Located near Sacramento and Roseville and nestled sweetly in the Sierra foothills, this unique 12-acre estate has a beautiful 200-year-old heritage oak tree setting the backdrop for your romantic garden ceremony, a rock garden waterfall, lots of shade and beautiful lush greenery, and a gorgeous refurbished rustic barn venue just steps away for your magical reception.
Couples looking to get married at Newcastle Gardens can accommodate up to 150 guests. The Gardens are brimming with beautiful elements, such as heritage oak trees, granite boulders, a waterfall, potted plants and flowers, cobblestone walkways and secret paths. Any one of these gorgeous locations can be the perfect place for your wedding photographs. Receptions can be held at the Red Horse Barn, which has been renovated with vaulted ceilings, iron chandeliers, stained concrete floors, a custom built-in bar, plus a Barn Loft Showroom full of wedding decor free to use on your special day, including lanterns, floral vessels, votives, easels, signage, antique originals, fabrics, table numbers, and more! Exclusive access to these items come with your venue rental and help offset many must-haves costs on the big day!
From the time of booking Newcastle Gardens as a venue to the day of the wedding, couples will receive full-service planning support. Everything from a bridal suite and groom's room, to services like setup, cleanup, and in-house coordination, florals and catering are all available. Tables, chairs, linens, glassware, flatware, and event rentals are also available. Lighting and sound equipment may be accommodated on request.
Newcastle Gardens is owned and operated by Matt and Jessica Mermod. With combined experience of over 30 years in the service industry in bars, restaurants and catering, Newcastle Gardens is a labor of love for the both of them. Chef Matt has exercised his culinary talents from Southern California to the Bay Area, and up to wine country. Customizing menus and service styles are what set Matt and Newcastle Gardens apart from every other venue; ANYTHING you want to create for your wedding menu is a possibility. Anything from hand-rolled sushi, Sicilian-style pizza, BBQ, Coastal cuisine...the more creative, the better!

anted to look for a venue that had as many things included on-site, like catering, decorations, florals, table settings/linens/set-up and breakdown, bartenders, coordinators, etc. This place hit all the marks and made planning a breeze. They were always available whenever we had questions, and were just amazing! Another highlight was the food. Matt grows produce in the gardens on-site, so everything is just so fresh. We hosted our rehearsal dinner at the venue as well, and both menus we chose were nothing short of extraordinary, and our guests were raving about the food as well. That's another reason why we chose the venue; we wanted to make sure our guests were taken care of, and people remember how the food was at weddings. Overall, it was just the perfect venue for us, with the gardens for the ceremony and the barn for reception. If we could get married all over again here, we would do it in a heartbeat. The coordination was top-notch, with everything running smoothly thanks to the attentive and professional team. A huge shoutout to Matt, the venue owner, whose food was nothing short of incredible — our guests are still talking about the meal! And the floral arrangements by Jess (also one of the owners) were stunning. She truly has an amazing eye for design and brought our vision to life in the most breathtaking way.

Jess did our floral arrangements, table decor and seating chart. When we first met to discuss what type of look I was going for, she had a lot of creative ideas and was highly collaborative. I ended up giving her a lot of creative leeway because I truly felt like she understood the look and vibe I wanted to create for my wedding. She over delivered. I might be biased, but my wedding looked so good! I was thrilled, I could not get over how gorgeous my flowers and the decor looked.
Matt did our menu, and everything tasted fantastic. We did a very autumnal themed menu and his ideas were awesome. He really can cook anything. They also made sure that my groom and I had enough time to eat! My guests were salivating over everything that was served. The venue is BYOB, but they do provide that bartender. We had Abe and he was so friendly.
The venue also provides a day of coordinator, we had Jordan, she was so personable and efficient. She got everyone where they were supposed to be, and I felt like she solved 1000 things before I even knew there was a potential issue. No one bothered me at my wedding thanks to her! My husband and I were able to just enjoy our celebration and each other. She even made us a dinner plate and brought it to our table!

As a full time working mom of two trying to plan a wedding…I needed a “one stop shop”. Matt is a caterer and makes amazing food, Jessica does amazing floral arrangements and Heather (the wedding coordinator) listens to every little detail. Our wedding was perfect. The decore was so beautiful and in combination with a phenomenal DJ and great bartenders. Nobody wanted to leave!! lack of communication, respect, and overall execution of our wedding day was a complete disappointment. Our vision for this once in a lifetime day was not taken seriously, understood, or implemented well. There is a photo booth onsite which may seem rather convenient but use caution when using it. The owner will make terrible decisions without consulting you and is incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. The venue presents this "total package" idea which provides you with these incentives like a day of coordinator, staff that helps you set up and pack up the venue and so on. As a result, we got stuck with a day of coordinator who does not know what she is doing, rental items that were returned to us broken, and very little communication from the venue owners who ignore emails and phone calls. I would not recommend having your wedding at this venue. I can never get this day back and it is heartbreaking to have had this experience. If I could give it zero stars I would.

that we hired them for both the wedding and rehearsal dinner. She also works with O'Shay's florist who created gorgeous arrangements, bouquets and boutonnieres for our wedding. Our DJ, TJ Jurado-Song Man Entertainment, was professional, well organized and fun. The planning was simple and straightforward. The day of wedding staff was professional, readily available and always a step ahead of us ensuring that everyone had a fabulous time! The venue is so beautiful that my mother cried the first time she saw it. The setup of the venue is perfect! The day of our wedding there was a freak heat wave yet the ceremony site is so well shaded that our guests remained comfortable throughout the ceremony. The barn is perfectly setup to ensure all guests feel included and have a great view of the festivities. Overall the venue is gorgeous and easy for everyone to get around which was important to us since we had a number of guests in their 80s and 90s. We truly could not have picked a more beautiful venue or exceptional group of people to work with. The day ran smoothly and was everything we could have dreamed of and more!
