Royale Orleans was a wonderful venue to us. Everyone there was helpful and professional, both in the planning and execution of the event. We had both our ceremony and reception in the Lafayette room and it was a beautiful event. They met all of our needs, and it was both affordable and efficient. The event itself was staffed by very helpful and professional people who made the event streamlined and fun all at the same time. A special shoutout to the DJ, Deandre, who walked us through everything beforehand and made the whole event lighthearted and fun. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a wedding or reception venue!

I love helping couples bring their special day to life. A couple things that set us apart: -Our experienced staff (many who have been with us 20+ years) is ready to serve you! -Our exceptional food and full bar (including 12 beers on tap) set us apart from other reception facilities. -Our outdoor wedding chapel and bridal suite are simply beautiful, you won't find anything like it in St. Louis! - ForrestOwner and FounderHe is best known as the maître d’. He holds hosting duties over almost every party and loves nothing more than to see guests enjoying themselves. When he’s not making sure all details are coming together at Royale Orleans he enjoys golfing and spending time with his family, particularly his 6 grandchildren and beloved pup.
- AndreaFood and Beverage ManagerShe is our Food and Beverage Manager, including our Cake Department. She has a degree in dance and is still a dance instructor at a local dance studio. If you need help with the choreography of your first dance, or the father and bride dance, she can help. Mark her husband, is one of our chefs and our accountant. He and Andrea have two children, their daughter, a dancer of course, and their son, a swimmer and baseball player. Mark and Eric also co-own Giuseppe’s Catering and private restaurant business. Andrea and Mark were married at Royale Orleans in 2002.
- LindaSales and Office CoordinatorShe is our Sales and Office coordinator. Along with event planning, she is our seamstress and floral arranger, and co-decorator with Marcia. Check us out at Christmas time, simply beautiful. Linda, her husband, and their daughter, Sara, love the St. Louis Cardinals. Linda is an avid fisherman, to boot.
- MarciaSales and Office CoordinatorShe is our super multi-tasker. She works in the office, gives tours, is our dining room manager, bartender, and invitation department manager. She also has a distinct Royale Orleans connection. Her late father, John, was an original bartender and Marcia was our first coat room checker. Her daughter, Katie, is also a Royale Orleans employee. They are the first family to have had three generations of family members who have served our customers. Marcia and her husband, Gari were married at Royale Orleans in 1990.

d coordinating the event went above and beyond to make it what our daughter envisioned and gave very helpful hints that made a difference on how smoothly it all flowed, the DJ, Torino, was on point with ques during the ceremony and was fun while playing music that kept our guests dancing, the bartender served our guests efficiently, the food was excellent and was served with smiles and the wait staff cleared dishes in a pleasant manner. Absolutely everyone was dressed well, were respectful to our guests and very professional. If you are looking for a venue that cares about your special day as much as you do and knows how to put on a top notch event at an affordable price in comparison to so many other venues, Royale Orleans is definitely worth checking out.

no charges for tables, centerpieces and service. The price they quoted was the price we paid.
Communication before, during and after the event was professional and nothing was forgotten. They made throwing a party for 200 relatively easy. Staff was responsive and friendly the night of the event as well. The in house DJ kept the dance floor moving.
We wouldn’t change a thing- great venue and great value.

with what we wanted. There were several food options, all very tasty. Decor was so easy - we just dropped off everything a few days before with instructions and they set everything up for us. sible. They also gave us discounts for hosting our event on a Friday evening from the dinner prices to the tux rentals. Dinner was also served fresh, and the bar tending staff was smooth and professional. We were impressed at their high level of service while serving dinner, and selection of meal choices that everyone can enjoy. The in-house DJ did a phenomenal job hosting our ceremony and reception. The reception hall music wasn't too loud, and the staff set up the room perfectly for us before the reception. They upgraded our room for the evening since we were the only event, which was really thoughtful. They even matched the lights and napkins to my rainbow theme. The wedding and reception being in one location was apprecaited by our guests, and you even get your names on their sign for the night. How cool is that? They also wrap your cake for you, made by the Blue Owl Bakery if you choose to order through them, cut & serve the cake with ease. Their connection with Ted Drewes Ice Cream in St. Louis was such a hit with our guests for a summer June wedding! We can't thank the venue enough for making this process so seamless, enjoyable, and easy to do. We used their outdoor garden chapel space; and we had no issues setting up, beautiful weather, and everyone could see us standing up at the alter. When you rent this space, the cottage to get ready in was a wonderful touch, and gave the wedding party space to get ready, enjoy some snacks, and make all the final checks before the wedding ceremony started. This family run venue cared about every detail of our celebration, answered all of our questions in a timely manner, and made us very happy and less stressed when hosting and planning our celebration. It showed in their excellence in every detail they helped us plan, and how much fun we has celebrating our special day at Royale Orleans! Thank you all so much for all that you did to make our wedding wonderful and colorful!

