I hired Sheila as the main decor vendor for my wedding in August 2023. I had fallen in love with their work on Instagram and was initially a little nervous because I hadn't seen them do too many Indian weddings. However, I saw enough on their page to make me have my wedding planner reach out. From the very first meeting, Sheila was the consummate professional. Yes, her email response times aren't the quickest for initial consultation, but her work is well worth the wait of a week or two. After meeting her and working with her, I'm convinced that the only reason she takes some time to respond to things is because she gives every single client the time and attention they would want.
Sheila met with me in person for our initial consult. I was running late and she stayed a little bit overtime to hear my vision of what I wanted. I got to tour her warehouse, which had such a unique collection of items that I haven't seen in many other decor warehouses. She took the time to figure out what I wanted and sent me a quote for it. The quote was detailed, even included optional add-ons I might like, and yes, it was slightly higher than my decor budget, but nothing unreasonable. For example, my budget was $25K for decor, the quote she gave me with all of the optional add-ons came to $30K. She was more than willing to schedule a phone call with me and go over which items would be worth it and which wouldn't so that we could stay closer to our budget.
I was also nervous about our venue in general, but she made me feel much better by doing a site visit with me - something that any other vendor would have turned down. She did the site visit, took the measurements she needed and even made suggestions from her original consult on what would look good.
My last in person meeting with her was my decor mockup. I walked in there completely astounded at the level of detail and care she took for a simple mockup. I loved the different options presented to me and both my fiance and I had a great time and left feeling very confident.
The week of my wedding, we had a major vendor drop out and while we were scrambling due to budget issues and other things at that time, she was calm, collected, and worked with us on what she could for our wedding. She even checked in on us right before our reception to see how we liked everything.
I cannot express how much we loved Sheila's involvement with our wedding. Even when a million things went wrong, I knew I could trust her to deliver on our wedding day and she did.
Good decor but not worth the price and inconsiderate service we received.

If I you’re thinking about booking Sheila Burki DONT! Booking her was the worst mistake of my life! We spent a lot of money on her for our wedding and she’s terrible. She was not flexible with my schedule when it came to seeing the decor staging. But when things came up in her life I had no choice but to change scheduled appointments. (keep in mind we paid her sooo much money but she wasn’t willing to stay an extra 30 minutes for me to view our staging decor) She’s very RUDE. When I tried to get in contact with her she told my wedding coordinator that she did not want me to call her phone. She’d rather be communicated to by email. However, she takes DAYS to respond to emails. My wedding decor was NOT worth the money I paid her. The decoration was very BASIC. And to top it off... she notified us FIVE days before our wedding that she didn’t have enough of the chairs we picked for our wedding SMH! So we had to pick chairs that we didn’t want and all of the chairs didn’t match! She had MONTHS to figure out she didn’t have enough of the chairs. She’s very unprofessional, unorganized, and unreliable. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!
If I could give them negative stars, I would. I hired Sheila for my wedding and I can honestly say her and Bilal should be ashamed. They showed us pictures of the furniture we would be getting for the reception and the pictures were beautiful. We asked to see the product in person so they begrudgingly took us to their warehouse and the stuff was filthy! Their excuse was "the dirt won't show under the lighting". Despite making an appointment to review flowers with me, Sheila never showed up and sent Bilal who couldn't answer a single question. When we asked for our deposit back since they couldn't deliver what we had originally agreed on, they refused. Please please please save your money and don't use this company.
Best decision ever to hire Sheila and Bilal to do my wedding decor! So professional and the decor was so beautiful and perfect on my wedding. Forever grateful for their work on my wedding day
ABSOLUTELY Amazing! Those were the two words i first thought when i walked into my wedding hall on the day of my wedding. The decor that Sheila & her staff did for me was stunning. I had no complaints. everything got done on time and they were professional about it too. I also enjoyed working with them throughout the months leading up to the final day. Sheila & bilal were super friendly the day we met and made me feel confident in all the decor i chose out. Sheila gave me suggestions on what table cloths to use, and i took her professional advice and loved what turned out. To see it come to life took my breath away. I felt like a princess walking into the room with all stunning florals and amazing stage. Afterwards I got many compliments from my guests about it too. I was more than happy. I would definately recommend this company to a future bride looking for amazing decor!
I was completely in love with this company and what they did for my wedding! Bilal was so cooperative, he worked with me so much on giving me everything I wanted for my dream wedding! On the day of I couldnt believe how they nailed every single detail so perfectly. I was sitting on my wedding stage just sending them so many blessings for what BIlal and Sheila did for me. THank you for everything guys, you were truly a blessing!!!!!
We hired Sheila Burki Designs to decorate for our reception. Lets start from the very beginning:
When we first initiated contact with Sheila Burki, response from them was extremely slow. We felt as if we were more of a burden to them than anything else. And despite the negative feedback we received from friends of ours as well as the owner of the hall where we had our reception about Sheila Burki, we still decided to move forward with them. When we finally explained to them what we wanted and did not want through emails and picture exchanges, we finally received our quote.
