Shawnee Inn is a special, historic location right on the Delaware river. We were familiar with the resort and thought it could be a lovely one-stop shop wedding venue for us and our guests. We were anxious about the overall hotel reviews, which should be taken into consideration before booking this venue. The hotel requires constant maintenance given. It’s over 100 years old. I feel Shawnee could do better on this front, but you can tell they are always making efforts to improve.
Outside of the overall up keep, Shawnee is an awesome venue. No transportation is required, the brewery makes for a fabulous after party location, and the coordinator Tabitha is fabulous. She responds so quickly, even on her days off, even when I tell her to take her time! We had detailed instructions for our wedding decor which was all followed to a tee. We opted for a tented reception and the Shawnee team even went above and beyond to hang our floral chandeliers up above the dance floor.
We unfortunately had rain, but the porch made for a wonderful cozy alternate ceremony location. All the food was beyond our expectations of banquet food, served outside 100-yards away from the kitchen, to over 100 guests- still hot and delicious. Our guests loved the beautiful venue and many enjoyed the golfing, kayaking, and hiking offered on the property.
If you’re considering Shawnee, as long as you can get past some of the outdated features, I think you’ll be really pleased. It’s a good value for the wedding weekend experience you’re able to achieve and the resort boasts timeless charm that makes for wonderful photos!

Having guests come from all over, we knew we wanted a venue with accommodations and things to do. Shawnee was the perfect spot with the hotel, venue, golf course, brewery, restaurants, and various activities all in one location!
We had our “welcome to town” event (in lieu of rehearsal dinner) at the brewery, the staff was extremely accommodating to our large party and gave us the whole back area. The guys were able to golf the morning of the wedding, we had about 8 groups and the pro shop was very helpful when my husband reached out to set up tee times. The after party was hosted at the hotel bar, there were food options and our guests appreciated the ability to walk right up to their rooms at the end of the night. We also hosted a farewell buffet brunch the morning after on the balcony, which was a great way to be able to say goodbye to guests.
Tabitha is an efficient communicator and all our interactions with her were positive and supportive. We visited three times pre-wedding: first to tour, second for the tasting, and third for a final details meeting. Communication was always open via email for any questions in between.
We originally planned for riverside ceremony, balcony cocktail hour, and Worthington reception – but the weather was not in our favor on wedding day. Tabitha came and found me in the morning to discuss options, it was 50/50 on whether the rain would clear by ceremony time – we called it for balcony ceremony and we were very happy with the decision and her flexibility.
That being said, I would not recommend this venue to those who are overly nit picky on details. We loved the charm, but it is an old hotel with renovations.
We are definitely planning on returning for an anniversary stay in a few years.

We had our wedding at the Shawnee Inn, and I'm thrilled with our decision in booking with them.
Pros to having your wedding there is the flexibility in your planning process. Wedding coordinator, Tabitha, did an excellent job responding to questions via e-mail, and was pretty much open to anything I suggested, including a sparkler exit, a pizza party rehearsal dinner, and drinks specifically created based on our favorites!
The banquets staff did an excellent job setting up our venue. I was a bride who micromanaged my decor, and they went above and beyond expectation to put together a beautiful ceremony and reception hall.
All our guests loved the food, and the brewery on site has incredible pizza!
The bartenders on site were lovely, and so helpful when it came to making our guests happy!
Lastly, the resort is so beautiful, and put us and our guests in awestruck the day of the wedding, as the weather was beautiful and overlooking the river.
While the day is perfect, some critiques include the rooms, as they require renovating; although, they are actively renovating. Half of our guests were thrilled with their rooms, the other half were disappointed as it was outdated. As the bride, we were in an older room that did not appear renovated. The bed made up for it though, super comfy! I also was not entirely happy with the break-down of our wedding, as the staff put our arch near the trash compactor, ready to be thrown away. I also lost a set of chair ceremony floral, which I planned to resell. Everything in the reception hall was put away with no issue. Lastly, we paid extra for a fire pit for the after party, and I provided all decor and items needed for a s'mores station. When the wedding ended, the fire pit was no longer burning, and all decor/s'mores items were on a table in a box, with nothing set-up. I would recommend speaking with events staff to ensure any after party decor is set up to your preferences!

