At Special Days, we take your wedding preparations off your shoulders but never out of your hands. Special Days offers all services for your wedding from day-of to full coordination for up to a year in advance. No matter if you are having an intimate service for two or a large wedding and reception for 500, Special Days can make your day perfect. I believe that each couple has their own unique love story and I will work with you to make your wedding reflect this. No two weddings are ever the same. As your wedding and event planner, my job is to implement and manage all aspects of your special day. Two months later, I am still reeling from a wonderful event! My husband and I were *finally* able to have our wedding celebration on 10/02/21 in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Let me just start off by saying Mel and her team absolutely MADE my day. My husband and I had to change plans several times in the midst of the pandemic; we ultimately shifted to having a beach wedding in OIB. We found Mel at the recommendation of our vendor. From the beginning, Mel was involved, responsive, and so so helpful. She was proactive, came to meet us as we toured our venue, and continuously kept us on point. She was reassuring and kind. We rented our venue for the week, so we had a beach front wedding. We brought a TON of decor. Mel came over a few days before the wedding to take inventory. She showed up at the rehearsal and gave everyone their cues. The day of - I cannot say enough - I truly had nothing to worry about. She kept a bunch of marines in life (which is a real feat). She asked me one or two questions on minor decor details, but otherwise she worked hard behind the scenes, and she and her team NAILED it. Everything looked great. Everything ran smoothly. She was a gem. She is a wonderful person and professional. We loved every aspect of our wedding, but Mel was vital in making our day as relaxing and beautiful as it was.

Mel and her awesome crew from Special Days Wedding and Events, LLC, MADE OUR WEDDING NIGHT!!!! They were quick in set up and transitioning from moment to moment, making a smooth flowing event. If they needed to improvise to make decor stand out they did so with great success. They kept the entire event moving along all the way to clean up and break down of the decorations and food station. Considering I did a DIY wedding, they made all of the planning worth while and brought the vision to life!! Mel directed me with such confidence being a first time bride, through all of the intricate moments I knew nothing about. I had not one single worry the entire night. Thank you to all of the crew especially Mel for everything!!! Fantastic job!!! I would recommend them for your special event anytime.

Mel was wonderful and helped make our day perfect! She helped organize the rehearsal and was very friendly and lovely to work with. She helped me plan a timeline, communicated with my vendors and did many behind the scenes tasks necessary to pull off the perfect beach wedding at The Isles. The whole weekend went off without a hitch, thanks to Mel! You'd be lucky to have Mel be part of your wedding.

Mel O'Daniels was a wonderful wedding planner. She is attentive and structured. She has a lot of experience and helped us pull off an amazing weekend wedding even though Hurricane Florence blew through town just 4 days prior. Mel is not afraid to think "outside the box".

We cannot express how ecstatic we were with Mel and her team at Special Days. My mom met Mel at a bridal expo and as soon as she reached out to us, we knew she was the one. Planning a wedding in North Carolina while living in California is not an easy task and we really had to find a person we could trust to execute our ideal wedding. We let Mel know what our vision was and she went to work. We wanted a wedding at the beach in a house that we could also stay in for the week of the wedding. Mel found us the most perfect house, the Memory Maker in Ocean Isle Beach. We wanted a low country boil. Mel found us a delicious caterer, Costal Catering. We wanted specific flower arrangements. Mel found the right florist, Calabash florist, and built a beautiful arbor for us to get married under on the beach. We wanted perfect weather. Mel made sure that the weather was perfect and the moon was full :-) !!!!!! You get the picture and speaking of pictures, Darlene, at Timeless Memories was also a dream to work with. We could not have done this without Mel. She works with a great team and they were on top of everything making sure we had no worries on our big day. She dealt with the typical wedding guest drama with ease. Very professional and organized. Can't recommend her enough!
