The Retro Jukebox Band was a sincere pleasure to work with. Through covid cancellations, wild fires, etc, RJB was flexible, gracious, and professional. Not only did Geechi and his fellow musicians create an unforgettable dance floor experience, they also made our dream vision come to life by taking their instruments in hand and creating a beautiful second line procession from our ceremony site to the cocktail hour. Geechi somehow managed to interweave playing a tuba and a trumpet in the same song for this procession! We will always remember the love and soulful vibes that RJB brought to our day. Geechi and Retro JukeBox Band made our wedding incredible! We worked with Geechi through a wedding rescheduling and so many other changing details due to COVID. Geechi was flexible and collaborative through the entire process and his experience and insights helped bring our vision to life! Geechi was the perfect MC and the RJB music really kept the party going. There wasn't a moment the dance floor was empty until the venue told us it was time to close down! We are already looking forward to the next time we can work with Geechi and RJB!

We have hired Retro Jukebox Band two times (2017 and 2021) and have been beyond happy with them. Their sound is fantastic and at both events, they got everyone out on the dance floor! They are so much fun. The second party had a 20's theme, so they tailored their music to that for cocktail hour. Geechi is professional and easy to work with regarding scheduling/timing/etc. Talented, flexible and seamless.

My wife and I hired Retro JukeBox Band for our September 2018 wedding in Berkeley. While it has taken me a while to write this review, the memories of the band are still fresh. They put on an amazing show and brought an energy you just can't get from a DJ. The dance floor was packed the whole night. In the lead-up to the wedding, the band was easy to work with and accommodating in terms of learning requests. We had them play mostly Motown, funk and some contemporary hits but, based on their set list, they can also cover other genres with ease.

I attended a wedding where RJB performed and they were kind enough to both help set me up for a private performance for the bride and groom as well as were flexible in incorporating us and the groom in an impromptu performance during the dancing part of the wedding. This totally made my day as I wanted to do this for my wedding but could not afford to do so at that time. I'm so grateful to Geechi for the opportunity and will forever remember the awkwardness and excitement of performing. Hope someone recorded it!

We had not booked a band until the very last weekend before the wedding. Acting on a recommendation from the venue (Monarch Cove, Capitola), I contacted RetroJukebox. This band had as many as eight , but they can have as few as three or four, depending on the need. We had a quartet consisting of piano, stand-up bass, drums and a vocalist. The vocalist was charming, cool and smooth. With Iittle time for planning and rehearsing, they played all of the most important wedding songs and, in between, they played the coolest instrumental Jazz...just perfect for a mellow day at the beach. The vocalist, John, made sure that my daughter and son in law had all traditional songs, which made them happy. I also received many compliments on the band from the guests. Call Geechi , the-band manager and one of the lead vocalists . They are from Berkeley, Oakland and SF. I do not hesitate at all in giving them the highest rating!

We hired Retro Jukebox Band for our wedding in Marin for about 150 guests, and it was one of the best decisions we made throughout the whole process. They provided a sound setup for the ceremony, live cocktail music, and live reception dance music. From the beginning, Nicole (the band manager) was easy and pleasant to work with. She answered our questions promptly and was able to work with us on a number of logistics about where, when, and what services would be provided. For our reception, the band had our guests dancing and rocking all night. We started with some 'timeless' motown hits that every generation could enjoy, and moved towards more top-40 hits later in the evening. Geechi, the band leader and MC, is truly exceptional and has great charisma and crowd instincts. Our dance floor was hopping. At the end of the evening, everyone was having such a blast that they were requesting an encore even after the event officially ended. Despite not being able to use amplification since it was "after hours" for the venue, Geechi improvised and led the crowd in singing a personalized "unplugged" version of Stand By Me which my partner and I will remember forever. It was the perfect end to the evening and a great testament to their ability to adapt to many circumstances and help a crowd have fun. Thank you Retro Jukebox Band for making our once-in-a-lifetime event so memorable.

