, we had to pleasure of working with our wonderful maitre'd, Heather DeRosa. She made sure that the event ran smoothly and seamlessly the entire day. She felt like our own personal wedding planner, making sure that everyone was where they needed to be, the event was running on time, and everything and everyone was taken care of the entire night. Kind, considerate, and attentive, she checked in throughout the night to make sure we got what we needed. Going above and beyond my expectations. I definitely recommend this venue for your future wedding!

Kaitlyn is also amazing and made everything so comfortable and smooth running. They are definitely pros and are there to make your big day perfect!

had everything I was looking for, high ceilings, a woodsy outdoor feel, and friendly people working there, good food, and a large space to get ready with our giant wedding party, bonus points for being a very reasonable price. Being a same sex wedding we had lots of different requests and Running Deer was able to accommodate all of them. Our wedding coordinators Olivia (sadly is no longer there), Kaitlyn, and the two Heathers answered many emails promptly and always had all the answers. We visited the venue multiple times before the wedding and they were always eager to show us whatever we came to look at. We loved too that Running Deer didn’t pressure us to use their list of preferred vendors. My wife and I have some close friends that we used and we did DIY for the up lighting. Our rehearsal ran seamlessly, which I was afraid would be difficult because we have 20 adults and six kids in our wedding. The Heather’s made sure everything ran smooth and I wasn’t worried the day of the wedding because everyone knew what they were supposed to be doing and where they were supposed to stand. The day of the wedding came and we couldn’t say enough things about our concierge Heather. From the moment she showed up she was so attentive and helpful, but not over bearing. She helped order and serve lunch and drinks to my bridal party. She was helpful in keeping us way ahead of our timeline and made sure once my wife showed up that we didn’t accidentally run into each other. During the wedding she made sure we always had a fresh drink, plenty of food, and anything else we needed. She took care of minor issues as they arrived during the wedding. I cannot say enough fantastic things about her. The venue itself was beautiful. Grounds well-kept and perfect for pictures. Bathrooms clean. Beautiful choice of ceremony spaces. We choose the pergola. The ballroom was set up perfect! I was blown away how the created tables with all of the small personal touches we brought along. Even at the last minute Running Deer was able to produce an easel to hang a sign I completely forgot about but wanted out at the ceremony. The food was more than five stars. We did the plated dinner package and the dinner was huge portions served in a timely manner. Everyone is still talking about how wonderful the food was. At the end of the night we choose to add on the Beat the Hangover Bar for our guests. After the fact we realized it was way too much food! At the end of the evening guests are given warm chocolate chip cookies as they leave. Also Running Deer has a chocolate dessert room that is divine. Everything about our day was perfect and I wish we could do it again!!!! Now we just need to find friends to get married at Running Deer so we can enjoy it as guests!!

It’s so quiet and secluded so you are guaranteed to not have any wedding crashers haha! Not only is the venue stunning inside and out, it is a great value! We signed up during a special they had and we got an entire hour of open bar for free in addition to a $500 Visa gift card as a gift from them the day of our wedding. Other perks: if you want to do floating candles in vases on mirrors for centerpieces, they offer that free of charge (specifically, vases and mirrors included)! The cake is included as well and it was DELCIOUS!!! For cocktail hour, they offered a macaroni station which was included (usually venues will charge a lot for stations during cocktail hour). They even accommodated our signature drink without an extra charge! Colored table cloths and napkins are also included. If you want something fancy (sequins for example) it is an extra charge, but some venues don’t even include colored linens so that is a huge perk! They have an entire chocolate indulgence room that is also included and my guests said the deserts were outrageously delicious! They even include warm homemade cookies as guests leave at the end of the night. Literally this venue is a dream! After your wedding is over, they don’t make you clean everything up that night, instead they will gather it for you and you can come by the next day to pick everything up! If you are looking for a place that is gorgeous with high ceilings, amazing food (huge portions by the way!), excellent service, and an amazing value, this is the place for you! Kait was my main point of contact throughout the entire process and she is so responsive, professional, flexible, and accommodating. I was a very particular bride with my vision and she was very accommodating and ensured me that everything I wanted would be carried out. For instance, I wanted the cake wheeled to the middle of the dance floor for the cake cutting and she was able to accommodate us. I also asked that someone pass out our sparklers and light them at the end of the night for the sparkler send off and she accommodated us as well! Everything we wanted, she always said yes, we can do that! She made it happen! A lot of venues have particular rules and guidelines you have to follow, but the Running Deer is so flexible. You can tell they just want you to be happy at the end of the day! The day of our wedding, Heather was our concierge. Heather is a ROCKSTAR! Every time I needed something, she was there asking if she could get me anything. She brought my girls and I some champagne free of charge the day of the wedding and continued to provide refills for us when needed. She brought us food while we were getting ready as well! She even offered to help me in the bathroom during the wedding! Seriously, she is a saint! Always willing to help without any hesitation. The day of my wedding it unfortunately rained, but Heather let me wait until an hour and a half before the wedding instead of the usual 2 hour time limit, to make the decision on whether the ceremony would be inside. Unfortunately, we had to hold it inside, but everything was done beautifully and the staff is so quick with set-up!

