Dave was all we could have asked for and more. He was supportive throughout our planning process. His communication was top notch. He ensured that the ceremony, dinner, and dancing music was in line with our tastes. He always asked for our ideas, preferences, and thoughts, but had a knack for knowing when we could use his expertise. Not only was Dave outstanding throughout the planning process, he brought the energy and top-level service to our wedding day. He continued to display his strong communication skills by working with the coordinator and officiant. He was also a great, calming presence on a day that can be filled with anxiety. In the dancing portion of the evening, Dave really brought the house down. He really knows how to keep a party going. Our guests are still raving about how much fun the music was - 3 months later. I couldn't recommend Dave enough.

Dave was incredible! He was so much fun, knew exactly what we wanted, and made the planning process so easy. We've heard rave reviews from our guests, and we absolutely echo them, from every roof top!! My husband is not a dancer, yet was out on the floor all night! Stop looking and book Dave now! With all the planning a wedding entails, this made the process easier. Dave is an absolute professional and you should look no further if you need a wedding DJ! I had fully accepted that we might not have the liveliest dance floor due to a mixed crowd, but to my surprise he kept everyone on the dance floor the entire night by playing to the crowd (while still respecting our pre/determined requests) and we couldn’t have been happier with how the evening went. He made sure we were right on track when planning and was so patient with us the entire time, as we were very indecisive. We got a lot of compliments about how great our DJ was and I am not surprised based on his reputation. I will absolutely recommend him to everyone!

Dave was seriously the BEST DJ we could have imagined!! He is so thorough in his work and was super responsive leading up to our wedding this past August. We LOVE DJ Dave! Our guests could not stop talking about how much fun our wedding was and how they had such a great time on the dancefloor. Dave made planning an absolute breeze. We hired Dave for our august 2022 wedding at wychmere harbor and have absolutely no regrets! DAVE KNOWS HOW TO GET THE PARTY STARTED AND KEEP GOING ON AND ON! Dave is PHENOMENAL. I thought we had a mixed dancing crowd at our wedding, but I don’t think anyone sat down all night! He played songs that everyone knew and could dance to, totally read the room, made announcements when we asked him to (for group pictures and whatnot) and was SO easy to work with. One of our family members had a lot of requests for songs (some of which my husband and I were less than thrilled about)… we talked to Dave about this beforehand and day of the wedding he handled it absolutely perfectly. He asked our family member to write down a song whenever he thought of one, and made an effort to play the songs that fit the vibe. It was absolutely perfect because the party continued and the person felt validated and included, which meant so much to us. We could not recommend Dave more!

We chose 5 star events to DJ our wedding at Wychmere and had the pleasure of working with Dave. By far Dave was the best vendor of ours to work with. We started wedding planning December 2019 and spent hours searching for the right DJ. After inquiring with Dave, it was a no brainer that he would be the perfect fit. Shortly after booking, we unfortunately had to post pone our wedding, not once, but twice. Dave was more than flexible and made this process seamless. Fast forward to December 2021, and the final planning process was very easy going when making music selections. Dave had plenty of recommendations and suggestions which was super helpful. Once wedding day came, everything flowed very nicely from ceremony to reception. The second dinner was over Dave had people on the dance floor until the very last minute of our wedding. He did not disappoint. We can’t recommend choosing Dave enough as he massively exceeded our expectations. He was very a very personable person and great to work with!!

My fiance and I had the pleasure of working with Dave from 5 Star Events as our wedding DJ. From the minute we began working with him, he was extremely professional, responsive and helpful. Then, COVID hit and we made the difficult decision to postpone. Dave was EXTREMELY flexible and understanding. Once we let him know our new date (and new venue) he remained flexible and attentive to what we wanted. He continued to be so easy to work with and spent time with us on the phone before our wedding day, helping us with the flow of the evening and various songs for each part of the night. Once the night began, he was awesome start to finish. The dance floor was packed all night and he really knew how to work the room. It's impossible to keep track of how many guests said our wedding was a blast, in large part to the great work done by Dave! DJ Dave Hodges was incredible to work with! We needed to postpone our wedding 1 year due to Covid, which required a lot of work to cancel and reschedule all of our vendors for our revised wedding date. Dave was so flexible, responsive and willing to work with us through all of it. He made the experience so easy, listened to what we wanted and delivered exactly what we were looking for. Our dancefloor was packed the entire time, all due to Dave's ability to read the room, and his awesome music selection. We would recommend him to anyone looking for a great DJ in the Cape Cod area!

