While shadowing her Uncle and learning the trade firsthand from within his catering company, Katie discovered she had also fallen in love with the art of hospitality. For Katie, much like she is experiencing as she raises her two young boys; the reward is in being there through it all. From receiving an initial inquiry through planning each detail and into the big day, itself, Katie loves using the skills she’s honed with Saz’s for over a decade to truly make dreams reality.

South Second was EXTREMELY accommodating with everything they did. We had to make changes to meals the day before and they were so helpful. Our wedding was perfect and everything we wanted and more. All our guests commented on how great the food was and how professional everyone was. We especially loved having our ceremony and cocktail hour outside. The new space is gorgeous. We highly recommend south second to everyone.

We had the most incredible experience hosting our wedding at South Second. From the moment we toured the venue, we knew it was the perfect place for our big day. Everything was even more beautiful than we imagined, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Excellent Wedding Coordinator: A huge thank you to Michelle—our wedding coordinator—who made the entire planning process so much easier! From the very start, she was organized, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our day as perfect as possible. Michelle was there for every little detail, from timeline planning to last-minute adjustments, ensuring that everything flowed seamlessly. We never had to worry about a thing on the day, which allowed us to truly enjoy every moment. The New Outdoor Area: We were absolutely in love with the new outdoor space at South Second. The patio/bar/terrace was the perfect setting for our ceremony and cocktail hour. It added such a fresh and airy feel to the day, and our guests couldn’t stop talking about how gorgeous it was. The transition from the ceremony to the reception was flawless, with plenty of space for everyone to enjoy the celebration. The Venue Itself: Not only is the venue stunning, but the service and attention to detail were exceptional. The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure our guests were comfortable and well taken care of throughout the evening. Everything about our wedding day was fantastic. The venue is beautiful on its own so we kept our decor minimal. Bridal suite, loft area, outdoor patio and outdoor loft area...all amazing! Michelle was BEYOND accommodating to our many questions, meetings, and dietary restrictions when carefully crafting our non-traditional wedding food stations. The staff were so friendly and on top of their game all night. The bartender was hands down one of the best bartenders! Our out of town/state family and friends raved about the space! I wouldn't change a single thing about the planning process and day of the wedding. 12/10 would HIGHLY recommend!

While we were touring a rehearsal dinner/welcome party venue, we met Jaime from Saz's as she stepped in for the tour due to our very limited availability, and she was LOVELY! Such a wealth of knowledge not only on the space but also the industry as a whole. South Second is such a great new venue! They added a beautiful outdoor addition and I loved the garage doors that could open to bring in the natural air and light from the outside! I highly recommend checking it out.

The team at South Second was exceptional. I decided on this venue well over a year before my actual wedding date. Amber and Michelle made it super easy to see the venue, ask questions and change anything around. They both were super nice and accommodating. I love having the venue and catering all in one, which made it super easy. The one month meeting was very fluid and organized, given that I was an indecisive and last minute bride. I appreciated their patience overall. One draw back was that with our rental we were allowed in the venue at 2pm, which was later than I wanted but my amazing florist and family made everything work. Once we arrived on site, South Second had everything ready to go. Our day of coordinator Gabby was AWESOME!! She checked on me constantly, asked if we needed anything and any questions or request I had they went above and beyond to try and fulfill. I am grateful that while I was stressing out like crazy in my head, their team was very organized and just knew what to do. The partial flip of the room was very seamless and clean up was a breeze. Overall I had a beautiful wedding. Thank you South Second!

I had my wedding here on a Friday in November and it was incredible. We were able to use the space the day before for our rehearsal which was a major plus. The entire staff was so welcoming! Michelle was easy to work with and responded fast to all my questions. The food on the day of our wedding was so good and came out hot which is not always the case for buffet. 10/10 recommend.

It was beautiful and amazing placed. The only thing I wish had was more flexibility on picking vendors for food. There should be some options of rental place and pick your own food but I understand since it’s owned by the food vendor they have. The food was amazing and the bartender service was too! They definitely did good work since they received a lot of tips.