The Shawnee Inn was everything we wanted in a wedding venue and more. When we toured the venue, we loved the outdoor space on the water, the ballroom and the fact that there was a brewery on-site. Tabitha, who handles weddings at The Shawnee Inn, is an invaluable asset to planning your wedding - she is a great communicator, very accommodating and made us feel at ease through the entire planning process and wedding weekend.
We had our rehearsal dinner on-site at the beer garden the night before our wedding. The setup was great, and the atmosphere was perfect for a chill hangout before the wedding.
We rented a cabin on-site where the bridesmaids stayed for the weekend/where the wedding party got ready the day-of. It served as the perfect "home base" for family members to pop in and out as well as a great hangout spot for the day.
As our ceremony was about to start, we got a pop-up summer downpour that drenched our ceremony space on the water. While it would've stressed us out, our guests were able to take cover under the pavilion to stay dry, Tabitha was already watching the weather radar and assuring us it would clear up in a few minutes, and staff were ready and waiting with towels to dry off the chairs. Despite the shower, everything was ready to go within minutes of the rain stopping, and we were able to stay on schedule because of how quickly the staff responded to the sudden storm.
We received a lot of compliments on the food as well as having ShawneeCraft beers available at the bar. While some guests rented AirBnbs in the area, many guests stayed on-site for the weekend and raved about how accommodating and kind the staff were.
Overall, our entire wedding weekend at The Shawnee Inn was absolutely incredible - would definitely recommend!!

Shawnee really is an absolutely gorgeous venue, rain or shine. Tabitha was amazing from the start (and never let onto the fact that was probably driving her crazy lol) and answered every email within hours, and made sure everything was absolutely perfect. She created a gorgeous fairytale set up on the porch because our lawn ceremony got rained out and it was absolutely gorgeous.
The front desk staff were in touch with me constantly when we were trying to figure out the booked rooms for the wedding party, making me feel like we were their top priority.
Lakisha (I hope I’m spelling that correctly) was assigned to help me and my groom with drinks and food and she went above and beyond and helped get food and drinks for not only our kids but every kid at the wedding. She went to the Photobooth with us when we asked she was dancing with us we asked she was absolutely amazing.
100% if you’re thinking about booking Shawnee just do it you won’t regret it, they are amazing

Wedding: 4/5
Our start-to-finish with the Shawnee Inn spanned more than three years, thanks to two reschedulings due to the pandemic. Overall, the communication with the wedding planner Tabitha Miller was great. She was our main point of contact and was quick to respond to my fiancée, now wife's, with concerns, questions, and changes. And there were a lot of them. We made so many revisions between our original consultation and the actual wedding day: location of the reception, style of dinner, dinner and bar packages just to name a few.
Food-wise we were pleasantly impressed when we taste tested our menu and made the final choices. The Shawnee Inn has especially good appetizers and the kitchen combined elements of a pork dish we liked to be made with chicken instead. When it came to the wedding day, we felt the appetizers were just as good as our initial tasting, but the quality of a few of the entrees suffered a little due to them being made en masse for a buffet rather than fresh from the kitchen. A few minor details, like bar mixers and which beer to stock, were overlooked but ultimately worked out fine. We opted for the lowest food option and there was more than enough food. We also went with a bar tab instead of a bar package (per person charge) and it was significantly cheaper.
We had our reception in the Riverside Sanctuary (pavilion). The only downside was it was a little buggy during dinnertime. The pavilion could benefit from some fans, bug spray, or citronella candles
Tabitha and the Shawnee were accommodating with storage space for food and decorations. We can't say enough about the wonderful staff who set up the space the day of our reception. David and the team gave life to my wife's vision, incorporating their pieces with the ones created by our florist as well as my wife. We were most thankful for how carefully they packed up the many bins of our personal decorations and stored them safely until we could pick them up. We were so thankful we didn't have anything to set up or pack away on our wedding day.
Lodging: 2/5
Prior to our wedding weekend, we hadn't stayed at the Shawnee Inn, figuring the event spaces and vibe of the resort would be reflected in the hotel's rooms. We were wrong. We stayed at the Shawnee both nights of our wedding weekend. The cost of one night's stay was included in our wedding contract and the other was $240 in early August. I was personally in 3 of the 5 rooms our wedding party occupied on different floors and in different configurations and found them all to be of a similar poor quality. Others in our party had the same complaints. The biggest issue was the 80s era air conditioning units that were noisy and didn't work. The unit in our room ran the entire weekend, set for 65 degrees and the room never got below 74. The rooms are outdated with low-end furnishings. Greater attention also needs to be paid to room cleanliness – as there were thick coatings of dust on the TV, baseboards, and curtains.
One of our guests had to switch rooms because of a damaged screen that allowed a swarm of bugs into their bathroom and bedroom, as the bugs were attracted to the light. This guest called the front desk at least twice overnight and was told there wasn't anything they could do for them. On the third attempt, they spoke to management who moved them to a cottage further away for the hotel and comped just one night of their two-night stay.