On top of the amazing staff, the venue is beautiful, and the food/dessert is delicious! There are two amazing ceremony sites, beautiful spots for pictures all over the property, a spacious patio for cocktail hour, a huge rustic but classy ballroom, and spacious bridal suites! The food was all delicious, and people are still raving about how awesome the chocolate indulgence room was! Running Deer was perfect, and my husband and I are so so happy that we were able to get married there!

They were very accommodating in a sense that when something was brought to their attention they did whatever they could to satisfy the both of us. It was a pleasure working with Olivia. She was very attentive and loyal to my husband and I throughout the entire planning process. She ensured us that our wedding day would be perfect and that is exactly what it was. Heather was AMAZING. They weren't kidding when they said she will not leave our side. She didn't miss a beat ALL night. She kept my husband and I afloat and for that we are truly grateful! Along the way, we met several other staff members, whom also didn't disappoint so thank you all for you hard work and assistance. The food was terrific. The chef, Steve was great to us! Our guests had such an amazing time. Three weeks later and they are still raving about it all, which warms our hearts tremendously. My calls and emails were always returned promptly, and I never had a worry after talking with Olivia or Samantha. I had a custom menu and everyone raved about the food. My grandfather still talks about the prime rib haha! When it came time for our big day, I had not one bit of stress. Everyone was so assuring prior to this that I knew there was nothing to worry about. Our day of coordinator Mary Jo was a saint.Our food was always hot, and our drinks were never empty. She was there all day working with our florists helping make everything exactly how I had invisioned. Might I add, she was awesome when it came to our children. Trying to enjoy your day with a two and four year old, is a little difficult. Mary Jo did whatever it took to keep our kids occupied so we could enjoy ourselves. The servers were all so helpful as well. Always smiling and congratulating us, and helping with anything we needed. One of my biggest pet peeves at an event is cluttered tables. The tables were always spotless and cleared in a timely matter making it easier for my guest to enjoy themselves. Anyone who is looking for a stress free, absolutely perfect day, at a beautiful venue, look no further Running Deer Golf Course and their staff will surely exceed your expectations.

I fell in love with the venue the first time I saw it, and it was STUNNING the day of. More beautiful than I could have imagined. my type-A personality and limited time for planning given I work many hours. Everyone was highly responsive to my (sometimes multiple a day) emails and questions. Even the day of, any change I wanted to make was done with ease and confidence. Having such competent wedding professionals to work with made the day go off without a hitch. Many people commented during the process and day of that I seemed like such a relaxed bride, and I think that was truly a testament to the Running Deer wedding team.

