This venue was nothing but beautiful ! The whole process was excellent & not overwhelming. Alana Norris did an outstanding job on making things come together for me and my husband Roy! The staff were very nice and welcoming . It turned out great and beautiful ! Thank you to Alana for working with us and our budget and little timing . We had an amazing reception at the Sheraton Orlando North Hotel. Alana was the coordinator and she made sure that my husband and I did not have to lift a finger the day of the wedding. She even stood guard by our sweetheart table to make sure we could enjoy our dinner at the reception! Even down to waiting for our arrival with glasses of champagne for us as we got out of the limo, she made sure our experience was one to remember. The food was absolutely delicious and the ballroom space turned out absolutely gorgeous. Overall a wonderful experience!
This hotel was the only hotel near our wedding venue that had a free shuttle service to the venue so it was our top choice. Their restaurant An Tobar is delicious, a great happy hour location, and their wedding block rates were pretty good. Everyone who stayed here said their rooms were nice, they enjoyed the pool and their stay.
However - getting to this 3 star review has been a process. Again, we chose this hotel because of the convenience of the shuttle. We signed a contract because we thought that is what you do to get a wedding block only to find out later it is NOT so THINK about this before you sign with them. They made us promise a certain number of rooms will be filled otherwise WE would be on the hook for up to 90% of their lost rooms - even though they were going to open the block up 30 days before the stay would occur!
They charge $17 for breakfast - something we couldn't afford for all our guests nor did our guests have any intention of paying!
They then wanted to charge us for the shuttle to reserve it even though the venue was within the free 3 mile distance from the hotel. We didn't pay to reserve and got the hotel to extend the shuttle time by 30 minutes which was a plus.
They were awful communicators with me having to email them up to 3-4 times just to get a response.
If you choose to have this hotel for your wedding block, just be absolutely sure you're promised headcount is feasible, that the shuttle service is within the 3 miles distance or you are prepared to reserve it for a fee, and that you have someone IN ORLANDO who can drop in and talk to someone rather than wait and wait for a response.
This venue was perfect for our needs.
We were able to have the rehearsal dinner in a hospitality suite, wedding and cocktail hour in the beautiful atrium, banquet in a good sized room, after party in AnTobar Pub and brunch the following day all under one roof! This was especially important to us as we had 80% of our guests traveling from out of town to attend the wedding.
The staff was outstanding and responded to ALL our needs. We did have to go back and forth regarding the details of the contract several times. However, every detail was provided as promised and the entire hotel staff was professional and courteous.
They were a nightmare to deal with from the beginning. Our guests were told there were no rooms left even though less than 50% of our block was booked! Some of our guests didn't get their wedding welcome bags (they were given to guests not there for our wedding!). I had to take up all of my bags and huge dress after asking for a bellman repeatedly and after waiting 30 minutes in the lobby after we checked in! The drains in the showers didn't work. My husband's room was full of ants. And the bartender in the lobby bar told us on Friday they were open til 3am and guest on Saturday were told that the bartender didn't feel like working anymore so she closed at 11. The guest bought beer elsewhere and left all of the bottles on the bar to let them know how much revenue the bar lost out on!! Do NOT stay here. And some of our guests found cheaper rates online than they got in our "discounted" block!