Hi Ben and Samantha! Thank you so much for your kind words, what a 3 year ride it has been...
! But I'm so glad you had a perfect day for a riverside reception and your decor ideas were so gorgeous and unique! I'm happy my team was able to help you execute your vision so well. It is our pleasure, as always!
I am sorry to hear about your room experience though...we are very aware of our shortcomings when it comes to being a 100 yr old building and we do our best to update and improve all the time. I know it can be frustrating. It's been a tough year and a half. We will be renovating rooms and bathrooms in this upcoming slow season, as well as a few other things. I hope you can visit us again sometime, I'd love to see you!
Thank you!

We had a microwedding at Shawnee and it was wonderful! All of the guests stayed the entire weekend we had dinner Saturday night, wedding Sunday, and a farewell breakfast Monday morning. They set up beautifully and everyone was extremely accommodating to anything we wanted. The views at Shawnee are perfect for wedding photos also!

It's taken me some time to figure out how to write this review. Let me start by saying that we have a timeshare in Shawnee and absolutely love the area. It's gorgeous and so we decided to have a micro ceremony at the Inn. We were completely thrilled that our preferred date was available, the choice of food was beyond my expectations, and that fact that my dog could attend was the icing on the cake.
But this wasn't a very easy process for me. I played phone tag and email tag with the wedding coordinator for the first week of trying to book, it was concerning. We were so tired of not getting her on the phone that we used a vacation day in June to actually meet face to face in hopes that we would get a better response and we did. But that was really about as far as I can go with my good comments about her.
Two weeks before my wedding, I was told that that coordinator would be on vacation and would be back the day of my wedding. This is fine, people need vacations, I wasn't upset. What broke me was the day of my wedding. My MOH and I went to the Inn at 9:00 am to speak to speak to the coordinator to figure things out. She told me she had a slow day and would be available by walkie talkie if I needed anything. When I went to drop the cake off, she was in a meeting and couldn't help. Other staff did, but I still felt off. When the reception tables still weren't set up, I went back to look for the coordinator. It felt like a horrible cat and mouse game. We had MULTIPLE staff members looking for the coordinator because we DIDN'T know what we were doing and she didn't answer her phone, walkie. We couldn't do a rehearsal because she was on vacation and she wasn't truly available for us on the wedding day. I spent the. morning crying at the front desk because it made me feel like since I was having a micro ceremony, it wasn't as important the the BIG wedding that was happening the next day.
Now I may seem petty, but while we were waiting in the lobby as finally directed, waiting to know where to go, waiting for me to walk down the aisle, the wedding coordinator was touring with the couple that was having their wedding the next day. It wasn't until my MOH was about to walk across the putting green to get the coordinator, that SHE saw us, and RAN back. If my photographer wasn't there, my guests would have still be talking while the wedding party walked down the aisle.
I am crushed that these are some of the memories I have for my special day, feeling less than by the people that are supposed to help your day go seamlessly. Suffice it to say, I can't recommend using this specific wedding coordinator. But let me end on a positive note.
The food was AMAZING. The bartender and waitstaff were kind and attentive. They brought out water for my dog and made sure everyone was taken care of. The backdrop for pictures is second to NONE.
If you are having a bigger, more expensive wedding, maybe the wedding coordinator will treat you like the superstar you are, I'm sorry that it didn't happen for my modest wedding.

