The food was delicious! We interfaced with Taylor and she was so great to work with and very responsive! We changed what we wanted multiple times and she totally rolled with it. We also included my dad in the tasting and he was so hard to please but she was so gracious about it. Everyone loved the food, Spotted Hen also made our cake and a dessert table for us so that was an added bonus, not having to find another vendor. They are farm-to-table style, and so all the food was very fresh and well made. We requested a Persian tea service where we would provide the tea leaves (we take our tea very seriously), and they accommodated our requests, which I greatly appreciated. Highly recommend. As an aside, our wedding was at the Houdini Estate, which is a very hard venue to work. It requires a full kitchen build as well as extra staffing. Taylor was very helpful in identifying what equipment was needed for the event.

Spotted Hen Catering was incredible for our wedding. The planning went smoothly, and the food was DELICIOUS. All of the appetizers were amazing, and the main entrees were amazing. So many of our guests said it was the best food they've had at a wedding! We couldn't have been happier with everything Spotted Hen Catering did to make our special day even more special. Taylor was a great contact and made so many great recommendations for the day. Chef Teri and Taylor also set up the most intimate and welcoming food tasting, and were flexible to accommodate our travel plans to make the tasting happen.

We recently got married and worked with Spotted Hen. We loved working with Dana! She was so kind, helpful, and had great insight throughout the planning process. The food itself was delish! My husband and I wanted our apps to feel special to our heritages and Terri was so on board to create new recipes for us including mini spam musabis! All our guests raved about the food especially the gorgeous roasted vegetables, the hangar steak and the huli huli chicken (also a special creation!). The service was wonderful on the day as well. We loved our experience with Spotted Hen! Oh and don’t sleep on the welcome drink- Terri’s garden sangria is to die for!

The flavors, quality and presentation surpassed all expectations. Their team managed the flow of the meal effortlessly and were attentive - we also had tray-passed appetizers during cocktail hour which were a hit with the guests. Overall, the staff managed the catering service well and everything went smoothly so we could enjoy the wedding day without any worries. The Spotted Hen team was incredible to work with from the beginning. They were meticulous and detailed, they made sure that all specifications were accounted for and that we were aware of what rentals and materials were needed. They offered a variety of dishes, appetizers and desserts to choose from. And I have to mention the vanilla cake with berries - one of the best cakes I've had in my life. I don't have the words to do it justice. Please book them! They were amazing to work with.

From the moment I contacted Spotted Hen regarding my daughter's wedding, Taylor, the lead at Spotted Hen treated me as if my daughter's wedding was the most important event ever. She was thorough, personable, and willing to work with our backyard wedding vision. The tasting at Chef Terri's home exceeded our expectations and we were delighted that the food tasted just as good at the reception. Taylor recommended Alisa for our "day of" coordinator and she swooped in full of energy and joy and she literally ran the wedding so we could all enjoy the day. Our guests were so impressed with the food and the servers. Ours' was a backyard wedding but with Terri the chef, Taylor the lead, and Alisa the day of coordinator, it felt as if we were at a beautiful venue. Thank you, Spotted Hen.

Spotted Hen was amazing!! Most importantly the food was incredible - many of our guests told us it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding, one even said it was the best food they had while visiting LA. They were very easy to work with and accommodating to dietary restrictions as both me and my father have celiac. Not only did the food taste great, but their positive attitude and attention to the visual elements of the dinner and our appetizers elevated our whole wedding.

Very late on "the knot" review It was unreal the amount of service that we got with Spotted Hen Catering. We booked SHC EARLY. The tasting was very intimate and held at Chef Terri's house. The food was so unbelievably good we had to say yes. Chicken and waffle apps!? Yes please. Food is farm to table style and they only use ingredients that are in season bought straight from the farmers market before your event. Taylor, the catering director - a Saint. We have so many emails between us with me asking and her answering questions at all hours of the night LOVE HER. She is so good at her job! I had a couple guests with severe food allergies and they took that very seriously to ensure that all the food was safe and tasty! Everyone at our wedding (including ourselves) felt that this was best food we've ever had; which honestly at weddings tends to fall flat. The service & the food 100000/10!! Thank you so much!! The Spotted Hen team catered our spring wedding this year, and they were a huge hit! Everyone at the wedding loved the food - both in taste and how it looks. I would even say the catered meal was even better than the tasting menu we had tried months earlier. The team (Taylor and Chef Terri) were great throughout the planning process, and they were very organized about working around our dietary restrictions (no beef/pork, soy intolerance). Chef Terri was even willing to experiment with a new dish - cheese stuffed rice cakes, a Korean streetfood snack - since I wanted to incorporate a something with more Korean flair. It was great for planning to have the group take care of dessert, the cake, and coffee for the day. The baked goods were delicious and perfect for the day. Taylor was really attentive on the wedding day, and was sneaking us snacks and drinks. Frankly, you can't go wrong with this team. They really deliver on delicious food, and I was specifically looking for a team that would incorporate local farmers market produce. If I could give them more stars, I would!

