Patrick Pope was awesome. Patrick helped us with way more than just taking a couple pictures. He was a great sounding board for thoughts that we had with our wedding and he gave ...
feedback on things we might want to do so that he could capture one of the most important days of our lives. He was very upfront with the way he likes to work throughout the day and made sure we were comforted in knowing he would capture the moments that will be with us for the rest of our lives. We got our pictures back and were blown away at the beauty in each of the pictures. He really did put the entire story of our wedding day in to pictures. We will definitely be hanging a few of these pictures up around the house so we will be reminded of Patrick’s amazing talent for many years to come. Absolutely zero regrets in selecting Patrick and we cannot thank him enough for the work he did at our wedding. Patrick’s assistant/second shooter, Scarlet, was amazing as well…she was a huge help with setting-up shots (especially in the rain) and capturing the special moments of our wedding.
We knew from the early stages of planning our wedding day that the photographs where going to be one of the most important aspects of the day to us. We wanted real, candid moments ...
that would enhance our memories of the day for years to come. We met Patrick at a Bridal Show about a year out from our wedding. As soon as we talked with Patrick we knew he was the photographer for us! His style was and is exactly what we wanted. Patrick puts his focus on the people and the special moments of the day.
Patrick was absolutely outstanding the day of our wedding and before. We chatted via email a few times before the day to make sure we were on the same page about the timeline. Quick and simple was the mission - we did not want to spend a great deal of time on the posted photos - We wanted to maximize our time with Patrick on the candid moments.
The day of, working with Patrick was outstanding. He arrived to the location early to decide what areas of the grounds would be the best for any posed moments. He was exceptionally calming and helpful in getting the best reaction from everyone. Also, he did all this in the SCORCHING heat!
We asked Patrick for a few advance peeks so we could use a photo or two as part of our thank you cards and he was able to provide us with about 10 and we are just blown away! Just in these 10 photos, we are beyond thrilled! This teaser has made us so excited for all the rest that are soon to come! If you are considering wedding photographers, talk with Patrick, you will not be disappointed.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Patrick and what he brought to our wedding day and how very excited we are at the exceptional job he did capturing the memories of our wedding day.
Patrick was a great photographer! Our photos turned out amazing and Patrick was so much fun to work with. Would definitely recommend him!
Patrick is an amazing person and photographer and if you don't book him, that's your loss! Aside from the dress, booking a good photographer was my #1 priority. Patrick does an e...
xceptional job at capturing the memories of the day, and that is exactly what I was looking for. He will do some posed formal shots, which are great too, but mostly he does more documentary style shots that really preserve the essence of the day. When you remember back at the day years from now, will the best memory be of everyone lining up and saying "cheese" for the camera? I feel it's better to capture the memories of people smiling naturally as they interact with their friends and family around them, which is why I can't say enough great things about Patrick, because that's exactly what he does. He is an energetic guy that almost bounces around just to make sure he's at the right angle to get the perfect shot. Since he does focus on natural moments, everything is easier. Our engagement session was so much fun, he would tell us to go over there and just interact normally while he would be at a little distance and take the pictures. Since we had the 2nd photographer for the wedding day pictures, I really feel that we were able to capture so many more priceless memories. For example, pre-wedding they split up for a bit so that one was with me and the girls and the other was with the groom and the guys. His assistant was also able to help us arrange for some more "informal" formal shots, which are totally awesome alternatives to the straight line up formals. I could go on and on and on about how amazing I think he is and how helpful and friendly and optimistic he is, but anybody considering Patrick should go look at his website to check out some of his pictures and then contact him to set up a time where you can go sit down with him and you'll find out for yourself how awesome he is. Booking Patrick was definitely the best wedding planning decision we made!
We met Patrick at a wedding show and we fell in love with his philosophy. He is all about capturing the day and not posing which is exactly what we wanted. He works a lot with bl...
ack and white and was super fun to work with. He knew what he wanted at certain locations but also listened to what we wanted. He was very nice and fun to work with. We are loving how the pictures are turning out! Wouldn't change a thing about them!
Patrick and Carol did a wonderful job at our daughters wedding. Prior to the wedding, Patrick took engagement photos which he made into a guest book. The photos were beautiful and ...
we received so many compliments on the guestbook. Patrick and Carol worked the entire day of the wedding and were snapping pictures the whole time. It was a pleasure to work with them.