is stressful, especially planning one during a pandemic, but Royale Orleans reassurance made us feel nothing but safe and happy. Their staff truly does care about their guests and it shows in many aspects! The wait staff, bar tenders, and appointed DJ were very attentive, entertaining, and understanding. The food was one thing my guests complimented most and I couldn't agree more. Chicken cordon bleu was so fresh and delicious tasting; Everything tasted hot and fresh. We had such a beautiful ceremony followed by our spectacular reception; I couldn't be happier. Royale Orleans is amazing!

Wyatt was our DJ and he was wonderful - he discussed with us what we wanted at our reception and did a great job of not only getting guests of all ages on the dance floor, but keeping them there. The food was amazing and out guests continue to rave about the food, even a month after our event. We utilized the Blue Owl Bakery through Royale Orleans and the cake was phenomenal and was the most delicious cake! Overall the staff was very courteous and helped immensely with the planning of the reception - whatever I needed they were willing to answer questions or meet about concerns we had for our reception. July 22, 2000, with more than 300 guests, we knew this is the only place we wanted to have our parents’ 55th wedding anniversary celebration on June 3, 2018. Forrest Miller, his daughter, Holly, and the entire staff at Royale Orleans don’t just treat us like customers, they welcome us like family. Holly and I discussed our needs for the party over the phone, and she made every detail that day perfect. She took care of everything for me so that we could enjoy the day celebrating our parents - total peace of mind. From the beautifully clean and gorgeously decorated facility and the delicious food, to the super sweet staff and wonderful Master of Ceremonies, Forrest, the day could not have been more perfect. To say I love Holly and Forrest immensely is an understatement. They are dear family friends. While other reception facilities exist, there is only one Royale Orleans. The personal care, detail and attention they give to every party is unmatched by others in the industry. They are by far the best in the business. I can’t thank them enough for all they did to make these events so special for our family. Wonderful memories we will cherish forever. We love you with all our heart!

d the classy venue! We loved that our hall room had its own private bathrooms too. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because there was audio problems during our entrance and half of our wedding party announcement coming in was unable to be heard AND they ran out of food for our guests -(even though we were under the number we gave them for a head count) and instead of bringing out more food of what we selected, they brought out a different entree (we didnt choose). If we had to do the decision over, we still would go with Royal Orleans for our reception. They were very attentive to our needs during the wedding planning process and all were very friendly. They worked hard for us- and we really appreciated it.

At Royale Orleans, we have 4 professional DJ's on staff who are tech savvy and know how to quickly troubleshoot if there is a technical issue. They always have a backup plan in case of an emergency. That's why we have these guys...they know what they are doing!!!
Since we are a venue that serves the food buffet style, we always want to make sure we have plenty of food for our guests. We offer many items on our menu. In preparing for our buffet dinners, we have percentages that we use to figure proportions of each item on the menu. The southern baked chicken (which is the item in question) is the most difficult one to figure because we never know how many people will choose white meat over dark meat. 99% of the time, we get it right but there is that one party where people will throw the proportions off by choosing mostly one kind of meat over the other. Such was the case with your event. When we realized that we were going to be low on white meat, we made chicken cordon bleu (an upgraded and more expensive entrée) to supplement the wings and thighs that were still available to choose. We never ran out of the southern baked chicken because there were still thighs and legs available, nor any of the other items on the buffet. We wanted to make sure your guests could come back to the buffet for second servings of any of the items on the buffet, including white meat chicken.

