ited wedding transportation vendors in the area. Handling of the contract, payment, and planning a schedule for the pickup of our guests was all a very seamless process. The driver we worked with was Nick and although we had limited interaction with him, many of our guests commented on how nice and accommodating he was. There were a few hiccups on the day of the event with the pickup of our guests. There were some individuals who were picked up from a hotel who were not attending our event. Nick did kindly drop them off at their destination however this contributed to a delay in our guests getting to our event. The schedule also got pushed back due to traffic issues completely outside of the driver’s control. Nick worked well with our coordinator to provide updates on the ETA of our last group of guests to arrive. We were able to adjust our schedule slightly to ensure everyone was there for all of the ceremony. At the end of the night, Nick did a tremendous job of ensuring all of our guests made it home safely which we are truly grateful for. Overall we felt okay with our selection of OBX Trolley as our wedding transportation vendor, as at the end of the day everyone got there and everyone got home!

er, did Gene provide parameters (for best drive times, have guests book in X number of miles from property), or did he provide any heads up that the timelines for pickups may be expansive. I even followed up 2.5 months out as I was gathering addresses to check in and see if there was anything that I needed. He assured me I was ahead of the game. I shared 90% of our addresses around 6 weeks before our event, and didn't receive my first timeline until ~ 3 weeks out. At that point, the driver was suggesting that we needed to begin pickups at 12:30PM for our 5:00PM wedding. He had some people on the trolley for over 2 hours before a drop off too on that timeline! Note - our wedding was in Duck, on a Sunday of Memorial Day weekend (less traffic than normal change day), and our furthest address was 15 minutes away in either direction. The back and forth was rough and unprofessional, and they were not at all accommodating. After a knock out drag out fight, we ended up having to have Corolla Trolley (who were great - myself and a friend who got married that same weekend down there had great experiences with Sean there) come in to assist with pickups for additional money from us, and no compensation from OBX trolley. This was so we could start pick ups at reasonable time (which was still early to me), 3:00PM for OBX Trolley, and 3:30PM for Corolla Trolley. After all of that - all our guests ended up arriving a full hour before our ceremony, as I suspected they would. Icing on the cake after that back and forth was that I had pre-communicated with the driver about wanting them to stage and wait for our wedding party to take some trolley photos, and take the trolley to be dropped at the beach for a few shots. They were not outside the property for us, and when my coordinator called repeatedly, they couldn't be reached. We ended up having to skip what would have been some priceless photos because of this blunder. Word to the wise - if you have a wedding where your pick ups and drop offs involve multiple rental properties and aren't a straight simple hotel or two pick up and drop off, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. Gene himself told me this business is probably not profitable anymore for him, so it sounds like they don't seem to have a vested interest in serving their clients to the best of their abilities.