The Retro JukeBox Band was hands down the best decision for our reception. They had all of our friends and family out of their seats and dancing. They customized the vibe and feel of the music and were able to make our event incredibly memorable. I would hire them again in the future for a similar event without hesitation!

So professional, so responsive, so fun, and the best part....the music is fabulous. I usually have an audience from all over the world and they nailed it with the music select!! Retro JukeBox Band was an incredible part of our wedding and I couldn't recommend them more highly. Geechi, Nicole and the team really went the extra mile to make our day special. They worked with us in advance to understand our needs, made great suggestions on songs and background music, and then absolutely rocked the day-of. In particular they helped us find extra musicians to do a New Orleans style 2nd-line entrance for the groom which was a huge hit. They also made an effort to include Indian-influenced music and rhythms, which most bands cannot do on the fly. Geechi was an excellent MC during our wedding day, with exactly the right amount of talking, while still keeping us on time. In terms of actual music they were killers - they have a huge range of styles and fulfilled our request for a dance-heavy funk, R&B, and pop collection for our dance floor. I've never seen my dad dance so much, and I give most of the credit to Geechi and the band. I couldn't recommend them more highly - they are true professionals.

Retro played our wedding and made it magical! Our 90 guest wedding was held at a venue that required no amplified music. Initially we were worried about the quality of music that would be available and whether the entertainment would be heard. Our fears were instantly abated when Retro Jukebox started. The band's acoustic play was wonderful and Geechi was able to sing so well you didn't notice the lack of a microphone. We were beyond impressed and would love to have them again at a future event. We booked Retro Jukebox Band for our annual fundraising Gala. We were nervous as the crowd was very diverse in many different ways but we wanted a band who would be able to appeal to everyone and get people on the dance floor. RJB delivered exactly that, entertaining the entire crowd during their entire set and keeping the dance floor full! Beyond that, they were a pleasure to work with and very accommodating to everything we needed. Can't recommend them highly enough!

Retro JukeBox was an amazing band to have at our wedding at Ardenwood Historic Farm in Fremont. With very little work on our end, they played a great set of music that matched the crowd mood and tempo. We asked them to learn the Horah for us, which was so much fun to dance to live. They even decided to play a live rendition of Old MacDonald which was a huge hit (brunch wedding on farm with a ton of kids)! Guests could not stop complementing the band!

Retro Jukebox Band was a HIT at our Sonoma wedding. They had a great sound and were willing to work with us for many special song performances and requests. Geechi and Nicole were responsive and a pleasure to plan with from the beginning. The band has a great vibe that wedding guests of all ages loved. If you are looking for a live band that you know will make your event truly memorable look no further.

When they are good, they are really good. In fact, it was pretty unanimous that the star of the wedding (besides us) WAS the band. From ceremony, to cocktail hour, to the reception, they provided the entertainment and help the day go smoothly. They will cater to your style and put their spin on some old music favorites. Geechi, the band leader, has great charisma which attracted us in the first place. He gets everyone involved and very engaged with the audience. Even during the wedding day, he came to us just to make sure that we were all on the same page. We love this band! However, we had a little problem with communications in the beginning of the process, but once Geechi took over the handling of this, he was pretty much on top of things and we really do appreciate that! We would totally recommend them for your next event!

Our wedding reception was a record breaking 110 degrees. Most of our vendors were grumpy, but the Retro Jukebox Band was the glue that held everything together. We had so many compliments of how great Geetchi was as an MC, Musician, and DJ. Very transparent (and affordable) pricing, very organized/professional, and above all else - friendly!!! I can't thank them enough for being the highlight of our reception.

Our wedding was at the Golden Gate Club at the Presidio in SF. We chose to have a seven piece band and all expectations were surpassed! The band asked us to submit some of our favorite music and they worked in fantastic covers of so many different types of music. Everyone at the wedding was blown away and kept asking us where we found this band! I have never had so much fun dancing at a wedding and this band was the main reason. I highly recommend booking this band for any event where you want to leave an amazing impression on your guests.

