Mission Resort + Club

I absolutely LOVED getting married at the Mission Resort & Club. I know people who have regrets or complaints about their wedding day—but that was not my experience at all. Our wedding was joyful, elegant, and beautifully executed, and I truly feel we had the wedding of our dreams. Before getting into pros and cons, I really want to highlight their All-Inclusive Wedding Package, because it was a game-changer. The package includes all of the core vendors you need and is fully customizable. For example, we swapped out the DJ for a live band; the venue credited us the DJ portion of the package and we applied that toward the band instead. The resort provides a curated list of excellent vendor options for photography, florals, DJ/band, bakery, and planning/coordinating, as well as optional vendors for things like draping and photo booths (both of which we used 😊). Having high-quality, vetted options already in place made the planning process so much more manageable. You still make plenty of decisions, but it’s nowhere near as overwhelming as sourcing every vendor yourself—and everything feels cohesive and well thought out. Pros: The Mission Resort is absolutely beautiful. The grounds, the ceremony and reception spaces, and the photo locations are stunning. Every vendor we chose through their recommendations was fantastic, and we were thrilled with each one. A tip for future couples: once you find a vendor you like, ask them their thoughts on the other vendor options (for example, asking your planner about florists). That was incredibly helpful for us. The food was exceptional. The tasting experience was elegant and thoughtfully done, and the food on the wedding day itself exceeded expectations. Honestly, everything about our wedding felt elegant. The price was not inexpensive, but it felt fair—and in many cases lower than other all-inclusive venues or even DIY weddings once everything is added up. For us, it was absolutely worth the price. The package also includes a two-night stay in a suite for the bride and groom, which was such a wonderful perk. We were also able to rent a room for a breakfast the morning after the wedding at a reasonable cost, which was a lovely way to wrap up the weekend. Having so many of our guests staying on property and being together under one roof was really special. Most importantly, our vision was realized beautifully. My fiancé and I were overjoyed. Our guests had so much positive feedback. Cons: Very minimal. Our venue coordinator, Miranda, was kind, thoughtful, and even wrote us a sweet note and gave us swag after the wedding. I would say she was stronger with phone and in-person communication than written communication, which we learned after a few delayed or unanswered emails early on. There was also an initial mix-up regarding venue availability. That said, these issues were ultimately resolved, and we appreciated the effort to work through them. Additionally, some of the guest rooms felt a bit dated and were somewhat noisy due to construction at the time. They were still nice, but didn’t quite match the elegance of the event spaces themselves. We also chose to host our rehearsal dinner off-property, as it would have been significantly more expensive on site. TL;DR: Everything was about 98% completely perfect, with just a few small caveats—and we still had the wedding of our dreams. The venue was absolutely beautiful. The staff was professional and helpful, and the food was amazing. Overall, we had a great experience that we will always cherish.
