ether all the decorations, finding the perfect utensils, hassling the caters and coordinating all of the people that were traveling. At one point or another during the planning, I was so busy I couldn't even think! So when Mike Bell came along I was so excited! Mike Bell seemed to present himself in a professional manner. Until....it came to the day of the wedding. I felt that we were truly robbed in every way possible.His lack of communication and professionalism was noticed by all of our guests. The day of seemed completely unorganized. The assistants seemed like they had no direction, standing on the side looking at their phones. How can you claim to be a DJ and MC but can not recover if your equipment fails which you guaranteed on many occasions? Mike cut the microphones during the ceremony, he played the wrong song for the family wedding introduction, there was so much awkward silence throughout the evening, he did microphone checks throughout the reception, he hardly played any live music (when we payed so much for it), my husband had to yell out the table numbers for dinner because the microphone wasn't working and Mike was not doing the job we paid him to do by coordinating the event, he forgot about the bouquet toss music, and overall just couldn't adjust to the evening and did not fulfill the majority of his contract. I understand that things go wrong at a wedding but when we approached him(Mike) during the wedding reception we felt that he ignored us. He has no accountability for anything which is very unprofessional. I would not give this company anything less then -10 stars. We tried to reach out after the wedding and felt that he was being very unreasonable, he blamed other venders for his mistakes. When we wrote to Mike about how upset we were he disregarded everything that was said and thanked us for choosing him.. Im a little heart broken that this is the a memory that I will have of my wedding after my family, friends, now husband and I worked so hard that day to make it special. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

vacay for family and close friends. Initially we expected 40 - 45 people, so it wouldn't be that big of a deal, right? Well..... 10 more people got added.... And then another 10 were added... And then 20 more... And all of a sudden our initial headcount doubled. Yikes, it evolved into a big deal. We had to manage, coordinate, and pay for vendors based on phone/email and a 5 hour flight away. This would prove to be a daunting task... Mike Bell and his team came highly rated on The Knot so we gave him a call. He's super chill, professional, and competitive with his pricing. Once we expressed interest in his DJ services, he forwarded us a questionnaire. It asked about the types of music that we like and the types of music that we don't like (aka music that will be banned). It asked which specific songs would be played during which specific portion of the reception (entrance music, father daughter dance, garter toss, bouquet toss, cake cutting, etc). It was very specific as to which version of the song (original, cover, acoustic, etc), which artist, and which year. We thought to ourselves that a person that puts this much thought and attention into his questionnaires would put even more into the actual event itself. DJ services: Done. Mike and his team also handled our lighting, photobooth, and officiating. Our daunting task of hiring vendors was cut in half! Fast forward to the wedding day.... Mike spoke such powerful words at our ceremony. It spoke to both of us and brought about tears of joy. He used a lot of material from the questionnaires to personalize his anecdotes. He played all of the music from our extensive playlists and made some good executive decisions on his own. When he noticed that people weren't dancing to specific types of songs, he'd fade it and return to ones that brought people back out. He noticed that the Electric Slide brought a lot of people to the dance floor, so once things started slowing down on the dance floor, he switched back to the Electric Slide, followed by the Cupid Shuffle, followed by Cha Cha Shuffle 1 and 2. The dance floor was packed. And it was 25 minutes of non-stop cardio and sweat flying all over the place. The lighting was beautiful. I kept looking over at the bar and thinking to myself that our bar tab was going to be super expensive because the line was long .... all night. And then I realized that it was the line to the photobooth, which was adjacent to the bar. Phew, that was a close one. Mike and his crew provided a ton of fun accessories and props. The technology was top notch and self supported. You simply click on the button on the screen, pose, and wait for it to print. There was staff on hand to add paper and answer questions, but it was super easy to use. My nephews and nieces had a blast. He played every song we requested, and did an excellent job with his live performance, even though he only had a few days to prep before my wedding day ( I requested last minute). He also made a chandelier for us, which turned out awesome! Everyone commented on his performance at the wedding and how nice the chandelier was. If you're looking for a DJ for any event or are looking for a wedding vendor, look no further. He is your go to guy for anything you may need. He literally does everything! Highly recommended!

