indoor greenhouse space (the planned venue for the wedding) had failed fire inspection and they wouldn't be able to host events there. They planned on building another permanent structure, so we decided to stick with them. In April they then called us to inform us that the building they had planned to build was too expensive due to tariffs and that they could only offer us a white tent for an outdoor reception. We said we didn't think that would work because it was a November wedding. They told us that then we could cancel for a full refund. We were luckily able to scramble and find another venue, and had secured it with a deposit. This took us about two weeks. We then called Bennett's back to cancel and refund, and they said "Oh by the way, we got a temporary permit from the fire department to continue weddings inside through 2025". At that point, it was too late as we had already put money down on a new venue, and frankly we did not trust them to execute our wedding after the gross lack of compassion and customer service that they showed. They essentially told us we had to cancel our wedding with them and gave us no other options less than 6 months from our wedding day. Then told us (after we reached out 2 weeks later) that it was okay and we could have pur wedding there. We felt that the whole situation was a bait and switch and we were not satisfied with how they handled the situation at all.