rom its breath-taking building, secluded in a small town in New Jersey, you walk around back and find the most beautiful golf course, and a beautiful pergola where most couples seeking an outside ceremony, decide to get married at. The inside ball room is everything we were hoping for, and the giant wall of windows will take your breath away. Our September 2016 wedding was planned in 3 months total because my fiancé is in the service and was getting restationed in the US. Olivia M. was my go to gal, when I met her at RD bridal show 8 months prior she was sweet, kind, understanding, and wanted to work with us to meet our budget being a young couple, but to also give us the wedding of our dreams! Boy did she. Olivia was there to answer any questions I had (which was a lot!) Samantha was a big help too with my questions. Come the day of the wedding, I have to say if my coordinator Krista was not there, I don't know what I would have done. Krista exceeded all our expectations and went above and beyond for us. We felt truly cared for the day of the wedding. I was a DIY bride and Krista started off helping me set up my center pieces and decorations so I could relax and enjoy our bridal lunch. Every time we needed her, we didn't have to look for her. Every time we didn't have a drink in our hands she was there to replenish it. She saw that it was very hard for us to eat, she saved us a plate of hors d' ovderves, she brought us our Mac and cheese martini to eat while we were waiting to get introduced, chauffeured us first to get our dinners and made sure that no one stopped us on the way, boxed our food for us, and brought us all of our cakes and desserts to try. Weddings are super hectic and normally the bride and groom do not have time to actually enjoy it, but with Krista we enjoyed every minute and felt completely relaxed. Krista is a very hard worker, and I could tell she truly loves what she does. I would recommend everyone I know to plan their wedding at RD and with the friendly staff there.

Our wedding day was over 100 degrees with the heat index and Mary Jo was right by our sides with water and cool towels as needed. Guests complimented the venue numerous times on their attentiveness upon arrival as they were greeted with cool towels and water for our outdoor ceremony. The cocktail hour and dinner food was fantastic and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy. For having an outdoor ceremony, the grounds were very quiet and all could hear the ceremony. Olivia and Samantha were wonderful to work with! They listened to every idea, want and need my husband and I asked for and were extremely quick to answer any concerns.

ng. The site was beautiful and the staff was amazing. They were all so organized, detailed and helpful. They never tired of our constant questions especially the weeks before the wedding. Hurricane Hermine was supposed to hit NJ on the day of our wedding and while our Florist was pressuring us to make a decision to have the ceremony inside 12 hours before we had originally agreed to decide, the Running Deer Staff was helping us track the wedding and dealing with my florist for me. The weather ended up being perfect and thanks to Running Deer I was able to make the decision to have it outside. On the day of my wedding they did everything for me. They set up my complicated centerpieces, welcomed and took care of my guests that all arrived early and made sure that we had everything we needed. The food was incredible!!! From the dinners to the salads and the cocktail hour. There was never a shortage of food and they were quick to refill any trays that emptied. the dessert room was something from a dream. Whether you like chocolate or not there is something for everyone. I wish I could eat the dinner I had that night over and over again. The portions are generous and the display is beautiful. I know we have all had a cold and bad dinner at a wedding and know how disappointing it can be. Have no fears about Running Deer's food. It is perfection. Our attendant Crystal was AMAZING. When I got to the venue I was upset because the Florist used less than half of the floral stems we agreed on in our contract. Instead of letting me or my bridal party get upset, Crystal called my florist for me and had her come out and fill the vases with more flowers. In case the florist wouldn't do it Crystal actually had her grandma on standby who grew flowers on her own to help me. That kind of service is just not something you find at other places. I literally cannot imagine having a better wedding day and I owe that to Running Deer Country Club and their incredible staff. I recommend this venue to any bride who wants a beautiful, private, stress free wedding. Running Deer is an easy choice that you will be thankful you made. Call Heather, Olivia or Samantha and start your wedding planning off on the right foot. Once you pick the venue, especially the right venue everything else falls into place. After looking at other venues, we appreciated the upfront pricing. Everything was included and they weren’t trying to nickel and dime you to death over silly things like chair covers. We also liked that we would be the only event and would not have to compete with another wedding going on at the same time. It was really a no brainer to me when they mentioned the macaroni and cheese bar! It was such a pleasure to work with everyone at Running Deer. I was an extremely busy bride, working full time at a very demanding job. Heather and Olivia were so professional and responsive to all of my questions (and I had a ton!). They made the process so easy and seamless from start to finish. Every wedding has its hiccups but they made our day go incredibly smooth. On the day of our wedding, it was pouring for hours and stopped only 2 short hours before the ceremony. They had an eye to the sky and were ready to go as soon as it stopped. Our maître d’ , Mary jo and the staff were so calm and collected, it was very reassuring to a nervous bride checking the radar every 5 minutes. Olivia ran our rehearsal so well the ceremony was a breeze. The reception also went exceptionally smooth. Mary Jo even helped refill the flower girls’ bubble guns when they were having a meltdown about their bubbles running out. She also made sure I got my very own glass of mac-n-cheese, knowing that was my favorite part of the whole deal! I had so many compliments from everything from the room to the food. I personally do not eat red meat but I had several reports of the filet being the best they’ve ever had at a wedding! I was extremely happy we chose Running Deer and would choose it a thousand times more. Thank you all for making our day practically perfect!

