Having our wedding at San Moritz was a dream, we genuinely couldn’t have asked for anything more! Our wedding coordinator Michelle was AMAZING, the venue was absolutely beautiful, and all of the staff at the venue helped make our day perfect ❤️
Booking a tour of San Moritz was easy but we didn't know what to expect from the photos online. We knew the Lodge would be beautiful from the photos online but they did not do the beautiful San Moritz Lodge justice. From just walking alongside the lodge and peaking though the large windows my fiancée knew that this would be the place (she looked back at me giving a thumbs up and saying I love it). During our tour we're we're help by Michelle. Michelle answered every question that we had and even the ones we didn't. Michelle explained the wedding packages and what was a part of each. We picked the Vintage package but added the photobooth. Michelle then explained the timeline of what things we had to do to plan our wedding alongside the lodge. She explained that they had preferred vendors that they have been working with for a long time and that we would be choosing between them. This all inclusive style made the planning easy and at times we even felt like it made it too easy as there were times where we felt like we should be planning but everything was already taken care of by the team that the lodge had put together. Throughout the planning, Michelle was available to email and ask any question that may have came up. She was able to provide a list of local makeup artists.
Alot of the time we were working with our vendors that we selected but we knew that we could reach out to Michelle and the lodge about anything and everything and they would deliver a timely thought out response.
About 6 weeks before we had our decor meeting where Michelle and the team at the lodge brought our vision to life. They showed us how every dish and napkin and decoration that we wanted to see and how it would interact with the ones we had already selected. We left the decor even more excited know that the team would deliver perfect on our vision and dream.
The day of our wedding was a whirlwind but as soon as my wife to be saw the lodge all set up with what we had planned, she sent a simple but effective message it's gorgeous. Throughout the day, Michelle and her team was there to direct us and make sure that everything was perfect and that our guests as well as us were having a great time. Michelle and everyone at the San Moritz made our wedding a dream come true and a very memorable and fun wedding for all. Thank you An Moritz Lodge and Michelle for putting on the best wedding reception.
I booked their Queen Anne’s Lace package and have had a horrid experience with this venue. Four months before our wedding, the wedding coordinator quit and we were not told until after a month of unanswered communications. The new coordinator was brought on two weeks before our wedding. She left around 5pm the day of and the two assistants left at the wedding were without instruction and had to be managed by our planner (who is not being paid to manage their staff). We were told we could set up in the morning for two hours, turns out we could not set up until 2pm for a 4pm wedding but the space was “ours for the day”. They didn’t turn on the electricity to our reception venue which meant our DJ and caterer were without power for some time. They had no backup weather plan, and we experienced 30 mph winds and 60 degree weather during the afternoon in late June which they tried to claim was “normal” (the average wind speed for the month was 6 mph). This meant our decor, food, drinks, tables and centerpieces blowing over and guests were freezing. We provided heaters and blankets which helped but did little against the wind. They only ordered one set of chairs instead of two and transferred them between venue spaces which delayed caterer setup and reception start time. Our napkins were the wrong color and we were still charged for them. There was supposed to be a seating area with a fire but there was no furniture and the fireplace was closed up. They later said that a fire was not safe due to the winds - after they said the winds were not bad at all. We didn’t receive the invoice until the day before our wedding instead of one month prior. It contained multiple errors adding to a potential overcharge of $800. This area is beautiful and no one cannot predict the weather, but you should be prepared to take care of guests and ensure that visitors have a nice time. After our wedding, we initiated conversation with the venue coordinator and spoke to the general manager on the phone who initially listened and then became manipulative and defensive. He stopped answering communications for a month after offering a meager reduction in cost which we countered. We sent a significant portion of the payment and they are now demanding we send the remainder before they will continue the discussion. They do have some wonderful staff members that care about their jobs, but they are under poor management where they are not well prepared. This package is clearly an after thought for them, and therefore, they do not ensure that they deliver their contracted services let alone ensure that clients are happy. Their package in the lodge may likely be a well thought out option with good services, but after dealing with their lack of preparedness and horrible, careless customer service, I cannot recommend anyone use this venue. Save your wedding day for one of the other beautiful locations in the area.
