Minnig Photography

We were very excited when we found Minnig Photography to be our videographer. The day of the wedding Nick was wonderful and it seemed like he almost wasn't there. Then after the wedding he stopped answering phone calls and emails and we were no longer a priority. About two months after the wedding I e-mailed him just to check in. After three e-mails and two phone calls we still had not heard back. Luckily my parents work near his office so my dad stopped in and Nick told him he was conveniently just about to e-mail me back! He said his editor left and they were behind but it would only be a few weeks. A month and a half later we had nothing. After a week of playing tag I was informed his editor should have it ready in 7-10 days. On the 11th day I emailed him and he told me it wasn't ready and he would let me know as soon as it was. Four days later my mom stopped in and it was still not ready. A week and a half later we finally received the video. The quality of this video was not anything like what we were shown at our consultation meeting. The shots during our ceremony and the audio quality were awful. Instead of taping our soloists during their song we had 2.5 minutes of just my husband and I watching them. This would have been a great opportunity to not only see the soloists singing, but to scan our guests. As we were walking out after the ceremony the view was from behind us so you couldn't see any of the wedding party exiting the church. Many of the shots at the reception were out of focus or too close. We are so disappointed. We expected much more and would not recommend Minnig Photography for any event. The only reason I gave them a 2 was because we finally received some sort of product that we could watch, as disappointing as it was.

STAY AWAY!! Have not received what I ordered. No response to most of my emails. When I do get a response it's full of lies and excuses.

The Minnigs are great people to work with. We used them for both our wedding and engagement pictures. Having the two photographers to capture different moments was instrumental when deciding on a photographer.

DO NOT fall into the same trap as my husband and I did. All the great reviews you have read were written directly after an event before the Minnig's true colors came out. It has now been almost 2 years since our wedding and we still do not have everything we ordered. The Minnig's were paid in full before our wedding and it took a year and a half to get 1 of the 4 albums we ordered. Countless emails and phone calls have gone unanswered, and months go by between emails from them. It has been excuse after excuse from them and there have been no apologies. We recently contacted the Better Business Bureau, and every attempt from them has been ignored by the Minnig's. It is pretty apparent that they aren't phased by this at all and truly do not care. I have never come across a more unprofessional business and I am absolutely irate over the entire situation.

Mike and Sherry were great to work with, and they had a really good idea of what we were looking for. They were flexible and very reasonably priced, and do all their proofs online so it's convenient. We also had a photo booth with them, and our guests really had a blast dressing up and getting their pictures taken. I would definitely recommend these guys for a wedding or other special event.

Mike and partners are very professional. Many of my guests commented on how official they were and courteous. I have not received the photo's yet so can only speak of their actions.

We hired Mike and Sherry to photograph our wedding in October 2011. In the beginning they were responsive and wonderful to work with. Things quickly changed after the wedding and once our package was paid in full. Approximately 1 week before the wedding we were informed that Sherry had given birth and would not be able to photograph our wedding, but instead we would have an associate photographer. We were not even told that this may be issue before this time, and paid an extra $1000 to have Mike and Sherry. They did offer us to have a free photo booth for the inconvenience (which they were offering to current clients at $200). The day of the wedding, our timeline of events that was given to Mike, was not followed. This caused us to not have any family photos, or photos of siblings. At this point there was nothing that could be done. The pictures that were eventually put online, were done well. However, the real issue comes with customer service/delivery of the products. We waited over 7 months just to receive a proof of our wedding album and almost 2 years to actually receive the wedding album and our photo book album. It was the same story, over and over again, that it was a vendor issue and it was out of their hands. They were unresponsive to emails, telephone calls, and even messages left at their office. Many of their other clients that I spoke with had similar issues. We were told by Mike that the albums were ordered on a particular date, and when talking to an associate in the office, found out that they were just ordered the previous day (four months later). We were also told that we still owed money on the albums and that's why they weren't ordered - despite the entire package being paid in full well before the wedding. We did FINALLY receive all of our products that were ordered. The quality of the products are wonderful, however, I would not recommend this vendor due to the time and aggravation it takes to receive your products and get in touch with the vendor.

Please do NOT use these photographers and save yourself the headaches! After our the photographers received our payment in full and our wedding was over, their professionalism went out the window! I was trying to get a hold of them via email and they did not return my emails until 3 months later. It took 7 months just to get the wedding pictures DVD in my hands after they told me the second week of September they would be mailed out in one week. Additional comments an update: It has been 15 months since my wedding and I still do NOT have the 3 albums I paid for! I have been emailing them, calling them, and if I do get a response it's always the same thing; that the albums should be done soon. I actually got an email from them recently saying "it was out of their hands". I couldn't believe Mike Minnig had the audacity to say that. We have threatened a lawyer twice and we have decided to proceed. I have got in touch with several brides from summer 2012 and all are having the same issues with the Minnig's. They all said they were nice to deal with in the beginning, but they cannot get what they already paid for! The Minnig's also tried to get more money out of me. They tried to say I owed another $800. Luckily, I kept all my emails and forwarded them to him to prove I already paid in full! I have all the emails saved and printed out in a file for my lawyer to present to Minnig's Photography. They have also been disrespectful to both sides of our families with not returning any phone calls or emails. This is a horrible business to work with and the public needs to be aware. We were also promised a 5 minute wedding video that they advertised on their blog about a month after our wedding, but but it took 14 months for me to receive it! It has been a constant battle with the Minnig's for the last 15 months and all I want is what I paid in full for! Please do NOT use these photographers and save yourself the headaches.

We had Mike and Sherry as our photographers and they were wonderful! I had worked with them in the past for both of my cousins weddings so I knew they would great! We had a blast with their photo booth, I highly recommend it!

Mike and sherry were amazing from the beginning. They met with us in the middle of a blizzard to talk about services and as soon as we met them we knew that they were a perfect choice for us. They offer many amazing services from pre to post wedding. Sherry was not able to make the wedding due to the birth of their child :-) but mike provided 2 additional photographers. They were very knowledgable, fun and outgoing. We did the standard posed photos but after that they blended in and just snapped away. I have not seen any of my photos yet but i am patiently waiting and confident they will be perfect! They exceded any expectations and worked amazingly with the other vendors to make our day perfect!

We loved working with Mike & Sherry for our engagement session..they were so much fun and took SO many photos!! It took a bit longer to get them back than we were told, which normally wouldn't be a big deal, but we wanted to use the photos for our save the dates and needed to send them out. They were very apologetic and offered to do our save the dates due to the long turn around time. We had their associates photograph our wedding day, as they were already booked...the associates did a very good job and we were pleased. I'm afraid the turn around time for our wedding photographs is going to be even longer, which can be frustrating, but part of the blame can go on the notorious flooding we've had and fall being a busy season. I just hope we get our photos in a reasonable time frame. All in all..they are great and we would use them again! :)

Overall, I was thrilled with my photographs. I wish there were a few different ones, but that was probably my fault for not vocalizing that to the photographers. It was great to have two photographers there, but I just wish they would have split up a bit more at times. But overall, I really did enjoy working with them. The pictures were beautiful.
