I continued with broadcasting while moving into the club scene with residencies or guest spots at notable Cleveland venues like Smart Bar, Phantasy, Metropolis, Peabody's, Odeon, The Agora, Uptown (Bowling Green) & guest spots in Detroit, Toronto, Pittsburgh & Chicago. I combined my passion for making people dance, my mixing skills from clubs, and radio announcing voice into wedding DJing and have loved it ever since!

all of our guests said our wedding had the most people on the dance floor that they’ve seen at a wedding! ted kept the party going and got everyone dancing while also helping to ensure the entire day ran smoothly.

Ted was attentive to every detail. We had nuances to our wedding…the bride and groom are both deaf….and he made sure the experience was tailored to them so that they could enjoy everything. He came up with ideas to make the event special for them. The music was hopping and our dance floor was always filled.

y! Ethan and Nicole are such wonderful people- Nicole has the most contagious laugh. Absolutely made my day to see their joy and how happy all of their friends and family were for them. I shouldn't say this out loud, but the real secret sauce to a successful reception isn't the DJ! It's friends and family. Everyone there made things so amazingly special for Ethan and Nicole- I was honored to play a small role in the day.

We hired Ted and soundproof entertainment for our wedding in August 2024. He did a fantastic job and kept the dance floor full all night long! Ted is super helpful during the planning process and gives a lot of suggestions if you need them! He gives you a detailed schedule of the day and really worked with our venue and staff well. We made a few last minute changes to the day and he was so flexible and made those changes flawlessly! We would 100% hire him again. We also got the photo booth through soundproof and our guests had an absolute blast! We love having all those pictures as a keepsake!

We hired them for our wedding last weekend! The crowd loved the music they were dancing most of the night! He played a mix of all the music the people love and took my family’s music requests! He always has everything handled and did a great job. Such a great night!

We used Ted for our wedding on 06.29.2024 and he was amazing. The planning process was extremely easy and Ted was very helpful. He handled our ceremony and reception and it could not have gone better. He worked with our officiant and venue to make sure everything went smooth. He also helped with our reception time that went flawless. His playlist kept everyone on the floor all night. I would highly recommend using Ted and Soundproof.

I cannot say enough about our big day and how incredible you made every bit of it. You are beyond talented at what you do and made us feel like family- not just another couple at another wedding! From the sound set up for our ceremony at our venue to orchestrating guests to cocktail hour and the incredible wedding party introductions and special dance requests we had- personalizing it for me and helping me through that. And of course, the entertainment on the dance floor. You came in clutch with our Celine Dion request and it was epic! We thank you so much for spending your time with us on our special day. We booked SoundProof for our November 4th wedding and honestly they exceeded our expectations. Ted was amazing through the whole planning process. He even let us customize our ceremony music so that our wedding was 100% us from start to finish. During the reception and days after we got so many compliments on our music and how awesome the DJ was. The photobooth was amazing too, and you get a book of the pics with messages and digital photos too! Run don't walk if you have the opportunity to book them for your event!

Our DJ services at our wedding were phenomenal. Ted was very professional, well dressed, played the style of music we wanted along with our requests, and did it all at a volume level that was perfect for the event. The planning period before the wedding were very helpful and the day unfolded perfectly. If we had to do it all again, we would definitely stick with Soundproof for our DJ services!

Let me tell you a few things about SoundProof, specifically Ted. This company and Ted are amazing!! Once we booked with Ted, he explained the whole process. Even through some big changes, Ted was there for an immediate phone call to discuss the changes. A week before, we had a video call to go over everything especially the timeline. With having a Sunday afternoon wedding, we knew and understood the vibe might be different than a traditional Saturday night wedding. But let me tell you, the music and the selection was amazing. Ted figured out the vibe and ran with it. We had people on the dance floor for 2 hours! We knew we selected the right DJ when after the ceremony, he checked in with us to make sure we were still on schedule or if we want to push anything up or back. Plus, he matched our colors! It’s the little things that make a big difference. We are so happy we went with Ted and SoundProof!! Thank you for making our day so special!