Spotted Hen recently provided the appetizers, dinner, and dessert for our wedding, and every part of it was a hit. We loved the unique touches of having vegetables (and edible flowers) grown in the chef’s home garden, and honestly the only trouble we had was picking what we wanted on the menu, since we wanted to try it all. We ended up with three appetizers, two main entrees (and several sides), and a cake for a very reasonable price. The Spotted Hen team took the stress out of everything, answering our questions in the months, weeks, and days before our wedding, and readily accommodated our guests’ various food preferences and allergies with impressive flexibility. Cannot recommend working with them enough!

My wife and I went with Spotted Hen as they were on the list of approved caterers for our venue. That was already a huge mark in their favor as our venue was very uptight, so anyone who met their approval was clearly solid, professional, and likely had a good track record. We took a chance and set up a tasting. Honestly, the tasting alone was worth the booking. We were immediately treated like family and were given amazing food, amazing wine, and had a truly wonderful time getting to know this catering team. On the actual day, we didn’t know if they could replicate the experience we had at the tasting but they truly went above and beyond. Every guest complimented us on the food, both in terms of taste and presentation. Our photographer was so enthralled by the entrees that she forgot to take photos of them. My wife and I made the decision to do most of the planning ourselves and just went with a planner on the wedding day. Spotted Hen clearly and easily communicated everything they needed to be provided by the rental agency and it was truly almost nothing. I still don’t know how they did it. The salmon was flaky and moist, the steak was hearty and flavorful, and the cake was truly divine. It really felt, more so than any other vendor that we hired, that we were on a team together and that these people were our friends. I can’t communicate how much that helps with the stress of the day. We knew we were in good hands, and were delighted when Taylor came out to check on us as the evening was winding down. I can also say, definitively, that no other vendor invited us over for cocktails AFTER the wedding! Do yourself a favor and go with Spotted Hen. Your guests will thank you.

If you're looking for the best caterer in the Los Angeles Area, look no further than Spotted Hen. When it came to our wedding, we prioritized dinner over everything else. We had four other tastings with different LA caterers before even trying Spotted Hen's food. Simply put, they're in a different league. Not only was their food far better than the rest, but they beat all the others on price and included more food (Welcome Drinks, Tray Passed Apps, Full Family Style Dinner, Wedding Cake, Full Dessert bar, Bartender w/ Mixer Package, AND Late Night Tacos!) The Spotted Hen team is an absolute delight, eager to make your wedding (or any event) into something special. After our tasting with them, we not only felt like we were in great hands, but also that our guests were going to be surprised at how good dinner was. We weren't wrong. Nearly everyone at our wedding made a point to tell us how amazing the food was and how they couldn't believe how much was prepared. Spotted Hen really made our dream wedding possible. It's not cheap to get married, especially in Southern California, and they found a way to not only work within our budget, but they truly went above and beyond anything we could have asked for. Chef Terri and Taylor are the sweetest people and rolled with the punches as we had to delay our wedding multiple times due to COVID, including having to postpone as we got COVID the day before our wedding. We couldn't have asked for more supportive people to help us through a hard time. Onto the food! It's amazing! The Korean short rib was a huge hit, the cocktails were wonderful (Three Dots and a Dash was a real standout), the vegan options were creative and appreciated by our guests. And the cake! It's the best red velvet cake I've ever had and our friends went nuts for the dessert bar. They made a truly special day even more special for us. Thank you!

We had an all-vegetarian wedding and even though most of our guests eat meat, the reviews were overwhelming raves. Just as important as the quality of the food, Chef Terri and Taylor and everyone else at Spotted Hen were an absolute pleasure to work with. They responded promptly to our questions and are truly nice people. Their prices were better than most other places we checked out, plus they included bartending and a phenomenal cake (get the carrot cake; even if you think you don't like carrot cakes, get it!). I give them my highest recommendation!