How an organization responds when faced with difficult situations is a good test of their professionalism, quality, and flexibility, and Saz's/South Second was excellent in those categories when our wedding had to be postponed due to my husband testing positive for covid the day prior to our wedding in October 2022. They were very responsive when things took a big last minute turn and I am grateful they stuck by us during unfortunate circumstances. They were prompt and attentive when rescheduling our wedding to the following year and the venue itself was an excellent space to host our guests in. The space is beautiful (loft, patio with string lights, clear garage doors) and functional. We hosted both our ceremony and reception there (room was flipped) and the space worked perfectly for the size of our wedding (100 was breathable but plenty more could fit comfortably). It is all on the ground level/accessible (outside of the loft) and there is a bridal suite in which 6 or more can sit comfortably at a time. The staff was very helpful throughout the event and proactively ensured our needs were met and we were having a good time. And of course, the food is excellent. There are so many options when it comes to menu selections and they all taste delicious. The only note to make is there is only street parking available. We were told there would be about 10 spaces in the Saz's staff lot available to us day-of, however these spaces weren't available. This was not a big deal to us especially given how wonderful Saz's was in every other category, though worth noting to guests in advance.

My now husband and I fell in love with South Second as soon as we walked in the door! The modern/industrial vibe was exactly what we were looking for and it is nicely located in Walkers Point in Milwaukee. Communication with Michelle, the venue coordinator was great! She responded quickly to emails, answered all my questions, and made sure we felt prepared for the big day. Another big plus about choosing South Second was that Saz’s handled all of the catering/bar. The food was AMAZING! We were able to choose 3 custom stations and our guests could not stop raving about the food. I would highly recommend South Second and Saz’s catering!

If we could give South Second a rating higher than 5 stars we definitely would! We chose South Second as the reception venue for our wedding and couldn't have been happier with the decision. The space itself is beautiful and well located in Walker's Point - our guests appreciated the close proximity to downtown! Michelle made planning and preparing for the day a breeze. Between answering initial questions about the venue, assisting with setting up the food tastings, explaining differences in the food and drink packages, and finally discussing every final detail of the reception itself, she was a pleasure to work with! Michelle provided timely responses to all our inquiries and was EXTREMELY patient and gracious in helping us make decisions along the way - we couldn't have done it without her. In addition to the great venue and great staff - the food Saz's provided for the event cannot go undiscussed. Between the various passed appetizers, the salads, the entrees, etc- the food was definitely a highlight for us and for the guests! Multiple guests commented during the reception and in the days following how phenomenal the food was. The great food and food service put the cherry on top of an already great event. We cannot recommend South Second and Saz's highly enough!

I am a HUGE fan of everything about this place and the people who work here! From our initial contact with Karin to working with Michelle, who did such a brilliant, great job on our wedding and her grace and patience having to deal with us - thank you!! South Second was a beautiful place to get married. They offer many options and you can literally make it your dream wedding of what you want done there. The food was amazing and all of the workers were just so kind and friendly throughout the entire night. Brielle was there to help with the wedding night and did such a perfect job with making sure all the details and timings were on track! We were thrilled with South Second for numerous reasons. 1) During the initial planning phases when we were looking for a venue, the Sazs team was extremely responsive and transparent. A lot of the other venues we toured were very vague about costs, what was included, etc. South Second had everything outlined and detailed clearly, was willing to share that information with us, and could answer our questions easily and quickly. There were no hidden costs or surprises for us. It took away a lot of our stress. 2) Working with Michelle was so wonderful. She was easy to reach, and she worked with us to get the best value for what we wanted. Not to mention she worked well with our day of coordinator and vendors. 3) THE FOOD! I can’t tell you how many compliments we received on all the food. I’m still dreaming about our late night appetizer station, which the staff made sure we got some of after mingling with our guests. This leads to 4) The staff. Hands down incredible. Our guests felt attended to when they arrived, and my husband and I were taken care of as well. Michelle and servers made sure we had what we wanted to drink and that we didn’t go hungry. South second is the perfect venue if you’re looking for the downtown, urban vibe without the exorbitant price tag. Multiple times throughout the night my husband and I just looked around and soaked in how perfectly our vision was captured. Our day was nothing short of perfect and South Second/Michelle/The Sazs Team was a huge reason for that. Thank you!!

Michelle and the whole Saz’s South Second Team did a fantastic job with my husband and my wedding. Whenever I sent an email or called with questions about wedding details or needing to add last minute things they were always there to help! The space is beautiful and great for 200 people size wedding. We loved being able to add to the back drop and the upstairs loft area was great for people when they needed a break! If we were getting married again I would 110% go back to them.