Hi Erin,
I wanted to take the time to reply to you, I wish you would've spoken to me the d...
ay after the wedding when I saw you and asked how everything went as I certainly did not think you felt the way you described above. I do want to address the issues you brought up above since I never want you to feel like you are not as important as a big wedding is, of course you were. I apologize that you did not feel that from me. When I got in right at 9, you asked for me and we went over the whole day and schedule. I didn't know you were looking for me to give me the cake, I was in a meeting at that time and didn't know it was you outside my door until I came out and saw other staff members helping you. I am very sorry that I could not be "found" when you needed me for that short amount of time a little while later. I did look for you immediately upon hearing you wanted to speak to me, I went up to your room and I called and emailed you right away. I still until reading what you wrote above did not know why you were so upset and looking for me. But I was in the building and did not have my walkie for a total of an hour that day. I saw your husband and told him I went to look for you , he told me you moved out of the building, I asked if you still needed me and he said no. I thought everything was fine. Ceremony was to begin at 5:30pm on the front porch and yes I did have the next day's wedding rehearsal at 4:30 that day (they happened to start at 5pm instead) so trying to do right by BOTH of you, I told the officiate I would be back by 5:30pm since knowing you were very anxious that day I did not want to worry you or make you feel like I was putting another wedding ahead of yours...and I went down to the river to do their rehearsal. I watched the clock and yes I RAN back up to the lobby after letting the rehearsal know I had to run (which they understood) to do your ceremony (no one had to remind me, nor were you ever going to start without me, that was never going to happen). And I was back with more than enough time. I am one wedding coordinator, coordinating 2-3 weddings a weekend here at Shawnee Inn and I do my very best to make you ALL feel special and give you ALL the time and attention you need from me. I am sorry you felt slighted as that is never my intention. I've been doing this a long time and all of my brides and all of my weddings are important to me no matter how big or how small.
Thank you for choosing us and I'm glad you loved every other aspect of your wedding day here at Shawnee Inn, we have a pretty amazing staff and they all do a great job!
Thank you,
Tabitha

The Shawnee Inn is a Hidden Gem! Tabitha, our wedding coordinator, was so down-to-earth and sweet and just a talented young woman. She took my vision and made it real. The location is to die for. The backdrop of the mountains and the river will make your wedding luxurious. Do yourself a favor. Forget a tent. The Pavillion does that for you. This venue had fantastic food. The guest loved every bit of it, which I thought was super cool, considering wedding food is usually pretty gross. People got two and three plates. The drinks were constantly flowing all night. Tabitha did all of the work setting up, and it was a lot of work. The people who helped serve were so lovely, and I appreciated all of them. Everyone impressed me so much they deserve a raise! Please check out the venue. The springtime is fantastic you will not regret it.

I always dreamed of having a picture-perfect wedding in the mountains. However, I quickly realized how difficult that would be; turns out mountain venues often lack suitable lodging, and we had 160 guests attending our wedding all from out of town. Luckily, I found Shawnee Inn while looking for a banquet hall for another event, and I am so lucky that it proved to be everything I was looking for and more.
My immediate family visited in summer to take a tour and the grounds were absolutely beautiful. We stayed overnight in one of their houses and had an amazing time: fireflies danced around the grounds, the main inn was warm and welcoming with that beautiful old-world charm, and there was so much to do on the property (nightly S’mores, hiking tours, whitewater rafting, as well as plenty of locations with benches and rocking chairs to just relax and enjoy the peace of nature). We knew instantly we need to make Shawnee Inn our home base for the wedding weekend.
I don’t think you can pick the wrong season to have your wedding here. We ended up having it in winter and the property was still gorgeous. Our guests raved about the location and many promised to visit again in the future for family trips. Tabitha and her team were incredibly accommodating. We needed a lot of rooms and a lot of space for several dinners, lunches, and a large Hindu ceremony. Tabitha never hesitated to give us what we needed or wanted. We felt incredibly pampered and attended to, and everything about the wedding went off without a hitch.
The rooms are charming with that cozy feel. My bridal suite was a dream with a big Jacuzzi tub and ample space for all my outfits and accessories. Every room I visited was inviting and comfortable for our guests; it’s no wonder so many people want to come out and visit again!
Every staff member was incredibly kind and attentive. I often found myself chatting with them in the hallways as they were always eager to get to know me and congratulate me on the big day. I can’t emphasize enough how friendly everyone was, and that kindness was incredibly appreciative on what can be a very stressful day! Hindu ceremonies are large affairs, and although Shawnee Inn had never hosted a Hindu ceremony before ours, I can tell you that everything went so smoothly you would have thought that had hosted tons! They have ample space for all of the rituals and traditions; I’m confident they can handle any type of wedding thrown their way.
Do yourself the favor of having your wedding at Shawnee. I left at the end of the weekend so thankful for everything they had done, for them making my wedding so special and memorable. I will have nothing but the fondest memories for the temporary home away from home, that so lovingly housed all of my friends and families, and that gave me such a beautiful wedding day.