Dave Hodges was the best DJ ever! We booked Dave as our DJ for our wedding at Shining Tides in 2019. After our first phone call, we knew immediately that we wanted to have him DJ our wedding. He is professional, has years of experience, and is so relaxed and chill, we loved his vibe! My husband and I both loved working with Dave throughout the past 2+ years. When we decided to postpone in 2020, he was quick to make the rescheduling easy to do for August 2021. Picking our songs for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing was easy with Dave's platform. I felt like after Dave took a look at our song choices he knew exactly what to play all night. Our dance floor was PACKED as soon as he announced the floor was open! Dave read the crowd and knew exactly what to play next to keep the party going. I swear I thought the dance floor was going to break. Thank you Dave for everything, the night could not have been more perfect!!

Dave is fantastic! We knew of Dave because he was the DJ for my sister-in-law who was married 7 months before us and that wedding was awesome. And sure enough, he did a great job for our wedding too. Not only did he provide the music for the reception, but he also coordinated the music for our ceremony - which was perfect. He was easy to work with and he gave great advice throughout the months leading up to our wedding. His online wedding planning tool is also very easy to use. I had the utmost confidence that he could read the crowd and play all the right songs to keep the dancing going - and he did just that. All of our guests raved about how much fun they had. Dave was the best DJ. He made the process of choosing a DJ so easy. From the very first time we met, I knew he would be wonderful to work with. During the process, he answered my many questions regarding music choices and was awesome at recommending songs. During the ceremony and reception, he was great at choosing music for us in places we were unsure of, and it totally matched our taste. He also respected our wishes when it came to music genres and not playing certain songs. I am so happy we chose him! We had so many compliments on the music and everyone had such a great time.

Dave Hodges was the DJ for my daughter’s wedding on December 29, 2018, and the dance floor was packed for the entire length of the reception! From the first time my daughter spoke to Dave through the wedding night, he was informative , personable, reliable, and true to his word. Dave played what the couple wanted, kept a perfect flow to the reception, and never took the spotlight off of them. I highly recommend Dave for any event requiring a DJ. My own feet still hurt after 2 days because every time I tried to sit down and rest , another favorite song would play and force me to dance! Even our guests who consider themselves non-dancers found it impossible to resist dancing!! Absolutely wonderful vendor!!!

Dave Hodges was the DJ for our wedding at Wychmere on 8/4/18 and he was excellent!!! He was one of our favorite vendors and we would very highly recommend him. Leading up to the wedding, he was fantastic to work with - so relaxed, patient, and flexible. He offered great suggestions and ideas we hadn't thought about. He listened carefully and was responsive to our needs and concerns. During the time when we were planning our wedding, we attended a friend's wedding where we felt the music and evening ended abruptly. This freaked us out so we told Dave about the experience; he assured us that was very different from what he does and talked us through his approach to wind down the evening (which he executed perfectly!!! We were so impressed with how he closed out the night - I still remember everyone on the dance floor with us and singing along to the final few songs). Throughout our wedding, our guests were on the dance floor the entire time! Dave played a perfect mix of music to keep the crowd up and dancing and having fun. He was very in tune to the crowd and the event. He is not a flashy / obnoxious DJ, which we appreciated. His focus is on playing great music and keeping the party going!! One small thoughtful detail (before the dancing started) that I loved - during my dad's speech, he briefly mentioned Peter, Paul, and Mary in one of the memories that he shared. Dave picked up on this and transitioned seamlessly into a PPM song as we were hugging my dad and the next course was being served. The evening was perfect and Dave was a huge part of this as he kept the crowd up dancing and having the best time. We were so happy and would very highly recommend Dave!!