Michelle and the South Second team were incredible. Michelle helped me bring my vision to life and helped me create a stunning space. The food was so creative and delectable. We did stations, which added such a fun and unique flare to the wedding. We loved that everything was included so it was one stop shopping for venue, linens, food, beverages, and a day of coordinator. We got many compliments from our guests on how awesome the venue was. We even got to take advantage of the gorgeous October weather by opening the garage doors for cocktail hour. 10/10 would recommend hosting an event at south second!

My husband & I really wanted a venue that wasn't a hotel or banquet hall. As I am sure most of you reading this are aware... Venues are expensive!! We are from the Chicago Suburbs & when we decided to go too Milwaukee to browse venues, we fell IN LOVE with South Second!!! Michelle was super helpful during our first visit walking us through the different packages & helping put our ideas into the space we have. I cannot say enough good things about South Second and the team who manages it! The venue is so beautiful and versatile - we went minimal with florals and decorations for our wedding and it still looked stunning, and our pictures all came out incredible. The space is wonderful, but the staff are what really makes this place shine. I worked with Katie for over a year and a half, from a few states away, and I never lost confidence that our day was going to be perfect. She was so easy to get a hold of, and really helped me with making sure that all of the details were thought through and organized. The day of went so smoothly, partially because the staff are so professional and efficient, partially because of all the preplanning that Katie organized. I had booked this place without seeing it in person, and I wasn't able to do a meal tasting, but it literally didn't matter. All of our guests are still raving about the food! We had a lot of different food allergies to take into account, and they were so accommodating and careful with how they served, that everyone was able to enjoy their meal with confidence. I really could keep raving about this place, and what a joy it was to work with them. Weddings are big and expensive and important, and I know that ours was such a success because of all the amazing people that we got to work with, and the fact that they all genuinely cared about us. One million percent recommend South Second!!

We very much enjoyed working with South Second. Katie helped plan the event and Michelle was there the day of - both very professional, responsive, and detail oriented. The taste testing was delicious and we are so glad we chose family style the day of our reception - the food was on point. We were a bit nervous about COVID and had our guests wear masks, and all the staff wore masks as well, which was reassuring. We kept the garage doors open as long as we could, which also helped with airflow. One staff member found me while wondering the venue greeting people to make sure I was done with my meal - it was so thoughtful. Katie helped us adjust a few things for the bar, including adding a limited amount of 2 specialty cocktail drinks, and really allowed us to fit within our budget. Simple, elegant, great food. Highly recommend.

South Second was the perfect venue for our wedding in August! We dreamt of a beautiful location in the city and the venue delivered and charmed us with the industrial, open vibes. Having both a venue and caterer together made the process so much easier and smoother throughout the process. All of our friends and family couldn't stop raving about how great the venue looked and it was perfect for you to really make it your own. On top of that, all of our guests commented that the food was one of the best they have ever tasted at the wedding. Pair that up with a wonderful coordinator to work with (Katie) and the wedding process was incredibly smooth..even during COVID :). Katie was extremely easy to work with, she has so much experience, always was clear and communicative with her follow through and provided recommendations and guidance throughout the entire process. South Second was truly the perfect venue for our wedding. It's so stunning and the perfect backdrop for both a romantic ceremony and a wild dance floor. Katie was awesome to work with - she was super responsive and always had great ideas and suggestions. From the tour to the tasting (both impacted by Covid) to the rehearsal and everything in between, I was so impressed with how supportive and professional the team was. We are so happy that we hosted our wedding at South Second! Our Event Planner, Michelle was so easy to work with. She is a prompt communicator and reassured us through the whole wedding planning process. On our wedding day the service was flawless and all of our guests were so complimentary about the food and drinks - many of whom told us the food was the best they had ever ate at a wedding! South Second and the Saz’s hospitality group completely EXCEEDED our expectations. We got married on 5/22/21 and the day was a dream. My husband kept repeating all night, “I can’t believe this is our wedding, it looks like something out of a magazine”! Our guests had only raving reviews of the food, drink, and atmosphere. I got a lot of comments from guests saying, “I’ve never been to a wedding that fed me so well” and “this was the best venue I’ve ever been to”. I am not a huge planner and the idea of planning a wedding stressed me out so much. That is until I started working with Michelle. She truly is a godsend. She kept me organized throughout the entire process and was incredibly efficient and professional. I was worried about set up/moment to moment things day of and she handled them all with grace and if there was a little chaos my guest knew nothing. We are so happy we chose this venue and it will be the most beautiful memory to look back on.