WOW! Spotted Hen was incredible! They catered our wedding this past October, and we could not have chosen a better catering company. First, the options were all fantastic- hard to decide what would be best! The food was delicious. Every single person we talked to said this was the best food at a wedding that they have ever had. Second, their entire team was so kind and helpful throughout the night, we loved having them there! We were so fortunate to work with Dana, who made the entire process easy. We strongly recommend Spotted Hen for any event!

Taylor and Terri were AMAZING to work with! We fell in love at the tasting - the food was fantastic, and they both were so warm and welcoming. They were able to easily make edits to the menu to ensure everything was nut free. We also had to switch from plated to family style pretty close to the wedding day, and it could not have been easier. The guests are still raving about the food - everything was delicious AND the presentation was over the top. I could not recommend Spotted Hen enough, and hope we have the opportunity to work together again in the future!

The most perfect salmon we’ve ever had. And the short rib grilled cheese was absolutely delicious. Everyone LOVED the family style. Taylor was super communicative throughout this whole process. Thank you so much for everything!!

There is no one better than Spotted Hen! Chef Terry and her team are the absolute greatest of all time and we were so lucky that they went above & beyond to trek out from Los Angeles all the way to Big Sur for our wedding! They charge a ridiculously reasonable rate for the high quality food they provide and are all warm, kind people to boot. The food is so creative and always tasty. There is no ego either-- we had a dish during the tasting that we didn't love and they were quick to pivot with more ideas. They are also pros and experts-- guiding us to the best types of dishes for a destination wedding with all kinds of tricky limitations. The wedding cake was DIVINE. They were so kind to wrap up 2 large slices for us immediately so we could enjoy in bed, post-wedding :) Food was super important to us-- we wanted it to feel like an intimate dinner party with 50 of our nearest and dearest. They did family style food that tasted AMAZING. Our friends were so impressed, as it's really hard to serve a large group and have it warm and taste amazing. We are so happy that we'll get to have this special place to provide us special anniversary meals & cake for all the years to come!

We did a tasting with Spotted Hen a few months ago and it was a disaster. I would not recommend them for anyone with attendees with food allergies or dietary restrictions. I had sever food allergies that were shared in an RFP before the tasting. When we arrived, they were unaware of the allergy, and when we discussed it, they were able to pivot on one of the dishes that was impacted - which was very nice especially on short notice. They remade the meat portion there with us, and walked through all ingredients with me to make sure everything would be alright. I didn't taste items that were not advised, and despite missing out on things was generally good. About an hour later, I got violently ill and lost consciousness in the bathroom briefly, and my fiancé tried to get me in to a doctor. When we reached out about the issue, the response from spotted hen was unprofessional to day the least. "There will be no refund and please do not contact me again. The tasting was horrible, their wants were not communicated at all, we made a ton of food that had nothing to do with what they wanted for their wedding and there was no cross-contamination. Every single other item was gluten-free and the only thing that wasn’t was the steak and the chicken. The bride took items off of the platter that had the steak and the chicken on it knowing that they had soy sauce on them so if she got ill from doing that that was her choice. Goodbye." We tasted with three caterers using the exact same RFP the same weekend - Spotted Hen was the only issue. We even had a few caterers decline given the food allergies stated on the RFP - which is completely fine and a better alternative to getting that sick. I would hate to think of any other bride or attendee with food allergies going through this with them.

We hired spotted hen for our wedding and is was one of the best decisions we made! First of all, the food is absolutely DELICIOUS! Second of all the entire team is so professional and sweet! Dana was so great in the weeks leading up to our wedding! She always answered emails quickly and was detail oriented. The "tasting" itself was a wonderful experience and we were sold after the first few minutes into the tasting. Our guests raved about how delicious the food was! The cake is literally the best cake we have ever had in our entire lives! Looking forward to anniversary meals with the spotted hen in the years to come!

We absolutely LOVED working with Spotted Hen. Due to some health issues, my partner and I had a lot of dietary restrictions and Spotted Hen took so much care to make sure they crafted a menu that met all of our various needs, which is no easy task. The food was absolutely delicious, and all of our guests commented on how tasty the appetizers, main meals, and dessert/cake was. They were responsive to all of our inquiries and were very professional to work with, helped us think through our rentals and alcohol order to make sure we had enough of everything for our guests, and their bartending service was amazing! They also helped us to plan signature cocktails, review our alcohol order and make drinks that our guests loved. We had a large wedding with a pre-chosen plated meal dinner service, and went very well.