Ted was the first DJ we talked with in planning for our wedding and we immediately liked him. While we still talked to a few more DJs, we knew that we wanted to work with Ted and Soundproof Entertainment. He was so easy to work with and offered the advice that we needed. He walked us through the process of selecting our ceremony and reception songs and had every song that we requested for those special moments. Everything - from the outdoor ceremony to the grand entrance to the toasts to the cake cutting to the first dance to getting our guests on the dance floor - ran seamlessly. Ted gave us updates as needed and worked with our officiant, photographer and venue to make sure everything ran well - and we didn’t need to coordinate anything. He made sure that everyone was ready for the entrances, toasts/speeches and dances. The playlist was exactly what we envisioned and we loved dancing to all of the 90s and 2000s music! The photo booth was a huge hit and we loved getting the book with the proofs - and an email from Ted following the wedding with the digital proofs. We got married on August 12, 23 and had Ted from Soundproof Entertainment. He did a fantastic job. He has great communication and was able to make last minute changes for us due to the weather. He also kept the dance floor going and I don't think any of my guests sat down. We also upgrade to the photobooth and I think it's the best photobooth you could get for a wedding and it's at a great price. Would 100% hire again .

We had the pleasure of having Ted Karter as our DJ. We are out of state and had to plan our wedding from Maryland and it was stress free. Ted has everything set up online for you to plan your music playlist easily to include other small details for your special event! There wasn’t a single thing we would have had Ted do differently for our wedding, everything ran smoothly and beautifully! The music was great, guest had a wonderful memorable time! Ted truly made our night unforgettable. He was polite, nice and accommodating. Ted made us feel very much so comfortable and confident that we were going to have the best night of our life! Very glad we went with SoundProof Entertainment for our wedding reception and can't recommend them enough! From the pre-wedding planning through the reception itself, the entire process was great and we wouldn't have changed anything. Ted was very accommodating with our a-typical request of a movie soundtrack trivia game during dinner. He also took our request to keep the music safe for young ears very seriously, which we and our guests appreciated. We had some different song requests, but he incorporated them at the perfect time during the open dance time. My husband isn't much of a dancer, but Ted diligently played us slow songs when we were both near the dance floor to ensure we had dance time together during the reception.

We're so glad we went with Soundproof for our wedding! They did our ceremony and reception and both were wonderful. Ted was great to work with for planning and Evan and Geoff did a great job on the day of the wedding. We had a large wedding party (10 on each side) and everyone's names were pronounced correctly for entrances. We also had some very specific and less popular songs for our first dance, mother/son dance, and specific requests for our 2 year old son that weren't originally in the Soundproof library that they made sure to get for us! Everyone was dancing all night--even including family members we had never seen dance before! Thank you for being such an important part of making our favorite day so great!

DJ Ted was amazing help for my husband and I as we began our wedding planning process. He was the first DJ we spoke to, and helped us understand the process and what steps we needed to take, before we had even booked with him! He was so great with us, we never spoke with another DJ, and we booked with him after one phone call. I referred him to another friend of mine who was beginning the planning process, and she also booked with Soundproof. He helped us nail down our initial schedule (which is not as easy as it sounds) and the day of our wedding he was seamless between songs, and was very much on top of keeping us on track for the evening! He did an amazing job taking all of our requests into consideration and put together an absolutely perfect transition between entrances of the bridal party into the reception (we had seven sets of groomsmen and bridesmaids as well as parents entrances and our entrance as well, each had a different song. Ted did a phenomenal job of accommodating not only multiple songs, but also putting together a mix of all of these songs in advance so the bridal party could practice in advance!). I will happily recommend Soundproof Entertainment to anyone looking for a DJ that not only can keep everyone dancing, but also help guide you through one of the most exciting days of your life! We found Soundproof through a random search on Theknot and it was the BEST decision we made! Ted was super accommodating in meeting with us since we were living out of state. Their client portal was comprehensive and easy to use, which made it one of the more exciting wedding prep things to do. DJ Brian was also awesome and had people on the dancefloor literally the entire night. Even with last minute additions, the night went smoothly thanks to Brian and Ted. Thanks for an amazing night!

