Shay K Events

This was the best service I have had. I enjoyed the effort out into planning and coordination of event. As the groom I barely had to lift a finger and was checked on at multiple points during the wedding to make sure I was goes and having a great time. I love it!!

Shay is on top of everything, amazing, professional, and detail-oriented. My wedding day was SEAMLESS!! Went so perfectly. She will drop everything to make sure you’re happy and you have the BEST DAY.

Shay planned my wedding and Natalie coordinate the event day of! I appreciate Shay and Natalie keeping me updated with checklists and progress dates so I never felt overwhelmed during the wedding planning process. I hired Shay K Events to coordinate my February 2024 wedding. Below is a transparent review of my experience. Pros: Responsive. Personable Initially, I felt comfortable hiring Shay K Events for wedding coordination services. However, as the wedding date approached, I started questioning her role because I was doing all the work. We had a rehearsal dinner two days before the wedding, that I had to plan because Shay didn’t. She rushed us throughout the entire thing. Cons: Disorganized Lacks attention to detail Inexperienced The reception was a mess; it was Shay's fault as the wedding coordinator. Shay K Events did not coordinate the event effectively. To give you an idea, Shay told the caterer's two servers not to serve, which resulted in the reception dinner becoming a self-serve buffet. I did not want this, as I had paid for servers to serve the guests. We ran out of food because some people took more than one type of protein. They were supposed to choose between chicken, fish, or pasta, not all three. Unfortunately, Shay hasn't taken responsibility for this mistake, even though it was entirely her fault. Since the servers did not work, the caterer refunded the $250 serving fee. Thankfully, they were cooperative. During the wedding, Shay caused chaos when cutting and serving the cake. Initially, she began cutting the cake and placing a few pieces on the table for guests to take. However, Shay's cutting skills were poor, resulting in unappealing and messy slices. To make matters worse, she abandoned the task, leaving guests to serve themselves. As a result, the dessert table looked disorganized and unsightly. Shay spent the reception eating and conversing with people. A family member spotted Shay eating a cookie from the dessert table before dinner was served, which was unacceptable. "What did she do right during the reception?" you ask. She checked on me and my now-husband several times to ensure everything was going well. We were fine, but unfortunately, she didn't have the same level of attention for the 50 guests who were left fending for themselves in the chaos. Just to clarify, I want to make it clear that I was not a bridezilla, and the wedding was semi-formal and not too demanding. After the wedding, I received messages from multiple family members expressing their disappointment with Shay. Hearing similar feedback from various people confirmed that it was not just me. Shay told me she hired an assistant at no charge to me to assist her with the wedding/reception. Shay needed an assistant to help her create chaos. I am trying to figure out what the assistant (who happens to be her sister) was doing besides eating. I am incredibly disappointed with Shay K Events and cannot express it enough. I have contacted Shay twice to discuss my dissatisfaction, but she insists she fulfilled her responsibilities per the agreement. Although my wedding was a joyful event, based on my experience and feedback from my guests, I do not recommend Shay K Events.