To everyone (especially fathers of the bride) planning a wedding please heed my advice here. There are three core requirements in selecting a band for a wedding. Our daughter was married just this past Saturday (our first) and we had Geechi and the Retro Jukebox band play at the event. It was a stunning, over the top success and the Jukebox team was at the core of it! I've been to million dollar weddings and have to say this one was as fun and intimate as anything I've seen. This was an especially challenging affair for a band. It was an outdoor venue in Capitola overlooking the Monterrey Bay at the Monarch Cove Inn. We wanted the beach/bluff front venue as our first priority, but the venue doesn't allow amplification, and you've got the breeze, trees and the sea as background sound effects. Anyone that knows music, knows it takes real talent to sound great without amplification in an open air environment. It was an awesome affair and the band was great. There were three keys to the successful outcome with regard to the musical requirements of a wedding. 1. Sound: The band has to be great. These guys were great. Without amplification we had the place jumping with killer R&B, Jazz & Rock and Roll. The dance floor was a crowded ball of fun that included the entire cross section of attendance from the dance lovers to the wall flowers. The energy of that dance floor was like a black hole sucking everyone to it's core. 2. Timing & Organization: Don't overlook this. Your band is a key part of the synchronization of events that make an event magical. It's the hiccups and odd pauses that detract from an event. Geechi and I synched up; he gets it and has deep experience to draw on. I poke my head out my daughters threshold to look out at the crowd and instantly see Geechi's attentive gaze. I give him the thumbs up and he cues the band. Keeping eye contact throughout the processional, stepping to the beat with Geechi's head bobbing to each step; we are in-synch, en fuego. All through the event he's making sure we are in-synch and we are shooting cues back and forth. We didn't need a wedding planner; just a great band/event leader/MC and a father of the bride that knows what kind of a party he wants. 3. Charisma: Geechi's got charisma. A great band without a charismatic leader can do just fine at many venues, but not at a wedding. When you've got the ceremony, the introductions, speeches, cake ceremony, etc, you need someone to bring the energy and charisma to each new segue of the event. To all you fathers out there, heed my advice. You need these three things above and I can say the Retro Jukebox band has these ingredients in abundance. I had so much fun and I will have this band again if I am ever so fortunate to host another even like this. If I could give 6 stars to this band I would.

Retro JukeBox Band was amazing! Definitely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! For me, having a live band was one of the things I wanted most for our reception. I was very impressed by RJB's demos, but I was totally blown away by their live performance. We worked with Geechi to set up the reception and he was relaxed enough that it helped us relax as well. Feeling relaxed was an added bonus, and if you're planning a wedding you'll know what a luxury that is! We worked with RJB in a few ways: a smaller group played jazz during our cocktail hour (we loved it!), then Geechi emceed our introductions masterfully (not an easy job when your family is a mix of difficult Greek, Indian, and Filipino names...), and then the RJB septet brought the house down during our reception. We asked for a few specific songs, which they played beautifully. Geechi told us they usually just read the crowd and then go with it - and that's what they did. Everyone told us that the band was unbelievable. EVERYONE was dancing. We didn't want the party to end! If you're looking for a band that's going to blow you and your guests away, that is a great value, and that is going to actually help you relax during the stressful months of wedding planning, DEFINITELY hire Retro JukeBox Band. They were the best and I'd love to work with them again (and also be friends with them)!