e got to our wedding, the more stressful things became. They take a $750 deposit when you book your date, and then they don't want to hear any information about your wedding until the week of. They also insist that you have to use their DJs, which we thought would be fine at first because they were affordable and familiar with the event space. However, when we had our meeting the Monday before the wedding, they barely paid attention to anything special that we wanted. They also said that the DJ assigned to us would call us that night. We repeatedly called the venue, and they kept giving different days/times that the DJ would call us. The DJ FINALLY called me at 6am the day before the wedding, and we talked for 45 minutes about some special songs, dances, and the flow that we wanted things to go. However, the day of the wedding, the DJ acted like he forgot everything he was supposed to do, and he argued with the bride, families, and multiple members of the wedding party, saying that we were going to do things his way. When we tried to speak to the owner after the event and say how horrible our experience was, he said that we were making it up and that everyone ate and drank so we should just be happy with the final result. Absolutely disgusting customer service. If you're okay with following their standard cookie cutter weddings, then this is an easy place to have a wedding reception. It also would probably be great for meetings/reunions. However, if you want anything special, I advise you to look elsewhere.

You added more objections in your quest to discredit my DJ & our company in your Knot review. You are correct: Royale Orleans is the perfect place to have a reception. We have served over 7,000 receptions & have learned a lot from watching others make planning mistakes. We believe it’s our duty to explain why our policies work better. By finalizing with clients 1 week prior to their event, it relieves the planning stress, as so many things can change during the planning process. Of course we want to hear from our customers during the planning process. They can call/come see us anytime. We offer 2 food tastings a year so our customers can ask questions & view all our services. We email a follow up evaluation to all who attend to encourage feedback to help improve our service. You attended 10-28-15 but no evaluation was completed by you with suggestions or concerns about the way we conduct our events. Bundling of services is appealing to many; but, our customers can bring in their own bands, baker, or decor/florist. We started our own DJ service 13 years ago to better serve our customers. Our DJ’s are auditioned and trained by us to be flexible for your guests’ requests, while making sure your requests are being met. In truth, our DJ texted you at 6am & asked you to call him when you were free. You chose to call him back immediately. It is our policy that the DJ’s call the customer Mon, Tues, or Wed prior to their event. We agree he should have contacted you sooner. We did our best to accommodate your itinerary, even though it is very different than how we successfully conduct events. Our itinerary starts with the wedding couple welcoming & thanking their guests. We think your “Thank You” is important. You chose not to. During finalization, you asked that toasts be done after dinner & Holly explained how that doesn’t work. The only time you have your guests’ undivided attention is after “welcome” & before dinner is served because the toastmasters put a lot of effort into toasts & we want everyone to hear them. However, we abided by your request. You also requested that only your mother/stepfather speak before dinner, & no one else. When sorority sisters wanted to sing, our DJ lightheartedly asked for your "OK", since it was not on your itinerary. He did not argue with any member of the bride’s family. In a conversation on 8-24-17 with me, the owner, I did not think “you were making up” that the DJ didn’t contact you until 6am on Friday. It was a fact. However, also factual is that your event WAS a success. Many of your guests, including your uncle & wedding party members spoke to our DJ & staff & complimented us on our service. Your guests did eat, drink, dance & have a great time. Also factual: your husband asked our DJ to play more 80’s music, because you wanted it. Our DJ said he would be happy to do anything that you wanted, although he was following the play list that you supplied him. So, I did not feel obligated to refund the DJ cost, as you requested. As to your remark about “our standard cookie-cutter wedding,” nothing could be farther from the truth. We pride ourselves in making everyone’s events suited to their own tastes, & your event was no exception.

y worked with us to make it happen. We LOVED Deondre, our DJ. We didn't love the parrot that was gabbing in the lobby and Forrest, the owner of the venue, did a greeting at the reception. We never met him before and it was pretty corny and awkward. A lot of our guests teased us about it and I told them I had no idea that was coming. The food was delicious and the dance floor was great for our crew. It's a great place to do a wedding on a tight budget.