We booked South Second in April 2019 for April 2021 and I cannot say enough wonderful things about South Second and Saz’s! Katie was the best to work with - she kept us informed on COVID regulations and was so helpful along the way giving recommendations as we needed them and was always responsive. We chose to do the ceremony with guests at reception tables with an aisle of chairs for close family and it was wonderful! The staff is fantastic - so friendly, thoughtful, and attentive! They even placed a plate with 2 of each of the appetizers in the bridal suite so that my husband and I could try them all during cocktail hour. The food was AMAZING and our guests were raving about it (still are!) The late night pretzel bar was also a huge hit. Overall, I would 10000% recommend South Second and Saz’s! They go above and beyond at every step and made our day so magical.

I cannot recommend Saz's Catering enough! Joe Brueggemann was great to work with. So kind, thorough, and straightforward. Everything from the tasting to the wedding day was great. Saz's team on the day-of was so courteous. And the food was AMAZING! Got so many compliments from our guests. WONDERFUL Food; GREAT prices! We booked South Second two and a half years before our wedding date and we could not have been happier with our choice! We enjoyed being able to have our ceremony and reception in the same location. Our guests really enjoyed having our game station set up in the loft and being able to go outside on their patio to enjoy the fall evening. We never expected what 2020 would have turned out to be, but Michelle was always available for any question we had as restrictions were implemented and changes needed to be made to make our event safe. Having Michelle as a resource was amazing and she is definitely the reason our wedding went off without a hitch! Thank you Michelle and staff for such a great experience! Look no further!!! I do not now if words can truly do justice to how amazing the South Second team was. Our initial date (and entire plan) were affected by COVID-19, requiring us to find a new date and figure out a new plan with a smaller crowd. While it felt like the world was falling apart, Michelle assured us that our wedding day would be everything we dreamed of and more. She did not disappoint! The South Second team made sure our day felt like the "original" plan with some special additions. I could not have asked for a better team to plan a wedding with, let alone in the middle of a pandemic!

Michelle and then entire staff was out of this world! From changing our 250 person wedding to 60 people, she was the most accommodating and reassuring presence. My million emails didn’t even seem to phase her! The day of, I had zero concerns and the venue looked amazing. My family has a lot of dietary restrictions and they were beyond accommodating. We got so many compliments on the food! Michelle checked in with me personally many times throughout the night to make sure my glass and stomach were full and even brought out more “Wisconsin Lollipops” when I hadn’t had enough. At one point, a glass broke and a staff member got his mop out on the dance floor and busted a move. It was hilarious! Our reception was everything I could have dreamed of and more!

We had our wedding here on January 3, 2020 and couldn't have asked for a better venue. Michelle was great to work with and helped ensure that everything went smoothly. The food was phenomenal and everyone couldn't stop raving about the food. I still dream about the Arctic Char that was served. From start to finish South Second made us feel special and went above and beyond. On the day of Michelle was there to make sure that everything went off without a hitch. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone, as they will ensure your day is wonderful.

Last Saturday, I married the man of my dreams at South Second. Everything was perfect! We could not have asked for a better day. Everyone gave rave reviews on our food choices, which is all thanks to Saz's. As we all know, 2020 has been a difficult year with A LOT of uncertainty. Katie and Michelle were so helpful along the way. We could not have done it without them, and I am so thankful for all their help. My husband and I had our wedding at South Second on Saturday and I can't say enough about the service from start to finish! Michelle was excellent to work with. She was very friendly, accommodating, and prompt with responses, including days she may not have been in the office. We worked with Katie on the day of our wedding and she was just as wonderful! Very friendly, accommodating, and efficient. We had our ceremony and reception at South Second and opted to have the guests sit at their tables during the ceremony with a few rows of chairs that lined the aisle for the ceremony. All of the service staff was just as friendly as Katie and Michelle. There was one gesture that says a lot to me as a venue and how much they really do cater to their customer and make sure they are having an spectacular time. Right as we were seated for dinner, the chef brought out a gorgeous board that contained 2 servings of all our appetizers that were served during cocktail hour. Such a small gesture, but so meaningful. The bartenders were amazing the whole night. Making sure to serve guests as quickly as possible, including remember some guests drink choices, which again, is such a small thing, but goes a long way. This place had it all. From the industrial/modern look to the delicious food. I really couldn't have pictured myself getting married anywhere else. The space is very open which was great for our 160 guest wedding. It never once felt overcrowded. They have a beautiful loft looking over the entire venue where guests could go and hangout (we made this an activity area with games and a diy photobooth) Michelle was super awesome to work with. She helped me envision my entire day and understood the look I was going for completely. & she nailed it! We did a Wisconsin style fish-fry for our dinner and the food tasted delicious. I am happy with the menu offerings we went with. I have received endless of compliments about how gorgeous the venue is and I couldn't agree more. The bridal suite was perfect for us to hangout in before I walked down the aisle. If I were to do it again, I honestly wouldn't change a thing.

