Part 2/2 This is a continuation of my first review!
Story continues...After cocktail hour was over, their dj (while screeching on the mic) without even asking guests to sit down or anything started to announce the bridal party. The feeling as ...a guest was like nails on a chalkboard. The dj clearly had zero crowd control and poor organizational skills. "ummmm...pause...walking in next....George (mispronounced last name) and Lucia bell" The crowd awkwardly clapped as the music started playing about 6 seconds off cue. You could FEEL the lack of confidence in the djs voice. This continued as the rest of the bridal party entered. There was nothing "GRAND" about this entrance. So the moment finally came, time to announce the new mr and mrs... I mean, sure everyone makes mistakes. Up until this point the dj had literally made about 5 or 6 mistakes. Here is how it went down: dj lowers music, coming in next, the new mr and mrs .... 10 second awkward pause...Johnson! I watched as he was scrambling through his notes. He literally forgot their new last name. I could see the partial look of anger on the bride and grooms faces as they did their one and only "grand entrance". **Their grand entrance rating: 1/5
OUR WEDDING: After our first sit down meeting with rockstar, we decided to have their officiants take the lead, especially after being a guest at another wedding where they opted out of hiring a pro...
Chris was our officiant AND dj which was very unique and he nailed both roles. His organization was clear, every one knew their role and where they had to stand. We also hired them to do the music and set up a mic for our ceremony. The volume levels were perfect, and (after the fact) all of my guests told me that they could hear our vows and what the officiant was saying. They delivered for sure. not to sound cliche, but everything turned out exactly as envisioned.
OUR CEREMONY: 5/5
cocktail hour : So since my now husband and myself were off taking photos, we were obviously not present for cocktail hour. My family told me details after the wedding. My mother said that the "volume was a good level, I could talk with your guests but still be entertained with background music while sipping on my drink" That is all that I needed to hear.
OUR COCKTAIL HOUR: 5/5
GRAND ENTRANCE/DINNER/SPEECHES: The grand entrance was smooth. Chris nailed it yet again, he helped line us up, explained where we would be walking, and he was clear and energetic. 5/5 There were no awkward pauses or miscues of music. After our entrance we cut our cake, and then sat down for dinner. We asked for Motown during dinner. That is exactly what we got. A perfect blend of music, that had all of us moving in our seats, ready to get the real party started.
Rockstar did a great job of controlling the crowds attention, especially when it was time for speeches. Chris introduced the speakers, which I thought was a nice touch. Also, everyone sounded clear and LOUD enough for all of our 300+ guests to hear. 5/5
I am leaving out a LOT of other details but I have a limit.
SUMMARY: It was truly a night to remember. The entire rockstar team literally MADE our day successful. I have nothing else to say besides thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If we had to use just words to describe this wonderful team at Rockstar we both would say: Professional, entertaining, energy filled, knowledgeable, easy to work with, current, detail oriented.
