They were flexible with our vendors, and with our use of the venue space. They are also both a perfect balance of both kind, but also level-headed, providing a calm and understanding but practical perspective on all wedding details. They guided us through the whole wedding day from start to finish, and ensured the day was smooth, and that I didn't have to worry about anything. Going with Overhills is one of the best decisions I made while planning my wedding, and I HIGHLY recommend you do the same!! They provide TOP notch service.

We got married in the tent, had cocktail hour outside/on the patio, and then had our reception in the ballroom. When it came to the planning process, it was amazing to work alongside Lauren and Lynda. They are both extremely professional, organized, detail-oriented, and kind. They really kept us on track with our planning tasks, and helped us develop our vision. They really supported us every step of the way when it came to venue logistics and our overall day. We also loved that we could rent out decor through the venue - made it so easy for us, and we didn't have to worry about purchasing or reselling anything. Julia was our day-of-coordinator, and ran our rehearsal. We cannot say enough amazing things about her. Her energy is amazing. We did not worry about a single thing on our wedding day because she had everything well under control. It's clear how much experience she has, and how much shares about each couple and making their day perfect. Last, but certainly not least, the food was outstanding. Having planners and caterers be part of our venue package was one of the best decisions we could've made for ourselves. It made the planning process so much smoother. We went to a dinner at Overhills to eat some of their food before deciding on our menu. We were simply blown away, and that made us more excited about our choice to host our wedding here. For our cocktail hour, we had pretzel bites, grilled cheese and tomato bites, spinach and artichoke dip, fruits, veggies, chicken terriyaki skewers. For our entrees, we offered a choice of short ribs or Chesapeake chicken (alongside bread, a salad and sides). For dessert, we brought in a cake, but also had their icecream sundae bar. We also got ready at the venue and ordered some of their sliders while getting our hair/makeup done. Everyone who came to our wedding raved about the outdoor space, the grilled cheese and tomato bites, their entrees, and the icecream sundae bar. As a couple, we are so glad people had a good time and enjoyed themselves and their food. We had the most perfect day we could've imagined, and cannot express our gratitude for Overhills enough (the venue, and the staff (planners + caterers).

f. The day was magical from start to finish. We originally picked the mansion because we wanted a venue that had catering on site—and let me tell you, the food is delicious! But a HUGE plus is that they offer so much support in the planning of the day, from vendor recommendations to on-site planning meetings and more. Our event planner, Lauren, was spectacular at helping us put together all the little details that made our day special. I could always come to her with any questions I had, and she was ready with expert advice. In addition, our day-of coordinator, Lynda, made sure the day’s events ran in a smooth and timely manner, and our whole wedding party enjoyed working with her. So much goes into planning a wedding, and it can be overwhelming at times; it makes such a difference to have a team like the staff at Overhills that is there to support you throughout the entire process. They really go above and beyond to help make your day memorable for all the right reasons. Highly recommend!!

was exceptional. She handled every aspect of the wedding ceremony and the setup for the reception flawlessly. She kept us on time and made sure everything ran perfectly, even though there were the expected “unexpected” moments that happen at every wedding. She kept me calm and I really appreciated that. Her staff was efficient and professional. The food was absolutely amazing!! The guests raved about the appetizers, salad and main entrées. The food temperature was perfect. The outdoor tent area and the ballroom were perfect for displaying our vision of a Parisian wedding. The upstairs rooms were large enough to handle our wedding party of 16. Overhills is great at answering messages in a timely manner. Our planner Lauren helped us get all of the details exactly right for our day. I especially loved being able to have the mansion for the whole day and utilizing their getting ready suites for hair and makeup. All of the day of staff was excellent. Our event coordinator made sure everything ran smoothly the whole day and the food and beverage team served up an outstanding meal and drinks service. There are also so many gorgeous places to take pictures around the mansion. This place is truly the best!

She demonstrated this through planning and on the wedding day. On our wedding day I also received her perceptive and caring side. You could still make everything your own but they helped provide a framework which was much better than working from a blank slate. The food was incredible and we loved the farm to table quality of ingredients. Everyone was raving how good the food was. The mansion itself is so beautiful and I received so many compliments from my guests. We added details to make it our own but similarly, it already is charming on its own. We loved how it was both inside the ballroom/bar and outside in the back by the patio and trees so guests could step in and out at their leisure. On the day, the staff was so friendly and accommodating. Truly could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you Overhills for making our dream wedding come true!

Overhills exceeded our expectations in every aspect. The food they provided was simply exquisite! Our guests couldn't stop raving about how delicious everything was. Special thanks go out to Karen, whose enthusiasm and expertise instantly won us over during our initial tour of the venue. We left knowing without a doubt that Overhills Mansion was the ideal choice for us. Although we didn't have a clear vision for our wedding initially, Lynda guided us with such grace and creativity, helping to shape a truly beautiful and magical evening. On the day itself, our coordinator LaToya ensured that everything ran seamlessly, bringing a sense of calm and organization to what could have been a hectic day. ous and all of the guests had such lovely things to say about it, but truly our favorite part was the ease of coordination between them and the vendors and the onsite catering. So many of my friends say they barely ate during their own weddings - but not us! We definitely made time to finish our plates. I had guests coming up to me to make sure I tried the appetizers because they were so good, and they were right! I was in the middle of socializing and people are interrupting me with a plate of something or other like "you have to have this!" Additionally, the staff day of and all throughout the process were extremely kind. I really had no idea how helpful they would be. I've been a bridesmaid at my bridesmaids weddings and we had to help set some things up, like signs or gifts etc, so I was expecting the same here, but they have dedicated staff to help decorate with your pictures etc. The communication was exceptional, the food was incredible and every part of the event was perfect due to their attention to detail. The grounds and venue itself are beautiful. Could not have asked for a better experience and am so grateful we ended up getting married here. Thank you to the WHC team for making our dreams come true!