We truly loved having our wedding at south second. From the very moment we saw the venue, we knew it was a perfect fit. Michelle was always available and always helpful. She worked with any special requests and needs we had. I never felt that she was hard to get a hold of and she always had the answers. South second worked well with all of our vendors and the food was amazing. All of our guests keep talking about how awesome our food was at our wedding. All the staff at south second made our wedding day truly special!

It was an absolute dream having our wedding at South Second. The venue is beautiful with an industrial feel, which is what we exactly wanted! Added bonus was a lounge upstairs for our guests to mingle to, and the side garage doors- we loved that! The food was absolutely delicious and we got tons of compliments. Saz's catering staff was amazing! Michelle, the coordinator, was literally the best. She is professional, organized, and was such a huge help on the day of our wedding! I loved that I could email her at anytime with questions during the wedding planning process, and she was able to respond quickly and answer all of my questions. If we could do it all over again, we would absolutely 100% choose South Second as our wedding venue again. It couldn't have been anymore perfect!

South Second was the perfect choice for our ceremony and reception. From the initial contact to the super fun (and delicious) tasting event to every email and phone call Michelle handled with grace, patience, and helpfulness, we were beyond happy with this venue. All staff was incredibly warm and professional, the Saz's catering was incredible (many people told us it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding by far), and the open industrial space was the perfect backdrop for our decor and flowers. We would pick South Second 100x over--huge thank you to Michelle and team for the best day of our life!

We chose South Second, partially because of Michelle, and were grateful and pleased we did so throughout the entire experience. Michelle was attentive and engaging over our 18 month engagement while working with South Second. The venue itself is beautiful and doesn't need a ton of decorations. The staff (including the wait staff) were incredibly kind, thoughtful, and professional. The food and bar can get expensive, but we found it well worth it and people still comment on how delicious the food was and how open the bar was.

South Second was the perfect spot for us. We chose South Second as our wedding venue this August for a couple of reasons but the main one was we just absolutely loved the space. A HUGE added bonus is that the catering is done by Saz's so thats one less choice you have to worry about in the millions of wedding choices you have. We got SO many compliments on the beautiful venue, but even more on the mashed potatoes (highly recommend those!) Michelle was incredibly helpful and responsive to our 100 questions and really helped make our day perfect. The staff was kind and friendly on the night of our wedding and everything went perfectly. We would recommend South Second to anyone looking to host a killer party!

We could not have been happier with our decision to use South Second for our wedding venue. Not only is it a beautiful venue, but the service is phenomenal! The industrial feel drew us to South Second in the first place, but photos do not do it justice. We had both our ceremony and reception in the space, and with 120 people it still felt intimate but there was plenty of space for people to mingle. We heard endless comments from our guests about how unique the space was! Another reason we loved South Second was the food! Saz's Catering is a Milwaukee staple, and we knew we wanted them to cater our wedding regardless of which venue we used. The fact that Saz's is South Second's exclusive caterer made the process that much easier for us. Some guests even told us that it was the best wedding food they ever had. In addition to the food, they have a number of great bar packages, and the bartenders were always quick to get our guests their drinks. And, or course, the catering staff and bartenders were very professional and handled everything smoothly. As if the look of the venue, the food, and the service weren't enough, working with Michelle as our venue coordinator made the entire experience that much better. She was so helpful and informative throughout the process and helped our day run smoothly. We can't thank Michelle and all the staff enough for making our wedding day so perfect!

