mpensation, he took matters into his own hands and called up all his contacts. Within 24 hour of my call with Mike he was able to connect me with vendors. If it wasn't for Mike, I swear I would still be waiting on replies. I can't thank you enough, Mike!! You are the best!!

I chose Mike because of his ratings, his charisma, and his willingness to decrease his price to match another DJ. He was slow to respond to our emails, but I thought as long as he showed up to our wedding and does it right then I could live with the slow communication. Our wedding was supposed to be in April 2020, but with the CDC gathering restrictions of 50, we decided to postpone. Mike said he would be able to do our wedding which we decided to move to September 2020. Of course things were still not good then, so we decided to wait a whole year in hopes things would be better in HI by September 2021. Come July 2021 we get an email from our coordinators saying that Mike may not attend the wedding due to him moving back to the mainland and not wanting to take any of the 3 steps to travel to HI. I emailed him if he would be able to attend and he replied it would be a good idea to get a backup DJ in case the restrictions wouldn't be lifted by September 2021. So, because of Mike suggesting for us to go with a different DJ because of his possibility of not attending, I had to frantically look for another DJ 2 months before our wedding. I emailed Mike asking for a refund since he was cancelling on us in which he stated we would not get a refund. I couldn't believe that he wouldn't even offer a partial refund...HE WAS THE ONE CANCELLING ON US! I then wrote back stating we would take legal action in which he replied that our actions were "disappointing and disgusting." Really? You're the one taking ALL of the money without rendering any services (again--he cancelled on us!) and then calling us "disgusting." Really goes to show the character of this guy. He then attempted to defend himself by saying it was for his safety (if it was, you would take any of the 3 steps to make it to our wedding). But his main argument was that the date was a "courtesy date transfer" and nowhere in the contract did it say he needed to attend our wedding in September. He was the only vendor out of all of our vendors who used this excuse. Unlike our other vendors who still acknowledged our date transfer without an updated contract and offered us credit or a refund if they couldn’t, Mike did neither and simply took our money. He also attempted to make us feel like we missed an opportunity by writing that he would've (yeah right) recommended to us another DJ, but decided against it because he didn't want us suing these DJs. 1) You still have our money for services you didn't render, 2) Why would we trust your judgment after you stole our money? 3) So you were going to tell us last second of a trusted DJ when you had told us to look for a backup DJ? Replanning for our wedding 3x had already been stressful. But Mike Bell made it unnecessarily extremely stressful by 1) cancelling on us 2 months before our wedding, 2) taking our money without rendering services, 2) trying to put us down by writing that our actions were “disappointing and disgusting” for wanting to have our money back. I would never ever go with Mike Bell. Biggest mistake of this whole wedding planning process.

energetic and the guests still really had a great time - thanks to Mike's upbeat personality and the music he played. He literally was drenched from head to toe but didn't complain once! It really was a tough working environment for him, but he hit it out of the park. The rain threw off the timing of our wedding agenda, but Mike didn't miss a beat. While we hired him specifically as a DJ, it was no surprise to hear that he can do any/all part of wedding planning/coordinating because he was so knowledgeable. He seriously helped me in so many ways getting ready for the wedding, including meeting with me AND my husband on different occasions during a very specific time frame when we were back in Hawaii (we planned the wedding from Rhode Island). Mike is very responsive and listens to your interests/concerns and I really can't think of anything that he could've done better. Thanks again Mike for everything! (PS. His wife is super awesome too!)

He was so enthusiastic over the phone i instantly knew that he had a kind of passion for music that would match ours. When we arrived in Oahu a few days before our wedding in Kauai, he offered to drive from the east side of the island to meet us at our hotel in Waikiki so we could talk in person. We had dinner with him and his wife and discovered he also has a deep knowledge of Hawaii - the history and traditions. MB has an easy going demeanor but it’s obvious he cared deeply about his important role at our wedding. He paid close attention to our wedding playlist which we gave as guidance and kept things moving at the right speed and right time throughout the wedding. As an MC, he was very lively and got everyone involved. He was a trusted presence throughout the entire event. He has access to top notch equipment on every island and was well worth the extra money to fly from Oahu to Kauai. Mike bell absolutely took our event to the next level!

rts, iI find out that Mike Bell threw a massive tantrum about the possibility of his equipment getting ruined and threatened to storm out before the wedding coordinator told him no way! He was literally about to bail on the entire event (mind you he was the musician for my ceremony and the DJ for cocktail hour and the reception) This would have left me with absolutely no one had my wedding coordinator not stopped him. The ceremony for my wedding ended up getting moved to a more sheltered location because of the rain, it was originally supposed to be on the beach, but because it was so wet it was moved to a pavilion. Again, as the bride, this was tough, but I sucked it up and it ended up being amazing. Only one problem for the ceremony...Mike Bell DID NOT play the specific song I had requested play while I, THE BRIDE, walked down the aisle. I chose this song years and years ago because it is very special to me, and to my shock and dismay, as I approached the aisle to walk down....he didn't play my song. I was so devastated. Unfortunately there were several additional mishaps from Mike Bell too. My husband and I gave him a long list of song requests to play during our reception...he played them all while people were sitting down eating, so we didnt get to dance to any music that we had wanted to. Also, we had a Jewish wedding and I had given him a specific version of the Hora that I wanted him to play...and of course he did not. He played the saddest version of the Hora I had ever heard. Again, I was devastated. When my mom called to follow up on how disappointed we were with him, his maturity level did not improve. He yelled at my mom saying we were late on a payment so nothing was his fault and technically he didn't need to show up at all. For the record, we never knew we were late for a payment, all he had to do was send an email. As a family planning a wedding there are many vendors and payments you will deal with so its easy to have one get over looked. Of course we paid him in full several weeks before the wedding, but it almost felt as if he went into the situation already disliking us and not caring how our wedding went. This is a warning to all, Mike Bell may seem super upbeat, personable and easy going, but the second he gets in a bad mood he is a completely different person. So if your like me, and happy to catch Mike Bell in a bad mood on your wedding day, he will have no remorse for throwing in the towel and doing a so so job on what is the most important day in your life! Please beware so you dont have to suffer through what we did.