Ted was absolutely AMAZING! He really kept things hopping the entire night and we had numerous comments from our guests about how great the music was. The uplighting and projected monogram really helped set the mood and made a beautiful added touch. The Photo booth was a HUGE hit with our guests as evidenced by all the photos! Ted was amazing!! He was easy to get in contact with and always extremely helpful. You can tell that he knows exactly what he is doing. He was able to accomodate all requests and made sure to give us the personalized experience we wanted. We found Ted when attending a wedding a few years ago.. as soon as we left the wedding we decided that he would have to be our DJ too! His prices are very reasonable and worth every penny. I would definitely recommend Sound Proof Entertainment. People are still talking about how much fun our wedding was. We had a full dance floor the entire night!

We hired Soundproof Entertainment as recommended by our venue. Let me tell you, they did NOT disappoint. Ted was our DJ and we utilized their Photo Booth services as well. Ted was great to work with. The site they use is easy to navigate and the 2 phone calls we had with him were quick, easy, and effective. He answered all our questions and reached out to us in a timely manner always. The songs we wanted played for our bridal dances, cake cutting, entrances, garter/bouquet toss, etc. were all available. We also picked 15 songs that we absolutely wanted played during our reception dancing and we heard every single one. Our dance floor was PACKED the entire night. I had so many people complement the music and how awesome the Photo Booth services was. I HIGHLY recommended Ted and SoundProof entertainment. They made our reception and fun and enjoyable time that we always dreamed about and we had many guests tell us our reception was the most enjoyable reception they have ever been at. So happy with Soundproof! Ted was fantastic. He was very quick to respond to every question we had, and he completely customized everything to what we asked for. Every song we wanted (and didn't want) was played, and he was more than willing to add our custom choices for the cake/dances/entrances. He checked in with us throughout the evening to make sure the volume levels were right as well as keeping us on track for the different special moments at the reception. We also go a photobooth and it was amazing!

We had DJ Ted for our wedding and he was absolutely amazing. I’ve known Ted for years we worked together previously so it was amazing getting someone to DJ that we knew. He did an INCREDIBLE job! He took the time to type up a day of itinerary with the timeline of the whole day and made sure we had all the songs we wanted. We couldn’t have asked for a better night and it was all because of him. I highly recommend this company they will make your night absolutely perfect! You wont regret it!

Ted with SoundProof Entertainment served as the DJ at our wedding (both ceremony and reception) and he was absolutely perfect! From the moment we selected SoundProof Entertainment as our DJ, Ted was extremely responsive and professional. The initial process of determining what equipment was needed for our big day was seamless, and the pricing was beyond fair for the quality of the service. The equipment was top grade for both the ceremony and reception. Ted arrived well ahead of when he needed to in order to have everything set up and ready to go, eliminating any stress on our end regarding our sound system and music. Ted did a phenomenal job keeping things moving on time throughout the night, made no mistakes introducing the wedding party, and was very good at communicating with us to make sure we were happy with how things were going. As it relates to dancing, Ted kept the entire dance floor full for the duration of the reception, and the song selection was perfect for both a young and older crowd. We absolutely loved working with Ted, and recommend him as the lead DJ at all weddings! Thank you for helping make our day perfect Ted!

We selected SoundProof entertainment for our wedding and we're very glad we did! Evan was our DJ and he was incredibly helpful leading up to the wedding. He was always available to talk if we had any questions or concerns. Not only was he great to work with, he was an awesome DJ as well! He did a great job keeping people on the dance floor throughout the night. Overall, I highly recommend them!