The Inn was a beautiful place to get married. Our guests thought the historical background of the hotel was really neat and interesting, and loved the rustic feel to the venue. Our contact, Tabitha, was awesome to work with and made planning very easy and smooth. She communicated effectively and I always felt that she listened to our needs. The pricing was very reasonable, and our guests raved about the cocktail hour food, didn’t comment too much on dinner food though, and they did run out of Miller Lite (which we made clear was the grooms favorite and would be the most popular beer choice), so that was pretty disappointing. We had a major issue with check-ins, as our guests rooms were not ready, including the for the minister, and the parents to the groom. They were told that they could get ready in a locker room that the golfers use in the basement, which is not acceptable. There was also a disagreement between the Inn and the cake vendor (turned into a screaming match outside), which the mother of the bride was taken out of the reception to intervene the argument, which was also completely inappropriate. Overall, we had a great day, the weather was perfect, with only a few issues that luckily didn’t take over the entire day.

We had our wedding in September 2018. Now that we've had time to process, here is our feedback:
Pros: Flexibility to build the day you want. Shawnee offered many ways of customizing everything, from multiple ceremony and reception spots, to the linens, to the food, and drinks. They were able to accommodate everything from vegetarian to gluten free meals. Everyone said that they enjoyed the food and the signature cocktails were a huge hit. It was an affordable option for the area and thankfully, with nice weather, we were able to enjoy the outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, and move inside for the reception. Guests kept telling us how beautiful the location was. However, we would have been sorely disappointed with the indoor spaces only, if we were forced to use them. Guests also said they enjoyed the pub and the brewery on site. We had a bonfire "welcome" the night before at the cabins our families rented which worked out really well and was a laid back and casual way to spend time with guests before the party the next day. We also did a bonfire "afterparty" which was nice. We had the option of adding food for after the reception but ended up not doing this and we were glad, because everyone said they were so full! They did a wonderful setting up with our decorations and personalized details that we spent so long gathering and crafting. The staff were all super nice and helpful! We had someone attending just to us throughout the night which we appreciated. Tabitha was very supportive throughout the whole process, too.
Cons: Because it's a public space, there is no privacy. There was no staff directing other hotel guests away from the ceremony area, which resulted in a man stripping down to his bathing suit RIGHT BEHIND THE CEREMONY area for our waiting guests all to view! Unbelievably inconsiderate. My brother had to go and ask him to move out of the way before the ceremony started - that should not have happened to begin with, staff should have been taking care of it. Although they did a great job with decorating, we felt like a little more attention could have been spent on details: things like the bar linens not matching the rest of the ones chosen detracted from the overall setup. The other disappointing thing was that there were no incentives really for guests onsite - no deals for food, the brewery, or even golf. Many other venues we looked at had deals for people attending weddings at their location. The hotel's condition is a huge drawback. The bathroom in the lobby needs a complete makeover as do the guest rooms. While we encouraged guests to stay elsewhere, some of our guests chose to stay there for convenience. While charming on the outside, the rooms are very old, unappealing., and feel dirty. The elevator was broken the entire weekend, so our elderly guests had no way of getting to their rooms. Thankfully they were able to be relocated but ended up being miserable anyway (we're still hearing about how much they were charged for such dingy quality). One of the cabins our family's rented had huge damage on the front porch which was not only unsightly but dangerous. Thankfully it was fixed upon request, but ridiculous that management felt it was ok to charge $500+ a night and leave it that way.
Overall, the accommodation costs were not worth what you get. But for the reception - we were happy with the way everything turned out! We just felt it is important to rate both because they contribute to the whole experience!

Hi Lauren!
Thank you so much for submitting your feedback. We are pleased to hear that yo...
ur September wedding was a success. We truly appreciate your feedback for areas of improvement. I am happy to report that we have been going through some renovations since the beginning of the year, addressing a lot of the concerns you mentioned. We have completed guestroom renovations to our third floor guest rooms and in our Delaware Lodge accommodations. We also just completed renovations in our Waring Room, Delaware Room, Worthington Ballroom, and our indoor pool area. Current renovations are happening right now to our first floor guest rooms and our Golf Shop, with more wonderful updates happening after these projects are completed. Thank you again for choosing our historic, family-owned resort for your wedding weekend. We have so much to offer other than guest rooms. There are so many opportunities to create a weekend you and your loved ones will never forget. The unique experiences and exceptional service provided by our staff really sets us apart. And of course, Tabitha, our Wedding and Event Specialist, is always here to help couples create wonderful memories here at our Pocono Mountains resort. We hope the newlywed life is treating you well and we look forward to welcoming you back again someday to see some of the wonderful updates and changes that have been occurring so far in 2019 to our 108 year old resort. Thank you again so much for taking the time to share your experience and for being part of the Shawnee Family! It was our pleasure to help you with your wedding!