Stop looking and book them already! I cant rave enough about Spotted Hen Catering's team and Cindy their sales coordinator. Cindy is super on it and responsive, from our first email exchange to the last, she was beyond helpful and borderline a mini event coordinator with her recommendations. When interviewing other caters I got this sense that they were constantly trying to upcharge us for things. Cindy was the opposite, she is a straight shooter, transparent and honest! On the day of the wedding her staff was on it. Food was very much the center of our wedding and Terri executed everything perfectly. They have a menu selection but are able to customize it to your needs. We had a number of dietary restrictions including a guest who is allergic to pepper, spices, and garlic and it wasn't an issue. Our guest loved the cocktail hour that consisted of a raw bar and a beautiful grazing station. Not to mention our mains were cooked perfectly and super delicious too!

Absolutely adored our caterers. They provided us with a 100 percent plant based meal and even accommodated zero nuts as we had a guest with a severe allergy. Even with all of our needs they provided the most delicious food for our mostly not plant based guests! Cindy was amazing and organizing everything and had superb communication that helped make this portion of the planning stress free! To this day I still have people telling us how great our food was, and we all know that's not something everyone can say about wedding food ;) Cannot recommend them more!

We hired Spotted Hen to Caterer our wedding at the Millwick in DTLA and it was beyond amazing. Food was a top priority for me because I feel like it can make or break an event. I reached out to several vendors and Spotted Hen stood out, as well as their first point of contact Cindy. Cindy was quick to respond and great about answering all our questions. Terri, the chef and talent behind Spotted Hen, created a menu around all of our favorite things. Our tasting was amazing and we didn’t change one single thing. At the tasting we discovered that Cindy also coordinates, which as I mentioned before she’s on top of it, hired! Spotted Hen’s servers were fantastic, always super friendly and helpful. They made sure my groom and I got plenty of food throughout the night. People not only loved the food, but desert was a HUGE hit. People were not ashamed about going back for seconds! Spotted Hen is a one stop event catering spot. Passed Hors d’Oeuvres, stationary cheese stations, family style dinner, desert bar, wedding cake, late night snacks, bartenders, coordinator….!!! We are so thankful to Terri and her staff for creating an amazing menu for our special evening. Everything was beautifully presented and beyond delicious. People are still talking about the food, which is exactly the kind of wedding you want to have. I just want to circle back to Cindy and her coordinating before wrapping up this review. Cindy was an amazing coordinator answering all the questions I had in a ridiculously impressive fast turnaround (and I had a lot). On the wedding day when we arrived at the venue I was completely blown away. Cindy and her team had set up everything better than I had imagined (I am a perfectionist and Cindy didn’t miss a beat). I never needed to worry about anything because Cindy had her finger the pulse of the entire evening. When you work with people who are good at their job they make it seam effortless, and that’s Cindy. She’s like working alongside a really great friend. I can’t thank Terri and her culinary talents/artistry and Cindy with her coordination skills enough. A dream team!

Auntie Em's catered our wedding. I am happy to report that all of the food at our wedding dinner was tremendously good, especially the coconut wedding cake. During the course of our wedding planning process, the catering manager for Auntie Em's changed from Elayne to Leslie. For the most part, there were no hiccups as a result of the transition. However, as a cautionary note, Leslie did increase the items on our outside rentals order without notifying us, which we did not appreciate. Overall, we were very happy with Auntie Em's. I would use them again for other events for sure, because they were such a big part of making our wedding day unforgettable.

A quote from one of our guests: "Best wedding food I've ever had. Better than my own wedding!" The food is amazing and presented beautifully. We did a buffet and passed appetizers. They also have dessert included in their catering - complete with 3 tier "ceremonial" cake (meaning, it serves about 50). With the cake, you get other desserts including, but not limited to, brownies, mini cupcakes, fruit crisps, lemon bars. They were professional and clean. Only gripe is their coordinator is kind of a pain to deal with - she is just a bit brusk and intimidating, especially if you've never planned a big party that needs catering. Just know that it's not you, it's her. But even besides that, she's not that bad and the food is totally worth it.

I can't say enough about Auntie Em's. Our food was amazing at the wedding, that is all I heard for days from our guests!! We opted for buffet and it was amazing how the food was presented. Not only was it delicious but it looked really really good! You cannot go wrong with this caterer. I HIGHLY recommend you do a tasting and you will know what I mean. The staff is amazing. Elayne and Terri really know how to get it done :)

The service is superb and the food is incredible. We chose to do family style which our guests loved. And the dessert buffet was a huge hit!