Choosing Retro Jukebox Band for our wedding was without a doubt one of the best decisions we made. The guests had a blast, we had a blast, and the party just kept going and going. In my opinion, there is nothing more important than having a great live band at a wedding if you want to throw a great party for your family and friends. So when my fiancé (at the time) asked me to find a wedding band for our September 2016 North Lake Tahoe wedding, I felt a lot of pressure to find the perfect band that would help make our wedding reception the best night (and party) of our lives. I've been to a couple weddings where the band was terrible, and it really put a damper on an otherwise great evening, and I was resolved to not let this happen to our wedding.. Thank God we found Retro Jukebox Band (RJB)! I can't remember exactly how I came across them - I looked at so many sites and bands - but I am so glad I did. I can't begin to express how great Geechi, John and the rest of the crew were to work with and how they truly made our special night the best of our lives. They played "What a Wonderful World" and "La Vie en Rose" during our ceremony, which were so beautifully played and sung. They played the perfect background jazz music for our cocktail hour and dinner. And most importantly, they kept the dance floor full all night, starting with all the Motown hits (our favorite) and on to Prince and Michael Jackson. They can play anything and everything and they play it all so well! After their set was done, they seamlessly transitioned to DJ mode and kept the party going. No one wanted to leave the dance floor when the night was over. After initally finding RJB, I reached out to them and was cordially invited to check out one of their gigs at the Birdland Jazzista in Oakland, CA. As it turned out, it was basically a private show for my fiancé and I! As soon as they started playing, I knew they were the right band for our wedding. I instantly found them to be the type of band that gets your foot tapping and makes you want to get up and dance - even without a single drop of alcohol in you - ha! We had only intended to stay for a few songs just to check them out but ended up staying for a couple hours for their entire gig because we were having such a great time and were enjoying their music so much. It was a no brainer - they were hired! Plus, we got a chance to get to know Geechi, John and their bandmates during their breaks. They are the coolest, nicest guys you'd ever want to meet - just the kind of people you'd want to have be a part of your special day! As for the planning and logistics leading up to our wedding, they are SO easy to work with and were a true bright spot for us among a lot of other vendors that were really difficult to deal with. They are super flexible with their playlist and will play exactly what you want them to play in the order you want them to play it or they can just freestyle and work the crowd. They are all about the customer and will do whatever it takes to make your day special - exactly what you want on your big day. We also found their fees to be very reasonable compared to other bands we talked to. RJB was the MVP of our whole wedding! Just writing this review brings back so many good memories - I wish we could do that night all over again. If you're looking for an awesome live band for your wedding and want a night that you'll never forget, do yourself a favor and hire Retro Jukebox Band! You won't regret it!! I can't even imagine a better wedding band. From the first time we contacted them to our follow up emails after our wedding, the band has been responsive, professional, and ceaselessly positive. As for the music, forget about it. Their catalog is extensive and their range amazing. Geechi has great presence and the drummer could have kept the party going alone for hours. They accommodated to all of our needs, MCed the event with respect and kept the party dancing all night. I can't even say enough good things about this band !

We first saw Retro Jukebox Band at my best friends wedding and knew they were going to be the band for our wedding. They were spectacular from booking them to them performing! Our dance floor was packed all night and people are still talking about the band and how much fun they had!! We have been to a few weddings with live bands and none of the bands were on the level of Retro Jukebox Band. They have fair prices, quality music, amazing vocals and very flexible with many options of music to choose from. They truly were the highlight of our day. Hire them you will be extremely happy with them.

Retro Jukebox Band played at my wedding on August 15, 2015 and they were a perfect choice. I would choose them again in a instant if I had too. We listened to their audio and looked at photos, so we knew they sounded great and looked professional, we just were not prepared on just how amazing they were live. They definitely blew us away. The music was great, the energy was incredible, they engaged my guest and we just danced all night. They even agreed to extend an hour because we were having such an awesome time. Best wedding band I have seen live! Retro JukeBox Band will make you never want to attend a wedding with only a DJ. At first I thought I wanted a DJ for my wedding. Then I went to a friends wedding and the DJ was just "ok". I knew I wanted more than "ok" for my wedding day. I looked around came across Retro Jukebox, I listened to their songs and knew right away, they were the band for my wedding. Best choice I could have made. On the day of my wedding, they were incredible! The ceremony music was lovely, they really know how to perform, the reception was so much fun, even my mother was dancing non stop. I'm so happy I chose them, they really made my day special. If you want an AMAZING band, you defiantly want to hire them.

They really know how to get the guest on the floor dancing, they kept the dance floor packed from start to end. The song selection was amazing.