the reception, Mike was friendly, professional and committed to making sure our day was fun and stress free. Leading up to the wedding, we discussed our needs thoroughly, and Mike was flexible with his package options to provide us with exactly what we needed at a reasonable cost. Just days before the wedding, we asked if we could add some lawn games if they were still available, but unfortunately they had already been rented out. Fast forward to two days before the ceremony when we called Mike to lock down the final order of events and he tells us he's just finishing up sanding the boards for our bean bag toss. He made them from scratch! Mike goes above and beyond for his clients and I am thrilled to recommend his services for anyone looking for a responsive, competent and fun DJ in Hawaii.

ure out our marriage license. We hired Mike to be our officiant and party starting DJ for our April 6th wedding. As an officiant he was great, dressed accordingly and had a very nice custom reading for us. He even had equipment to hook up my gopro to his sound system (I was so stoked, cause we couldn't afford videographer) and it allowed me to get quality audio for our video we'll remember forever! As a DJ, I literally have nothing bad to say. He had a very detailed pamphlet for us to fill out. Covering all details about the wedding regarding music and flow. He has great equipment and the right attitude, full of smiles. He was great about accepting requests , played every single one! I would hire mike again in a heartbeat! As a bride, you plan most of the wedding and who knew I'd have so many struggles including shipping all my wedding stuff and having it stolen from my families porch. Mike was a lending ear when I wanted to break down, he was super chill the entire night, and he was great to converse with even when I needed to sneak away from the dance floor. is thanks to you! I think the selection of music was great - mostly "old school" which a lot of our parents and older folks loved, as well as our friends. It was the perfect mix that kept people dancing all night. The music for the ceremony was great, all of the speeches, announcements, etc. was perfect! I'd recommend Mike to anyone looking for a DJ!

I was throwing up during most of the reception, but Mike kept our guests occupied and busy. There were a couple times when he had to cover for me - I couldn't have asked for anyone better. Everyone LOVED him. We even got my father in law to dance - and it wasn't the alcohol! THANK YOU MIKE!

Toward the end of the reception I changed into a reception dress and left my ceremony dress in the bathroom... the night got away from me and I guess we had all forgotten my dress in the bathroom as the bus was taking us back to the hotel. My sister informed me that Mike ran the dress out to the bus so it was not left behind! Mike was not hired to do this but he did! He truly was a great addition to our ceremony and reception.

He played a very key role in that and when it came time for the entrance he failed miserably and embarrassed us in front of our family and friends. Music is very important to us and we wanted to be able to play our instruments at our own wedding. We had our instruments set up to play and after he moved them he failed to even plug anything in or turn anything back on. And he will ask you like most DJs for a "must play" and "do not play" list of songs. The must play list was very important to us for sentimental reasons. NONE of the must play songs were played. I can't stress enough how pathetic that is to offer a service only to completely ignore that in the end. Those memories that should have been will never be and it is 100% on Mike. I have made sure to tell others to stay away because with all of the talented DJs out there it is not worth risking.

and didn't do all the traditional wedding reception items - he followed exactly what we wanted and our guests were raving about how great he was! He is very talented. At one point he was playing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and I looked over and he was singing! He was so good that I couldn't even tell it was him - I thought he was part of the song. our previous DJ took off with my money. He not only eased my mind but then offered John to be the Officiate and DJ. Having not met John before the wedding I was a bit nervous about how the ceremony would go. I had no reason to be. He was absolutely fantastic. He was witty and funny, and handled everything like an absolute professional. He then proceeded to clean up and move inside to DJ the rest of the night for the reception. He was awesome to say the least. He was a fantastic DJ/personality. He would be a GREAT addition to anyone's wedding, or event!

He clearly has a passion for his job and focuses on making it the best party you'll ever have! He's everything you want in a DJ: energetic, creative, funny and passionate. He tries avoiding the typical songs you hear at weddings, which is a nice change of pace! We didn't use him for live music at the ceremony, but I highly recommend him after overhearing him singing as he tore down at the end of the night. Overall an amazing experience!

o, but he was more than willing to set up a Skype meeting. As for the day of the wedding, we had specially mixed music for our processional and bridal march. All we had to do was send him the music files, and he took care of the rest! He was mindful of our eclectic taste, and there was plenty of great music played during our cocktail hour. He kept the reception lively all the way through, and all of our guests had great things to say about the selection of songs he picked. He's such a friendly person, and felt more like another guest at our wedding, rather than a vendor. He was a blast to work with. My husband and I won't hesitate to recommend him!