Michelle Anderson and the Saz's team 100% exceeded mine and my groom's expectations! They saw our vision and made it come to life. We cannot rave enough about how fun the night was. We selected the "I Do" package which included hand-passed and a table spread of hors d'oeuvres, passed champagne, a call open bar package, table wine service, plated meals served with bread and salad, and late night food. It was perfect! Food is delicious and portioned well. We enjoyed each part of the package - so worth it! The venue comes with a cool mezzanine, bridal suite, and patio for extra space. The vibe is very modern and industrial which allows for flexible canvas for all of your creative details. The Saz's team also works so well with other vendors! This is super important when coordinating many moving parts. What a dream team - just.. wow!

The venue was perfect for us and the food was amazing. We got lots of positive feedback from our family and friends regarding the food, venue, service, etc. We held our ceremony and reception and it was just perfect. Excellent choice.

We had our wedding at South Second on June 22, 2019 and we could not be more pleased with our whole experience! From the first time we met Michelle to inquire about the space, to the tasting event where we could bring both of our parents, to our final meeting, and finally the day of the wedding; everything went completely smoothly! We got such a great value for our 200 guests- appetizers, dinner, late night food, and drinks quite reasonably. Many people came up to us saying how delicious the food was and how amazing the space was! It is so unique, you can dress the space up or keep it very simple- it looks beautiful either way! It was great weather, and having the garage doors open really added to the vibe. Having a photo booth in the mezzanine was perfect and gave that space some purpose! I am just so thrilled that we chose South Second as our reception venue. Working with Michelle was so easy! Would recommend over and over again!

We held our ceremony and reception at South Second on June 15, 2019. I absolutely loved the space from the moment I saw it. While we had a different coordinator to begin with, Michelle is who took over about six months before the wedding and it was a super smooth transition. She answered all of our questions and made any and all changes possible. The food was amazing - everyone raved about it - and we were able to do some customizations to make it exactly what we wanted! The staff at the bar during the reception was also wonderful! Barely ever a line for drinks and everyone loved the service. The final call to discuss final details really put me at ease a few weeks prior that everything would be wonderful. I highly recommend you check out South Second if you’re looking for a wonderful, unique venue with EXCELLENT service and food.

June 8, 2019, we had our wedding at South Second and it was simply amazing! The entire day ran smoothly thanks to Michelle and the team at Saz's. I fell in love with the space when I first walked in for a tour. The industrial vibe is like none other. South Second offers such a cool, unique location right in the city! Michelle is a god send. She responds in a timely manner and will answer all of your questions (even if you have a million of them)! Our guests LOVED the food, as well as the space. Thank you to Michelle and Saz's for providing an unforgettable wedding experience. We will forever talk about South Second to all of our friends and family.

We had our wedding and reception at South Second with Saz's catering our dinner. We wanted a large warehouse like space that felt industrial yet modern and this fit perfectly. It required very little extra decorating other than centerpieces. The wedding day was absolutely beautiful and we are still in awe over how well everything came together. The number one thing that we heard throughout the night and weeks after the wedding was how amazing the food was. Saz's was spectacular in meeting any special requests we had and delivered delicious and delectable food throughout the night. I would HIGHLY suggest Saz's to cater any event you have and if you are looking for a beautiful venue then South Second is your best bet.

Our wedding was 5.17.19, and we couldn’t be more thrilled about choosing South Second for both our ceremony and reception venue. Throughout the entire planning process, Michelle was readily available and easy to connect with when we had any questions or changes to make. She was extremely organized and helped put us at ease when planning our wedding. The staff was exceptional, the space itself is beautiful and spacious, and the food was simply delicious. I have had so many guests come up to my husband and I and rave about how beautiful the venue was and how amazing the food and service was. The staff was able to effortlessly flip the room from ceremony to reception in no time and get the party started! South Second was the perfect space for our various vendors to help add to our day. Our wedding day was an absolute dream and South Second is to thank. I would highly recommend choosing this space for a Milwaukee wedding, you will not regret it!