Patrick did a great job with both our engagement photos and on our wedding day he and Carol were fantastic.
I loved working with Patrick. Very personable. It was important for me to work with someone who was comfortable doing unposed photography. We loved our engagement session, our f...
irst few wedding pictures and we can't wait to see the rest.
Patrick and Carol were amazing! I had my photos soon after my honeymoon and they looked amazing!
Professional and exceptional quality, especially black and white's.
I met Patrick at the Wedding Show and, after meeting with multiple photographers and Patrick the week after the show, decided he was the one. Now I wish I didn't put so much faith ...
into that meeting, nor into the blogs or email blasts about the quality of photos I would receive. Before hiring Patrick Pope Photography, I should have been sure that the version of our story we wanted told followed the exact same story told in all the other weddings posted on his website. Even being clear that our personal story had some variation and paying a substantial amount of money for it, we got the version of our story that the photographer wanted to tell, over what we had emphasized was our story. We didn't get to choose what photos we wanted to process or keep; we didn't even get to see all of them. We didn't get to see 400 of them, just the 800 the photographer selected to give us. Out of those 800 plus photos, two photographers and numerous email communications, we have four quality shots we asked for. Instead, we have eight awesome photos an empty church, but none of the groom and either of his parents, my dad and I before the ceremony, the groomsmen paired with the bridesmaids, etc. We have 20 okay shots of people outside the church after the wedding - like a closeup of my nephew picking his nose and another of my friend's son crying - but none of the bridal party recessing out or the receiving line (one of the reasons we hired additional photographer since we knew the difficulty in being two places at once.) In my emails, I stated that having a few family potraits were THE MOST important aspect of the wedding to me. I told him that my huband and I wanted those over individual posed pictures of ourselves. The photographer reassured my panic, telling me it would be okay. When the pictures we had asked for were taken and turned out poorly, the photographer told my husband that it wasn't his responsibility to make sure those shots we good. Even in the photos we like, members of the bridal party are clearly blocked. Luckily, we do have a few shots of us all visible. We don’t have a shot of a single one of each guest table as we had asked for. During the reception, when I inquired about those photos, the photographer told me they were finished with them. Instead, what I have is a shot overview from both doorways of the entire room – which is nice, except you can’t see past the first three tables. We stated we thought having the extra photographer would be helpful covering those prior to signing the contract, so we hired her for the reception as well. Instead of those, or pictures of my husband's parents, or our grandparents, etc, we got seven pictures of the cake by itself, five of our champagne flutes, four of the gift table, three of pie, etc. Again, we weren't aware we wouldn't get to select which photos were processed and finished. When I pointed out that I had emphasized people were our story, not objects, he told me that just because I emphasized something important, did not mean it would be shot, because the photographer is not contractually obligated. When I inquired why priority was given to photos we said we didn’t want and not the ones we did, his response indicated he had to think of how to promote himself for more business when shooting weddings. I became upset because I didn't understand how anyone would hire a photographer if said photographer wasn't going to make the photos the bride and groom wanted the number one priority.

ortant because it makes your smile more natural. When we returned from our honeymoon, he already had 6 pictures posted on his website for us. He really is overachieving and definitely not overpriced! (we saw some photographers asking for $6000 at the wedding shows). Highly recommend!
A friend gave me a bunch of flyers from various businesses she had gotten from a wedding show, we were in search for a photographer. We checked out several different photographers....
We immediately wanted Pope photography, not only was the price reasonable but the shots weren't cheesey 100% posed photos. Our wedding was a lot of fun, the wedding party and all of the guests kept commenting on how friendly, fun and professional the photographers were. We got a disk of photos in about 2 weeks and we were thrilled at how they turned out. We would definitely reccomend Patrick.
We met Patrick at a wedding show and was immediately impressed with his photography and professionalism. We picked a package that included an engagement session and we had so much...
fun during the session. Patrick takes photos using a variety of different techniques and styles. It was very fun and relaxed.
The best thing about Patrick was that he was willing to work within our budget and still give us a very good package. We even got the CD with all of our images formatted for print and email, along with the copyright release.
On the wedding day, we didn't even notice he was there until after the ceremony! With my large family, I was worried about the photos taking a long time but Patrick made it very quick and painless. We even went to Forest Park afterward for some more casual shots.
I would highly recommend Patrick to any one for any occasion. I'm sure we will be using him again in the future!