We had our October 2018 wedding here and it was hands down the best weekend of our lives. All of the staff at Shawnee went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect and we didn't need to worry about a thing day-of. We worked closely with Tabitha, the wedding coordinator at the Inn. From the time we booked the venue up until the big day, she was super helpful, responsive, and went above and beyond to ensure every last detail was perfect. Jodi and the rest of the girls at the spa did an AMAZING job with bridal party hair and makeup, so I'd recommend using them as well. Our girl Kelly made sure we actually ate and always had drinks in our hand during the cocktail hour and reception, which was unreal and we so appreciated being taken care of like that. Importantly, everyone we encountered there was friendly, accommodating, warm, and a blast to work with. They made the entire weekend fun, carefree, and so memorable.
The grounds were incredibly beautiful for a fall wedding. Between the water, trees, and mountains in the backdrop, our photos are breathtaking. The ballroom also has this classic charm to it and so much character; it's not your stereotypical catering hall reception scene. Another perk is that there are a ton of locations on the grounds where you can host different events, which we loved. We had our rehearsal dinner and reception the night before at the Gem and Keystone restaurant (located on the same property as the Inn), then our ceremony and cocktail hour on the Front Lawn, reception in the Worthington Ballroom, and lastly our after party at the Brewery. Our guests all loved how everything was in the same location and everyone could relax and enjoy the weekend without having to worry about transportation. We also booked the Cedar and Sycamore cabins for our bridal parties to stay and get ready in - this was also a blast.
Highly, highly recommend Shawnee!! It was breathtakingly beautiful and all of the staff truly made our wedding the best day ever.

A beautiful venue for an outside fall wedding! The staff was very accommodating and especially our server Kelly!! She started with us Saturday morning with breakfast at the spa and spent th day making sure my husband and I were taken care of, and even brought our Champagne and snacks out during cocktail hour while we took pictures!! Rooms were nice and spacious, a little outdated but no complaints! Also brewery was a great spot for our afterparty as we had a early wedding!

Shawnee is a wonderful venue. Tabitha works tirelessly to ensure her brides are happy and they are getting everything they want and need at a reasonable cost. She is willing to work with you within you budget and she does a fantastic job coming up with ideas that fit your vision. She checks in when she hasn’t heard from you to ensure you have all the information you need and this proactivity relieves a lot of stress. Anyone who gets to work with her is lucky!

In reflecting on the wedding planning process, I think that the most important decision to be made is selecting the wedding venue. We didn’t realize it at the time, but deciding to have our wedding at Shawnee would turn out to be THE BEST decision we ever made. First and foremost, the venue is BEAUTIFUL. Our guests were blown away by the ceremony site and the entire grounds. However, we knew the second we visited Shawnee that it was breathtakingly beautiful. The views of the Delaware are out of this world and the grounds/building have so much charm - it’s incredible. It really felt as though it was a magical storybook wedding ceremony and we have gotten an incredible number of compliments with regard to picking Shawnee. Secondly, it is possible (and we definitely recommend) to do every wedding weekend activity at Shawnee. We decided to have our rehearsal dinner at the brewery (it was SO GREAT), a bonfire out at a cabin the night before the wedding with s’mores galore, breakfast the day before and after the wedding, and the after party also at the brewery. Everything was perfect and all we could think the entire time was “This is SO amazing.” Really, it was just SO perfect.
Furthermore, wedding planning is a grueling process. Therefore, the day itself needs to be extra awesome to make all those months of toiling and ribbon tying worth it. Having our wedding at Shawnee made this true a hundred fold. It felt as though we did not only celebrate a day and a special marriage, but also an entire weekend and the love of our family and friends as well. Not to mention, Tabitha (the wedding director/coordinator at Shawnee) is a goddess sent to this planet to make wedding days run smoothly and easily. We would be remiss without mentioning her greatness. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE TABITHA and partially wish we could take her home to organize and smoothly run our lives as well. Initially, we began our wedding process with a coordinator named Simone (who had been at Shawnee for 8 years), only to find that Simone had left Shawnee and that Tabitha would be our new wedding coordinator. At first, we were worried and a teensy bit upset (Simone was nice too and who was this new Tabitha lady?)...but soon we realized that this had been a stroke of THE BEST LUCK! Tabitha is sweet, down to earth, easy to talk to, and full of great ideas. Additionally, she is organized and - put bluntly - damn good at her job. She deserves a thousand pats on the back and a million dollar raise for the amazing work she does at Shawnee. Looking back, we can’t imagine having entrusted anyone else to run the show the day of the wedding. She is and was amazing. Seriously, we have no bad things to say about Shawnee - it is an incredible venue for a wedding and...we almost wish we could do it all over again! Also, Tabitha - thank you so much...you are truly amazing!!!