y the day. We’re endlessly grateful to y’all! :’) Our wonderful experience started with Karen, who showed us the venue and talked through all our options for planning the perfect event. Her vendor recommendations were top-tier and we’re so grateful for her guidance as we picked our venue. We then worked with Lauren to plan all the details in the months leading up to the event. Lauren is AMAZING!! Incredibly detail-oriented and so patient as we thought through different options (ranging from add-ons, to our menu, to decor). She’s a delight to work with, and we’re so grateful that she was in our corner in the months leading up to the wedding. As the date approached, we worked closely with Lynda, who was amazing in ensuring that the wedding week went smoothly. She has an incredible eye for detail, arranging our wedding decor beautifully and helping us stay organized as we wrangled alcohol deliveries and last-minute details. As the ceremony time approached, Mark stepped in. He is phenomenal! Mark kept us on schedule and calm, wrangling guests and ensuring that everything was in place for a great night. The bartenders and other staff were amazing as well! Thanks for taking such great care of our guests! :) TLDR: if you’re on the fence about having your wedding at Overhills- this is your sign! The venue is gorgeous, the food is amazing, and the team is the best you could wish for. It takes a village to plan a wedding, and I’m so grateful for ours :)

She was super friendly and helpful. As the coordinator, she helped facilitate such a smooth ceremony and reception. I didn't have to worry about a thing. The food is AMAZING. Lauren made our cake, and it was delicious and beautiful. We upgraded to the dessert bar, and so many people complemented the Apple Strussel. The space is perfect, too. When the music got too much for some of the older guests, they were comfortable outside and still felt a part of the day. Our wedding day was perfect, and I am so thankful for all of the staff at Overhills for making the day so special!

Mark, our day-of coordinator, was extremely organized and had everything where it needed to be at the perfect time. Lynda, our wedding planner, was very thorough and helped us coordinate every detail, down to the placement of our decorations. The food is excellent. For our entree, we had a duet of rockfish and Chesapeake chicken for our reception. All of our family and friends raved about the quality of the food and enjoyed their experience. Overhills is a beautiful venue, and their staff made our wedding the greatest day of our lives. We can’t thank them enough!

Even my husband, who had not really cared much about a wedding, but would have been content with a courthouse wedding said that he had a great time and was really happy we had the wedding and loved the venue! We will be forever grateful and happy for our decision to get married at Overhills Mansion!

It was absolutely incredible. The staff even packed up nice to-go containers for me and the groom as well as some of our guests who requested them. Overhills was incredibly easy to work with and so accommodating.

e venue. We fell in love with the space — it was absolutely beautiful. Simple but elegant, which fit our vision for our wedding. Anyway, I can go on and on about Overhills because we loved them so much. But here are some highlights: 1. Communication: We worked with Lauren, Lynda and Mark. Lynda was actually our wedding planner and Mark was our day of coordinator. They were all so amazing and quick to respond to any of our questions. They made sure our day went as planned and it did! 2. The food: We loved our menu and so did our guests! There were a lot of food options and everything was seasonal and fresh. We got the lamb and salmon, cooked to perfection. Overhills actually hosts menu tastings each month, which you can attend as part of your package. We were able to go to two tasting nights as part of our package and try out different selections. Those tasting nights were so fun, and we actually plan on attending more in the future just for a date night. 3. Great value: We ultimately chose Overhills because you get a lot of bang for your buck. You get an on-site event planner, which really helped us with the smallest details. We didn't have to stress about the linens, glassware, tables, chairs, etc. - they had a lot of options you can choose from. You also get plenty of time at the venue which made things really convenient if you plan on getting ready there. All in all, Overhills is a fantastic wedding venue! We're so glad we went with them!

day of. Having to postpone due to the pandemic was devestating, and the staff at Overhills was graceful and understanding, and made us reassured that we would still get our day. Lynda is FANTASTIC. She was patient, helpful, responsive, organized, and put my husband and I completely at ease the day of our wedding. I had complete faith in her making our wedding dream into reality. Overhills provided a place for us to get ready the day of, including private suites and snacks/drinks to make us comfortable as we prepared. She helped decorate for the ceremony and reception and completely captured my vision. The dinner was delicious -- locally sourced and beautifully prepared (we had butternut squash soup, pumpkin-encrusted trout, steak, green beans and smashed gouda potatoes). Their coordination with all of our other vendors was flawless. If there were ever any issues the day of, Lynda handled them without my knowledge of there ever being an issue! We got married on New Years Eve and Overhills went above and beyond a "typical" wedding ceremony & reception to make our wedding truly one of a kind! I could go on and on about what a truly awesome venue Overhills is; you will not be disappointed.