I have to say one of the biggest challenges my wife (Kim) and I faced in our wedding planning was deciding on a DJ. My wife started talking with Dave via email and then had a chance to talk over the phone helping her by answering some questions we had prior to meeting and she noticed right away how comfortable he made her feel. Shortly after we had a chance to met in person to go over some more details and Dave answered all of our questions and had a very caring, down to earth personality. Dave is very professional and we are so happy we choose him. He always had song suggestions and ideas and was happy to help. For you brides to be, look no further. We were able to come up with a list of a few of our favorite songs and he was able to get a good idea of what kind of music we liked to keep the party going! I also remember him checking in with us before our main introductions to see how long we wanted to do our first dance for which we thought was nice since we were unsure beforehand. One of our goals was to keep everyone on the dance floor as much as possible and Dave was able to do just that with our requests and some others had as well. Dave helped make our day everything we could have asked for and we'll always remember that. I hope he had a chance to enjoy the day as much as we did! Working with Dave Hodges from 5 Star Events was such a pleasure. We were from out of state and he was very accommodating to speak with us over phone/emails to go through all the details. We met with him in person for the first time a week before the wedding, he was very professional and organized. Dave made sure to go through the whole timeline and go through the song list to make sure we were all on the same page. 5 Star Events has a very easy system to work with online to add your must play songs and to specify when you want a certain song to play during the reception. Dave Hodges was the best DJ I have ever encountered at wedding and especially my own! He was so helpful and personable to work with. I highly recommend Dave Hodges at 5 Star Events! Dave was friendly and easy to work with. We met in person before signing the contract, which was a great way to get to know each other. Their website was easy to use to pick out our songs and document our timeline. Dave had great recommendations during the planning process and accommodated the different tastes in music that my husband and I had as well as our guests. The whole night flowed smoothly and our guests had a great time dancing! I also wanted to mention that Dave even went out of his way to edit a song my brother wanted to use to propose to his girlfriend. Dave and 5 Star Events truly care about their clients, and they are great at what they do!

Greg truly runs a 5 star event. Greg was not only the most responsive vendor we worked with, he is so professional and courteous. His sound equipment is excellent and everything sounded perfect. 5 Star Events also provided uplighting for us and was the most reasonably priced we could find. Greg is not an MC getting on the mic constantly, he makes the day all about you with great music. He has a very extensive music database, which I have noticed from friends' weddings that not every DJ has as up to date music as Greg has. Anytime my husband or I put in a music request, it was always the next to be played or he'd even fade out the current song he was playing. The dance floor was packed all night and everyone had such a blast! My friend who is in a band that plays weddings was even raving about Greg's style and equipment. We could not be happier and will definitely use him again if we have any other events. I highly recommend that you book this DJ!

We hired Greg for our wedding a year and a half ahead of time, and after our event last Friday, I can pat our past selves on the back for the decision. Greg was very responsive from our first email onward and made sure we had everything we needed. We never thought of us or our friends as dancers but because of Greg we cut up the dance floor for hours and were so glad we could. Add in his very reasonable rates and you got yourself your DJ.

Greg and 5 Star Events were the perfect choice for us for our New Year's Eve Wedding. From the original call with Greg to the very last moments of the evening, Greg was extremely professional and accommodating. Our guests were, literally, dancing all night long. We also used Greg for a monogram which came out excellent and received many positive comments from our guests. All in all... Greg and his group are a sure bet!

Dave was the DJ at our wedding in October and he was great! Everyone had an awesome time and he incorporated all our different kind of music perfectly. Everyone was on the dance floor all night! We couldn't have asked for a better DJ! They also have an awesome online system where you pick all your songs! It's so easy to use and made picking wedding songs so much fun! Dave also did a special request for us by splitting our first dance song, and he did it fantastically. I would highly recommend him!!

