Important Update
The Florida Department of State and Mission San Luis are grateful to Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Legislature for appropriating funds to construct Artifact Curation and Conservation facilities at Mission San Luis. Construction of these facilities will be underway beginning in June 2025 and will affect certain areas of the Mission San Luis site until January 2027.
As a result, our Rentals program will only be accepting requests with a max guest count of 100 due to limited parking availability, until the end of December 2026. I apologize for the inconvenience! Keep in mind that we still plan to open back up for larger scale events and can start booking for January 2027 as early as today.
If you have specific questions about how construction will impact your event, or if you wish to cancel or modify your reservation, please contact us at rentals@missionsanluis.org, or 850.245.6388.

A classroom and a boardroom serve as ideal getting-ready spots for the wedding party, and they’re also great places to keep the kids content and entertained until the fun starts. Outdoors, choose between the enclosed courtyard with fountain -- great for small ceremonies or cocktail lounges -- or the “paseo” area leading up to the "portal" to the 17th-century living history museum.
The Mission Room features impressive, vaulted ceilings and can hold 180 family and friends for an elegant, seated reception. Total standing capacity of all spaces is 300 or more.
History
Mission San Luis' heritage is that of a blended community of Apalachee Indians and Spanish newcomers that lived together at the site more than 350 years ago. From 1656 to 1704, Mission San Luis served as the principal village of the Apalachees and was the Spaniards' westernmost capital.

Great location for a wedding with indoor space for ceremony, rooms to get ready.
We absolutely loved our wedding at Mission San Luis in October 2017. My finance and I really had no clue what we were doing when we began the process but the team at the Mission we...
re very patient and answered all of our questions. The Mission was one of the last tours of venues we took and I think my fiance and I knew right away we wanted to get married there. The grounds are beautiful and the interior is breathtaking. If the physical beauty of the venue wasn't enough, the people at the Mission were amazing. They were well organized throughout the process and helped us achieve our vision of our perfect day.
They have even been extremely helpful after our wedding! My fiance and I stopped by the Mission this past weekend to see if an item that went missing after our wedding had turned up. While we still haven't been able to locate the item, the team made sure to double check several locations around the Mission to see if it was found. They also helped us reach out to other vendors to be on the lookout.
We could not recommend Mission San Luis enough to other couples looking to get married in the Tallahassee area.
Mission San Luis was a most excellent wedding venue. The staff is incredibly helpful and caring. They will go above and beyond to make your day perfect. We tried booking the Missio...
n over 2 years before our wedding date because the site was important to us as a couple and the venue is accomdating to guests, rain or shine. We were so excited to book and get our favorite date, April 1st, 2017. Helena, the venue coordinator, will take you through all the steps to plan your wedding. She even ran to get my bouquet I had forgotten before walking down the aisle! Our day went amazingly, we would never choose a different venue. There is so much heart in that place. All of our guests were impressed with the architecture and scenery. Everyone, including the wedding party was comfortable and extremely happy. Thank you Helena and Mission San Luis!!!
I couldn’t have selected a more perfect venue. I initially choose Mission because they had an indoor ceremony space separate from the reception space. Our initial meeting with Hele...
na was professional and informative. She answered all our questions and laid out all of the fees, so we were never surprised by anything extra we had to pay. There were several options and we were able to pick one that fit our needs. The venue itself is impeccably maintained and absolutely stunning. Our guests loved the day-passes they got to view the museum and complimented the stunning ceilings and spacious reception space. The only issue was the inflexibility of the rehearsal time. It was never made clear that the rehearsal had to be planned around venue availability and that you could only book a rehearsal time 1 month before the wedding. I brought this up so they could ensure future brides were more aware of this policy. They took this feedback incredibly well and continued to help me have the wedding of my dreams!
We just had our wedding there on 8/20. We could not have asked for a better place! Helena was so helpful and the ceremony and reception were perfect!! Dream Wedding for sure! <3 <3...

Gorgeous ballroom. I could not have picked anything better for my reception site!!
Having a wedding in Tallahassee brings along some limitations as far as venues. Having a wedding where 300 guest are invited brings along another set of limitations. We were able t...
o find a beautiful venue that could hold all of our friends and family (about 230-240 ended up coming). We DID NOT have a seated dinner (we did buffet and people came and went as we pleased). I just want to be clear here because the space would not have been big enough to fit all those tables, chairs, dance floor and band. However, doing things the way we did, we never once felt cramped, all our guest ate and were able to sit when needed and everyone had a fabulous time!
Gorgeous venue, great service.