he staff was great, they provided wonderful service. As soon as the ceremony was over they were standing with hot hor d' erves ready to serve. The reception room was very pretty with windows over-looking the outside. The only downside was my phone wasn't getting reception there because it's far back in the woods. They have a great bridal suite room. Food was delicious from cocktail hour, to the buffet, to the decadent dessert room, and the send off snacks and cookie on the way out the door!!

She made sure everything was perfect, from bringing us our lunch and drinks to the bridal suite while myself and bridal party got ready for the ceremony to setting up all of our personal decor that we brought for the reception. She made sure my husband and I were the first to eat dinner and as you were finishing your drink she was waiting with a new one in her hand! The whole bridal party and parents took notice to Krista as well because her hard work not only showed but made everybody's day and experience outstanding. Heather and Olivia were nothing short of amazing as well...I had a ton of questions while planning for the big day and they are always quick to answer questions and to give suggestions. Running Deer made sure to make a seperate meal for a family member with Celiac's disease, and the venue being handicap accessible was a must so that my husband's grandparents could be with us on our wedding day. The Running Deer staff also helped to take care of our little ring bearer, who less than an hour before the ceremony accidently got hit in the head with a golf club by one of our child groomsmen. The staff called a doctor that was golfing there, and the situation was already taken care of before I had heard about it. The food is amazing and the whole day went fantasticly. If we could give our whole experience 10 stars, we would! Thank you Running Deer for the best day!

When we saw Running Deer we BOTH loved it!!! There was no doubt in both of our minds that was the place for us. Not only because the venue is beautiful and so different than most in SJ but because of the staff there too. Heather greeted us with champagne when we came in for our tour and was so knowledgeable. We had tons of questions and she answered them all right away! My husbands favorite part was actually the mens lounge. He loved that unlike all the other places we saw he and his groomsmen would have a place to hangout before the ceremony as well. They have a poker room, TV room and he played their xbox (or whatever it is lol) the whole time! The day of was PERFECT!!! Heather and Olivia made it so you honestly feel like you dont have to worry about a thing the day of the wedding. Our wedding coordinator Krista was amazing too. was working much farther out than most brides and if I can remember correctly booked our venue 2 1/2 years before the wedding due to only being in NJ 3 times before our wedding. When searching for venues I had a marathon of a weekend looking at venues all over the South Jersey area. From the second we walked in to the venue we knew it was the one. We were greeted, toured around, were able to look through countless photos of previous weddings and were able to envision what ours would look like. Two things really stood out to me with this venue. I know that Heather and Olivia had many other brides that had weddings before me but they answered every single question, sometimes within minutes, I asked. They were there to offer food, florist, cake, church, and decor suggestions. Heather and Olivia were both amazing in helping me. The second was Mary Jo. Mary Jo was with us from the second we showed up at the venue and she was hands down OUTSTANDING! She got our bridal party settled in downstairs and directed Jeremy and I and our photographers to the best places to take pictures. Made sure we had everything we needed before the wedding. Then took us upstairs before everyone got in there to see the amazing work her and her team did putting together all of our touches. As well as was there for us to help us, calm us and walk us through every step of the night. Running Deer was a fantastic wedding venue- from the staff, to the delicious food, to their great preferred vendors. I fully recommend them to everyone!

I spilled chocolate all over my dress towards the end of the night, and she was right there with club soda, scrubbing until it was clean! She went above and beyond to make our day perfect! I cannot say enough good things about her! Running Deer was also very accomadating with their food as I and several other guests of ours have Celiac's disease. We were also able to have fireworks here, which blew our guests away! I highly recommend this venue! Our wedding day was beyond anything we could have imagined!