Greg did a fantastic job providing the music at our ceremony and dj-ing our reception. My husband is a self proclaimed music snob (he had been making a "must play" and "do not play" list since before we even got engaged). So I put him in charge of finding a DJ. He contacted a lot of potential DJs, and complained that he just wanted to find someone normal and laid back, who would keep the dance floor packed. And once he talked to Greg, he knew he had found that. Greg worked with him to make sure all the must plays were there, and gave him feedback on how to make sure the dance floor stayed crowded throughout the night. Which it did! Everyone was dancing and having a great time throughout the reception. Greg was great, professional, and easy to work with throughout. Greg also has great and easy to use equipment especially wireless mics and speakers for the ceremony so everybody can hear everything. We loved Greg because of the quality of his work but also that he was just a regular guy with none of that used car salesman feel that you can get from other DJs. We would highly recommend him!

Greg did an amazing job keeping tons of people on the dance floor through the very end of the night! He is excellent at reading the crowd and playing exactly what will keep people going or give them the slow-down break that they need. We had SO MUCH FUN at our reception in big part thanks to Greg and danced even more than we planned to. He was excellent at keeping it all very classy (what we asked for) and was right on with a few very specific timing requests for music transitions at the end of our father daughter dance. The bonus is that he is a tech nerd through and through and builds his own state-of-the-art sound systems that truly sound amazing both indoors and outdoors. Thank you so much Greg!

We had a great experience with 5 Star Events from start to finish. Couldn’t have asked for a more friendly, professional, and easy-going vendor to work with. I was initially a little bit worried about our wedding music because I tend to really dislike some classic dance/party music like Love Shack, YMCA, etc. But Dave talked to us multiple times before our wedding to ensure he had a very good idea of our personalities and music tastes. The client interface was really easy to use. There were three lists that we were encouraged to use: must play, maybe play, and do not play. This helped Greg to get an even better idea of our music preference. In all, the music and the MCing went great! I had multiple guests come up to me both during and after the wedding to tell me how great the music was. Our dance floor was packed from the first song to the last. Also elected to include the uplighting option and it added just enough sparkle to our venue. Can’t recommend 5 Star Events, and Dave Hodges, enough.

We hired Greg Hodges of Five Star Events and could not have picked a better DJ! Before even meeting him, I was impressed with the honesty and clarity he conveyed on his website, and was not disappointed during our consultation. Greg is so personable, and knows the business inside and out. I was very overwhelmed with all of the detail involved in wedding planning, but he jumped right in with suggestions for different music selections, advice about different things such as the introductions and centerpiece distributions, and patiently dealt with any questions and delays. He coordinated with our venue, and everything went off without a hitch on the day of the wedding. We had a diverse guest list, age-wise, and Greg played such a great variety of music, everyone was happy. The dance floor had a ton of activity, and he was happy to play requests. My husband & I were told by several people that they had more fun at our wedding than any other they had attended! I would not hesitate to recommend Greg to anyone looking for a DJ, whatever the event!

We feel so fortunate to have had Greg as our DJ. Right from the start, he was professional and reliable. He answered emails promptly and was very willing to meet in person to discuss details. I strongly recommend 5 Star Events DJ services. Greg Hodges was my hero! As a dancer, singer/actress, etc. music is a huge part of my life. From the first phone call conversation, I had a wonderful feeling about working with Greg. He is a great listener, and genuinely cared about bringing my musical vision to life for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. His patience and hard work are stellar. He has a huge music collection, and was open to sharing music files via Dropbox for specific Jewish songs, tangos, showtunes, etc that I wanted to have played. His website was easy to use. When my computer became ill, he was kind enough to track down some of the songs that I could not upload properly. I hope to work with Greg again in the future, and am certain you would love 5 Star Events too!