The good: flexible pricing, flexible menu, gorgeous natural setting, kitschy (if outdated) accommodations, very friendly and helpful Inn staff, brewery and brewpub on premises
Everything else: When we were finally invited to a tasting a mere two months before our wedding, it was just ok. The banquet food did not compare to the fare at the Gem and Keystone, but it was too late to change anything. Communication before our wedding was only so-so. I always assumed that weddings that were happening before ours took precedence, and I was ok with that. However, when it was time to finalize our details I felt rushed. It was almost like we were forgotten about and then squeezed in. On our wedding day Simone disappeared right after our reception entrance. She did not give our timeline to the wait staff, and after our entrance asked me when we were doing special dances, serving dinner, toasts, etc. I asked them if they had a timeline, and they said no. Why did I make a timeline and share it with Simone if she wasn't going to be at the wedding reception or share it with the staff who was? Because of this miscommunication, our bar was not open as we requested. We wanted it to close for 30 min during dinner and 30 min at the end of the reception. Simone assured us that this would work out fine, but they closed an hour before the reception ended when the party was in full swing. The wait staff also forgot all kid's meals and all 7 high chairs, despite me clearly labeling each table on the diagram Simone provided and asked me to use with highchairs and meals. I am not sure if she didn't share it with the wait staff, or if they just didn't use it. I would have hired a day-of-coordinator if I knew that Simone wouldn't be present for our full wedding day. Back when we booked I asked if we could or should hire a DOC. Simone told me that she performed that function, and I was not permitted hire an outside coordinator to work in their venue. I guess you get what you pay for?

The Shawnee staff did a wonderful job decorating our ceremony site by the river and the ballroom. The food was good too. Our only complaint was that our dinner and appetizers took long to serve. We wished we were offered an option to extend our reception by an hour. By the time they got done serving dinner we only had about an hour to dance. Everything else was great though.

Simone Colon and her team at the Shawnee were amazing! Not only was every member of her staff professional they also went out of their way to make me and my family feel welcome. Simone expertly helped me plan my wedding (let’s face it…I really didn’t know what would work and what wouldn’t; Simone helped me realize what I wanted.) and she handled all the little details leaving me time to enjoy the day. Moreover, every time I ran into her after the wedding (we all stayed the week in the surrounding timeshares) she remember me, she was gracious and friendly. I highly recommend her team, their services and the venue (it’s gorgeous!).

I had my bachelorette party catered here at the brewery! It was awesome! It was just me and my girls, delicious beer, a great bartender and great food. I would definitely recommend this place. It was unique, so much fun, and a great place to spend quality time with my best friends

Recently had my wedding here and everything was perfect! They helped my dream wedding come true. The day of my wedding i didn't have to lift a finger. Every detail they helped to take care of, from the decorations to helping with all the vendors. Simone was the perfect person to help with my wedding...I wouldnt have wanted anyone else. Absolutely no issues what so ever with the entire place. And all of our wedding pictures have the most beautiful background. We had an outdoor from the ceremony to the reception and I highly recommend it. The tent was beautiful and the location couldnt be any better. If youre looking for a beautiful stress free wedding this is your place!!

Shawnee was the second (and last) venue we looked at and decided immediately that our search had ended. Simone is the wedding coordinator.... she is so easy to work with! So many ideas and really works within your budget to make your day wonderful. The grounds were beautiful (married in July 2013) and the staff is so friendly and accomodating. I cant say enough good things about our wedding day at Shawnee!

Simone and her staff executed a flawless wedding weekend! We had our rehearsal dinner, breakfast, ceremony and reception held at the Shawnee Inn. The food was great, the service was outstanding and my guests continue to compliment us on how everything was impressive. My bridesmaids and myself had our hair and makeup done at the salon, and they did an amazing job. It was great to have everything you need in one place: rooms, salon, dinners, breakfasts, ceremony and reception all at the same place for a very reasonable price! Simone was extremely professional and knowledgeable. Our wedding could have not gone any better! Anyone would be pleased to have their wedding at the Shawnee Inn!