We sat down with him prior to our wedding date and I instantly knew that I could trust him with our wedding. All the guests at our wedding had a blast and loved all the music he played. Mike Bell seemed to present himself in a professional manner. Until....it came to the day of the wedding. I felt that we were truly robbed in every way possible.His lack of communication and professionalism was noticed by all of our guests. The day of seemed completely unorganized. The assistants seemed like they had no direction, standing on the side looking at their phones. How can you claim to be a DJ and MC but can not recover if your equipment fails which you guaranteed on many occasions? Mike cut the microphones during the ceremony, he played the wrong song for the family wedding introduction, there was so much awkward silence throughout the evening, he did microphone checks throughout the reception, he hardly played any live music (when we payed so much for it), my husband had to yell out the table numbers for dinner because the microphone wasn't working and Mike was not doing the job we paid him to do by coordinating the event, he forgot about the bouquet toss music, and overall just couldn't adjust to the evening and did not fulfill the majority of his contract. I understand that things go wrong at a wedding but when we approached him(Mike) during the wedding reception we felt that he ignored us. He has no accountability for anything which is very unprofessional. I would not give this company anything less then -10 stars. We tried to reach out after the wedding and felt that he was being very unreasonable, he blamed other venders for his mistakes. When we wrote to Mike about how upset we were he disregarded everything that was said and thanked us for choosing him.. Im a little heart broken that this is the a memory that I will have of my wedding after my family, friends, now husband and I worked so hard that day to make it special. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

45 people, so it wouldn't be that big of a deal, right? Well..... 10 more people got added.... And then another 10 were added... And then 20 more... And all of a sudden our initial headcount doubled. Yikes, it evolved into a big deal. We had to manage, coordinate, and pay for vendors based on phone/email and a 5 hour flight away. This would prove to be a daunting task... Mike Bell and his team came highly rated on The Knot so we gave him a call. He's super chill, professional, and competitive with his pricing. Once we expressed interest in his DJ services, he forwarded us a questionnaire. It asked about the types of music that we like and the types of music that we don't like (aka music that will be banned). It asked which specific songs would be played during which specific portion of the reception (entrance music, father daughter dance, garter toss, bouquet toss, cake cutting, etc). It was very specific as to which version of the song (original, cover, acoustic, etc), which artist, and which year. We thought to ourselves that a person that puts this much thought and attention into his questionnaires would put even more into the actual event itself. DJ services: Done. Mike and his team also handled our lighting, photobooth, and officiating. Our daunting task of hiring vendors was cut in half! Fast forward to the wedding day.... Mike spoke such powerful words at our ceremony. It spoke to both of us and brought about tears of joy. He used a lot of material from the questionnaires to personalize his anecdotes. He played all of the music from our extensive playlists and made some good executive decisions on his own. When he noticed that people weren't dancing to specific types of songs, he'd fade it and return to ones that brought people back out. He noticed that the Electric Slide brought a lot of people to the dance floor, so once things started slowing down on the dance floor, he switched back to the Electric Slide, followed by the Cupid Shuffle, followed by Cha Cha Shuffle 1 and 2. The dance floor was packed. And it was 25 minutes of non-stop cardio and sweat flying all over the place. The lighting was beautiful. I kept looking over at the bar and thinking to myself that our bar tab was going to be super expensive because the line was long .... all night. And then I realized that it was the line to the photobooth, which was adjacent to the bar. Phew, that was a close one. Mike and his crew provided a ton of fun accessories and props. The technology was top notch and self supported. You simply click on the button on the screen, pose, and wait for it to print. There was staff on hand to add paper and answer questions, but it was super easy to use. My nephews and nieces had a blast. He also made a chandelier for us, which turned out awesome! Everyone commented on his performance at the wedding and how nice the chandelier was. If you're looking for a DJ for any event or are looking for a wedding vendor, look no further. He is your go to guy for anything you may need. He literally does everything! Highly recommended!

Leading up to the wedding, we discussed our needs thoroughly, and Mike was flexible with his package options to provide us with exactly what we needed at a reasonable cost. Just days before the wedding, we asked if we could add some lawn games if they were still available, but unfortunately they had already been rented out. Fast forward to two days before the ceremony when we called Mike to lock down the final order of events and he tells us he's just finishing up sanding the boards for our bean bag toss. He made them from scratch! Mike goes above and beyond for his clients and I am thrilled to recommend his services for anyone looking for a responsive, competent and fun DJ in Hawaii.

He even had equipment to hook up my gopro to his sound system (I was so stoked, cause we couldn't afford videographer) and it allowed me to get quality audio for our video we'll remember forever! As a DJ, I literally have nothing bad to say. He had a very detailed pamphlet for us to fill out. Covering all details about the wedding regarding music and flow. He has great equipment and the right attitude, full of smiles. He was great about accepting requests , played every single one! I would hire mike again in a heartbeat! Mike was a lending ear when I wanted to break down, he was super chill the entire night, and he was great to converse with even when I needed to sneak away from the dance floor. LOL Thank you Mike for being so professional, for working with all our needs, for that extra finesse in setting up lights which beautified our background, it sure needed it :) I am so thankful for your service and wish you all the best.
