly say at the end of our planning process, Michelle feels much more like a friend than a planner. We have grown to care so much for her, and couldn't have been gifted a better experience. They looked at several venues, and fell in love with the Melrose Mansion, which became the beautiful backdrop for an amazing weekend! After their original trip, I returned to New Orleans to spend a several days with Michelle locking down more of our details. She has an array of amazing vendors she works with that we were able to meet with to start filling the pieces together to bring my daughter and son in law’s vision to life! On our planning trip, we stayed at the Melrose Mansion prior to the wedding to get a feel for the venue which we took over for the weekend. I worked with McKensie Kirchner, who oversees all the events at the French Quarter Hotel Collection. She did a great job orchestrating all our needs that weekend at the Melrose Mansion and also aided our additional guests staying outside the venue. The staff at the Melrose Mansion, including Brian and Courtney were wonderful helping us and our guests throughout the weekend with anything we needed, making everyone feel at home. Next to finding the perfect venue, it was important to choose a Caterer who could give us all a taste of New Orleans, but also deliver a fresh and delicious menu with a beautiful presentation. Reese, proud owner of Little Bushel exceeded our expectations! She was wonderful to work with and it is obvious that the details matter to her as much as they did to us, and did not go unnoticed by us or our guests. Aspen Hardaway, owner of Event Staffing, helped us find the perfect staffing for our bar and to help our caterer with the meal. He has chosen wonderful individuals to work for him, which is no surprise, because he is such a warm and wonderful man himself. I found a new BFF in NOLA! I would also like to thank Mika at YUR Event rentals who patiently assisted me in an ever-changing order over the months prior to our wedding. I cannot thank Michelle Norwood enough for keeping us on schedule and helping fill in the details leading us to the right people to make our wedding weekend so perfect. Not only was she there in the planning, but led us through the night of the rehearsal prior to the wedding, and was there all day for the wedding to make sure everything ran smoothly from beginning to end! As mother of the bride, I was truly able to relax and enjoy this beautiful day with my daughter, family and friends because I knew we were in great hands! We truly thank you Michelle!