Greg Hodges was an absolute joy to work with--within minutes of our first phone conversation, we felt as though we were talking to an old friend. Since our first contact with him via email, he has been so responsive, helpful, and extremely reliable. He has many years of experience and has developed great relationships with the venues and vendors in the area. As such, he was able to offer advice on everything, even something like which part of our venue would be best to hold the cocktail hour. On the day of our wedding, Greg arrived early and with a smile on his face. He kept things moving seamlessly, and our dance floor was packed from before the salads were served until the very end of the last song! So many of our friends and family have raved about Greg and his mix of both old and new songs which appealed to all of our guests. We truly cannot recommend him highly enough!

What can I say about DJ Greg that hasn't been said in all the other 5 star reviews already? If I could give him 6 stars I would....we were planning our Boston wedding from Chicago and Greg did everything he could to make the process as easy as possible. After only a few phone calls he seemed to know exactly what we wanted and delivered every time. From taking small cuts of different songs and streamlining them perfectly for our introduction to just keeping the dance floor packed all night, DJ Greg was perfect. He also provided the uplighting and made the room look amazing, changing the colors as the night, and party, grew crazier! I can't even count how many of our guests said he was the best DJ they'd ever seen and how amazing the room looked. 6 stars for DJ Greg!

I was having trouble finding a DJ that I could feel comfortable with. I'm not sure why. I think it was that the ones I talked to seemed more interested in what they wanted than what we did. Greg and Dave came highly recommended by one of my other vendors. After talking with them, we knew we found the right company. Dave met with us twice before our wedding day and did a wonderful job running through everything with us. I really appreciated his organization and friendly demeanor. The online client system they use to coordinate the music for the wedding is awesome - it really lets you personalize the way the evening flows! Even at our unique venue, Dave was able to keep the night moving smoothly and everyone had a blast! Thank you!

Working with Dave was a pleasure. He was responsive, professional and organized. He also knew how to continue the flow of the music and all my guests had a blast. I would use them so any event I have.

Everyone at my wedding I spoke to said how great Dave was as a DJ (including the wedding coordinator). He had any song that I asked for, and was very helpful in the planning process, and keeping things on pace. Definitely isn't one of those crappy ALL ABOUT ME! DJs, and kept the microphone talking to a minimum. I would definitely recommend him for your wedding. I didn't really price out other DJs, except for maybe the ones that go to the tradeshows, but they seemed to be reasonably priced.

Greg was a wonderful DJ! He kept everyone at our wedding dancing all night long. He even had grest suggestions for introduction songs for the brial party when I was totally stumped. He was also really reasonably priced (in my opinion) and was a dream to work with. I would recomend him to anyone looking for a fun, professional, hard working DJ for their wedding.

We had Dave as our DJ for our wedding a few weeks ago and he was great. Dave was very organized and made sure we thought of everything during the planning process. His website for advance requests was easy to use and included everything we could think of. He accommodated all of our requests, including being sure to include some Greek dances. During the event, he kept the dance floor packed all night and made sure everyone was having a great time!

It was a pleasure to work with Greg Hodges for our wedding music. Our First Dance song was too long for our nervous footwork, so he whipped up a shorter version (by 1 minute) that was so seamless it was barely noticeable that the song had been altered at all. He was great at finding songs that we had custom-picked, and his online interface is very easy to use. He's a great, personable guy and it was very easy to contact him either over the phone or through Skype videochat. People definitely had a good time dancing at our wedding, and Greg's equipment, speakers, and digital turntable were perfect for our event.

Greg was a great DJ. I had a smaller wedding, and he had everyone up and dancing.

Loved Greg!!! He really got what kind of music we were into, was gracious and accomadating to all requests (without diverting far from what we were into). He kept the party going, was only sad when it ended :)

Greg Hodges was an absolutely wonderful DJ for our wedding. I don't like the typical songs played at most weddings, and Greg was able to customize the playlist for our wedding after giving him a sampling of the types of music I liked. He kept the mood light and fun for cocktail hour and the dance floor packed after dinner. Plus, he kept an eye out to see how people were responding to the music. I really like too that we meet the week before the wedding to go over any last minute details and he gave recommendations based on my music style for cake cutting and other events I hadn't even thought of in terms of music. He was excited about the event and made it a night to remember.