Fast forward to reception day. Sheila Burki told us they needed 5 hours to set-up the decorations. They were given access to the hall by 12 PM on the day of the reception. They did not show up until after 1:00 PM. When my wife and I arrived at the hall at 5:00 PM for family pictures, the decorations were not complete. There were two side chairs missing (when we asked their employee where the chairs were he looked so confused and had to call Bilal to find out what we were talking about, they finally brought it to us by 6:00 PM after guests already started walking in), there was candles everywhere when we specifically asked for no candles, the stage was dirty (clearly from the decorators setting up, but they didn't bother to clean it after they were done), the glass stands along the isle had filthy sticky spots all over them and the biggest thing was that our stage decoration looked different from what we wanted. Their excuse was that the stage was too small to fit what we wanted. Sheila Burki has worked at the hall before so they clearly knew the size. If they felt that the decorations we had requested would not be a good fit, they should've notified us right away but they decided to their own thing.
When we contacted Sheila Burki after the reception to point out our disappointment with their service they ignored our email. When I sent them another email threatening to leave negative reviews, they responded back within an hour. Their response was, for a lack of a better word, pathetic. They blamed their shortcomings on on everyone else but themselves. They did not accept blame at all for anything. I responded to their email and responded to every excuse they made for the issues we had. They have yet to respond to that email.
I would suggest anyone thinking of hiring Sheila Burki to strongly reconsider. They are arrogant and unprofessional. Might as well spend your money elsewhere.
This is my very honest review of Sheila Burke Wedding Decor- the good and the bad. They have a lot of good and some areas they could improve in.
Areas of Improvement:
- I was most disappointed in my missing decor the day of the wedding. I was told even in writing I would receive a sofa with two chairs I only received the sofa , candles around my table were missing even though i was told this in writing too, the most upsetting was the flower wall behind my sweat heart table I had two flower walls in my invoice but only received one :( when I asked Sheila about it the day of my wedding she did not even apologize even after I showed the invoice just said that she would have to check wit Bilal. I specifically spoke with both Sheila and Bilal about this prior to the wedding to make sure that I was billed for two separate flower walls. This nearly had me in tears the day of my wedding.
- Very slow to answer emails. I often had to text Bilal and ask him to respond to emails that were sent over a week before
- Invoice Errors- There was confusion with our invoice, changing of the total, ect. Even emails 1 week prior to the wedding stating different invoice totals then those we received previously
-Overall poor customer service
The positives:
-Very good selection of decorations
- They did a great job on the floral for the wedding they were big, fresh, and fabulous.
-They have competitive pricing and worked with my budget
-linens were very lovely clean and pressed
-Overall decorations came out good and I received compliments
Sheila Burki Decor Co. did my wedding reception decoration. There were many things that could have been done in a much better way - on the day of event the decors showed up with wrong color table linens (different from what we decided during the mock-up); the linens were stained with grease, torn, wrinkled and I had to ask the decorators to change them (which they did but few not all). Finally the linens were brought with additional colors that I didn't planned on having (to compensate I was given few upgrades but it did change the entire theme of my event). No final walkthrough was done (after the decor was setup) as I was told initially. The cake table was very plain and was charged higher than it should. Sheila told me that we will review the mistakes after the event and I have never heard from her or Bilal. After the event was over my calls were not responded. Due to lack of responsibility, responsiveness, and professionalism I would NOT recommend them to anyone.
I booked Sheila for decor and was sooooo happy! We met with several decorators before choosing and I know I made the right choice. I loved her design style, she came up with some many new trendy ideas that hadn't been done before and that's what i really wanted, a true event designer! Couldn't find a single thing wrong on the day of, Sheila is the best money I spent through out my wedding process!
My friend recommended me to Sheila Burki and I decided to go with her. She did a great job. I booked a stage design, uplighting, and some center pieces. She did tell me she's not a florist, but the arrangements turned out just like the picture I showed, probably better! Everything was high quality and pictures turned out beautiful. Tons of compliments. Very happy bride!!
Reserved uplighting, centerpieces and linens from SBWD, everything was fab! The linens were neatly pressed, the centerpieces were gorg and the uplighting looked great. The best thing about Sheila B was her cooperation, ideas she brought to the table, and she threw in so many extras at our wedding, which I of course loved!
I purchased a groupon for the candy bar and it was missing the tongs to serve the candy, our initials at the front, ribbon tied around the vases and the thank you sign for our guests. It was very basic, many guests thought we did it ourselves it was just very plain and simple and nothing to it. The picture that is shown in the groupon and her website is not the candy bar we received. She also did my chair covers and center pieces those were very nice. I did send her an email about the candy bar and she never replied.
Sheila burki wedding decor did my chair covers, linens and CPs. The CPs were over 4ft high, got so many compliments on them! She did a venue site walk through, which no other designer offered to do, and really helped with planning out my decor. She's doing my brothers wedding this December, 2012!
Sheila Burki did linens, non floral centerpieces, lighting, and fabric draping for me! She was SO helpful and sweet. She came up with ideas to enhance my vision, not change it! Which is what other designers were trying to do. She stayed closely within my budget and definitely delivered on the day of. Loved working with her and would highly recommend her to anyone in the Houston area. She does alot of diff things, wedding favors, stage set ups, and extra decor around the venue.