Had our wedding reception at South Second the last weekend of April and we could not be more thrilled with how everything went! The venue is gorgeous and unique and easy to make your own. Very open to all vendors for flowers, desserts, etc. Food does have to be through Saz's but this was not a problem for us as the food was AWESOME. One month later and we are still getting compliments on our food! Linens, chairs, and tables are also all included which is super convenient and keeps costs at a minimum. The staff was great, bartenders exceptional. Special shout out to Katie who was great especially through the end stages of the planning process. If it was possible, she was going to try to make it happen. We did a his and her's drink selection and I asked if a white sangria would be an option (expecting a no) and I got a very excited yes! All of our guests loved it, as did I! She also brought me a whole plate of appetizers while my day of coordinator brought me sangria as my dress was being bustled in the bridal suite hahaha :) Wedding Pro Tip: surround yourself with wonderful ladies. Thank you, South Second and Saz's for helping make our wedding everything we wanted and more! You went above and beyond!

South Second is a fantastic venue for hosting a wedding! The space is a really beautiful industrial-style space that is very open and flexible to accommodate different setups and wedding sizes. We had ~125 guests and the room didn't feel too big or too small. We had both the ceremony and reception there, and the staff did such an amazing job turning the room over during the cocktail hour that we really didn't even notice. The mezzanine level and the outdoor area are great additional spaces for guests to use. Working with Michelle and Angie was a really great experience. They were very responsive and accommodating with our requests, and Angie did a fantastic job the night of the event making sure that everything ran smoothly. Prices were laid out clearly, and it was a major relief for us to have tables/chairs/linens/etc. as well as catering all included as part of the package, as we were planning everything from Philadelphia. Also, the food was fantastic! So many of our guests came to us to rave about the food, and how much they enjoyed the family-style service. South Second really helped to make it a spectacular wedding day!

South Second is a beautiful industrial wedding venue that has everything you need to make your special day amazing! The space can be transformed into whatever you want, or it can be left in it's original state and still be perfect. The lounge/ loft comes with many benefits. We used it as a game room with corn hole & giant jenga. It also acts as a great hangout space to get away from the craziness of the dance floor. The bridal suite is another bonus room which we used prior to the reception as a private hangout and later in the night as a safe location to store gifts. In addition to having a fantastic venue, the staff is amazing! We never felt overwhelmed or pressured. Michelle (our planner) helped us through every step - even with our unique wedding shot toast! We brought in personalized shot glasses for each guest to take home with them- also to be filled and brought to the tables prior to final speech of the night. Michelle personally took this task on, ensuring each glass was delivered to the right person - she went above and beyond to help make this work for us! Last, but definitely not least was the food! Everyone we talked too couldn't stop raving about how great the food was! Saz's provides a huge variety of catering options, and I don't think you can go wrong with anything on their menu! Overall, South Second was a dream venue.

South Second was a breeze to work with and is especially a venue to consider if you're looking for a trendy alternative to a typical banquet hall. South Second had all the benefits of that—on-site catering, tons of tables, cool chairs, huge variety of linens, great bartenders, friendly planners (who made planning easy especially from out of state) but still offered the freedom to host a custom event that went beyond (and looked nothing like) the typical wedding. We got tons of compliments from our guests on how cool the space is! It was the warm and laid-back Milwaukee vibe we wanted, and we have such great memories of walking into the venue after our off-site ceremony and seeing it set up exactly as we had envisioned. It was like a dream!

South Second was a perfect venue. Communication was prompt, comprehensive, and friendly. All costs were transparently laid out in the contract, and they were very accommodating when we asked for slight alterations or upgrades. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone getting married in the Milwaukee area; additionally, I would recommend this venue to couples planning a their wedding from another location. We planned our entire wedding from NYC yet everything was perfectly coordinated when we got to WI.

I am truly being honest in saying that South Second really does have it all. Leading up to our wedding day our coordinator Michelle was super responsive, patient, and an all around pleasure to work with. The entire staff at South Second really is above and beyond from the planning of your event to the execution. Beyond that, the space itself is beautiful and a great size. Not too big and not too small. We had 120 guests and had plenty of space without feeling like the venue was empty. If you’re debating whether or not the venue is right for you, just go see it. It space, staff, and overall vibe speaks for itself!

South Second was the dream venue for our wedding! The historic industrial vibe is exactly what we were looking for. The open concept was perfect for our large number of guests. Angie was extremely helpful throughout the entire wedding planning process and available to answer all questions we had. We received plenty of compliments from our guests on the beauty of the space, the excellent bar service, and great food.