G! I felt so comfortable and relaxed, which is pretty important as a bride. The day went off without a hitch and all of my guests had a fantastic time. The price is far less than any other venue in the area, but the feel is not that of the typical banquet hall. Even though there was a wedding next door, I still felt special, as a bride should on their wedding day.
They have several packages that literally are designed to fit every budget. We ended up going with the package which included the beef tenderloin (trust me, the answer is yes, it is worth it). We also did a combo bar, in house DJ services (our DJ was awesome!), and uplighting. I came in the morning to do some of the decorating, though that was only because I am a control freak who wants to see/touch everything herself. When I did end up running out of time, the staff assured me they would finish up for me, and they did a great job of it.
The place has a New Orleans feel, which we embraced and used as a theme for our wedding. We love New Orleans, as do many of our friends, so it worked out perfectly. You can tell there have been updates made to some areas (i.e. bar, dance floor lighting) and I can tell you from our personal shopping experience this is something the other area banquet halls have not done. Speaking of bar- you will be hard pressed to find this kind of selection anywhere else, and you definitely will not find it in a comparable price point. (12 beers on tap, flavored Three Olives Vodka, Gin, Rum, Scotch, Whiskey, Hurricanes, etc. etc.)
I was able to bring in my own photo booth service, a candy machine, and my own cake person. While they do offer all of these services in house, I already had found exactly what I wanted outside and chose not to use their partners.
I cannot say enough positive things about this place! Thank you so much to the staff for making our wedding such a success! The memories we made here will be with us for our entire lifetime. I will be recommending you to everyone I know!

dled so we had literally no worries. We brought in our own centerpieces, but only for the tables that we knew would have guests. The staff allowed us to use their silver centerpieces for the remainder of the tables and even added pink lighting to go with our colors. We did not have to clean up and our gifts/cake were packed up for us. Our experience at Royale Orleans was second to none. I will recommend them to anyone looking for a venue.

My husband and I had our reception this summer at Royale Orleans, and it was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day. First of all, Holly is fantastic to work with....
She was helpful in the planning process, kept in good communication, and was able to help us handle some last minute changes to our guest list. On the night of the wedding, the whole operation ran smoothly because of Holly and the rest of the Royale Orleans staff's services. I heard from guests that everyone from the bartender to the DJ was professional, friendly, and engaging. We liked also that all the ballrooms have permanent dance floors, ample room for the DJ, a nice bar area, a large buffet area, and enough room for seating. We didn't at all feel crowded. Also, Royale Orleans clearly has the schedule for the evening down to a science from all their years of hosting events. We didn't feel rushed at any point, having enough time to eat, mingle, and dance. Finally, Royale Orleans is one of the best bargains you can get in St. Louis for a reception. Their food is good, their prices are reasonable (and the tax rate in their area is less than other places), their gratuity is included in the cost they give you, their service is exceptional, and the venue itself is just nice and classy. We'd encourage anyone planning a wedding in the area to go check them out!

f my reception I didn't have to do any work--their staff catered to every need my guests and I had. We had absolutely no problems the entire evening. My guests were very impressed by the dinner buffet, with the staff and with the choices at the bar. I also loved that I signed one contract and wrote out one check to pay for everything--the DJ, my cake, food, alcohol, chair covers, decor, everything. And relative to prices at other area reception halls, I thought the price per person was very reasonable. DJ Bob was great; he stuck to the playlist we gave him but also was good about taking requests so my guests were dancing all night. Chuck the bartender was also very nice. We were very happy with our reception and would recommend the Royale Orleans to brides looking for a great reception space at a great price.

the food/service still a month after the wedding. I felt that they wanted to make it special for me and not just get my money, which was a huge plus to my husband and I. One of the best parts was that everything was offered in house or thorough a preferred vendor so we could write one check at the end. It was unfortunate that about 60 people could not make it to our wedding, they allowed us to use that money we already spent towards upgrades! We got to upgrade our bar selection, food, and decorations!! Everything was absolutely amazing, I didn't worry about a thing!

able and willing to help with everything! They allowed us to make the space and evening our own, from adding bread baskets to the tables to allowing me to bring the grooms cake 2 days early so I didnt have to mess with it later! We talked about that night all day the next day. They also never "kicked" us out. It was supposed to end at 11, but the DJ kept the party going till 11:30. I would use them again if ew were to do it all over again! Great Job!

Everything was great, the Dj was not very personable at all. Sucks that you cant choose who you want for your dj and you still have to pay $500.
