This quartet played beautifully and worked together with me to choose music that was meaningful to me and my family for my wedding ceremony. It meant a lot to me to have custom music and they were very flexible to learn new songs for our ceremo...
ny! They sounded amazing in the space. They also worked together very well with our friend who sang during our ceremony and were flexible to incorporate her. Thank you so much!!!

We worked with Ptarmigan String Quartet for our ceremony and cocktail hour music at the Denver Botanic Gardens Woodland Mosaic. Vicki was super nice and friendly in communications through email. We chose them because of the wide variety of song...
s they had available. We wanted something a little different, and incorporated the Beatles, the Beach Boys, etc. Everything sounded amazing! Having the live strings really elevated the emotions.
My one recommendation to the musicians would be to implement some sort of online music request form and payment system for clients. We filled out a multi-page worksheet packet for the ceremony songs and had to mail a check for payment. Electronic would be much easier and more efficient! Just a friendly suggestion. So happy we went with them though! It was really worth the extra cost and planning involved to have their music at our wedding. Thanks Ptarmigan! :)

We used Ptarmigan's string trio option for our wedding ceremony. They play beautiful music, have a large selection of songs they can play, and are very organized. I wanted to give them a higher review because their music is beautifully played a...
nd I'm sure they have had many flawless events, but they were the vendor that caused us the most stress in the week leading up to our wedding.
They were pretty demanding... in months leading up the wedding, they requested a canopy (an additional expense for us that we did not anticipate), because they said if they were playing outside, it was absolutely necessary that they be in the shade. The spot they were playing from was shaded by trees, but they required us to purchase the tent. In my opinion, they should just have their own tent & provide it to all customers, as I'm sure this is a common occurrence. The other issue they raised, which caused us SO much stress the week of the wedding, was that when the weather took a turn to be a little colder than we expected (in the mid 50s), they threatened not to play. They said we needed to provide sides for the tent and space heaters. This was absolutely absurd in my opinion, and completely unprofessional to put such a burden on me and my family so close to the wedding. They raised this issue 2 DAYS before the wedding, and we had to scramble to accommodate them.
Vicki did attend our rehearsal, which was nice. The day of the wedding, everything went beautifully, and the music sounded wonderful. Overall, they are a nice group who play beautiful music; I just wish we hadn't had such stressful interactions.

Overall, I'm very happy with our decision to use Ptarmigan String Quartet! They have a great music selection available and played everything that we requested. Although a musician couldn't attend our rehearsal due to a family emergency, they st...
ill offered to come, which I thought was very nice! Our venue offered a place for them to sit and be shaded, which was convenient, and they bring a microphone to help amplify the music (though you have to make sure there's someone there to monitor the audio, which was our DJ). Vicki, our contact was very nice and organized through the whole process, and was great with communication! We had a great experience with Ptarmigan String Quartet!

Ptarmigan String quartet played music for our wedding ceremony in July and the music that they played sounded great. They even learned a song for us that wasn't on their list. We felt that overall they asked us too many questions in attempt to ...
be thorough (their application was over 12 pages and SUPER detailed), which stressed us out. Our biggest concern was that they didn't hear our officiant say the exact wording in her script at the end of the ceremony and therefore they did not play our recessional song right away. Instead of just eventually playing the song, 1 person in the quartet yelled out "you haven't said they're married" which was completely unprofessional and embarrassing to us as a couple that was in fact just introduced to our guests as married.

jigs. I'll say this: they are very professional and took all my song requests in stride and executed them well. However, the fact that they require a 10'x10' canopy if they're outside (which is often the case for ceremonies), but don't own one and can't get one -- means either a huge extra rental cost for me, or a significant amount of time/labor devoted to borrowing one and setting it up (I opted for the latter). And then I had a bridesmaid come to me saying they were requesting for it to be set up on the other side of the altar, even though there was no space for the canopy there. I really don't need more details to worry about, especially since they ended up unable to sent someone to rehearsal (as promised online). Just something to consider. I would assume a professional group would come with all the equipment they'd need.

emony and cocktail hour--and were delighted when we found this quartet. We had numerous guests come up to us and compliment their beautiful playing. Vicki, my contact, was extremely organized and stayed on top of all the details throughout the planning process, which certainly came in handy on the day of the wedding when I had little time to help with specifics. They were very reasonably priced, which we appreciated, and even catered to a few musical requests I had made. Overall, we were very pleased!