We worked with DJ Ted for our wedding ceremony and reception. The online wedding planning form was easy to follow and understand. When we did have questions, they were always answered within 24 hours. About 5 weeks before the wedding, we did a Zoom meeting with DJ Ted to meet him and go over the planning form and finalize everything. He provided us with a schedule of events he tends to follow but allowed us to edit it as needed. The week of the wedding, he graciously contacted us twice to ask if there was anything we wanted to change since the Zoom meeting and check in if we had any other questions or concerns. We felt like he was excited to make our wedding day special and memorable. DJ Ted had never been to our venue before, so he arrived extra early to ensure his equipment was set up and everything was ready to go. During the reception, he checked in with us multiple times to ensure we were happy with the music selection, ask what time we wanted to do the different activities we had planned (anniversary dance, garter toss, bouquet toss), or ask if there was anything else we needed from him. A wedding DJ is a big decision because they are essentially in charge of the night, and Soundproof Entertainment was a fantastic choice. We hired Ted from Soundproof Entertainment as the DJ for our wedding and we could not be more satisfied with that decision. Ted was organized, on-time, professional and an overall masterful DJ. SoundProof Entertainment did such an amazing job! We talked with Ted about the style, vibe and music genres we were interested in and he NAILED it! With so may other things to worry about leading up to the wedding (during a pandemic, no less) it was so nice to feel like we were in great hands and that he really understood what we were looking for. They do have great online planning tools if you want to be more hands on, though! Their set up was so professional and he and his assistant were both so personable. It is a month later and every time I see someone from the wedding the first thing they do is RAVE about the music and how much fun it was dancing! Everyone thought I handpicked the playlist! Nope! No time for that! LOL! Ted just picked up on what we were wanting and made it happen! It was perfect! Do not hesitate in booking them for your next event! I can assure you that you will be very happy when you choose to book them!!!

They did amazing for our wedding reception. Absolutely professional. Played a variety of music as we asked. And we’re very polite and professional when it came to planning. Checked in multiple times before our event date to make sure we didn’t need anything else. I highly recommend!

We met this vendor at a bridal expo and they were FANTASTIC. Ted was our DJ and, especially with all the COVID obstacles, he was very patient and prompt with all requests. We utilized up-lighting and an extra speaker, the venue looked spectacular and our guests were dancing all night long!

We used SoundProof Entertainment for our wedding October 12, 2019 and they did an amazing job! We hired them for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and and reception and they exceeded our expectations! Ted was our DJ (but have been to other weddings with different DJs in their company and they are all great!) and he was easy to get ahold and communicate with, very professional, and greatest of all, kept the party going all night long! He listened to all our requests and played everything we wanted! It was easy to plan with them via their planning form and if we had any changes they accommodated it. Would definitely recommend this group of professionals!

Where do I even begin with John at Soundproof Entertainment....HE IS AMAZING! John was great from the beginning, made sure we understood everything, helped set up our day of wedding schedule, went over every detail for the wedding day and made sure that the surprises that my husband and I had planned for each other went smoothly. He listened to the guests and kept them on the dance floor ALL NIGHT! John is the best you will find!!!

Soundproof entertainment did a PHENOMENAL job at our wedding in September 2018. This was the first and only DJ we met with and knew right away they would be the perfect fit, complete professionals in every way! We were able to customize our ceremony music (which John handled wonderfully) as well as our wedding playlist. I even had a playlist on Spotify with our dinner music that he used directly. We got our photobooth through Soundproof which everyone loved. We had so many compliments on our DJ, John, other engaged guests asked for his info! I can’t stress enough how amazing these guys are!

We were very impressed by John and Crystal, and our DJ, Brian - our sit-down meeting with him went excellently. It was obvious that he had a tremendous amount of experience but also cared about our input and what we thought our guests would enjoy. He was clearly organized ahead of time but also flexible during the reception with slight changes to the plan. He did a fantastic job of getting people of all ages out onto the dance floor and keeping them there (one of my friends said that ours was one of the best in this, of all the wedding receptions she's been to).