We were very happy with the setting and gorgeous rooms available for our winter wedding ceremony and reception! Shawnee is a magical place with a rich history. We had our rehearsal dinner at the Gem & Keystone Brew Pub on the property and had wonderful service in a friendly, family-like atmosphere.

Due to limited space at our wedding venue, the Shawnee Inn became the hotel for not only my husband and myself but members of the bridal party and out of town guests. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The Inn has so much characters and beautiful grounds as well. We also had our rehearsal dinner there and the food and service was great. One thing I really took notice to is that the toiletries they provide are made by individuals with special needs. I work in this field so to see a place like the Shawnee supporting this made it even more special.

Shawnee was a beautiful location especially for our outdoor fall wedding. The wedding coordinator was helpful, but could use some work. One thing we didn't like was the fact that they did not offer a discount for having our rehearsal, ceremony, reception and breakfast at their resort. Almost all resorts offer a discount for that. We also paid for premium open bar and they ran out of captain Morgan before dinner was over and ran out of all 5 of the beers we picked! The bartender was very rude and we also had a lot of guest complaints about the food. Unfortunately it was not as good as we would have liked, but it wasn't completely terrible either.

This was a great venue to have our wedding. It was an experience weekend of fun, laughter, and great food. All the family was from out of town and really enjoyed staying there. The food was phenomenal and the drinks as well. They are a green facility and also use many of there own homegrown veges. They also brew there own seasonal drafts. One thing I would like to add, the dance floor is a little tight if you have a big fam that likes to party. And the Worthington Ballroom itself should really be redone, all hard wood and new wall paint. They refurbished it since its 100 years old. There is controversy to keep it original or upgrade. I vote for an upgrade keeping original charm, it can be done people. All in all it was an amazing wedding weekend experience.

I'm actually kind of surprised to see the other ratings on here for this venue and how high they are. To be fair, our actual wedding day was wonderful. There were many people that work at the Inn that made our day special and we were happy in the end. But leading up to that day we doubted our decision many times and the days leading up to our wedding were very stressful because so many details were overlooked by the staff and our wedding coordinator. I don't consider myself a very organized person but I felt like I had to go above and beyond in my organization because frankly, the wedding coordinator never had it together. We had a lot of details that be brought in but we provided them all and they were never respected or organized by the staff. Frankly, on your wedding day shouldn't you be able to have what you want, not just the generic package they provide?
We had a large amount of people stay the night before the wedding and almost everyone had problems checking in or out or with booking up to arrival. We had a lot of services that we had asked for (and put in our contract and paid for) before arrival and many of them were not honored. We were embarrassed over and over because our friends kept running into customer service difficulties.
We booked this venue 14 months before our date and experienced lack of communication for all 14 months. I would send an email with 4 questions and every time, only 1-2 of them would be answered. When important dates (like payment dates in our contract) would come and go, I would reach out and the response was always "oh sure you can send money" or something equally casual. I felt like I had to babysit every step of the way. This is the last thing I wanted to have to do from over an hour away where I live.
There are lots of details I can harp on but why bother? We were pleased with the food, the setting, the bar and the rooms/cabins that we rented. We found the general manager responsive and kind. Our wedding guests were none the wiser of our stresses. I only wish we came away with a happy review rather than feeling like we survived an ordeal unscathed.

We got married at the Shawnee Inn in October. What an amazing venue. From the very first day every single staff member knew our names and bent over backwards to accomodate us in every single way. We hosted a 3 day event which culminated in our Sunday afternoon wedding. The location on the banks of the Delaware River was stunningly beautiful. The hotel was warm, the staff was amazing, I truly can't say enough good things about them. And the value was almost too good to be true. We hosted a 3 day event (including a welcome night pizza party, wine and beer for each night of the even and the reception, plus our BBQ wedding recption meal for 150 people all for under $5000. We opted to host a family reunion style wedding so we didn't use one of their wedding packages which for us was the right decision as we wanted a fairly casual wedding. They have many options in different price points and you could have anything from a casual event as we did to a formal affair. I was never once worried as every single detail was painstakenly attended to. We will continue to go back to the Shawnee for anniversaries and faily events.

The Shawnee Inn is not only a scenic location that provides nice views - it is the WHOLE package! We had our wedding ceremony there as well as our reception and we couldn't have been happier. The staff at the Shawnee was extremely wonderful - they all went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The wedding coordinator leaves no stone unturned and makes sure that the bride and groom have absolutely nothing to stress out about. Our pictures are absolutely goreous
